Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog: President Trump keeps promise to withdraw from dangerous Iran nuclear deal.

New post on Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

BREAKING NEWS: President Trump keeps promise to withdraw from dangerous Iran nuclear deal. Will impose severe new sanctions on Tehran. This is the right decision & the President deserves tremendous credit. But pray for peace in the region. Things might get bumpy. Here’s the latest.

by joelcrosenberg
(Jerusalem, Israel) -- After a careful policy review by senior administration officials, and consultation with a wide range of U.S. allies, President Donald Trump today kept his promise by announcing the U.S. will terminate the nuclear deal that President Obama and Secretary John Kerry negotiated with Iran.
The President also announced the U.S. will imposing severe economic sanctions on the terrorist regime in Tehran.
This was absolutely the right decision, and the President deserves tremendous credit.
As I've noted previously: "The President should scrap this insane and dangerous deal. 1) It's not a real treaty signed by both sides. 2) It wasn't confirmed by the U.S. Senate according to the Constitutional process. 3) The deal does not stop Iran from building or buying an entire nuclear arsenal in the near future. 4) Iranian leaders lied repeatedly through the entire process. They cannot and should not be trusted to keep their word, especially since they continually call for the U.S. and Israel to be annihilated."
To read fact sheet I wrote in 2015 detailing why deal is so dangerous, please click here.
Most of America's Sunni Arab allies -- especially the Saudis and Gulf emirates -- are cheering the decision tonight. So is the government of Israel. That said, most Western Europeans oppose the President's decision, as do Russia and China.
More than ever, please pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all the peoples of the Middle East. Things might get bumpy.
The Iran nuclear deal decision -- along with President Trump's decision to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, the site of Israel's capital -- are being praised by many here. But both decisions pour gasoline on the fire Iran has been stoking for years as they try to rally jihadists to attack the U.S. and Israel.
The apocalyptic regime in Tehran is by far the most dangerous terror regime in the region. What makes them even more dangerous is that have the full backing of its main ally, Vladimir Putin of Russia.
There may be very challenging days ahead in this part of the world. Iran has been repeatedly humiliated by the U.S. and Israel in recent months as both allies are showing more resolve at pushing back on Tehran's thus-far nearly unchecked aggression. Tehran is looking for a way to hit the U.S. and Israel -- and hard. But this is all the more reason to show firmness and unity. You only get peace through strength.
"The Iran deal was one of the worst and most one-sided transactions the United States has ever entered into," the President said at the White House.
“This was a horrible one-sided deal that should have never, ever been made,” Mr. Trump said, according to a report by the New York Times. “It didn’t bring calm, it didn’t bring peace, and it never will.”
  • President Trump is terminating United States participation in the JCPOA, as it failed to protect America’s national security interests.
  • The JCPOA enriched the Iranian regime and enabled its malign behavior, while at best delaying its ability to pursue nuclear weapons and allowing it to preserve nuclear research and development.
  • The President has directed his Administration to immediately begin the process of re-imposing sanctions related to the JCPOA.
  • The re-imposed sanctions will target critical sectors of Iran’s economy, such as its energy, petrochemical, and financial sectors.
    • Those doing business in Iran will be provided a period of time to allow them to wind down operations in or business involving Iran.
  • Those who fail to wind down such activities with Iran by the end of the period will risk severe consequences.
  • United States withdrawal from the JCPOA will pressure the Iranian regime to alter its course of malign activities and ensure that Iranian bad acts are no longer rewarded.  As a result, both Iran and its regional proxies will be put on notice.  As importantly, this step will help ensure global funds stop flowing towards illicit terrorist and nuclear activities.

Labyrinth - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Labyrinth
Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“For I considered all this in my heart, so that I could declare it all: that the righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of God.” (Eccl 9:1, NKJV)

As for us, I can count the many churches my good wife and I have been a part of over these decades, serving in fellowship and in friendship. It numbers 11, since 1980. From Illinois to Michigan, then Florida and now North Carolina, we have been around. In Charlotte alone, since 1994, it has been six churches. So we know a lot of people attending different Sunday morning services!

Though to my knowledge I am not Jewish, I could say that I certainly have the heart of one, and at times thought I was like a “wandering Jew”, going from place to place. We made many friends and connections during these decades, and though some would consider this “bouncing from place to place”, it has been something I wouldn’t consider amiss. The Lord knows that when it comes to pollinating as flowers are by bees, we certainly can say we have done that. It also has given us the opportunity to connect churches to each other through these friendships.

When I received a prophetic word back in 1995 that I was in a labyrinth (at the time I had NO idea what that meant), I can now look back and see how the hand of God has directed. Even as the dictionary says, “a complicated irregular network of passages or paths in which it is difficult to find one's way; a maze”, I realize indeed that that word was from the Lord. This time has been an irregular network of passages. The journey has been a maze.

If you find yourself in a sort of labyrinth moment, or year, or even decade, don’t consider yourself too weird. It very well may be the Lord God of Israel directing your path. If you had asked Him to do so with an honest and seeking heart, you very well may find yourself too going from place to place for a certain period of ordained time. But know that there is an end, and once finally settled you will know it has been well worth the journey.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

'A Billion-Soul Harvest': The End Times Ushering in History's Greatest Revival? - PAUL STRAND/CBN NEWS

'A Billion-Soul Harvest': The End Times Ushering in History's Greatest Revival?

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Christian ministries have been called streams of God. A number of them are coming together because they believe their unity could help set off history's greatest revival.
It's a gathering of some of the most powerful streams of ministry that have been used in revival across the past three decades—much like the Toronto Blessing that started in 1994 and touched millions around the world.
Lighting a Fire and Forming a River
Now these streams have gathered where that revival began because all believe God wants to light the fire again and hit the world with possibly the greatest awakening and harvest of all time.
Daniel Kolenda is the successor of Reinhard Bonnke, whose Christ for all Nationsministry says it has seen more than 72 million salvations. Kolenda insists it's because they focus on the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.
"It actually makes our jobs quite easy," Kolenda told CBN News. "We just present Jesus to people, and the Holy Spirit comes in and does the rest."
A Mass Beholding
Lou Engle, co-founder of The Call mass gatherings, has been leading intercessors crying out for this for more than 30 years.
"'Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sins of the world," Engle said, quoting John the Baptist. "I'm believing for a mass beholding of the Lamb of God. So many people getting saved. And, secondly, that He shall baptize them with the Holy Spirit and fire."
John Kilpatrick's Florida church was the headquarters for the Brownsville Revival that began in 1995. He told CBN News he was assured by God Himself this much larger revival is coming the day al Qaeda brought down the Twin Towers in New York City.
A Sign of the End Times?
"I watched the towers come down," Kilpatrick recalled. "And I said to the Lord, 'Lord, does this mean that revival is over?' And the Lord responded to me immediately. He said, 'Oh no. Revival's not over. I'm going to pour out my Spirit again. But it'll be in conjunction with end-time events."
Rick Joyner of MorningStar Ministries believes it's crucial that all of these various streams of ministry find ways to work in unison.
"Because there's a multiplication of authority and spiritual authority when you come together," he explained. "One can put a thousand to flight, but two can put 10,000 to flight."
Unity Is a Witness
Joyner believes that kind of unity among Christians is the best kind of witness to a fragmenting world.
"They're starting to love each other, come together, have unity, have peace, have joy—all of these things that the world is becoming increasingly devoid of," he said.
American pastor Randy Clark had come to visit and guest-preach at this Canadian church when the Toronto Blessing burst out in 1994. The surprised preacher had a front-row seat for one of the most powerful revivals of the 20th century. Now he's expecting something much greater in the 21st century.
A Billion-Soul Harvest
"I do believe in a billion-soul harvest that has been prophesied about," the Global Awakening founder said.
Clark points out some have prophesied this will be a faceless, nameless revival because God wants to use every willing disciple in the entire Church, not just evangelical superstars.
"It didn't mean that there weren't leaders, but that the leaders understood their role was to release the others, the laity," Clark explained.
From the stage, Engle called the crowd in Toronto to become those disciples rising up from the church pews. He asked them to take off their shoes and shout, "Lord, send me."
"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring Good News," he declared, saying of the unsaved, "How shall they hear unless there's a preacher?"
Kolenda explained what God's after when it comes to harvesters of souls.
"He's just looking for people who are hungry and open and who will say, 'God, whatever You want to do, here am I," he said.
And that's what these leaders from past revivals, plus more than 3,000 Christians who've come to the Light the Fire Again Conference, are all declaring: "God, whatever You want to do, here am I."

Liberty Counsel Protects Assaults on Students' Religious Rights - LIBERTY COUNSEL STAFF CHARISMA NEWS

Liberty Counsel Protects Assaults on Students' Religious Rights
05.07.18  LIBERTY COUNSEL STAFF  CHARISMA NEWS
Every spring, atheists and other secular thinkers seek to remove God from public school graduations. Every year, Liberty Counsel acts to ensure that prayer and religious viewpoints are not censored during these ceremonies.
Already, Liberty Counsel is helping a school create a policy that will protect religious freedom and allow constitutionally protected prayer.
This year, Liberty Counsel launches its 15th annual "Friend or Foe" Graduation Prayer Campaign. Liberty Counsel's web page offers legal memos, pocket guides for religious freedom and even red "I WILL PRAY" wristbands that can be a reminder for students who wish to pray. This campaign seeks to protect religious viewpoints at every graduation ceremony across the nation. Liberty Counsel will first educate and then, if necessary, litigate to ensure that prayer and religious viewpoints are not suppressed during graduation ceremonies and throughout the year.
"The key is that public schools should remain neutral towards any expression of a religious view, including graduation prayer," said Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel. "The school cannot command or prohibit religious language."
Liberty Counsel was responsible for winning a precedent-setting case against the ACLU that went all the way to the Supreme Court. In Adler v. Duval County School Board, Liberty Counsel successfully defended the right of students to pray or give religious messages at graduation. The case established the legal principle that public schools are free to adopt a policy that allows students or other speakers to present secular or religious messages, including prayer, at commencement ceremonies.
"If the school allows a variety of viewpoints but bans religious viewpoints at graduation, then that is hostility to religion. That school's actions would be unconstitutional. Students do not lose their constitutional right to free speech when they step to the podium at graduation," said Staver.

Archaeologists Make Groundbreaking Discovery Linked to Biblical Account of King David

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

A team of archeologists has made what could be a major discovery related to the biblical account of King David.
The team of Israel-based researchers recently uncovered a vast building that dates back to the time of King David's reign (c. 1,000 B.C). The ancient building was discovered in Tel Eton, in the Hebron hills of Israel, which was, during King David's time, a Canaanite town that supposedly had close ties with Israel.
The archaeologists first discovered a large, four-bedroom building dating all the way back to the 10th century B.C, according to measures taken via carbon dating. The reason this is so significant is that various skeptics have pointed out the fact that fortifications, public works or signs of statehood in the surrounding region dating back to this time had yet to be discovered. But with this latest finding, that point appears to have been proven wrong.
