"A Mighty Prophetic Generation Will Emerge"
by Elaine Tavolacci, Staten Island, NY

The year 2017 was a challenging year and many of us are wondering why we had to endure such difficult trials. The warfare seemed to be relentless but there is an old saying, "What didn't kill you will make you stronger". The Lord is showing me that He is raising up a prophetic remnant who are strong, courageous and determined to stand against any adversity that comes against them. Some of you are asking the Lord, "Why did You allow certain things to happen this past year?" Let me remind you that there was a mighty prophet of God who asked the same question...

Emerge – Mighty Men of Valor!

In the book of Judges, there was a man named Gideon who was fearful and weak in his own sight, but mighty in the eyes of God. The name Gideon means "Mighty warrior". Gideon was called to deliver Israel from the Midianites, but one day Gideon was hiding as they were attacking Israel. God had sent an angel to him saying, "The Lord is with you, mighty man of valor." Gideon replied with a question, "Pardon me, my lord," Gideon replied, "but if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us?" (Judges 6:13).

The Lord responded, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man" (Judges 6:16). After this encounter with the angel, Gideon went and rescued Israel from the enemy with an army, which the Lord had reduced from thirty two thousand men to just three hundred men. The Lord also allowed Gideon to see into the enemy's camp.

In 2018 many prophetic voices are going to emerge. They will be so fine-tuned to the Holy Spirit because they spend time with Jesus and know His Word.
The Lord says: "Just as I did in days past, I will speak to you and lead you in unusual ways. I am raising up those who will prophesy with precision and accuracy. Their ears will be fine-tuned to hear My voice, and they will speak in harmony with My words. I will join them together with other voices as in a company of prophets.
"Don't covet the mantles of the prophets of old, because I am releasing a fresh anointing and new mantles in the days ahead. I am raising up those to begin to see beyond their natural sight and comprehend beyond their natural senses. They will be attuned to the symphonies of Heaven.
"Those who are tuned in to My voice will no longer be led astray by the voices of strangers. They will discern false teachings and false prophets, and they will recognize the genuine from the profane. I will give them keen discernment, and they will learn how to enter into My presence with ease," says the Lord.
Not One of His Words Fell to the Ground

There is another story in the Old Testament about a prophet (seer) named Samuel, whom the Bible says that as he grew, none of his words fell to the ground, meaning that every prophetic word that he spoke came to pass. He heard the audible voice of the Lord as He called him at a very young age. He did not recognize the Lord's voice at first (1 Samuel chapter 3), but then he answered and he became one of the greatest prophets in history.
"So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground." (1 Samuel 3:19)

In the book of 1 Samuel Chapter 9, there is a story of a man named Saul who was also called to be a prophet (seer) with a unique gift. Saul's father, Kish, lost his donkeys and sent Saul and his servant to look for them. They couldn't find the donkeys, but the servant said that there was an honorable man in this city and all that he says surely comes to pass. The story goes on to say that as they were walking, they met up with the Prophet Samuel.
"And he said to him, 'Look now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he says surely comes to pass.'" (1 Samuel 9:6)

God told Samuel the day before, that he was going to meet Saul, and God would tell him everything that is in his heart. When they met, Samuel anointed Saul to be a prophet, and prophesied to him about becoming the king of Israel. He prophesied with such accuracy and precision.

Samuel even told Saul by word of knowledge that his father's donkeys were already found. Samuel told Saul that when Saul would prophesy he will be turned into another man. In the same way, the Lord is raising up prophets, releasing prophetic gifts and using them to proclaim His prophetic words to the nations.
"Samuel answered Saul and said, 'I am the seer. Go up before me to the high place, for you shall eat with me today; and tomorrow I will let you go and will tell you all that is in your heart.'" (1 Samuel 9:19)

Everything Lost Will Be Found
The Lord says: "What you think that you may have lost, will certainly be found. I have set you in a particular direction for a purpose and with a plan. Listen for My voice in times of loss and in times of need.
"There are times that I will meet with you when you least expect it, and speak to you in the places where you would least expect it. You will meet others along the way. Just as Samuel anointed Saul with a flask of oil, I call each one individually, and I have a unique way of bringing each one of you into your destiny.
"Just as I spoke through Samuel, many will become My voice to this generation. They have been marked from a young age and they will soon recognize My voice. Some have been called to be prophets to the nations.
"They will walk in a life of victory because they are Spirit-led and not led by their own fleshly desires. They will enter into this higher dimension, and they will receive the fullness of what I have for them. I will place My word in their mouths, which will bring correction as well as direction, as they carry My word and My glory to the ends of the earth," says the Lord.
"Then the Spirit of the Lord will rush upon you, and you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man." (1 Samuel 10:6)

A Gideon Stood Up in Texas - DAVID LANE/AMERICAN RENEWAL PROJECT

A Gideon Stood Up in Texas

The Texas Legislature heard debate last week on Senate Bill 6, a so-called "bathroom bill" requiring people to use the bathroom or shower facility that corresponds to their biological sex at birth. Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick is leading this charge in the state capitol of Austin.
Dan Forest, Lt. Governor of North Carolina, traveled to Austin to testify before the legislature in support of the Texas bill, which is fashioned after North Carolina's House Bill 2 (HB2). You may recall that last July the National Basketball Association pulled its All-Star Game out of Charlotte to aid a growing boycott of North Carolina that began in opposition to HB2.
The secular left has been on a roll for much of the last decade. As a result, they seem to have developed an exaggerated opinion of their clout, which does not correspond with social and electoral reality.
A popular and cool Barack Obama lied at the Saddleback presidential debate in 2008. Pastor Rick Warren: "Define marriage." Obama: "I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian—for me—for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God's in the mix."
A democratic republic, where ultimate authority and power is derived from its citizens, remains viable only as long as people can, on the whole, rely on candidates and elected officials to tell the truth.
Once Obama was elected president, in flat-out contradiction to his word, he led the U.S. gay rights revolution globally, even using American embassies around the world to promote same-sex intercourse and marriage. This was all in defiance of U.S. citizens who had voted in state-after-state, supporting traditional marriage with overwhelming majorities. Consider:
  • Mississippi—86 percent
  • Tennessee—81 percent
  • Louisiana—78 percent
  • South Carolina—78 percent
  • Georgia—76 percent
  • Oklahoma—76 percent
  • Texas—76 percent
  • Arkansas—75 percent
  • Kentucky—75 percent
  • North Dakota—73 percent
  • Missouri—72 percent
  • Alabama—71 percent
  • Kansas—70 percent
  • Nebraska—70 percent
  • Montana—67 percent
  • Nevada—67 percent
  • Utah—66 percent
  • Idaho—63 percent
  • Florida—62 percent
  • Ohio—62 percent
  • North Carolina—61 percent
  • Michigan—59 percent
  • Wisconsin—59 percent
  • Oregon—57 percent
  • Virginia—57 percent
  • Arizona—56 percent
  • Colorado—56 percent
  • California—52 percent
  • South Dakota—52 percent
With President Obama's encouragement of gay pride parades in major cities around the nation, diplomats taking part in parades around the world, embassies flying the rainbow flag beside the Stars and Stripes, and six openly homosexual ambassadors—Obama and the left were large and in charge. It must have seemed like a small matter to bulldoze over the 61 percent of North Carolinians who voted in 2012 to ban same-sex marriage in their state.
Then a Gideon appeared on the public stage. Dan Forest, although up for reelection in November 2016, stood for the unseen against the seen.
First, the seen: "More than 100 top executives from major companies, including major Charlotte employers like Bank of America, have signed a letter opposing the "anti-LGBT" legislation."
But refusing to be cowed, Forest stated:
What is happening here [in North Carolina] is so much bigger than a basketball game. A sovereign state is being blackmailed by a private business (NBA) who is being threatened by a national LGBT lobbying effort, all to force North Carolina to open female restrooms, showers and locker rooms up to men. All of this was done under the guise of "inclusiveness'" and other politically correct buzzwords. But the reality is that had we not blocked the Charlotte Bathroom Ordinance from going into effect, sex offenders and pedophiles would have had full access to our women and children in bathrooms around the state. I enjoy the NBA and wanted them to hold the All-Star game in Charlotte, but if that game comes with strings attached, strings that would expose women and children to danger, molestation, assault and voyeurism, then no thank you. Take your business elsewhere, and I have no apologies about saying that and never will. The NBA knows the economic hit North Carolina will take from this decision. I wish the NBA would likewise acknowledge the pain, sorrow and devastation a child or woman feels when they are exploited. We will never value a dollar over a woman's or child's safety and security.
It's worth noting that Pat McCrory, the Republican Governor of North Carolina, vacillated on HB2–and that voters did not re-elect him to office in November. In contrast, Lt. Governor Forest "went on to win his re-election by more votes than any other elected candidate in the state, including President Trump."
Which brings us back around to Texas SB 6.
In a stunning turn of events, the Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce president Chris Wallace, the most influential business lobby in Texas, testified before the legislature last week and argued for transgender bathrooms in Texas. Wallace filled his testimony with fear and misinformation, stating that SB 2 "could cost the state up to $8.5 billion and more than 100,000 jobs, according to a Texas Association of Business report."
But then a Gideon appeared on the public stage, in the form of Texas state Senator Kelly Hancock. Watch the 11-minute video above.
We must reestablish prayer in America's churches, led by the senior pastor, if America is to survive. But that said, prayer is not all that is necessary. We have relinquished public education, higher learning, media, big business, federal courts, the Supreme Court and Hollywood to the godless, secular left. Men and women of Issachar must run for local office and bring biblical values to the public square in 2017-2018.
But there is good news, as Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand.

The Great Falling Away - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

The Great Falling Away
Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“Adonai said to Gid‘on, “I will use the three hundred men who lapped the water to save you; I will hand Midyan over to you. Let all these others go back home.”
(Judges 7:7-8 Complete Jewish Bible)

There is a great falling away coming from among those who once walked with the Lord. In fact, it has already started. For decades, it was “popular” to be a Christian. Not so anymore, especially when one considers the numbers who attend a weekly church service. Looking around any given Sunday morning gathering, and in most churches you will see mostly grey hairs; and they are dying off. Sure, there are those churches that are doing well among the youth, but that is an exception. We give thanks for them.

After a major crisis occurs in a nation, the pews do fill back up. But within a few months, or even weeks, the “Crisis Christians” no longer come around. It is back to normal as usual. (We may still have the “C & E” group – Christmas and Easter, but even those numbers are dwindling fast.)

The apostle Paul said that in the end of days there would be a great falling away. We are living in those times.

“Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

Let no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.

Do you not remember that while I was still with you, I was telling you these things? And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

Then that lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will slay with the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance of His coming; that is, the one whose coming is in accord with the activity of Satan, with all power and signs and false wonders, and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but took pleasure in wickedness.” (2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 NASU)

Lest you become fearful, and wonder what is going to happen when so many are gone, let me share a little insight with you. It will inspire you in faith, I believe.

The Lord seems to allow for the reduction of numbers when He has a job that needs to get done. Unlike humans, more is not always better. As my good wife Laurie likes to remind me on certain occasions, “Less is more.” My accounting mind doesn’t always see it that way, but it is true.

Let’s look at a few instances in the Word of God, and see how the Lord chooses to accomplish His purpose, and achieve the final victory.

Take what happened when the Lord decided to flood the earth. He saved a remnant, Noah’s family of eight (Noah, his wife, three sons and their wives) and repopulated the earth with those alone. Looks like that worked.

And what about Gideon’s army, when it came time to defeat the Mideonites? Gideon took as many warriors as he had available, starting with 32,000. By the time the Lord had set up a few tests, the number was finalized at 300. With those remaining, the job got done. Victory was won.

Yeshua (Jesus) chose only 12 who would walk with Him for a little more than three years. Then He released them (even knowing one would be replaced by another) into the world. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, those twelve apostles changed the world.

Jesus also fed the multitudes, with very little. “All we have with us,” they said, “is five loaves of bread and two fish.” He said, “Bring them here to me.” After instructing the crowds to sit down on the grass, he took the five loaves and the two fish and, looking up toward heaven, made a b’rakhah (Hebrew – i.e. gave thanks). Then he broke the loaves and gave them to the talmidim (Hebrew – i.e. disciples), who gave them to the crowds. They all ate as much as they wanted, and they took up twelve baskets full of the pieces left over. Those eating numbered about five thousand men, plus women and children.” (Matthew 14:17-21, Complete Jewish Bible)

The Creator of the Universe can get the job done with very few.

What about the 144,000 in Revelation of Jesus (Revelation 7:4)? That sure is something to consider.

“I heard the count of those who were sealed: 144,000! They were sealed out of every Tribe of Israel: 12,000 sealed from Judah, 12,000 from Reuben, 12,000 from Gad, 12,000 from Asher, 12,000 from Naphtali, 12,000 from Manasseh, 12,000 from Simeon, 12,000 from Levi, 12,000 from Issachar, 12,000 from Zebulun, 12,000 from Joseph, 12,000 sealed from Benjamin.
(Revelations 7:4-8 THE MESSAGE)

There is a great falling away that is coming through the Christian ranks. It will remove the lukewarm as the Lord Himself is going to weed them out. I believe He will then emblaze the remnant with His Holy Ghost fire, and show the world Who is the King of kings and Lord of lords. In the process, millions during that time, yet to be saved for all of eternity, will come into His kingdom, gathered from all the nations.

Are you going to be one of the few? As the Marine’s would say in their motto, I pray you are.

By His grace you will keep committed and stay faithful to the end. It is going to be a battle, but He wins. Stay on His side.

"You're A Messenger of Courage: For Such A Time As This" by Joey LeTourneau - The Elijah List

"And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, 'The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!'" Judges 6:12
"Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" Luke 1:28
As happened with Gideon and Mary in these two instances, my heart has been pulled for the courage rising up within God's children to step into their purpose and calling. It's not just any courage, but a kairos kind of courage that empowers us to leap beyond the hope of our calling and into its appointed time of action and fruitfulness.
It's a crossing over of the mind, and an empowerment of the heart to fully believe, fully receive, and then to seize the purposes and promises we've prayed and waited for as the moment arises.
The last few weeks I've found myself sharing about a quote I hadn't recalled in a long time, from a movie called "We Bought A Zoo." I believe the words are very relevant to us in this time as we learn to seize what God has placed before us:
"You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it." (We Bought A Zoo)
I believe this is a now word for you and me. We are being presented "suddenly" moments, for such a time as this, to step into a breakthrough that is bigger than our hope can comprehend.
These might be moments that look like immense risk or require vulnerability, but we have to seize that incoming wave at the opportune time with fresh courage. (Photo via Wikipedia)
We must realize the breakthrough starts within us – so it can be brought to life all around us – by stepping outside our comfort zone and recognizing the new thing that He is doing now.
Breaking Out of Our Comfort Zone
"I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?" Isaiah 43:19
Often, the hardest thing about receiving something new for us is that it almost always requires something new of us. Those new breaker waves we pray and believe for rarely flow through our familiar comfort zone. They don't stay within our boundaries or control, rather, they are the move of His Spirit calling us to jump outside our self-imposed box and ride the wave of a lifetime.
The above verse from Isaiah is quoted frequently, even hung as a banner to declare the new thing God is ready to do. But how often do we leave off that last part? How often do we turn a deaf ear to the question the Spirit asks us each day when He inquires, "Shall you not know it?"
Will we know the new thing God is doing in, through and around us? Will we recognize His fresh move, beyond our insecurities, critiques or judgments? Will we be able to embrace the very thing we've been praying for when it passes by just outside familiar waters?
If we will, it will take courage.

ElijahList Prophetic Resources

It will require us to be lion-hearted, found among those through the ages who have – like Gideon – lived a courage that is not so much about a valiant charge into battle but about a radical step of obedience that joins God in what He is now doing.
Your Messenger of Courage
The Lord doesn't just send us into such a leap out onto the waters without equipping us.
Like with Gideon and Mary, there are different times throughout Scripture where we see the Lord send a messenger to one of His chosen ones to call them over the chasm that lies between the promises they hope for and the purpose they are created to live.
God goes all in to help us be who He has created us to be, and to prove it, He sends us messengers of courage to strengthen our leap.
"Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree...Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress...And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, 'The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!'" Judges 6:11-12
"Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 'Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!'" Luke 1:26-28
Gideon was addressed as "mighty man of valor." Mary as "highly favored one." It is not coincidence that God called them by such terms not after they completed their purpose, but before. This is how they were addressed from the outset; then God called them to step into the appointed time of their destiny.
You have a Messenger of Courage within you, a Helper, the Spirit of Truth, and He is calling to you like He did Gideon and Mary, already addressing you as beloved and a victor, not just hopeful of such.
He wants to visit you, meet you, and call to the courage He already sees within you. He wants you to see yourself as He does, and He is imparting to you the courage necessary to leap out and seize the moment that is only just beyond your reach.
(Photo via Wikimedia Commons)
The Lord has aligned timing. He has aligned circumstances. He is calling you by a powerful name like "Mighty" or "Favored" to remind you who you are in Him, and that He is with you. For when you know who you are, you'll also know what you are supposed to do.
He calls you by your identity before you discover your victory. So, what is your messenger of courage saying over you?
"Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45

A Remnant on the Rise by Elaine Tavolacci

A Remnant on the Rise

by Elaine Tavolacci

Identity Network

There was a man in the Bible named Gideon who was fearful and weak in his own sight, but mighty in the eyes of God. The name Gideon means "Mighty warrior."  Gideon was called to deliver Israel from the Midianites, but one day Gideon was hiding as they were attacking Israel. God had sent an angel to him saying, "The Lord is with you, mighty man of valor."  Gideon replied with a question, "If the Lord is with us, why did all these terrible things happen?"

The Lord responded, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man. After this encounter with the angel, Gideon went and rescued Israel from the enemy with an army, which the Lord had reduced from thirty two thousand, to three hundred. The Lord also allowed Gideon to see into the enemies' camp. Many of you feel as if an army is rising up against you, but Jesus calls you a mighty man/woman of valor. He is with you to defeat every army and adverse situation that comes against you.

The Lord says; I am raising up a remnant as My mighty men and women of valor. They are those who are students of My word, and will see themselves as I have created them to be. I am calling My warriors who are strong and courageous. I am looking for those who will walk in faith and are not moved by adverse circumstances. They are those men and women who are willing to go to the front lines regardless of what they hear and see in the natural. They will take Me at My word as they rescue and deliver others from the grip of the enemy.

They are spiritually intuitive, and their lives are transparent before Me. They are not moved by bad reports but will continue to advance into all that I have called them to do. They do not dread the unknown, because they know that I have given them everything that they need to accomplish My purpose. They will not become weary as the enemy seems to be battering and relentless. As they seek My counsel, I will give them clear understanding and keen discernment. They will seek Me for wisdom and direction when they are in doubt.

Prayer and Intimacy with Me

They will sacrifice everything for My name's sake, and they are willing to burn their bridges behind them and forget the failures of their past. To them I will expose the plans of the adversary, and they will discern the enemies tactics and recognize his schemes. They will then understand the assignments that was brought against them to distract them, and remove them from their place of authority.

I will show them how to disrupt the plans of the enemy over their life. This discernment that I give will bring wisdom and direction from My word. This discernment will come through prayer and intimacy with Me. Store My word within your heart. In the days ahead you will look back and understand that everything that you have done was not in vain.

Although the armies seem to be gaining ground, I have already equipped you and made a way of escape. Don't allow your circumstances to rule your thinking, but align your thoughts with My word. Do not allow discouragement and despair to wear you down. I have created you and called you for such a time as this. Stand strong in the face of adversity and don't allow anything to divert your attention off your purpose. As you pray and believe, know that your prayers are powerful and effective.

I did not call you to mediocrity but I have called you to be strong and conquer every battle. Submit your lives in total surrender to Me, ask Me and I will give you the wisdom, discernment and understanding for the days ahead. Just as I sent the angel to Gideon with a message, I say to you, rise up you mighty man/ woman of valor and carry out the assignment that I have for you says the Lord.

Judges 6:11-12 Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, "The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!"

Judges 7:13-15 Gideon arrived just as a man was telling a friend his dream. "I had a dream," he was saying. "A round loaf of barley bread came tumbling into the Midianite camp. It struck the tent with such force that the tent overturned and collapsed." His friend responded, "This can be nothing other than the sword of Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite. God has given the Midianites and the whole camp into his hands." When Gideon heard the dream and its interpretation, he bowed down and worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel and called out, "Get up! The Lord has given the Midianite camp into your hands."

Romans 11:5 Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

"Facing Our Problems and Receiving His Healing" - Bob Hartley and Michael Sullivant

"Facing Our Problems and Receiving His Healing"
Bob Hartley and Michael Sullivant, Kansas City, MO
The Elijah List

Intro by Michael Sullivant:

The Lord has graciously visited and encountered Bob Hartley on a number of occasions through the years. These revelations from the Holy Spirit are folding beautifully together into a unified, divine narrative that is meant to inspire and impart a much greater level of hope into the lives, callings, and works of His sons and daughters. It is a "journey of hope." There simply has been too much generalized despair, pessimism, and cynicism lurking around in our hearts and minds when it comes to what we are expecting/not expecting God to do in and though us in this age. Too many of our precious promises of living in our fuller inheritance in Christ have been pushed off, sometimes unwittingly, into future ages.

There is more for us all and the cities and nations of the world in terms of the degree of glory that He wants to manifest in His world before Jesus returns for a Bride fully prepared for him.He is inviting us to discover many more facets of His nature (His faces), and by receiving the specific graces reflected in such faces, we will know so much better how to be, how to live, and what to do.

Bob Hartley's Recent Encounter: "Facing" Our Problems

The Lord will often have me revisit past encounters that I have had with Him and will then add new layers, make new connections, and reveal new applications for what He is unveiling to His children in these encounters. This recently happened in relation to the past visitation I had about how He wants to heal three fissures in the hearts of his hope reformers that Michael and I wrote about in May 2013 (read on The Elijah List).

Those three fissures were rejection, negation, and self-strength. This time He added to the revelation and revealed to me that there is a fourth fissure, in addition to the three others. He identified this resignation.

He said that He has a specific remedy to apply to these fissures so that we can become whole-hearted and energetically advance in this journey of the great hope reformation that has commenced in our generation.

In the first visitation, I saw these healings through the metaphor of Jesus sitting us down on a park bench and applying oil to the cracks in our feet. Those cracks represented these fissures...or cracks...in our hearts. Now He said to me that the remedy is applied to our hearts by "seeing" or perceiving four particular facets...or faces...of His nature. In order to do this, we are invited and challenged by Him to "look up" for Him and at Him rather than just try to forge ahead under such painful circumstances and conditions. He also revealed how one fissure can lead to the next unless we offer it up to Him for His healing touch. (Photo via Pixabay)

How to Heal Rejection

To heal our fissure of rejection, He said to "look up" and see His face as the "God of Peace." Personal rejection can obviously disrupt our sense of peace. Quickly, on its heels, we need to connect with the One who promises to keep us in perfect peace when our mind is fixed on Him. He never leaves or forsakes us. Our trust in Him will turn what the enemy means for evil into a classroom for cultivating hope in the midst of the challenge of feeling rejected. During this visitation, the Lord revealed to me to two examples from Scripture to confirm this divine remedy to me.

First, I saw the angel of the Lord visiting Gideon in Judges 6 to commission him as a reformer. He felt the weight of rejection during this time in his life. He felt terribly insignificant and abandoned by God and the rest of the nation of Israel.

And the angel of the Lord appeared to him and said to him, "The Lord is with you, O mighty man of valor." And Gideon said to Him, "Please, sir, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, 'Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?' But now the Lord has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian."

And the Lord turned to him and said, "Go in this might of yours and save Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you?" And he said to Him, "Please, Lord, how can I save Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." And the Lord said to him, "But I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man." Judges 6:12-16

Then I saw how after Gideon prepared a sacrifice and the Angel of the Lord confirmed the authenticity of the divine visitation, the Scripture declares: "But the Lord said to him, 'Peace be to you. Do not fear; you shall not die.' Then Gideon built an altar there to the Lord and called it, The Lord Is Peace..." (Judges 6:23-24).

Then I was taken to the disciples in the boat during the terrible storm recorded in Mark 4. They were tempted to feel abandoned and rejected by the Lord in this situation, but He showed them the power of His peace and His ongoing commitment to preserve them.

And a great windstorm arose, and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?" And He awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. Mark 4:37-39

How to Heal Negation

To heal our fissure of negation, He said to "look up" and see His face as the "God of Hope."

When we take rejection into our hearts, the precious promises that God has given us in the past for our present and future feel out of reach and their intrinsic power to infuse us with living hope is neutralized. This is negation and it tries to short-circuit our ability to receive, agree with, and confess His hopeful promises over our lives. In such a state, we desperately need to connect with the hope embedded in His promise to always do us good and apply His loving-kindness, faithfulness, and power to our life "in the land of the living" (Psalm 27:13). (Photo via Pixabay)

During this part of the encounter, the Lord had me revisit the accounts of Zechariah and Mary in the first part of Luke's Gospel to illustrate this point.
And Zechariah said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years." And the angel answered him, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I was sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. And behold, you will be silent and unable to speak until the day that these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time." Luke 1:18-20

Zechariah did not receive the promise from God into his heart with a childlike innocence and wonder, and the result was that he was unable to openly and freely confess the hopeful promise of God to others. His voice of agreement with God was silenced for a season. In contrast, Mary, when Gabriel similarly visited her, marveled at God and took the promise into her heart that she would be a special vessel that would give birth to the Hope of the world.

"How will this be," Mary asked the angel, "since I am a virgin? The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail."

"I am the Lord's servant," Mary answered. "May your word to me be fulfilled." Then the angel left her. Luke 1:34-38

Without any false humility, shame, or negation, Mary arose, saw the "God of Hope," and was immediately able to freely agree with, sing, prophesy, confess, and testify of the great things that God was doing in and through her (see Luke 1:46-55).

How to Heal "Self-Strength"

To heal our fissure of self-strength, He said to "look up" and see His face as the "God of All of Life."

Once negation is in operation, we are severely tempted to try to handle life on our own...since God's promises are not apparently "working" for us. Sometimes self-strength can even cleverly disguise itself as the virtues of perseverance, being "principled," and obedience. However, the Lord wants us to honor and confidently confess Him as the One who has gone out into life ahead of us and who beckons us out to discover Him in every aspect of life. We default into self-strength when we doubt that He is always and truly with us and when we are not trusting Him to work everything together for our good. He promises to be with us and relate intimately with us to everything we face in every hour of every day.

In this encounter, the Lord took me back to a painful crisis in my past when I was 15 years old. I was hired by a manager of a pool in the inner city of Kansas City to be a lifeguard because I had shown myself to be a strong and excellent swimmer. However, I was not properly certified. Yet, because they desperately needed the help, I was brought on.

One day, a little boy drowned in the extremely crowded pool and died in my arms after I pulled his body up from the bottom of the pool. It became a big news item in the Kansas City Star, and a drawn out lawsuit ensued for three years. This added greatly to my sadness and feelings of guilt. In reaction, I vowed that "no one would ever die on my watch" again. (Photo via Pixabay)

The Lord showed me how my fissure of self-strength formed and was activated by this event and how a fear-based, performance orientation took root in my life. I was doubtful...and therefore hindered...to see how the Lord was with me as "the God of All of Life," in both good times and bad. He later revealed to me in a powerful visitation that He had always been very close by me throughout my entire life, even in the middle of that tragic situation...though I had not perceived His nearness at the time.

Still, I have struggled to not constantly "stay on duty," and it has been difficult to "get off the lifeguard stand" and allow the new operating system of "the rest of Christ" to lead me, as His child, into every situation of life where He has gone ahead of me, to prepare the way.
Along with others, the Lord gave me these passages during this visitation to illustrate this lesson and to help me "look up" to see His face.

My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore. Psalm 131:1-3

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from His. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:9-11

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka (weeping), they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.Psalm 84:5-7

...And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:20b

How to Heal Resignation

To heal our fissure of resignation, He said to "look up" and see His face as the "God of our Heart's Desires."

Because our own strength and zeal are never sufficient to drive and steer us into the grand purposes that our Father has for us, we will "hit the wall" sooner or later and give up our efforts. Resignation happens both overtly and subtly – sometimes very quickly, and sometimes over time. Essentially, it occurs when we let go of, lose confidence in, and stop trusting Him for the anticipation and fulfillment of a promise of some future good that God has truly given to us to hold and cherish. (Photo via Pixabay)

We doubt that He is the kind of Father that wants to "satisfy the desire of every living thing" (Psalm 145:16) and the one who will "give us the desires of our hearts" if we "delight ourselves in the Lord" (Psalm 37:4). We jump to the paralyzing wrong conclusion that He hasn't "purified our hearts through faith" (Acts 15:9) in Jesus Christ, and therefore our deepest desires must be sinful and selfish. Certainly, we can come up with inferior desires that are not from the Lord, but He is with us to sort these matters out and establish and confirm the pure and true desires that He has placed within us for His honor, our good, and the good of many others.

This is what I want you to do: Ask the Father for whatever is in keeping with the things I've revealed to you. Ask in My name, according to My will, and He'll most certainly give it to you. Your joy will be a river overflowing its banks! John 16:23-24 The Message

In this encounter, the Lord reminded me of how Moses had to overcome resignation from his divine calling as a mighty hope reformer and the promised deliverer of the people of God (see Acts 7:25-29). After fleeing for his life from Egypt, he lived a peaceful life in Midian for 40 years until the Lord visited him and re-commissioned him to his original calling to respond to and satisfy the groanings within the hearts of His enslaved children in Egypt. He is the God of the Heart's Desires of His people, and for all humanity as well.

Then the Lord said to him, "Take off the sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy ground. I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their groaning, and I have come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send you to Egypt." Acts 7:33-34

"...and I will shake all nations, and the Desire of All Nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory," saith the LORD of hosts. Haggai 2:7

This revelation has provided new angles on what it means to "face our problems"! (It has also provided new angels in the process!) The Lord has shown me, on a number of occasions, in dramatic ways, that our fissures might become fractures if we do not allow Him to bring these healings. We will still be able to recover from the fractures, but we will advance more swiftly and easily into the hope reformation if we process the fissures of our hearts before Him as a priority.

May the Lord our God take us by the hand and lead us into new and better pathways and supply us with new, advanced spiritual tools so that we can experience acceleration into this hope reformation journey that will lead to a much deeper knowledge of God and the manifestation of His excellent glories in every sphere of human life under Him.
