Huckabee: If We're Tearing Down Offensive Things, Why Not Abortion Clinics? - REBECCA DOWNS/FAITHWIRE

Huckabee: If We're Tearing Down Offensive Things, Why Not Abortion Clinics?

Following the fallout of the violence from Charlottesville, many public figures have shared their thoughts about Confederate monuments, though Mike Huckabee's statements took them further.
If Confederate monuments are offensive, so are abortion clinics, Huckabee said.
In an August 17 interview with Fox News, Huckabee expressed his view that state and local communities ought to decide the fate of monuments that might be considered offensive. There can be a slippery slope, however.
When it comes to such monuments, such as those of Confederate soldiers, Huckabee also highlighted the opportunity of learning about "heinous" aspects of American history. "There's something to be said for looking at our history—the good, the bad and the ugly—and being reminded of that which we never want to repeat again," he offered.
Huckabee echoed President Donald Trump's question of asking when it ends with removing statues of figures someone vocally finds offensive. "Where does it stop?" he asked. President Trump tweeted about the potential fallout, resulting in the removal of monuments commemorating Founding Fathers, including Presidents George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.
The statements from Huckabee not only continued this connection, but also took aim at "anarchists" who have taken it upon themselves to take down statues:
Anarchists go and just tear down the statues because they are impatient with politicians doing it. That is not—that is not acceptable behavior; it is vandalism, it is anarchy, and it would be like me saying 'I don't like abortion clinics, so I'm going to go to tear them down because I find them offensive.'
Huckabee is not known for being shy about his pro-life positions. He has, however, followed and worked within the confines of abortion law in the United States to support or sign into law pro-life legislation. Unlike anarchists, he has not sought to tear down abortion clinics merely because he finds them offensive.
While Confederate monuments may offer a glimpse into history, including that which should not be repeated, abortion clinics operate to perform abortions on unborn children, providing no such history lesson, at least not until abortion is eradicated.
Huckabee's statements have not gone unnoticed by abortion-supporting media outlets.
There does not appear to be a clear answer to Huckabee and the president's wondering of "Where does it stop?"
Several kinds of statues, some not even depicting political figures, have been targeted for removal and/or defacement.

Mike Huckabee Fiercely Defends 'God's Land' - CHARISMA NEWS DAVE BOHON

Mike Huckabee Fiercely Defends 'God's Land'

Tonight, Aug.10, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee joins a round table of experts on Trinity Broadcasting Network's flagship talk show Praise to address a topic that is important to millions of individuals around the world: Why Israel Matters.
"It's indisputable that this land is God's land, and it's His land because He chose it," said Huckabee, speaking from TBN's Jerusalem studio. "It's the one piece of real estate that He put His finger on and said, 'Mine.'" He added that when people ask why the tiny Middle Eastern nation is so important, he answers that "it's important because God made it important. It's not important because the United Nations has something to say. It's not important because certain people have fought over it. The importance of it comes from God's designation."
Joining Gov. Huckabee and TBN's Matt and Laurie Crouch for this special program from the heart of Israel are: Samuel Smadja, Israeli native, Messianic pastor and noted Holy Land tour organizer; longtime friend of Israel Mike Hayes from Churches in Covenant International; and Christians United for Israel's Erick Stakelbeck, host of The Watchman With Erick Stakelbeck, airing exclusively on TBN.
Stakelbeck, an in-demand expert on the Middle East, pointed out that the Jewish state is the only example of a free democracy in the Middle East. "Whereas our brothers and sisters in Christ are being beheaded elsewhere in this region, they have freedom of worship right here in Israel, where the Christian population is actually growing." He added that the most important reason for individuals and nations to stand with Israel "is very simple: God says we should. There's no grey area there. God says in Genesis, 'I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you'" (see Gen. 27:29).
As an exciting extra, this Praise program, taped during TBN's Holy Land tour with Hillsong Worship, includes Gov. Huckabee's announcement that he will host an exclusive weekend talk show on TBN beginning this fall. "I'm truly amped about the fact that, starting sometime this fall, there will be a Huckabee show on Trinity Broadcasting Network," said the governor, adding that "it's going to be an exciting opportunity to tell great stories about America and about great people. It's going to be inspirational, informational, edifying, and uplifting—something you don't see on a lot of typical television shows anymore. It's a joy to be part of the TBN family, and I'm excited about it."
Don't miss this special TBN Praise tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central, exclusively on TBN. Find out where TBN is airing near you with our channel finder, or watch TBN on our livestream here.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders - White House Staffer's Boldness for Christ Rattles Mainstream Media - Charisma News

White House Staffer's Boldness for Christ Rattles Mainstream Media

SHAWN A. AKERS  Charisma news
In an age where the mainstream media isn't bashful about attacking believers for their faith in Christ, especially politicians, Sarah Huckabee Sanders makes no apologies.
In the face of a sometimes-hostile press corps, the new White House press secretary says she won't separate her faith from her work—and it's something the press should learn to deal with.
"If you are anybody of authentic faith, then it has to be the primary thing that drives everything you do," Huckabee Sanders recently told CBN's Faith Nation. "Some people say you can separate your faith from your work. I feel very much the opposite. Your faith defines who you are. I'm certainly not going to shy away from it. It's a big part of who I am."
Huckabee Sanders, who took over as White House press secretary for Sean Spicer last month, is the daughter of pastor-turned presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, the former Republican governor of Arkansas. Huckabee Sanders reads from a book of Christian devotionals prior to every White House press briefing.
"[Her faith] is something I'm more than happy to talk about openly," she told Faith Nation. "The only challenge is, sometimes, if it's the right platform, the right environment or the right location.
Like her predecessor, Huckabee Sanders has clashed with White House reporters during her brief stint as press secretary. And like President Trump, she is undaunted in calling out reporters and news coverage she deems biased.
Trump's tendency toward volatility with his words and social media posts presents big challenges for the press secretary.
"I know she's doing everything she can to be straightforward and honest," Mike Huckabee told The New York Times. "I know that she is going to be loyal to a fault. He makes my daughter's job very difficult with some of his tweets."
Some of Trump's comments during his presidential campaign bothered Huckabee Sanders, but she backs the president 100 percent.
"[During the election] we were looking for a commander-in-chief, not a pastor," she told The New York Times. "Oftentimes, people want to make politicians perfect. And that's one of the actual beauties of Christianity—understanding that no one is."

Governor Mike Huckabee, 2016 presidential candidate, received the Friend of Zion award at gala event in Jerusalem. Dr. Mike D. Evans, founder of the Friends of Zion Museum in Jerusalem, presented him with the award for his support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people. Huckabee said: "Anybody who is going to Israel should go to see the Friends of Zion Museum. It is just remarkable and is getting so much buzz in Israel and abroad."
Huckabee also visited the interactive FOZ museum tour in order to learn firsthand about the long history of friendship and cooperation on non-Jewish people of all religions helping the Jewish nation in the last 200 years, including the holocaust as well as through the reformation of the state of Israel.
Mike Huckabee joins many prominent political, religious, business, entertainment and sports figures who champion the museum's value and impact. During the museum's first year, the museum hosted tens of thousands of people from around the world, from school students to a Nobel Laureate, and from senior statesmen and women to NBA basketball stars. (To see a video of many such visitors, go here.)
The Friends of Zion (FOZ) Museum was established with the vision of serving as a bridge, enabling people from around the world to join the scores of people throughout history who have supported the people, the promise and the State of Israel.

Mike-Huckabee-
Mike Huckabee has some strong words for Obama’s recent back-stabbing act towards Israel. As he says, “This is not about Democrats, Republicans. Left, right. This is about right and wrong. This is about evil, good.” Such strong and supportive words. He ACTUALLY gets it! He does’t even want to call Israeli communities “settlements” because that undermines the fact that the land has been Jewish Land for thousands of years! God gave the Jewish People the Land of Israel! You can’t argue with that.

Move the Embassy! - Jim Fletcher BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

Move the Embassy!

The transition period for the new Trump administration is comical. The media are howling if he doesn’t name all his cabinet picks in 30 minutes. Of course, if he did that, they’d scream that he wasn’t deliberate enough.
One interesting discussion at the moment is a potential role for Mike Huckabee. The former Arkansas governor is rumored to be in line for the ambassadorship to Israel.
That’d be a great pick.
In an interview with Eric Bolling at FOX, Huckabee said that, in fact, he had not discussed that position with Trump. The media had been reporting late this week that the deal was sealed. Somebody is not telling the truth!
But in the event Huckabee is installed as ambassador, does that make it more likely the U.S. embassy will be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem?
We don’t know.

Huckabee denies report Trump chose him as ambassador to Israel - THE JERUSALEM POST

Huckabee denies report Trump chose him as ambassador
to Israel

"Media buzz that I was named Amb to Israel is NOT true. Was never discussed with PE Trump," Huckabee tweeted in response to a Daily Mail report citing a presidential transition official who said that Huckabee would be the United States' top diplomat in Israel during the Trump administration.
The Daily Mail had initially cited the source as saying Huckabee's first order of business as ambassador would be transferring the US embassy in Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.Huckabee met with the president-elect Friday at Trump Tower in New York. When asked by reporters why he was meeting Trump, Huckabee said "I'm just here for the Starbucks," the Daily Mail reported.

He further stated that "the only person giving out jobs in this building is President-elect Donald Trump, not me."

Israel's ambassador to the US Ron Dermer had reportedly met with several ambassadorial candidates on Thursday and offered Trump his advice for the post, according to the Daily Mail.
