Bold Prophecy: Apostolic Women Arise and Pick Up Mantles of Old - JENNIFER LECLAIRE CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Bold Prophecy: Apostolic Women Arise and Pick Up Mantles of Old

Prophetic Insight, from Charisma Media
There's a rich root of revival in Los Angeles—and women were a key part of it.
Assemblies of God history tells us the Azusa Street Revival brought women's ministries to the fore. Indeed, Jennie Evans Moore who married Daddy William Seymour in 1908, was a key figure. Her name is not as well known as Seymour's but she was in the revival trenches with him, along with Lucy Farrow and Julia Hutchins. These virtually nameless and faceless, yet faithful, women helped keep the fire burning.
Maria Woodworth-Etter was a mother figure in early Pentecost—John G. Lake called her "Mother Etter." Her trance-marked ministry helped pave the way for the Azusa Street outpouring and ultimately the birth of a movement that changed the world.
Bold women like Aimee Semple McPherson and Kathryn Kuhlman followed in Mother Etter's footsteps. McPherson's Angeles Temple is still standing in Los Angeles today. I stood behind her pulpit in her home, which the Foursquare denomination she started preserved for historical purposes.

While in Los Angeles, I felt mantles being released; mantles for healing, mantles for miracles—and mantles for apostolic women. I began to prophesy these words:
The time is now, says the Lord. The time is now, says the Lord. The time is now, says the Lord, for apostolic women to arise and indeed they are arising even now. The time is now for apostolic women to arise and take their places in their church and take their places in the marketplace and take their places in their families, in their homes.
The time is now for apostolic women to release the revelation that I've shared with their hearts in the secret places. The time is now for apostolic women to arise and bring forth the revelation of days gone by. The time is now for apostolic women to build upon the revelation, to speak forth, to build, to build, to build and plant in the name of Jesus with the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ backing them; with all of heaven standing with them; with the ministering angels building and working alongside of them.
The time is now for apostolic women to arise in this city and in this region and in the nation and in the nations of the world. For many years apostolic women have sat in the background waiting for permission to prophesy, waiting for permission to take their places and their God-given roles in the body of Christ. And the time is now for apostolic women to come to the fore, working alongside apostolic men and prophetic believers and evangelists, pastors and teachers who have a heart to build, who have a heart to see awakening, who have a heart to see revival impact this land and who have a heart to see the glory of My Spirit go forth in the nations and cover the earth as the water covers the sea.
The time is now. Apostolic women, the Lord says you have permission to rise up, even own and carry the mantle of Aime Semple McPherson, and carry the mantle of Kathryn Kuhlman, and carry the mantle of Maria Woodworth-Etter, and carry the mantle of those great women from generations past who were nameless and faceless.
The time is now. Rise up, says the Lord.

"Comfort: Why the Church Needs Prophecy" -Kirklin Cross, Jr., THE ELIJAH LIST

Prophecy: The Ultimate Result is Comfort or Mental Ease
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. 1 Corinthians 14:3 (KJV)
Encouragement is always welcomed. Exhortation may not come in the form you would like it to be. But the end result of prophecy is always comfort. There may be things you have to go through. There may be instruction. There may be words of caution and warnings. But in the end, comfort.
Comfort:
1. To soothe in time of affliction or distress.
2. To ease physically; relieve:
3. A condition or feeling of pleasurable physical ease or relief from pain or stress:
4. Solace or consolation in time of sorrow or distress: soothing words of comfort.
5. Help; assistance:
6. Something providing ease, convenience, or security: the comforts of modern living.
7. A person or thing that brings consolation or mental ease. (Photo via Pixabay)
Often, we see Jesus and the disciples throughout the Scriptures bringing comfort to people. It came in many different forms, just as the definition describes above. For example, when the father brought his lunatic son, Jesus healed him (see Matthew 17:14-18). In that passage the father came distressed to the disciples, asking them to just help him, and his son was healed.
Lazarus risen from the dead. The blind man healed. Many people comforted from distress and physical illnesses. The prophetic words that went forth in the time of sorrow for Lazarus' family that caused him to rise from the dead. I think the last definition defines one of the biggest things that we as God's children desire most: mental ease. It can be hard to go through life worrying about things to come. How life will turn out. Who you are called to be, etc. One word from God spoken over your life can put your mind at ease in an area you have been concerned about.
How often have you asked God to just give you help or assistance? How often have you asked for relief? God's prophetic word always has comfort in the equation. It may not be comforting in the beginning, but it will bring you comfort at some point.
One of the hardest things to ease at times is one's mind. We are designed to think. I know I myself am often thinking and preparing for what's next. Whether it is in ministry, my family, or even personally, it can cause a lack of sleep. It can cause worry. It can cause one to be angry because they cannot seem to figure out the answer to a problem. Knowing that God is with you, leading you, always brings a comfort to every situation.
Prophecy Helps God's People Know that He is Real
John 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me...
(Photo by Jennifer Page "Washed in His Love"via elijahshopper.com)
Jesus describes the Holy Ghost as the Comforter. He says it is the Spirit of Truth which comes from the Father who shall testify of Him. As people are comforted through prophecy, it helps them believe even more that God is real. It helps them hold on a little longer to the promises of God. People need to know God is still alive. People are waiting for the words to flow from each and every one of God's people that will bring them into a new walk with Him.
Prophecy teaches mankind to trust God. It walks them into the truth, knowing that God is real. Have you ever ministered to someone and they spoke of how comforting it was to hear words of confirmation? It set them at ease to know that they were right where God wants them to be. We live in a time where people are lost and feel as though they have no one to turn to. You may hold in you the necessary words needed to set their minds and hearts at ease. You may hold the words of comfort that will help one keep believing.
ElijahList Prophetic Resources
God is looking for prophetic people to rise up and take their place in the Church once again. No one believes in the Church any more. Where are the next Smith Wigglesworths of the Church? Where is the next William Branham or Kathryn Kuhlman? Who will stand up and take their place? The Church needs prophetic people to rise up.
Moses went to Pharaoh with words that were bold. Words that gave warning and instruction, even unto his son's death. Yet it brought the Israelites comfort to know they were free. Comfort, just like edification and exhortation, isn't always for you – it may be that you are the one speaking the words to another. It may be that someone is speaking them to you. It may be that you are speaking the prophetic word to one such as Moses to Pharaoh, that will bring comfort to someone other than the two, like the Israelites. Ultimately, prophecy helps God's people know that He is real. It testifies that Christianity is real.
The Necessity of Hearing God and Bringing Comfort
Revelation 19:10 (KJV) And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, "See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
John writes that the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy. I find it amazing, while being exiled on the Isle of Patmos, John still hears from the Father. In a time most would be grieving, he was comforted. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)
Revelation 1:10 (KJV) I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet...
We know that prophecy is hearing from our Heavenly Father. So then, the testimony of Jesus, or rather being a Christian, is hearing from the Heavenly Father. That's why Paul said to desire to prophecy. We as Christians, through prophecy (hearing from the Heavenly Father), have the opportunity to walk just as Christ did: proving God's glory. Revealing the hearts of men through prophecy.
We, as Christians, claim to be Christlike. But are we? Are we operating in the spiritual realm? Are we examples of the anointing of God on this earth? Jesus told us greater works shall we do. Yet most sit idle in the Church. We see the same theme throughout the Bible: Christians hearing from God, following His instruction, and bearing fruit. Proving to all that God is real. Yet, we only preach and teach on the things that the mind can fathom. My grandmother once said, "Believe the words you read, don't just read the words you believe."
Much of the Church has fallen away from faith because the Church doesn't apply it anymore. There is no application, only instruction. We lead people to Scriptures but don't teach them how to apply them. No one listens to hear from the Father because "we have it all figured out." We are divided by religions and denominations. We are divided by cultures and belief systems. We are divided by the color of skin. We are divided as a Church in many ways.
John 12:32 (KJV) And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
We are all members of the Body of Christ. We all play a role in the Body of Christ. Jesus was trying to unify all to follow Christianity. His teachings come from a servant's viewpoint. He knew the necessity in hearing God and bringing comfort in whatever form it should be to each and every person according to their need. This is the Church God is waiting on us to become again.
We are in the season where God is ready for His people to stand up again. The Church has been lying dormant with its mouth closed. People have been taught the traditions of men for quite some time. God is doing a new thing. Let it begin with you!

Worship Till The Cows Come Home - Bill Yount

Posted: 28 Jul 2015

My mother's life changed forever in a Kathryn Kuhlman meeting when she was eleven years old. Within ten seconds two miracles broke loose, one on each side of her. She got the mindset early in life: 'This is the way my life is going to be.' And it was for ninety years in spite of some hard times. Interestingly, these miracles happened during worship before Kathryn Kuhlman came to the platform.

Kathryn Kuhlman was known to have lengthy worship services to bring down God's power. She once said, "If you only have ten minutes to pray, worship for the first nine minutes." She knew how the power came into the meetings. Then she would say those famous words: "I believe in miracles!" Then healings instantly would break out all over the place. In the balcony. In the basement as people watched on TV monitors. Atheists who didn't believe in God got healed anyhow.

SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO 'HALLELUJAH' ANYHOW

How about you? Do you feel discouraged and unable to praise Him? Do you need a healing or miracle? Hallelujah anyhow! Worship til the cows come home! Worship til the children and grandchildren come home. Worship til your healing comes. Worship til your deliverance gets here. Most of all worship God for who He is and not just for what He can do. For He is God all by Himself.

I once said to the Lord, "I didn't get a thing out of that worship service." He said, "It's cause I got it all!" Hallelujah anyhow.

The Awesome Power In A Mother's Mantle - Bill Yount

The Awesome Power In A Mother's Mantle - Bill Yount

Posted: 30 Mar 2015
I'm not sure how this works. But I believe a mother's mantle casts a long shadow. I saw my mother's fall during the going away celebration at her church. It then unfurled like a tailor-made garment of love and continued to spread. I believe her mantle is imparting spiritual inheritance to many, even those who never knew her.

My mother, Gertrude Yount, went to be with Jesus on March 2nd. 2015. Multitudes have been touched and encouraged by her many healings and miracles that God gave her in this lifetime. But what I will remember the most about mom is her persevering faith in spite of her many hardships. She found God in the storms of life. She touched so many people with God's love. She was 90 yrs. old. She is now totally healed forever.

 MOM'S SHOELESS ENTRY INTO HEAVEN

Mom had an unusual request when she left this world. She said, "When they lay me in the casket, I don't want them to put any shoes or socks on me. I want to dance on the streets of gold in my bare feet." I called the funeral director and told him mom's unusual request and why. He agreed. Someone came up to me right before mom's funeral and said, "It's going to be hard to fill your mother's shoes." I said, "She doesn't have any."

 HER GIFT WAS LOVE

Just hours before mom met Jesus, my sister visited her and said her face was glowing and she couldn't find one wrinkle on it. She was even walking on her own. One of my brothers stopped by also to see her minutes later. I called her around 7:30pm that evening and she said, "I was going to call you" Her voice was strong and clear. She told me that she had called my other brother Jim and talked to him also. Then within three hours of talking to us children, she left. The last words my brother heard my mother say was: "Tell everyone I love them."

When it came to loving people mom broke the rules. I remember growing up when she took us five kids to church she always squeezed other people into the car like sardines. On Sundays she would pick up a woman and her three kids ( which made ten of us in the car ). Many times mom would holler at us kids in the back seat, "There's a policeman, get down!" She seemed to get away with some things when she was helping people.

 INFLUENCED BY KATHRYN KUHLMAN

At eleven yrs. of age my mother often attended Kathryn Kuhlman meetings in Pittsburgh, PA. She saw unusual happenings that forever changed her life. A huge goiter on her mother's neck instantly disappeared before her eyes. The next second a five year old boy began jumping up and down shouting, "Mommy, where are you? Where are you mommy?" The mother on the other side of the boy said, "Honey, I'm right here." Mom said. "I saw that little boy jump up into his mother's arms and began shouting, "Oh mommy, I can see you! I can see you mommy!" The mother cried, "He was born blind!" My mother got the mindset at an early age: This is the way my life is going to be. And it continued the rest of her life.

She was 4' 11" tall. She found the key to long life. Twice cancer couldn't kill her. The first cancer spreading through her body, the doctors gave her five years to live. That was forty-five years ago. At eighty-seven the second cancer died through surgery. They got it all with no chemo needed. Years ago doctors witnessed a tumor disappear on her thyroid before taking a biopsy. Ten years ago doctors wanted to amputate her one foot. She told them, "Whenever I go to heaven, I'm taking my foot with me!" Later they changed their mind. She kept her foot and walked fine. Most doctors who told her she wouldn't live long are gone. She kept outliving them. Her famous prayer when she got attacked was: "Lord, if I get weak and sick, how am I going to help anybody and reach the lost?" That's it! Then healing would start attacking her.

After receiving that five year death sentence with cancer mom felt led to visit a different church in town. She went with Aunt Sophie. Aunt Sophie has been healed so many times, people thought she was crazy. They arrived early and sat near the front of the church before others got there. As soon as Mom sat down, she felt a hand touch her shoulder, shooting a bolt of electricity down through her body that burnt the hairs off her arms and legs. "I just knew God healed me of that cancer!" she said. They found out later that church didn't believe in healing. I think that's why God healed her before the service started. Mom loved to tell people of her healings and miracles. Then she would stop and say, "But you gotta repent!" as conviction fell on them.

NEW BLOOD IS FLOWING INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST

Late in life my mother had an ulcer on her leg that wasn't healing because of sugar diabetes. Doctors discovered the main artery in her leg was one hundred percent blocked with plaque that prevented the healing. Two doctors wouldn't touch it because she was 90 years old. A third doctor said, "I'm going to try it." ( Sometimes we need to try some things that look impossible.) He told my sister, "I chiseled it. I kept chiseling it. Two days later he called my sister and said, "The blood is flowing!"

When I heard those words, I sensed the Lord saying to the Body of Christ. "The blood is flowing! The blood is flowing! I've been chiseling away at the blockages in your life. The blood is beginning to flow into the legs of my Body." The life is in the blood. Strength in our legs is coming from that blood. We are going to walk in newness of life. Walk in places we have never been. Do things we have never done. Try some things that look impossible.

 AN UNSTOPPABLE PERSEVERING FAITH

"That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." Hebrews 6:12

Mom was a fighter. 'A contender of the faith that was once delivered to the saints.' ( Jude 1:3 ) She fought for what she got. Her strong faith was like a runaway freight train that could not be stopped. In the Spirit mom could take out Muhammad Ali. She seemed to have the gift of faith. But there were times and seasons when God seemed distant, when the healings and miracles weren't arriving on time. But her faith kept going. Mom's answer to heaven's silence was: "I'll be ok. Let's see what God will do." It was these bumps in the road of mom's life that caused her to know the Lord like she did. Her life taught me: There's a whole lot of living between healings and miracles. And a whole lot of living after them. She knew how to run this race of life with patience. "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us." Hebrews 12:1 She ran with patience. Patience was her friend.

Near the end of mom's life she would always tell us. "When I get better, I'm getting my license back." She still blamed the state for taking her license. She told everyone, "They made a mistake about me." I have a gut feeling mom got her license back. I feel like she's driving something up there. Maybe a chariot. "Look out for those speed limit signs mom!"

A faith so strong, yet childlike. I remember when the doctor wanted to amputate mom's foot. She told me her childlike prayer: "Lord, you don't need my foot, and I do."

This story seems to sum up the fabric of my mother's prophetic mantle.

A mother had a little daughter playing down the neighborhood. A storm was brewing and the mother called the neighbor and said, "Send my little girl home quick." The little girl started walking home two blocks away as the storm broke loose. A torrential downpour of rain beat the earth as thunder and lightning came crashing down. As the mother watched anxiously out her kitchen window she noticed every time lightning flashed her little girl would stop and start to smile. Several times as lightning flashed her little girl again would stop and a smile would break out on her face. The mother terrified ran out of the house and down the sidewalk and picked up her little girl in her arms and ran inside the house. As they got into the house, the mother said to the daughter. "Honey, how come every time it lightninged, you just stopped and started to smile?" The little girl responded. "Mommy, all the way home God's been taking my picture!"

Oh, to have a childlike faith. To know in our worst storm, God is taking our picture.

Raise your hands and receive the power in my mother's mantle right now: The gift of faith that only believes and doesn't know how to doubt. The patience that outlasts every storm. And God's love that breaks the rules.

And don't forget to smile. Cause all the way home God is taking your picture.

Blessings,

Bill Yount
