Trump's Win an Answer to Prayer—Now the Work Begins - STEVE STRANG CHARISMA NEWS

The Trump "victory party" was lively Tuesday. Pictured with me is Pastor Robert Jeffress from First Baptist Church in Dallas and his wife, Amy.

Trump's Win an Answer to Prayer—Now the Work Begins

STEVE STRANG  CHARISMA NEWS
Yesterday was a historic day. As Charisma has reported, it has been prophesied that Donald Trump would be elected president. The pundits of the nation indicated they wanted a different direction. I believe God answered our prayers.
Thanks to Pastor Darrell Scott of Cleveland, Ohio (with whom I recorded two podcastslast week), I was invited to New York to the rally to celebrate Donald Trump's victory. It was an experience of a lifetime. I waited in the ballroom of the New York Hilton from 6:30 p.m. until 3 a.m. with a couple thousand Trump loyalists who helped him get elected. We left only after Donald Trump acknowledged his win on national television and, as you can hopefully witness yourself, his brief remarks were very conciliatory.
During the evening, I posted some things to my various websites. But it was so crowded and so noisy it was hard to post very much. Plus, the digital signal was so poor I could record only one Facebook Live event. And before the evening ended, my cellphone battery died.
On Wednesday morning, I recorded my observations in a 26-minute podcast. In it, I described what I saw and heard last night and what I believe this means for America and the church.
Rarely is the spiritual aspect discussed in the political debate. Many don't care or don't see a spiritual aspect. Some of it is because Christians are mean-spirited or just wrong when it comes to predictions.
We understand there is a spiritual aspect, so we published an article from Lance Wallnau saying God was raising up Trump as he did Cyrus in Isaiah 45. Frank Amedia has written about and recorded podcasts concerning what he believes God said.
A friend from church texted me after Trump was declared the winner: "Your prophets might have hit a grand slam." That wasn't our intent. Rather, we were just trying to hear from God, not just predict an election outcome like a prognosticator.
Some other "evangelical" magazines actually called for Trump to step down due to imperfections in his personality, style or conduct. I acknowledge that Donald Trump is far from perfect—something he acknowledges in more humility than I've seen in most political leaders (and even many Christian leaders). But picking out those flaws is like picking a speck out of his eye while ignoring many logs in his opponent's eye—not only in policy positions, but in what seems to be outright corruption and breaking the law.
Even though we took a lot of heat for it, I felt it important to put these prophecies on the record so we can begin to understand how to hear from God in these matters in the future.
In a way similar to how Donald Trump will overturn the status quo in Washington, I believe new Christian leaders must change the status quo in the church as it relates to public policy and influencing culture. I believe new leaders like Wallnau, Amedia and Scott as well as Jim Bakker, Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas and Pastor Jim Garlow of Skyline Church in San Diego will motivate Christians to move beyond voting for personalities and vote on principles referred to in political parties' platforms.
I say a lot more in this podcast. Please listen and share it with others.

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Apostolic Pioneer C. Peter Wagner Goes on to Glory

JENNIFER LECLAIRE  CHARISMA NEWS
Update: With comments from ministry leaders.
C. Peter Wagner, a pioneer in the apostolic ministry, has gone home to be with the Lord. He was 86 years old, passing away at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Wagner suffered from congestive heart failure in part of his heart. In June, he underwent two surgeries. The first was to drain his abdominal cavity of excess fluid. This second surgery is to repair the lungs and pour talcum powder into the lungs, which repairs the leaky lungs.
Wagner's friend, apostle Chuck Pierce, confirmed Wagner's death on his Facebook page Friday, calling Wagner "one of the greatest molders of modern church history."
Wagner is recognized as a leading authority in the fields of church growth and spiritual warfare. He is co-founder of World Prayer Center and is chancellor of the Wagner Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Wagner holds graduate degrees in theology, missiology and religion from Fuller Theological Seminary, Princeton Theological Seminary and the University of Southern California.
Wagner served as a field missionary in Bolivia for 16 years and he taught on the faculty of the School of Intercultural Studies at Fuller Seminary for 30 years. Wagner ministers extensively nationally and internationally from his home base in Colorado. He has written 70 books, including Prayer Shield, Territorial Spirits, and Apostles and Prophets.
Cindy Jacobs of Generals International said this on Facebook: "This afternoon my mentor and Dad-in-the-Lord for 27 years, Dr. Peter Wagner stepped over to glory. Peter gave so many of us a great treasure and legacy. He stood with us, discipled us, loved and championed us. A great general has gone home. No doubt having a place in the Hall of Faith for his generation. Thank you, Lord, for such a life well-lived!"
Other ministry leaders on C. Peter Wagner's life and ministry:
Bishop Joseph Mattera: "Dr Wagner pushed my first book 'Ruling in the gates' -- all over the world! He promoted whoever and whatever he thought was cutting edge! He paved the way for me and many others in the apostolic movement  His voice will be sorely missed!"
Bishop Mark Chironna, Church on the Living Edge: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Doris Wagner and her entire family as they mourn the loss of one of the great apostolic voices to our generation, Peter Wagner. Your reward is great! You will be missed."
Doug Stringer, founder, Somebody Cares International: Both Carol (Garlow, the wife of Jim Garlow) and Peter have ministered to us all and have left a lasting legacy. Both left an indelible mark in my life personally."
Bob Weiner, president, Weiner Ministries International: "Our hearts go out to Doris and family as well as the entire body of Christ who loved him. We honor Peter as one of the greatest reformers of our time who has literally changed the world! Peter is a true general and father to so many of us! My heart breaks knowing my great friend has passed from this life but know Heaven is standing with great joy to receive Him!"
Wagner is survived by his wife, Doris.
The former apostolic leader was admitted to the hospital on Sept. 23 for what his wife, Doris, termed as a ''weakened condition."

Lance Wallnau Is on Fire and on Target With His Insights on the Culture and This Election - STEVE STRANG CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Lance Wallnau Is on Fire and on Target With His Insights on the Culture and This Election

Strang Report, by Steve Strang, Founder of Charisma magazineLance Wallnau is on fire when it comes to garnering social media attention. I know this because a podcast he did with me last spring about Donald Trump was listened to more than any other in the history of the Charisma Podcast Network.
He wrote the cover story for the October issue of Charisma about how he believes God is raising up Donald Trump like He did Cyrus in Isaiah 45. I did a podcast about that two weeks ago, which has become the second most listened to podcast I've done. If you missed it, you can listen to it here.
Today, Lance spoke at a conference in Orlando. It was powerful. Afterward, we got a bite to eat and he told me a video about Trump calling out "liberal" pharisaical evangelicals for blasting him for ungodly behavior 11 years ago, yet overlooking his repentance and also the corruption and the diabolical agenda of the Hillary Clinton campaign. In only a few days, it's been viewed more than 3.5 million times! You will want to watch it. In it he says God can use the jawbone of a donkey, but He can't use a Jezebel.
I'm sickened by the self-righteous, weak-kneed "evangelicals" who want to be liked by the culture they are trying to win so much that they compromise and actually play into the hands of the enemy. Later, I may call out some of them by name after I can research what they said and maybe confront them behind the scenes. They need to be exposed and they need to lose their influence and platforms after being revealed for who they really are.
After my last podcast with Lance, he and I kept talking as friends and what he was saying was so good I asked him if I could turn on the recorder to give "the rest of the story." You'll want to listen to that podcast here called "God is Raising Up Trump with Lance Wallnau Part 2" on the Charisma Podcast Network. Then share this newsletter with friends and on social media.
In other newsletters, I've written about the article Pastor Jim Garlow of Skyline Church in San Diego wrote two months ago that we headlined: "If You're on the Fence About Your Vote, This Pastor Clarifies How the Very Future of America Is at Stake." Since then, it's gone viral, and today it passed the 3.5 million mark in terms of shares on Facebook.
Someone told me the article is like an apologetic for voting for Donald Trump when you don't like him as a person. A friend told me today she wasn't going to vote for Trump until she read the article. She realized this is not about personalities; it's about issues, and the platforms of the two parties are as different as night and day, especially from a biblical point of view.
In this podcast, Lance talks about how America cannot stand 48 months more months of the downward spiral this nation has been in for the past few decades—especially in the past eight years.
When we met today, we talked about a quick e-book Lance wrote called God's Chaos Candidate I ordered it today, and it's fascinating reading not only about Trump but also about the trends in our culture and the agenda of the progressive left. When I checked, it was No. 118 of all books amazon.com sells.
Please take advantage of these materials and help us get out the word. It's possible that this race will be so close that it will be determined by how Bible-believing Christians vote.

Sound the Shofars in the Nation's Capital - DAN CUMMINS CHARISMA NEWS

The Jefferson Memorial (David/Flickr/CC)

Sound the Shofars in the Nation's Capital

Nov. 6, 7 and 8—three nights leading up to the most important presidential election since the Civil War, concerned citizens will be gathering at the Upper Senate Park across Constitution Avenue from the U.S. Capitol to pray for the election and the nation's future.
Leading the three-night prayer vigil are hosts Pastor Dan and JoAnn Cummins of The Jefferson Gathering Worship Services and led by well-known Christian churches and organizations including the Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego, Triumph Church of D.C., Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation, Somebody Cares International of Houston, Texas, Faith & Action in the Nation's Capital, and Hombres De Palabra (Men of Their Word) both of Washington, D.C.
The organizers believe that prayer, not politics, is the only hope and answer to America's problems. "Where people are praying, there is hope. When people pray things happen," says Pastor Dan Cummins, an associate pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego, California, and the onsite pastor of The Jefferson Gathering Worship Services which are held weekly in the nation's Capitol building for members of Congress, staff and all federal employees. Cummins and his wife, JoAnn, first began holding "Come Pray With Me" rallies in the small rural East Texas town of Bullard in 2010.
The public is welcome to join the non-partisan evening vespers.
"Skyline Church is involved because we understand that America is in a crisis moment. The nation—as we know it—is gasping for air.  This is neither melodramatic nor defeatist. It is simply fact," says Dr. Jim Garlow, senior pastor of Skyline Church in San Diego and oversite pastor of the Jefferson Gathering. "The kingdom of God will be fine—with or without America. But America may not survive. We pray for voters to enter the voting booth with a healthy reverence of God, casting a ballot for biblical concepts and principles."
Doug Stringer, of Houston, Texas, and founder of Somebody Cares International, believes that "we are living in very challenging, critical and volatile times. Every day the news is filled with more human tragedy or disaster. Crises are escalating at an unprecedented rate. As the body of Christ, we must respond." The reason Stringer and many from his organization are flying to Washington, D.C., to participate, "It's about the church humbling herself and crying out before God. Our private posture affects our public influence. Our private choices have public consequences. There is a battle for the soul of our nation."
Though the event is advertised as "non-partisan" the focus of its prayers will be for the nation and the election. Organizers believe that it was upon the influence of Judeo-Christian ethics that America was founded. They hope that this election will be influential in bringing the nation back to its core values.
"There is a steady undercurrent of targeted efforts to remove God from every vestige of American life and culture. These battles confirm a tangible reality that the things we hold sacred are slowly eroding away all around us," says Lea Carawan, president and executive director of the Congressional Prayer Caucus Foundation. "Thankfully, God's people are unifying with one heart and one voice in prayer for the country and those who lead her. God has been and always will be our only source of hope."
The focus of evening prayers will span from the White House to every house in America. The Supreme Court nominees and the judicial system will be a center of focus.
"If ever the American people needed to talk and listen to God—it is now. Faith & Action in the Nation's Capital is a missional ministry to our nation's leaders, no matter who they are. It is clear, that our work on Capitol Hill is more important now than it has been before," says Peggy Nienaber, vice president of programs and operations for "Faith & Action in the Nation's Capital," an organization that ministers primarily to the Supreme Court.
Other organizations participating in the Upper Senate Park pray vigil are Concerned Women for America, Family Research Council, Triumph Church of D.C. and Hombres De Palabra (Men of Their Word).
Individuals and church groups are invited to attend. The organizers ask that no political clothing, apparel, banners or signs be worn or brought to the event. This also includes any type of musical interments or shofars. You may bring lawn chairs and blankets. Suggested parking for cars and buses is provided at Union Station just north of Upper State Park.

Donald Trump Deals With Issues of Faith, Family and Religious Liberty in This Exclusive Charisma Interview - STEVE STRANG CHARISMA NEWS

My interview with Presidential Candidate Donald Trump. At right is Charisma Publisher Dr. Steve Greene.

Donald Trump Deals With Issues of Faith, Family and Religious Liberty in This Exclusive Charisma Interview

There is a time-honored tradition in American journalism to endorse candidates for political office. Every four years since 1984, we've endorsed a candidate for president, the only election the readers of a national magazine share. This year we endorse Donald Trump. Our cover story and related articles in the October issue of Charismamagazine make the case for our decision.
Before we could write the cover story, we felt we needed to interview Donald Trump personally. We began asking for an interview in June. It happened on Aug. 11 in Orlando. Trump was in town to speak to some home builders and then to a group of about 500 pastors. He told the crowd he had just spoken to home builders, but that they (the pastors) were home builders, too, which got a great response.
Before Trump spoke without a teleprompter (he said the prepared speech was so boring it would have put everyone to sleep), he was introduced by former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. "Every year, everyone says it's the most important election of our lifetime, Huckabee said. "But folks, I'm not messing—this really is the most important election of our lifetime."
After his ad-libbed speech in which he talked about religious liberty issues and even repealing the 1954 "Johnson Amendment" that prevents any nonprofit, including churches, from making political endorsements, I met for 10 minutes in a back room with Trump for the interview. You can hear on it my Strang Report podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.
I've interviewed a number of presidential candidates, governors and other politicians in my 45-year media career. But the opportunity to interview Trump in the midst of his unlikely campaign strikes me as markedly different.
With Trump, what you see on television is not what you get behind the scenes. A sense of humility surrounded the Republican nominee that many don't see in liberal media soundbites. He still shot straight, but his sincerity was far more striking than what we can portray in black and white in a magazine.
In my brief interview with Trump, I asked him the questions I thought mattered most to our Charisma readers. I believe his answers show a confident, determined man who truly is committed to making America great again through government based on principles that honor God rather than defy Him.
The full interview will run in the October issue of Charisma along with a package of articles that make the case for how God is raising up Trump at a critical period in history and, conversely, how voting for Hillary Clinton and the far left platform she endorses should be opposed at all costs. There is also an interview with Trump's running mate, Mike Pence.
While you must wait to read the interview, you can listen to it on my podcast. Dr. Steve Greene, who has his own popular "Greenelines" podcast, accompanied me to the Trump interview. He and I talk in the studio about the behind-the-scenes of how we got the interview, our observations of what happened that day and why we think electing Trump is right for America. (Charisma Assistant Online Editor Taylor Berglund accompanied us to the interview and wrote observations from a millennial point of view, which you can read here).
Recently, I got some podcast statistics, and Lance Wallnau's podcast on May 6—regarding how he believes God is raising up Trump as He raised up Cyrus—is far and away the most popular podcast ever. Last week, I recorded three more podcasts with Wallnau about what he believes God is saying in this election. If you missed them, you will want to listen. I also invited him to write the cover story about it in Charisma's October issue.
At the same time, Pastor Jim Garlow recorded a podcast about an article we posted 10 days ago about this election and makes the case for why Christians cannot sit on the fence. Already, it's been shared 766,000 times and has had more than a million page views. If you missed the article or podcast, you will want to check it out and also share it.
Finally, I posted an iPhone video of this interview (from which the audio was taken) on my Steve Strang Facebook page. I rarely push that page but you may want to "like" it to receive materials I believe are important. Plus, you can easily post your comments for me to read.
I hope you enjoy listening to my interview with Donald Trump and that you share this podcast with others.

Jentezen Franklin, Paula White Join Long List of Pentecostals Outraged Over Clinton's Anti-Christian Bigotry - THE KAIROS COMPANY CHARISMA NEWS

Jentezen Franklin, Paula White Join Long List of Pentecostals Outraged Over Clinton's Anti-Christian Bigotry
THE KAIROS COMPANY  CHARISMA NEWS
As Christian leaders, Catholic and evangelical, we collectively express our outrage at the demeaning and troubling rhetoric used by those within Secretary Clinton's campaign—and those associated with the campaign—to describe our communities.
Recently released emails clearly ridicule, demean and smear Roman Catholics and evangelicals. It is especially alarming that the Chairman of the Clinton Campaign, John Podesta, was copied on these emails between Jennifer Palmieri, now Director of Communications for the Clinton campaign, and a fellow at Podesta's Center for American Progress. Podesta's refusal to raise any objection makes him equally party to this bigotry. It is inexcusable. It is shameful. It is un-American.
Historically, evangelicals and Catholics have had significant theological differences, dating back to the Protestant Reformation. In spite of those differences there has been a mutual respect for one another and an ability to work together on important issues of mutual concern.
The WikiLeaks emails reveal a contempt for all traditional Christians, and we are—Catholic and evangelical—united in our outrage and united in our call for Mrs. Clinton to immediately apologize for the Christophobic behavior of her associates.

70 Evangelical Leaders Meet With Ambassador-Designate to Israel David Friedman - BOB ESCHLIMAN CHARISMA NEWS

70 Evangelical Leaders Meet With Ambassador-Designate to Israel David Friedman

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS
Earlier this week, a group of more than 70 evangelical leaders met with U.S. Ambassador to Israel-Designate David Friedman in Washington, D.C., for more than an hour to discuss his nomination as well as the Trump administration's agenda regarding the bilateral relationship with the Jewish state.
The meeting was convened by Joseph Sabag, U.S. National Director for Israel Allies Foundation; Mario Bramnick, President of Hispanic Israel Leadership Coalition and Vice President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Coalition; Bill Dallas, CEO of United in Purpose; and Jim Garlow, Senior Pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church. The combined delegation of faith leaders represented millions of Christians from around the world through major denominations and networks.
Following the meeting, the pastors consolidated their support for Friedman's nomination and issued a joint letter to President Donald Trump.
"After meeting with Mr. Friedman in person, it is clear to us that he is a man of character, principle and faith," Bramnick said. "We believe he will apply his formidable expertise and will faithfully champion our country's interests.
"Now more than perhaps at any other time in modern history, it is vitally important, to both Christians and to our nation as a whole, that America stand firmly behind Israel, the only pluralistic and democratic nation in the region—a nation that shares our values. We are grateful to Mr. Friedman for graciously spending his time meeting with our coalition, and we are pleased to say that we enthusiastically support his nomination."
The joint letter expresses the group's willingness to support moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, should the administration choose to do so.
"While Mr. Friedman is someone we have known and trusted, our meeting today only strengthened our support," Sabag said. "What we can say definitively is Mr. Friedman and President Trump represent a vast upgrade in our nation's support for Israel, and that's something all Americans should applaud and especially evangelical Christians."
The following is the letter sent to the president, applauding Friedman's nomination an offering support for moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel:
Dear President Trump:
We write today as evangelical leaders and lovers of Israel, offering the blessings and support of the many millions of Americans whom we collectively represent. We wish to applaud your nomination of David Friedman to be the United States ambassador to the state of Israel and call upon all members of the United States Senate to vote in favor of his confirmation. Furthermore, we wish to express our support should your administration decide to move our U.S. Embassy to the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish nation, the holy city of Jerusalem.
Our support for Israel is first and foremost rooted in the Bible, in which it is clearly established that God gave the land of Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, to the Jewish people as an eternal covenant. Indeed, the claim and presence of Jewish people in Israel and Jerusalem has remained constant for more than 3000 years.
Additionally, it is in America's best interest to have a democratic and pluralistic ally like Israel in the Middle East, a nation that shares our values.
Of concern to Christians in particular, Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the freedom of religion is assured and protected. Given the attempted genocide of Christians and the escalating persecution of the church taking place throughout the surrounding region, our community has never seen a more critical time for standing in unwavering support of Israel. Additionally, the abundance of Christian heritage sites in Israel and its territories makes it an especially sacred place for our community, where the freedom of access and free exercise of our religion can only be guaranteed under Israeli sovereignty.
Our meeting with Mr. Friedman has made it clear that you have wisely selected a fellow man of faith, character and principle to represent our country's interests in Israel. We are certain that in his position he will act effectively to champion the vital concerns and hopes of the Christian community. More broadly, we are confident that Mr. Friedman's great talents and expertise will play a key part in carrying out the vast upgrade in support for Israel that your administration has committed to.
Despite the challenges and obstacles that may confront our support for Israel, we know that America remains blessed as "the land of the free and the home of the brave" in large part due to this support. Therefore, at this important time, we wish to affirm our community's commitment to stand with our elected government, Ambassador Friedman, and you, our new president, as you lead our own great nation in pursuit of the many blessings to be drawn from our stance with Israel, the light unto the nations.

Jordan’s King Abdullah II welcomes Evangelical Christian Delegation at Palace in Amman. Leaders thank King for advancing peace, fighting terrorism, caring for refugees & protecting Christians.

AMMAN, JORDAN, November 8, 2017 – His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday welcomed a delegation of American Evangelical Christians at Al-Husseiniya Palace in the capital city of Amman. The meeting capped three days of meetings between Delegation members and senior government officials; Evangelical, Catholic and Muslim leaders in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and a moving visit to the Zaatari Refugee Camp near the Syrian border.
After similar successful meetings last week in Cairo with President el-Sisi, senior Egyptian Cabinet Ministers and religious leaders – both Islamic and Christian -- as part of a regional tour, the Delegation flew to Amman on Sunday to build bridges of friendship and understanding with Jordanian leaders.
Delegation members expressed their appreciation for King Abdullah II’s impressive efforts in advancing security and stability, and for his compassion and that of the Jordanian people. They also expressed gratitude for the King’s consistent efforts to foster dialogue and understanding among various faith communities.
“His Majesty King Abdullah II is America’s most faithful Sunni Arab ally, and a man of peace,” said New York Times best-selling author Joel C. Rosenberg, an Evangelical and a dual U.S.-Israeli citizen who convened and led the delegation. “When my wife and I met with His Majesty last year, he asked us to bring a Delegation of Evangelical Christian leaders back to Jordan and we readily agreed. Nowhere in the Arab world are Christians safer than in Jordan. By God’s grace, the King has created an oasis of stability amidst a sea of fire. This is a model of moderation the American people need to know more about.”

On Monday evening, the Evangelical leaders met with His Royal Highness Prince Hassan, brother of the late King Hussein and grandson of the late-King Abdullah I, the nation’s first monarch. The Prince, who brought several Catholic leaders with him, shared personal anecdotes of the early years of the country and leadership qualities he has observed in his brother and grandfather. He spoke of “the Jordan ethic” of hospitality and compassion that has resulted in the accommodation of so many refugees. It was a special and, at many points, humorous evening that was a blessing to the Delegation.
The Americans were able to experience the “Jordan ethic” first-hand during a visit to the Zaatari Refugee Camp near the city of Mafraq that provides housing for 80,000 Syrian individuals and families. Since 2011, Jordan has taken in some two million refugees, making up 25 percent of the national population and accounting for one-fourth of the national budget. Despite no oil wealth and limited resources, Jordan is providing these refugees humanitarian support, jobs and educating their youth in order to reduce their vulnerability to recruitment into extremist ideology.
“I believe God is blessing Jordan because they have been so generous to the poor and the suffering,” said Rev. Tony Perkins, president of Family Research Council. “And while I’m grateful the American people are doing more than any nation in the world to help Jordan financially during this crisis, it’s critical that the rest of the world stand with the people and leaders of Jordan in their hour of need.”
On the first day of their visit, the group was briefed by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff Lt.-General Mahmoud Freihat, and other senior military officials at Jordan’s Central Command headquarters.
The Delegation was also received by Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, who expressed his deep appreciation of Washington’s generous financial and military support of the Kingdom, and President Trump’s commitment to reach a comprehensive Palestinian-Israeli peace agreement. They also discussed how to expand Christian tourism to Jordan, which has many Biblical sites, including the Baptismal Site of Jesus, Mount Nebo, Petra, and cities of the Decapolis.
“King Abdullah and President el-Sisi are to be applauded for exemplifying moderation and stability in a neighborhood scarred by intolerance and war,” said former congresswoman Michele Bachman. “These men are courageously confronting the forces of terror and extremism. They’re committed to their nation’s peace treaties with Israel. And they want to work even more closely with the United States to advance peace in the region. These are impressive leaders and they need our America’s appreciation and full support.”
In a separate meeting, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, His Excellency Imad Fakhoury focused on the critical economic and financial challenges facing Jordan. The wars in Iraq and Syria and the resulting refugee crisis are placing enormous pressure on the nation’s budget and host communities across the country. He, too, expressed appreciation for the continued U.S. aid to Jordan supporting national reform and development programs resulting from the Syrian Crisis.
On the final day of their visit, the Delegation visited the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS). They met with Major General (ret.) Imad Maayah, president of the Evangelical Synod of Jordan; Dr. Imad Shehadeh, the JETS president; Captain Emad Kawar, the seminary’s board chair; and three dozen Jordanian Evangelical pastors and ministry leaders for a roundtable discussion about how to strengthen the Church in Jordan. The Delegation was deeply appreciative of the opportunity to meet with their brothers and sisters, listen to their prayer requests, and hear their hopes and dreams for the future.
Members of the Delegation to Jordan hosted by Joel C. Rosenberg included former U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann; Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Center; Mario Bramnick, senior pastor of New Wine Ministries Church in Florida; Dr. Mike Evans, founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team; Dr. Jim Garlow, senior pastor at .Skyline Church in California; Larry Ross, founder of A. Larry Ross Communications in Texas; and Bob Vander Plaats, president of The Family Leader in Iowa. (Also joining us were several wives and two of my sons, Jacob and Jonah.)
