Happy birthday, Dad! You would have been 88 today! But for the last 20, you have been working with Jesus in heaven, for you were not one to just sit around. You taught your kids well by your example!

Thanks, Dad. We love you! See you in a bit...

Love you,

Steve

Dad knew the way. And followed Him.

My Mom wrote this, to help me remember!

"We moved here (Charlotte, NC) June 1996. He died 3 years later. He had cancer a total of 4 years. We bought our house here in Pineville, NC in February 1995. Found out he had cancer in August of that year. Mary and Bob(Smith, my 2nd of 5 sisters) rented the house while we were in Iowa getting Chemo. He had Chemo for 6 months. Then we sold our home there and moved here to NC June 1996 thinking he was in remission. He began Chemo again in August 1996. He was in Hospice for 2 months before he passed on.

His business was called LJM Services. He had that for over 25 years. He worked at the Viking Pump Foundary as the maintenance man for 33 and 1/2 years and retired 4 years before he died."

And my Dad knew, and knows, Him!

"The Tide Has Turned" - Think About It. Again. By Steve Martin Love For His People ministry

The Tide Has Turned

July 20, 2019

Over 5 years ago, on March 20, 2014, I sensed the Lord say the tide was turning and wrote the following Now Think On This message.

In the natural, typically the tide cycle takes about 24 hours and 50 minutes.  Because the Earth rotates through two tidal “bulges” every lunar day, coastal areas experience two high and two low tides every 24 hours and 50 minutes. High tides occur 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. It takes six hours and 12.5 minutes for the water at the shore to go from high to low, or from low to high. (National Ocean Service)

If you look at the timing from a week perspective, that can take a long time. But in the eternal perspective of God, it happens very quickly. He is One who moves supernaturally.

As the Lord has poured out His grace and mercy on many nations, particularly the United States of America, on these past years, with victories on several battlefronts. we indeed can see the turning of hearts and minds to the Lord Jesus and His ways.

While the darkness has gotten darker and the light is shining more bright, it is obvious where people are standing regarding their beliefs. Those lining up with the Lord and His plans are seeing the darkness being overcome in many areas, as prayer and intercession have stirred the heart of God.

Be encouraged, The tide has turned.

The Tide Is Turning
March 20, 2014

“In the west, people will respect the name of the Lord; in the east, they will glorify Him. For He will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the Lord.” Isaiah59:19, New Living Translation

“‘Hear the shouts, hear the triumph songs in the camp of the saved?" The hand of God has turned the tide!  The hand of God is raised in victory! The hand of God has turned the tide!"  Psalm 118:15-16 THE MESSAGE

I can sense it in my spirit. The tide is turning. The Lord God of Israel has said, “Enough is enough”, and He is turning the tide in the heavenly realm, and thus in the earth.

For decades the wicked have risen up, proclaiming their agenda, pushing their immoral acts, pressing down on the godly standards of the Judeo/Christian foundation. They have removed the stones of the righteous, replacing them with heretical lies and godless ways.

In my spirit, I can hear the Lord say, “Now it is MY time. It is MY time to raise up the standard and show Myself strong. It is MY time to let the earth know that the King of kings and the Lord of lords is in full control. It is not the heathen. It is not the oppressor. It is not the tormentors who think they rule. My Kingdom will be established, even as I have spoken in My Word, and recorded by My prophets, centuries ago.

It will be My Word that will set the course of the nations. Even as man and the rulers of the nations think that they are moving mountains, they are but hills in My sight and they themselves will be moved.

I am raising up a generation of young people who will look to their fathers and mothers for godly direction, for wisdom in how to advance, for righteous counsel in what they are being called to do. It is I, the Living God of Israel, Who will establish My purposes, My plans.

Those who have laughed at My people and My words will not stand. They will see the right hand of God move, and remove, and build up the righteous foundations again.

The tide is turning. Because I am the Creator of the oceans and the mountains, and because they serve Me, I will use them in the natural as a forerunner of what I am doing in the spiritual.”

"Friend" - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

“Friend”

“Some “friends” pretend to be friends, but a true friend sticks closer than a brother.”
Proverbs 18:24, Complete Jewish Bible

When I heard someone say recently, “He has no friends”, my heart immediately felt the pain and loneliness that that one must feel at times. I know. I have been there. So have you.

Each of us can recall during our childhood years those times when it seemed like no one liked us when the “kid down the street” had all the friends to laugh and play with, while you sat on your front steps just silently crying to yourself for just one friend.

You too wanted to be a part of the sports team. You too wanted to be invited to the birthday party that most kids in your class were going to. You too just wanted someone to talk with, be around, experience more than being by yourself.

And as we went through middle school and high school the pain of loneliness, even while sitting or walking in the midst of the hundreds of other kids around you, only increased. Why didn’t your clothes, or hair, or skin complexion be as good as they had it?

Even with several people in the company office, or on the highway road crew, or in the congregation gatherings every weekend - it still seems hard to really have a friend to share your joys, your sorrows, those longings you want to share with at least one other person who relates and enjoys what you do. We all want that.

Without a friend, it can really be lonely.

The NASU version of Proverbs 18:24 reads as this, “A man of too many friends comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Even the rich and famous don’t really have it all. Ever see a man or woman once rich in money, fame, and attraction for a period, and then after they no longer have none of these, what then? Not a pretty picture. For these things, temporal items, once no longer around, do not keep friends after they are no longer available to seemingly once, and now long gone, “friends”.

I remember as a kid many times, especially during the summer months, of being lonely, without a neighborhood kid nearby who could come out and play (no video games then). Nor the friend I had in school, who lived too far away to even ride my Schwinn bike, the one complete with the cool banana seat and the high handlebars which looked like they were fashioned after the Texas steer.

Heh, don’t laugh. You probably had one too!

But during those times I am glad that I knew the Lord, even beginning at the age of 10 and onward. I can still remember on a few occasions when His Holy Spirit would somehow speak to me, though I can’t say I really knew Who it was at times. I just felt comfort in my soul, a sense that I was not really alone.

I had a friend. He was my friend.

With all the rushing madness, and this no stop turning of the planet we live on, it can be pretty easy to not experience the real friendship that we all long for.

But we do have a Friend. We do have Someone that knows the longing in our heart. He is actually the One who put it there, so we would draw near to Him. And not just to draw near, but also to know and love Him, and others, as He knows and loves us.

You may be lonely at times. You may say to yourself, “I don’t have a friend.”

But you do. His name is Jesus. His name is Yeshua.

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8, NKJV

Your true Friend is waiting to show Himself to you, to be with you, to let you know He is ever-present, never far off, always wanting you to get to know Him even more.

Give Him that time today. You will be glad you did and will come to know, even more so if you already do, that you have a friend in Jesus.

Now think on this and see what good things the Lord has in store for you and those around you.
