My Encounters with Anti-Semitism - Dennis McCleod

Shalom,

Over the last 30-plus years, I have encountered and suffered from anti-semitism bias, even to the point of having our house attacked, because of our support of Israel. Here are some thoughts on this situation sweeping the world today.
Blessings

Dennis McCleod

My Encounters with Anti-Semitism

By Dennis McLeod

My first encounter with anti-Semitism was before we lived in Israel, here in New Zealand, from a visiting minister of a church stationed in Jerusalem. The words he spoke, I didn’t fully understand at that time; he was clearly trying to relay to the audience that the Jewish people should not be in Israel. A few years later, while serving in Bethlehem, anti-Semitism was very clear among several of the ex-pats working in the area. Once, an ex-pat American lady verbally attacked me for learning Hebrew while living in an Arab area. This lady also openly confessed that there should be no Jews in this area, to which my Penny replied that there would be no Jews in this area if they hadn’t tried to get them out of that area. The lady stopped talking.

After leaving Bethlehem, we joined a ministry called Christian Friends of Israel and looked forward to serving the Lord in this new capacity with a smile and joy. A Christian Arab friend in a Bible college, or someone I classed as a friend, said I had to tell them to change their name; in other words, Christians shouldn’t be friends of Israel. Something many Hamas-supporting Christians would agree with today. I have been cursed at and told I am unsaved by such people for supporting the Jewish people.

The first question I was asked at our new position with Christian Friends of Israel was, ‘Why does New Zealand always vote against Israel at the UN?’ Something I was very ignorant of, as this was 1994, just the start of our thirty-year journey of education on the ‘subject’ of Israel and its situation in the history of the Middle East.

We have been asked on several occasions, "What are you doing for the Arabs, both in Israel and here in my home country?". During the 18 months we were working for the Arabs in Bethlehem, no one ever asked us, ‘what are you doing for the Jews’? Back in NZ, we met a Jewish lady, who in the 1920s, as an 8-year-old, was called a Christ killer; she had to ask her mother what was meant by what was said. In NZ, I encountered two men I knew and found to be Jewish, but they would not open up to me before knowing what we had been doing in Israel.

While we were in Bethlehem, there was no security barrier at that time, Jewish rubbish collectors stopped entering the area because of the attacks; a Jewish truck driver delivering petrol was shot dead, Jewish guards on work sites were killed, in Jerusalem, a man was killed waiting for a bus, and girls were attacked in a schoolyard; and Christians were attacked in Bethlehem. Shortly after we moved into Jerusalem, the bus bombings started. First in Tel Aviv, then Jerusalem, and attacks on people around the country, on people waiting for a bus.

In restaurants and pizza parlors, celebrations were bombed, and men, women, and children were killed or maimed for life. The list goes on, and this does not cover what has taken place over the last 100 years, long before Israel became re-established in their ancestral land. Especially since our time working with and for the Jewish people in Jerusalem.

First, the Arabs used terror as an attempt to prevent the Jewish people from returning to Israel, then war and intifadas; this all failed to remove the Jewish people from the land. A new tactic was required to claim the land for themselves. During the 6-day war and the 1973 war, it became clear to Arafat that he could not win on the battlefield, so he went to the media. Here, he claimed and published that he and his people were the true inhabitants of the land.

With this, he played on the fact that very few people knew, or still do, that few protesters, or church members, understand the history of the land, its name, and how and when the ‘West Bank’ came about. That’s another paper. This move has been very successful over the years. Today, we see the same tactic being used in different arenas.

Hamas attacked with the plan to destroy Israel, the plots of Iran to use Hamas, Hizballah, the Houthis, and others failed. Once more, they have turned to the hearts and minds and ignorance of the public, through the media. First, it was genocide, but with the massive population increase since Hamas took control of Gaza and with no evidence of such an act during this war, once more, they have to employ something else to play on the anti-Semitism boiling just under the surface of society.

They have the final ace up their sleeve, the hunger card. Convince the world it’s Israel’s fault that the people of Gaza are starving, with false pictures and false narratives, hiding the fact that they themselves are preventing the food distribution with the help of the UN, which evidence is now showing they have been, and it’s working. Why? Because when anti-Semitism is hovering just below the surface, it takes little shaking of the heartstrings to bring it to the surface. They have learnt well from history, where we are in the same old mindset of, It’s happening, it’s bad, Jews are involved, they must be at fault.

Since October 7th, the anti-Semitism displayed in New Zealand has been appalling, from the person in the street all the way up to the Prime Minister. Witch hunts of the Jewish people have been openly called for, with the silence of the government deafening. In 1947, the then-prime minister, Peter Fraser, voted yes to the UN partition plan because he saw the need of the people. Whereas Holland, the leader of the opposition, would have voted no, as he was influenced by commerce with the Arab nations.

Today, our government is following the lead of Holland because of the international trade in the Middle East. Being totally blinded by trade deals, which are being exploited by Arab nations, through lies and false information given out by Hamas. Governments are blinded by their feelings towards the Jewish people and have no idea about how negotiations work in the region or the fact that Islam can lie to infidels, especially in times of war.

It must be remembered what has been said by Arafat in the past, Hamas, and others now: ‘First the Saturday people and then the Sunday people.’ They have also stated they will fly their flag over every synagogue and church in Jerusalem. Arafat also stated that the Oslo Accords were a temporary action until their strength increased. They themselves have warned us and continue to warn us of their plans for Israel and the world.

Having witnessed the events in Bethlehem during that time, I saw the victory celebrations, which brought together adults and children alike. What they said and their actions about peace treaties—nothing signed means peace, simply a lull to regroup for the next stage of invasion, as demonstrated by Hamas since they came to power in Gaza. Islamic leaders have stated. Give it five years or fifty years; time is on our side, and we will take over. I would advise all leaders to pay very much attention to their rhetoric, for what they say they mean.

Nothing the PLO, Hamas, or any other group has signed in the last fifty years has been honoured. Israel has made several peace offers, but all they have received in return is destruction. When will it end? A question that has been asked by many. Maybe when Hamas lays down its arms and releases the hostages, or when Israel lays down its arms. However, the results of the latter option have been demonstrated by Hamas, when Israel, believing things were quiet on the border, stepped back, believing a peace could be settled in the area.

The Blood of the Lamb - Dennis McCleod, New Zealand

Hello All,

I've been very busy, so I'm a bit behind. Sorry if there are any mistakes in this message; I was in a rush to finish it before the end of the day. However, here it is, love and blessings to all. Shabbat Shalom, and May His peace be upon all.

Dennis McLeod, New Zealand

The Blood of the Lamb

How can we be covered by the blood of the Lamb
Hebrews 10:19-22

"Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."

We are told that without the Blood of the Lamb displayed upon us, we too will be passed over like the Egyptians and be lost. Why else would the Lord put such emphasis on the story of the Passover, if it was not to warn us of what is to come?

I have been thinking again, yes, I know, a dangerous thing. We are told we are washed by the blood of the Lamb, but when, how? It is only through Him that we gain our strength. So, when do we come into contact with the blood of Jesus to gain His strength to face the world? Some say at Baptism, as the water flows over us a symbol of being washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, and this could be right.

Being born again, yes, but this is a Spiritual rebirth. This is a whole different subject, for another day. Let me suggest another time, Jesus said to take up our cross and follow Him? How can we, for we are weak, and He is strong.  It is only by surrendering to Him in our weakness that we can face tomorrow.

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Jesus said, Take up your cross and follow Me. [Matthew 16:24-26] Knowing what He went through, for us mere humans, is an impossible task to achieve, when we examine scripture, considering the crucifixion process that our Lord endured.

Can we really take the insults, the beatings, the scourging, the pain of the nails through our flesh, holding us to the cross for hours, waiting to die?

The good news is, we don’t have to. Jesus gave us a way out. He did it for us, then He covered us with His blood, so we don’t have to endure the pain of such a death.

Jesus carried the “Yoke” of the cross, from the Roman praetorium, beaten and wounded. During that time, and when He was hoisted up for all to see what happens to sinners, His blood would have rubbed off onto the cross. The cross we are told to carry does not have our blood upon it. But the cross we are told to exchange it for is covered with His blood. Take my Yoke, Matthew 11:29

Just like when Simon of Cyrene carried that Yoke, the blood of the Saviour, from His wounds, would have rubbed off on him. Because Jesus took our place on the Cross. [1 Peter 2:24]

Any blood we now see on the cross, we exchange it for the blood of the Lamb, the sinless one who took our sins and was crucified, removing all condemnation. [Romans 8:1] When we take up our cross it is the blood of the Lamb that washes over us, not ours, accepting this, we are set free from what was to be.

Our blood is sinful, His is sinless. [1 John 1:7] He washes away every sin and makes us clean. [Hebrews 9:13-14] Washes us whiter than snow. [Psalm 51:7] Knowing this is Good News for whatever we face in the future. We are carrying the blood-soaked Yoke of Jesus, showing we are forever under His divine grace, giving us the strength to face anything that comes our way.

We can go forward in confidence, washed by the Blood of the Lamb, [Revelation 7:13-14] as this world is not our home, because our future is in Heaven. Philippians 3:20

Am Israel Chaim - Dennis McCleod, Christian Friends of Israel New Zealand

Am Israel Chaim - Dennis McCleod, CFI-New Zealand

It is interesting that at the moment, the number of world leaders who are deciding not to step over the line and side with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to stand with Israel, is growing. Moses said, "Those who are for God step over here," and those who didn't failed to reach the promised land. To be born again is to be totally for God's Word and all it stands for, without questioning the bits you do not like or understand. Yeshua said – "I am the way, the truth, and the life" [John 14:6]. He is the Word made flesh, and when He speaks, He speaks from the Word that He, according to John 1:1, has manifested through.

To go against this Word is to go against God Himself. We read in the Book of Obadiah about what happens to those who oppose Israel, in light of the Truth of God and His Word. To claim to be born again and to say that Yeshua made mistakes, and did not mean what He said, is to read the Word from a humanistic perspective and not through the Holy Spirit's power.

Only when we surrender ourselves to His will can He then reveal all things to us. [John 14:26] It has been reported that there is a very high percentage of American evangelicals who do not believe God gave Israel to the Jewish people. Is it any better in any other country?

Many years ago, I attended a meeting in our city where the Dean of a Cathedral in Israel stated that the commandment, thou shalt not kill, can mean anything you want it to mean. He was trying to draw a parallel between this scripture and those that said the land had been given to the Jewish people, which was clearly against. In other words, we can interpret any scripture to follow our personal beliefs. Where does it say in the Word that we can change His commandments, no matter where in scripture they can be found; in fact, the Word clearly warns us from doing this. [Revelation 22:18-19]

God has purchased us with the Blood of His firstborn, Yeshua, and this happened while we were still sinners. [Romans 5:8] He did not wait for us to repent but met us in our darkness and then brought us into the light through His love and grace. God then placed Yeshua at His right hand, and He became our only advocate with the Father, [1 John 2:1]

"What you ask in my name I will give you." [John 14:13] It is evident we can only be genuinely following the Lord if we are prepared to be totally obedient to the Father without doubting His Word. Obedience comes from hearing, believing, and obeying , not by questioning the truth of what Yeshua said or did; we must remember, He is the truth.

In John's Gospel, Yeshua says many times, "I am telling you the truth."  He is the way; He is the shepherd of the flock.  If we claim to be a people who God purchased by a very painful price, as He watched His sinless Son, the guiltless one, die for the sins of the guilty, to bring life to the world. [John 3:16-17] Then call into question His actions, are we true followers or telling Him He has it wrong?

God has every right to expect us to try to be holy as He is Holy [Leviticus 19:1-2], and we do not achieve this by good works, but by surrendering to the one who set us free from the punishment that lay in our path. To be born again is a privilege, not something that we can claim for ourselves and then stand with God’s attackers.

By attacking the Jewish people, the Apple of God’s eye, [Zechariah 2:8] is a direct attack on Elohim Himself. To be born again is to be saved by grace, a free gift of God. If we attack or abuse His chosen people,  who were chosen above all others, Deuteronomy 7:14 and confirmed in Deuteronomy 14:2 with a stronger explanation, something even many Christians call into question.

God’s Word has been proven correct, time and again. I am reminded again of the words my Penny once spoke. God has been proven correct in the things I do understand; therefore, He must be correct in the things I don’t understand.

With this philosophy, we can move forward in the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding [Philippians 4:7], with confidence, knowing that Elohim guides us in all things, and standing with the Jewish People gives us confidence that we are on the right side of His-story.

God had His son die in our place that we might not only live, but come into a knowledge of Him and His Word through the power of the Holy Spirit, [John 16:7-8] If we go against Israel. The promises of God for that nation are that we are really falling under the power of the Holy Spirit, or the influence of the world?

We cannot claim to be born again, baptised by the Holy Spirit, then stand with God's enemies against the nation of Israel, working to destroy the Jewish people. People claiming to be Christians have abused us several times because we stand with the people of the book, as proclaimed by the very book they claim to follow.

Living in Bethlehem,  I have seen and heard many things, PLO flag flying from a Bible college, anti-Jewish statements, suffered abuse from ex-pats just for studying Hebrew while working for the Arabs, and more.

The Word of God either stands forever, or it doesn't. Isaiah 40:6-8, which is repeated in 1 Peter 1:24-25, tells us it does. Yeshua clearly stated it is everlasting, [Matthew 5:17-18] for which we can be forever grateful. As I have stated at meetings, it is our time to stand, step over the line in the sand, and stand with the Lord, standing tall and clearly stating, Yam Israel Haim. The people of Israel LIVE.

Dennis McLeod from New Zealand - "Chapter One and Chapter Two"

Dennis McClead and Steve Martin at the Billy Graham Library, May 31, 202,5 in Charlotte, North Carolina

Hi y'all, the common phrase from Texas, I even have the hat to prove it.

Yes, they may speak another language over there. A report will be forthcoming regarding the trip to the conference, but in the meantime, here is a thought from one of my many.

Flights, from 50 minutes to 17 hours. No wonder I came down with a cold oncI was e ho;e, the elderly body may have needed a rest.

Blessings to All,

Dennis McLeod

Chapter One and Chapter Two

During my recent trip to the Christian Friends of Israel conference in America, I sat next to a young secular Jewish man on one of the many flights. We spoke about the Bible, and something he said gave me something to think about. He referred to the Old and New Testaments, as we call them, as chapters one and two. Through this statement, I thought of the general novel one reads, and who reads. The second chapter ignores the first.

In the modern church, there are a lot of people who totally disregard Chapter One as irrelevant; in fact, a lot of the rioting called peaceful protests, as stated by the MSM, are being carried out by people who claim to follow God's word. I can make this statement, as I have spoken to several on the protesters' line, who claimed to be Christians. In fact, I have come to the realization that the very reason many of these protests are carried out on Saturday is because many of those who are downvoting Israel on Saturday go to church on Sunday!

A similar occurrence has happened before in my life; eighty years ago, the same thing was happening. When a lady in a meeting says, the Jewish people have been suffering under the persecution of Christians, since the time of Jesus, we can't deny that this has taken place. A man who survived the Sobibor Death camp and the large escape, when a few hundred desperate people fled the horrors of the camp, was later murdered by the Polish Underground, just because he was Jewish.

On my first visit to the Holocaust Memorial, Yad Vashem, in Jerusalem. I heard a young tour guide speaking to a large group of Israeli youth. As I listened, I heard several discourses about how the Christians had done this and how they had done that, none of which could be refuted. Many Jewish people who survived the Holocaust camps told of how the guards murdered their people in the chambers one day, then followed this up the next day with Christmas carols as they continued with their lives as if nothing had taken place.

Many of these atrocities have taken place because the church has failed to teach from the Word of God to bring the people into a Biblical understanding of the truth, instead directing the people into a world view of what you need to claim, and live a good life. However, to be good, there must be a standard by which to judge our morality and actions, of course. Even the true Bible Believer, this standard is the life of Jesus. However, in the modern age, people are always looking for someone to blame for the ills of their lives.

Instead of directing the congregation to raise themselves to work to the standard of the positivity of Jesus. We have been taught to look down from our Ivory Tower to where our troubles have started and who possibly could have caused them. To cite a more recent example, this is what was done in Rwanda and Cambodia, and we are all aware of the consequences. Of course, we are saved by grace, but surely the words of Jesus should always be a focal point, as in p'ases such as 'take up your cross'and follow Me.' This should be a reminder to nevWorldok back [Luke 9:62] to the world, remembering whaLot'spened to Lot's wife when she did. [Genesis 19:26]

Yes, the reason we are here at this point in time is that we have been more than encouraged, in fact, we have been told, in many cases, to totally disregard the first chapter of the bookWhoeverer reads chapter 2 of a novel without reading the opening chapt, er whichlays typicallys out the introduction and plot of the story.

But that is precisely what the church has done over the centuries. They have not only convinced the church population that chapter one is not essential, and even unnecessary, that everything in the chapter is bad, including the people, with stateme'ts tha' they 'killed' Jesus, and because of their disobedience, God has discarded them. Which could not be further from the truth, [Jeremiah. 31:35-3 31:35-3Thereere are far too many references to the contrary to list.

Becausdon'tthis, we don't just have the attacks on the Jewish people today, we have many within the church rising up calling for the annihilation of a total race of people, just as Haman did in the time of Esther. [Esther 3:1-] Chapter one gives the rules and regulations on how to live and behave, preparing us for Chapter two. Chapter Two presents the very God'susion of God's plan and direction, preparing us for what is to come. We start with the beginning of the promise, if only we would follow the word in Chapter 1, which is followed by the fulfillment of the promise in Chapter 2.

We have to God'sw all of 'od" word as 'All' Scripture is essential, not just the second chapter. [2 Timothy 3:16] To defeat the evil world, life, in society, and the World. How else can we be ready to speak of the hope we read about within the scripture, which is a light unto our path and a lamp unto our feet, [Psalm 119:105] which is written in Chapter One.

We need to put on the whole armor of God, not just half of it! [Ephesians 6:10]- The cry in much of the world today is, they will destroy first the Saturday people and then the Sunday people. We are called, both Jew and Gentile, the people of the book. Arafa claimed that the PLO flag would fly from every Synagogue and Church.

We need toWorld the word up high for all thWorldld to see, Jew and Gentile together as one new man [Ephesians 2:15-16] with the dividing wall destroyed, divided we will fall, But walking arm in arm towards the Messiah as Messianics ready to applaud Him as He descends on to the Mount of Olives, will give us the strength to finish the race to receive the prize. [1 Corinthians 9:24]

As laid out in both Chapter One and Chapter Two of the Bible.

Amen

"A New Sound and a New Season: A Word for the United States" - Nathan Shaw, Dunedin, New Zealand

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:
Steve ShultzThis word from Nathan Shaw of New Zealand is "power-packed" with revelation straight from the Throne of God. Many have been saying that we are getting a "new sound" and that's both over the Church and over our nation.

I always appreciate when prophetic voices from other nations write about the USA...as we know our great nation is on the hearts of many!

Nathan shares this powerful word:

As I began to call forth a new sound over the United States, a powerful spiritual authority came on me. I started doing something I had never done before. It was like I was reaching into President Trump's voice and pulling out the new sound. With authority, I kept reaching in and declaring, "I call forth the new sound! I call forth the new sound!" As we pray like this, the new sound will come forth with greater anointing, authority and clarity. We have authority to call forth a new sound over the President, the Congress, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the Media, and the Church.

God is reminding us over and over of our true priestly anointing and the authority we DO carry to bring great change!

"A New Sound and a New Season: A Word for the United States"

by Nathan Shaw, Dunedin, New Zealand

The political situation in the United States is full of contention and strife. The primary issue is not politics. There is a spiritual battle raging. The real issue is the destiny of a nation. Into this situation, God is calling His people to exercise priestly authority. Priests have spiritual authority (1 Peter 2:5, 9, Revelation 1:6, 5:10). In praying for the United States, God led me to do two things:

1. Call forth a new sound.
2. Take authority over the air waves.

The Bible talks about a new song (Psalm 33:3, 40:3, 96:1, 98:1, 144:9, 149:1, Isaiah 42:10, Revelation 5:9, 14:3). Interestingly, this new song is connected with a change in the atmosphere and a change in spiritual government. Israel's King David carried this new song. He was used by God to call forth a new sound over the nation of Israel. Contention and strife were replaced by proclamation and praise. The atmosphere over Israel changed dramatically. The destructive force of internal conflict that was tearing the nation apart was replaced by a national resolve to confront their true enemies.

Taking Authority Over The Air Waves

The second step God led me to do was to take authority over the air wavesSpiritual government is released through air waves. Air waves carry voices, sounds and attitudes. These voices, sounds and attitudes, become seeds that bring forth a harvest. Satan is called the prince of the authority (Greek exousia) of the air (Ephesians 2:2). But satan is not the only authority operating. There is also the authority of the new sound which carries both the government and the heart of God.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul highlights the real battle, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). The battlefield where this "wrestling" takes place is the air waves. That's why the weapon that combats demonic agendas is the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, wielded with authority and anointing (Ephesians 6:17). God's Word carries His government and His heart.

When demonic agendas are clamoring for attention, they dominate the air waves and leave little room for anything else. We can take authority over the air waves so that they are cleared and set apart for godly agendas. We don't have to be intimidated by the contentious sounds that are coming from the media, the government, or the arts. The priestly authority God gives us is much greater.

A New Season

When Israel stepped into the land of Canaan, they entered into a new season. With this new season there was a different sound. While they wandered in the wilderness for forty years, things were relatively calm. They lived under a continual grace from God that released the basic provisions that they needed. They spent this time in barren and sparsely occupied regions. This meant that they caused little contention with other nations. When Israel stepped into Canaan, this changed. Now there was an anointing to possess the land. Israel moved from maintenance anointing to change agent anointing. That was a big shift. It caused an uproar. Change often does.

The United States is in a season of change. For some it can seem like God was in the relative calm and quiet of the previous season and not in the uproar and chaos of the new season. But realize that sometimes chaos is actually caused by God. It's time to move into the new season. Don't be intimidated by the chaos.
Step into your priestly authority and call forth God's purposes. Call forth the new sound. Take authority over the air waves. Foundations are shaking and will continue to shake. Old foundations will unravel and disintegrate. New foundations will come forth. God is setting things up for a great awakening. Great shaking will be followed by great awakening. It's gonna be huge!
