Walk With Me - Steve Martin at Antioch International Church, Fort Mill, NC Oct. 28, 2018

Now that my good wife Laurie and I have come back to Antioch, after a 4-year hiatus (returning in May 2018) I am even more excited about what the Lord has done, and what He will do.

In late August 2018, I was then asked to join the staff to serve in an accountant's and executive pastoral assistant's role. I did so beginning Oct. 1, 2018, and am very happy to serve with the "young" pastors and leadership of Dr. Peter and Joy Wyns, Pastors Jesse and Liz Enns, Matt Wyns, Mike and Robbie Stephens, Mari Vance, and Renee Mills. Plus the 50+ volunteer's directors!

Come visit if you are in the area. You may just end up making it your home family church.

Greetings my friends,

Yesterday on Monday, August 21, between 2 pm - 2:45 pm in Charlotte, North Carolina where I live and work, I experienced the "Great American Eclipse" as it was called here. We were not directly under the path of the moon as it crossed between earth and the sun, but we did see over 97% of the sun blocked by the moon during this time. The 95F temperature cooled at least 5 degrees during the peak of the eclipse.  But what impressed me the most was that even with less than 10% of its rays reaching our portion of this planet during this time, it still seemed like full daylight! As I told Laurie later, if you didn't know an eclipse was occurring, you may have thought just a cloud was passing overhead.

As I looked through my Canon PowerShot camera while using the special glasses for the event, the Lord kept impressing upon me that yet when only a small portion of His light gets through the darkness, He still fully lights up the world! His immense glory cannot be hidden or kept from bringing the word of salvation and life to those He loves; these that are in all the nations.

As He continues to call the people to repentance, my heart is that many will "see" and hear His calling forth their names to come to Him. We, as part of His body, are called to be an extension of His arms of love. We are also to be the lights in the darkness around us, which will draw all men and women unto Him.

Be encouraged on the job today, as you are a light, just by your presence and the aroma of the Holy Spirit working through you. People are watching, listening and will respond in due time.

Ahava and shalom,

The Great American Eclipse, a sign to America about its need for God, still gave off much sunlight even as 90% of the sun was blocked by the moon over Charlotte, North Carolina at 2:40 pm on Aug. 21, 2017.

This is an example of the same for believers, working in the darkness among those on the job or in their schools.

Studio Asked Him to Direct The New BEN-HUR Film and He Said 'No Way' Without this Change - GRACE HILL MEDIA CHARISMA NEWS

Studio Asked Him to Direct The New BEN-HUR Film and He Said 'No Way' Without this Change

Director Timur Bekmambetov says he has honored to be asked by MGM to direct the studio's reinterpretation of the classic novel BEN-HUR: A TALE OF THE CHRIST, filmed for the big screen twice before. But Bekmambetov only took the job after he was certain he could implement his vision for spotlighting a different theme from the 1880 novel than the famous Charlton Heston version of the film did.
"The 1959 movie was about revenge, not about forgiveness," Bekmambetov told the entertainment Web site COLLIDER. "For me that was the main problem; I think that the novel is mainly about forgiveness, about the fact that a human being learned how to forgive."
When Bekmambetov saw the script and talked with producers, including Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, the team behind THE BIBLE miniseries, he felt the other filmmakers had the same thoughts about the movie and the same morals about life. What emerged, then, is the epic story of Judah Ben-Hur (Jack Huston), a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala (Toby Kebbell), an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves (Nazanin Boniadi), Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but an encounter with Jesus (Rodrigo Santoro) leads him to the Crucifixion, where he discovers forgiveness and finds redemption.
That change in heart for Judah fueled by his interaction with Christ, is what gives the new movie it's power and relevance to today's audience, Bekmambetov says.
"Our modern world actually reminds me very much of a huge Roman Empire," he explained to COLLIDER. "In the Roman Empire, the most important important values were pride, rivalry, power, strength, the dictatorship of power and self-love. This kind of world does not have any prospects today.
"Humanity has to learn how to love and forgive."
