Merry Christmas & Happy Hanukkah

Love For His People, Inc.    12120 Woodside Falls Rd.
Pineville, NC 28134     704-806-6934
Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to our family of friends!
We are grateful to be able to send this year end letter to you, sharing with our family and friends the good year  the Lord has blessed us with. As the year of 2011 draws to an end, our first full year of growing the ministry of Love For His People,  we treasure what the Lord has accomplished. It is because of your friendship, support and encouragement along the way.  As I thought about what the Lord’s provision and direction has brought, my heart is most appreciative. We give thanks, while continuing in the path He has been leading us on. Without the Holy Spirit’s presence, and yours in our midst, I know the trek would have been less fruitful. Let me share some of the moments and events that Laurie and I participated in, and the work of the ministry that we were able to participate in, to bring encouragement and strengthening to others.
Beginning in January, Laurie and I began hosting the newly formed Friday night meetings called Beit Tikvah, as part of Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, SC. These continue to be a time to bless Israel, learn of our Jewish roots, and share in the Shabbat candle lighting. Leading Messianic style song worship, most often with the help of Little Big Eagle, Mary and Little Deer, and others, was a joy. Senior Pastor Peter Wyns shared regularly on our Jewish roots and our need in standing solidly with Israel. We are most grateful for our heritage given to us as believers, through the Lord’s chosen people.
In February we attended the NRB (National Religious Broadcasters) annual convention in Nashville. Our greatest joy was being invited to the Israel Ministry of Tourism breakfast. Later that night we further showed support for Israel by attending the annual ministry meeting of Proclamation to the Nations, headed by Laurie Cardoza Moore, of Nashville. Our desire continues to grow stronger to stand with those who stand with the nation of Israel, and the Jewish people worldwide. That is one of the major thrusts of the ministry entrusted to us.
Three times this year Laurie and I led worship for the quarterly assemblies of Highway to Zion, here in Charlotte, NC, headed by our good friend Cathy Hargett (also a director on our LFHP ministry board). Additionally we greatly enjoyed our times with our dear friends of Beit Yeshua in Lincolnton, NC. Curtis Loftin (another director on our board ), whom we have grown to very much appreciate over the past five years, his wife Carolyn, along with the Williams, the Miles and the Anthonys, regularly included us in their feast celebrations. I shared a brief word on how to practically support Israel, at their annual “Honoring Israel Night” in May.
Later that month we joined in the March of Remembrance, annually commemorating Holocaust victims, at the China Grove, NC gathering. Headed worldwide by Messianic song artist Ted Pearce, the local public display of support was put together by our friend Rabbi Yossi Wentz and the Messianic congregation of Beit Shofarot.
I personally enjoyed writing the 30 issues of the Ahava Love Newsletter this year, shared through e-mail, on our blog site http://loveforhispeople.blogspot.com/,  and my personal Facebook note pages. It also is a regular posting on our Cross TV web page  (http://www.cross.tv/love_for_his_people_ministries).  Included in each edition was my Ahava Love Letter and an article by another board member, Dr. Bill Duerfeldt, from Asheville, NC (when he and his wife Cindi are not volunteering in Jerusalem!)
With a major portion of the generous donations of over $17,000 received this calendar year, we were able to give monthly support to a Messianic Jewish family of five in Jerusalem.  Also serving in Jerusalem, Jim and Linda, volunteers on the staff of Christian Friends of Israel, received monthly support through us for their work in The Land. Pastor John Ebenezer of Hyderabad, India, beginning his new orphanage called Lighthouse Center India, was blessed through the gracious contributions of our regular donors. Orphans in Liberia and Jewish kindergartens in southern Jerusalem were also impacted this past year, as together we extended His loving embrace.
Thank you for your ongoing support. We simply cannot extend His love for His people without you in 2012. We love you!
Shalom and ahava,
Steve & Laurie Martin

Ahava Love Letter - "Colors"

Ahava Love Letter
 Colors
“…though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool (snow).” Isaiah 1:18b

Dear family of friends,
Colors. Blue and white. Red and green. Yellow and black. Black and white. Colors all around us. Some more prominent than others.
Back in the day (like the ones the country group Rascall Flatts sing about in their song, “Mayberry”, when “everything was black and white”), life in Cedar Falls, Iowa was basic growing up time in the ‘60’s and early ’70’s. As typical Midwestern youth, my friend Rusty and I had our Schwinn Sting ray bikes, the ones with the big Texas steer handles and the banana seats. We obeyed the traffic signals, stuck out our hands when turning left or right, and occasionally remembered to ring the bell when approaching the “slow ones” on the sidewalk. (Ricky Bobby had nothing on me.)
Once I became a sophomore at Columbus Catholic High School in Waterloo, I had gotten my first real ride.
Thanks to my oldest sister Sue, I became the proud owner of her former black and white 1957 Ford Fairlane. I had gotten a great deal for $150 (almost a half year’s savings of working at Rolinger’s Hamburger joint, no less, at $1.10 per hour!) Even though it was a 4-door, at least it had doors. And when I added the glass pack muffler, to give it that extra “loud” flare driving down Main Street, life was worth living. Dad wondered why I wanted noise, but then he gave me a booming reverb add-on for my three station button radio. That made it real special.
After I meticulously added the white pin stripes around the black trimmed windows, oh so carefully with my craftsman-like precision fingers, the freshman girls even looked. At least once.
Things were indeed more simple back then.
Flash back to grade school, I remember what occurred when you mouthed off in class. My 6th grade nun Sister Robert Cecille took me once to the older nun’s office, who was the Principal. I only had to go there that time (the other kids used to call me “Brown Nose”), but even still, that room was one place you didn’t want to go. Just “walking the plank” up the stairs to the second floor at St. Patrick’s Elementary gave you extra time to put the fear of God in your heart. Sister’s black and white nun’s outfit, called a habit, with the pointed cap hiding her short black hair (we saw it one time – a very rare occasion), clearly indicated the need in my life to respect and appreciate authority.
When Father Thomas Purcell, dressed daily in his black shirt and black pants, with a white collar around his neck, put me in charge of the altar boys schedule while I was in 8th grade, he unknowingly helped me raise funds for my new black Panasonic cassette player. Any one remember? The one with the automatic off switch, so the battery expense wouldn’t be so large. I liked Diana Ross & The Supremes songs the best.
Being the “brains” that I was (thank you Lord!), I scheduled myself to serve the priest at Mass for most of the Saturday weddings. The groom was always in a good mood, so the $5 tip usually received made me smile real big too. (The funerals I gave to others. Not so profitable.)
For each Mass, whether it was “high or low”, wedding, funeral, holy days or just the 20-minute daily Mass, we put on our black and white cossacks, as they were called, over our street clothes, and did our thing. (Sidebar: Many symbols in the Roman Catholic Church had their roots in the Jewish culture, the early Christian community. We need to get back to those Hebraic roots, and cease with the Replacement Theology garbage, as many Christian churches throughout the world erroneously believe.)
Today, black and white has turned gray. The Ten Commandments are not allowed in the schools, our courtrooms, or any public places that I am aware of. Many in this current youth generation, following after parents who also have lost their way, after dismissing the rules and regulations as too restrictive decades ago, are wandering aimlessly. Anything goes, when it comes to doing the number one thing – being entertained. And so people burn themselves up by practicing their “freedom”, with out of marriage sex, drugs of all sorts, and over indulgence of drink.
Many have lost the beauty of the simple standard, basic colors, and instead have accepted the ugly ones.
Black and white. Yes, simple and basic. The way of life given to us by the living God of Israel, to give us life.
Red is a very good color. It represents the Blood that enables us to see clearly black and white. I like black and white, but I like red the best. And I give Him thanks daily because of His love shed for you and me.
Ahava to my family of friends.
Steve

P.S. It was good seeing all the teens and young adults at the Charlotte, NC Samaritan's Purse distribution center warehouse in December, helping to put together over two million Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. "Train up a child in the way he should go. And when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
P.S.S. Love For His People, Inc. sends monthly financial support to believers “on the ground” in Jerusalem, and to an orphanage in Accra, Ghana, cared for by a Messianic Jew named Ephraim. Ahava Love Letter - "U-N-I-T-Y" is spelled..."

Ahava Love Letter
 “U-N-I-T-Y” Is Spelled…”
Jesus prayed, “That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You…” John 17:21
Dear family of friends,
If God prayed a prayer, do you think it will get answered? I do. And I am seeking to be a part of that answered prayer. Want to also?
When the Lord asked me to write these Ahava Love Letters, I responded “I will”. Over the years I have learned that if I say “I will” to Him, then no matter how it happens, or where He leads me on that journey, I know I will certainly get there. Even if it takes a few hours, days, month, years, or decades to accomplish it. My part is to hear and obey. His committed part is to finish it.
When I woke up at 2:43 a.m. on Christmas Eve morning in 2010, the word in my head was “unity.” I thus considered the real possibility that the Lord had something He wanted to share with me. Then maybe with you.
But when I came down to my cozy brown prayer chair to start writing, I checked my e-mails on my new Blackberry Torch first. Answered them. Then listened to a song by Robert Critchley of Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship revival fame, called “Waterfall.”
(Sidebar: Andrew, my future son-in-law, had been over the night before, after the church Christmas program. He mentioned that song. Laurie and I had also recorded it on an All Nations Church Watch of the Lord night CD, over ten years ago. Andrew said he still listens occasionally to our version, and told me that then. Actually, I had just downloaded it onto my Blackberry the day before, along with Don Moen and Paul Wilbur, my longtime favorites.)
Finally, I turned on my HP laptop, complete with broken screen. It was 4:45 a.m. Over two hours later (just to help you with the math.)
Sometimes it takes me a little while to get on to what the Lord really wants me to do. Like walk in unity, that I want to further share about. (Sidetracks happen.)  J
Do you ever wonder why it takes us so long to actually do what the Lord wants us to do? I sometimes grow weary on waiting. Especially when it takes years for a promise from Him to come about in my life. Imagine the patience He has had, after praying that prayer of unity for us, in Jerusalem, near the Temple Mount, around 33 A.D. (only 1978 years ago.)
That prayer that petitioned His Father, God Almighty, for us, His sons and daughters, to walk in unity. Is Jesus wearied by our lack of cooperation, and does He know something we don’t know?
The English alphabet spelling of “unity” is interesting, especially if you are using the “New Steve of Charlotte Version” of the dictionary. Whenever I have “spoken” new, creative words that are already in my dictionary, some have laughed. My response thus far has been simply, “Every new word begins at some point in time. I just created a new one.” (I like George W. Bush a lot. Sarah Palin too. Very creative!)
So consider this. Unity starts with “U” (as in the text version of “you.”) Add the “N” (as also in text language for “and.”) Place “I” in the middle (so we each have someone on both sides of us to uphold and walk next to.) Then bring on the “T” (as in “together”), and finish strong, with a bang, using the English letter “Y”. Why? Because He prayed it. (Or as Curtis Loftin suggested, “Y” is for “Yeshua (Jesus)”, where we can be together in Him.
Now repeat this out loud with me. “You and I together”.  Y? Because He prayed it. Yeshua.
God’s prayers will get answered. They will get fulfilled. They simply will happen. My prayer is that it will happen in my lifetime. With you and me. With the church down the highway. With the one across the railroad tracks. Include the ones of the “other color” of people that He has already included among His own. And absolutely be sure to keep the part of His Body that proclaims Yeshua is the Messiah (which He is.)
Look around you. Who is the Lord asking you to walk in unity with? He and/or she may already be standing there. If not, I hope you find them soon and get connected. You and I need each other now more than ever.
Have a good ahava day. Beautiful here in Charlotte!
Steve

‘Awake, America!” – Love For His People ministry newsletter

‘Awake, America!” – Love For His People ministry newsletter, Aug. 10, 2020

(Above photo: Dr. Peter Wyns of Antioch International Church)

August 10, 2020 Charlotte, North Carolina USA

Greetings Love For His People family and friends.

Right at the start, I want to say I really appreciate our pastor, Dr. Peter Wyns, of Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The powerful message he gave this past Sunday, August. 9, 2020 would have woken the dead if they could have heard it. I truly hope the American church wakes up and hears it. It is TIME for believers, and especially pastors and those who love our country, to stand up and stand against the forces seeking to destroy us from within, and without. We can’t wait until tomorrow.

Please listen to Dr. Wyns message here: Awake! Awake! O Zion!”

In conjunction with his message, during the same church gathering, the Lord gave me a word on what actions we need to take. You can read my latest message, Time To Act: Time to Draw the Sword!

As I have shared before, the ministry of Love For His People is ever increasingly becoming involved with aliyah – helping North American Jews immigrate to Israel and those who have already made the move to the Land. Specifically, Laurie and me have joined forces with a new organization known as CAFI (Christian Agency For Israel). I myself came on staff with the team August 1, involved with administration and financing. A possible move to Florida may be coming within the year.

At the same time, we have been on the Advisory Board of His Lighthouse, Inc. founded by Nissim and Hadassah Lerner near Jerusalem, Israel for the past 5 months. We have known the Lerners for over 10 years now and have become great friends. Here is a word they sent out from last month: His Lighthouse newsletter. Get involved as you can.

Have a good week, knowing that our Lord, Our Savior, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, rules and reigns above all!

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

P.S. And..if you haven’t already signed up for this email communication, or someone shared it with you (yeah!) don’t miss out on future ones. Do so now. Click on these blue, highlighted words: Communication Letter Please share this letter with your friends.

Time To Draw the Sword – Steve Martin

“O you sword of the Lord, how long until you are quiet? Put yourself up into your scabbard, rest and be still! How can it be quiet, seeing the Lord has given it a charge against Ashkelon and against the seashore? There He has appointed it.” Jeremiah 47:6-7, NKJV

At the beginning of the Sunday morning gathering on August 9, 2020 at Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina, Dr. Peter Wyns brought a huge, decorative sword to the pulpit and held it up. “A sister-in-the-Lord brought this today for me to show you.” (Her name is Nita Brown, our friend from Lancaster, South Carolina.) It was appropriate that he did this, for it went along well with his recent, powerful messages spoken these past months calling forth Christians and the Church to wake up in America.

During the worship time that followed I sensed the Holy Spirit say to me, “I have given my Sword (the Bible) to everyone who has called upon My name. Some carry it, some have put it down. Some no longer think it is valid nor useful in this day. I AM calling them to pick it up again and use it. It is time to draw the sword.”

The full armor we have been given as believers, as found in Ephesians, includes the battle weapon, the sword. We have been called to use it.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand firm therefore, HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE; in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” Ephesians 6:10-17, NASU

As I considered further as to what the Holy Spirit was saying to me this morning, I got the sense that He was serious. He was not giving us an “option” anymore, as if we had a choice. He was saying this word with a force of power behind it. We have to pick up the sword. It is time to draw the sword He has given us and use it.

Our country needs the prayers that cry out to God. Our country needs the believers in this land of America, still the home of the brave and the free, to start fighting the forces of hell before the forces of hell take our freedom and right to worship the Living God away. The enemy of our souls is not backing down. Why are we standing around as if it continues to be OK for us to do so? It is not all right to be singing, “Que sera sera. Whatever will be will be.”

As Dr. Wyns repeatedly has been saying, and I too have been writing about for a few years in my books (Standing For Truth 2018, Adventures in Courage 2019, Lion of Judah Roars 2020, each available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle versions) it is time for us to stand up, be bold, and not let the devil take this land from us. Fight we must. Use the sword we will.

It is also time we stood strong for Israel and the Jews, and not let the lies of the anti-Semites and the Replacement Theologians continue to direct the narrative that most Christian churches have allowed to be preached from the pulpits and written pages over these past decades. That is the belief that the Church has now received all the promises given to the Jews by the Living God of Israel, taken from them and given to us, is simply not so, but a lie from hell.

Be it to stand against the evil of abortion, same-sex marriage, cultic practices and idolatry, backing down on support of Israel, or allowing our educational and political systems to become more and more liberal and humanistic, now is the time to step up, be counted, and take up the Sword of the Lord to fight back.

Of the full armor of God, the Sword is the one used not only for defensive purposes, but primarily for taking the offense. The mighty Sword is the one weapon used to attack and kill the enemy, before he kills you and the ones you are called to protect.

Are you willing? Are you going to let our children and grandchildren be fed the deceptive and destructive lies that constantly rage against the Word of God and His followers?

Not me. It is time to act. Before it is too late.

Details coming.
