One of Israel's Seven Species Scientifically Found to Help Remedy Many Illnesses - GALILEE GREEN CHARISMA NEWS

One of Israel's Seven Species Scientifically Found to Help Remedy Many Illnesses

GALILEE GREEN  CHARISMA NEWS
Bible believers know that studying the Word of God is good for you. What might come as a surprise is that one particular food discussed in the Bible contains a wide array of hidden health benefits. This is becoming increasingly clear as scientists discover more and more positive health benefits from consuming extra-virgin olive oil.

Sorting Olives in the Galilee

"Olive oil is the only vegetable oil that can be taken as it is, just by cold pressing the pure oil out of the olive without heavy processing, heat or chemicals," said Rabbi Shmuel Veffer to PNW. "This is one of the many miracles we glean from the olive, one of Israel's seven holy species discussed in the Bible."
Rabbi Veffer and Nili Abrahams are co-founders of Galilee Green, an Israeli company that produces premium boutique olive oil for worldwide distribution. Galilee Green is well aware of the unique health benefits of extra-virgin olive oil and has even included a "Wellness" section highlighting this important information on the company website.
"The Bible is replete with references to the importance of olive oil," continued Rabbi Veffer. "Also, in ancient Egypt, olive oil was so valuable that it was used in the payment of wages."
"A land of wheat, barley, grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey"
(Deuteronomy 8:8).
To date, extra virgin olive oil has been scientifically found to aid in the prevention of obesity, heart diseasediabetesvarious cancers, osteoporosis, Alzheimer's disease and more. Studies of the benefits of olive oil have come out of some of the most respected scientific research in the world.
Modern-day interest in the health benefits of olive oil increased when it was discovered in the 1940s and 1950s that those who follow the Mediterranean diet decrease their risk of early death from cardiovascular disease by 9 percent. A 2014 follow-up study credited an elevated consumption of olive oil with reducing the risk of cardiovascular events and stroke.
The Mediterranean diet includes a proportionally high consumption of extra-virgin olive oil, legumes, unrefined cereals, fruits, vegetables, fish, moderate amounts of dairy consisting mostly of cheese and yogurt, moderate consumption of wine and small amounts of meat.
"It may be counterintuitive to think that adding olive oil to your diet is good for your heart, but that is what science has found," said Rabbi Veffer. "It is proven to be more effective for cardiovascular health than a low-fat diet and also helps lower cholesterol and blood pressure."
Olive oil, considered a "good fat", is also linked to a decreased risk of osteoporosis. A study from the Ain Shams University in Egypt found that the monounsaturated fat in olive oil helps the body break down calcium so it can be properly absorbed into bones.
In addition, some studies have found a decreased risk of Type 2 diabetes in those who consume extra-virgin olive oil. Others credit olive oil for protecting the body against breast cancer.
And consuming extra-virgin olive oil is also linked with a lowered risk of Alzheimer's disease and slower cognitive decline as well as a lessening of other neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, estimated at a rate as high as 13 percent.
Consuming olive oil is also good for mental health. According to Spanish researchers from the University of Navarra, a diet rich in olive oil can help prevent mental illness, and people are 30 percent less likely to suffer from depression when following the Mediterranean diet.

God Is My Salvation - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

God Is My Salvation

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“Behold, God is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid.” (Isaiah 12:2, NKJV)

How often have you seen someone start a message from Scripture using a verse or two out of Lamentations?! Have you ever read Lamentations recently? Well, neither have I, until this morning.

During my daily reading of the Word of God, this month in Isaiah, I was reading chapter 12. Not only are those verses, from the Jewish prophet of the Living God of Israel, promises made to the chosen ones for that day, but also for us today who call upon the name of the Lord Yeshua. And that is why I was then led to Lamentations. I love how the Holy Spirit directs our steps, even in our reading of His eternal Word, the Torah, the Scriptures, the full Bible.

“Surely my soul remembers and is bowed down within me. This I recall to my mind,
therefore I have hope. The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

"The Lord is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I have hope in Him." The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the person who seeks Him. It is good that he waits silently for the salvation of the Lord.” (Lamentations 3:20-26, NASU)

We had often, back in the day, sang those verses loud and clear, in proclamation mode in fact. “The Lord's lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

Every morning, every noon, every evening we have the joy and extended call to us…to call on the Name of the Lord. For He is our salvation. He is our hope. He is the lovingkindness demonstrated daily as we put our trust in Jesus, Yeshua, Adonai, Yahweh, Morning Star, the great I AM. He is.

(I love the new song by Paul Wilbur on his latest CD/MP3 Forever Good -  “Call on the Name”. Check it out sometime. I even provided the link for you!)

“Then you will say on that day," I will give thanks to You, O Lord; for although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. "Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and song, and He has become my salvation."

Therefore you will joyously draw water from the springs of salvation. And in that day you will say," Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name. Make known His deeds among the peoples; Make them remember that His name is exalted." Praise the Lord in song, for He has done excellent things; let this be known throughout the earth. Cry aloud and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.” (Isaiah 12:1-6, NASU)

What a promise we have, that we can stand on constantly, continually, as we walk the walk, talk the talk, and abide in His presence, whether that be in the secret place every morning during our Bible reading and prayer time, or in the midst of our daily job each of us work at. The Promise holds true - He will be with us, the daily Salvation of our soul.

In a recent youth gathering we started in our home, (primarily age 18 upward) I mentioned that many will have the “worship experience” (new fad name for it?) for an hour or two on Sunday morning, but what happens when the full worship team isn’t with you when the boss is in a foul mood, and you happen to get the brunt of his (or her) wrath on Monday?

Our experience with our Lord needs to be so deep within our soul, engrained within our emotions, that even when we are wrongly treated, falsely accused, or just plain lied about on the “job experience”, that we are still standing firm on His promises we know in our heart to be true - the solid foundation of His Word on which we stand.

The book of Lamentations and the book of Isaiah are to be just as real and impacting in our lives today as they were for those in the “days of old”.

Scripture is eternal. It was for them then, and it is certainly still is for us now. And it will be for the future. Why? Because He is the eternal Word made flesh and dwelt among us.

“The Word became a human being and lived with us, and we saw his Sh’khinah, the Sh’khinah of the Father’s only Son, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14, Complete Jewish Bible)

Jesus is the Promise. He is the Word. He is the One who we can trust in, rely on, and know He is with us always – on the Saturday or Sunday morning experience, or on the Monday through Friday ones.

“Yeshua the Messiah is the same yesterday, today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8, Complete Jewish Bible)

Keep looking up. Then you will see Him within.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Mike Pence to CUFI: I Support Israel Because I am a Christian - CBN News Emily Jones

Mike Pence to CUFI: I Support Israel Because I am a Christian

CBN News 07-18-2017 Emily Jones

Thousands of Christians descended on the nation's capital Monday for Christians United for Israel's 12th annual summit.
Mike Pence addressed the crowd, assuring that that not only he but President Donald Trump are proud supporters of the Jewish state.
"And under President Donald Trump, if the world knows nothing else, the world will know this: America stands with Israel. Now and always," he said.
The Vice President also revealed where his love for Israel comes from. Not from Capitol Hill, but from the very word of God.
"To look at Israel is to see that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob keeps his promises," he said. "Like all of you, my passion for Israel springs from my Christian faith. The songs of the land and the people of Israel were the anthems of my youth. As for me and my house, we pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all who call her home. It’s really the greatest privilege of my life to serve as Vice President to a President who cares so deeply for our most cherished ally."
It was also very clear the alliance between Israel and America's leaders was not just founded on faith, but common values like freedom and democracy.
"President Trump has made it clear: America stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel, as together we confront those enemies who threaten our people, our freedom, and our very way of life," he said.
Pence also made sure to address one issue that so many Christians supported when President Trump ran his campaign -- the move of the United State's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
"I promise you that the day will come when President Donald Trump moves the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It is not a question of if, it is only when," he said to a standing ovation.
CUFI members will take Capitol Hill on Tuesday to urge their congress members and senators to follow Vice President Mike Pence and President Trump's lead and support Israel.

Don't Run if God Has Called You to Speak - J. LEE GRADY CHARISMA NEWS

If God has called you, don't run away. (Getty Images)
This past Sunday I stood in a pulpit, looked out over a congregation of mostly strangers, cleared the lump in my throat and preached a message that the Lord had laid on my heart from the Bible.
Thousands of men and women speak publicly like this every week. It's what preachers do. No big deal. But even though I speak often, I've found that preaching the gospel is one of the most frightening assignments anyone could attempt. I feel as if I die a thousand deaths right before I do it, and I die several more times after I go home and evaluate what happened.
After one discouraging experience in which an audience stared coldly at me with their arms folded, I determined that preaching surely must not be my calling. I shared my struggle with an older pastor.
"Sometimes I feel discouraged after I speak," I said. "Does that ever happen to you?" I was sure he would counsel me to stop preaching.
His answer shocked me. "Son, I feel that way every Monday morning," he said.
When I tell friends that I stubbornly resisted the call of God to preach because of my lack of confidence, they act surprised. They don't know how much anguish I went through. They think most people who stand in pulpits want to be there. They can't believe that I wrestled with God for months when I felt He was calling me to speak.
We assume God chooses certain people to preach because of their oratory skills. But true preaching is not a natural exercise—it is one of the most supernatural tasks anyone can ever be called to do. It requires an imperfect human vessel to yield himself or herself to speak the very words of God.
If we do this in the flesh, the results are miserable; if we wholly trust the power of the Holy Spirit, prophetic preaching unleashes supernatural anointing.
Most preachers in the Bible were reluctant. Moses made excuses about his stuttering, Gideon tried to disqualify himself because of his family background, and Jeremiah complained about the responsibility of carrying a prophetic burden. Jonah bought a one-way ticket to the other side of the Mediterranean Sea so he wouldn't have to give his unpopular sermon!
And the apostle Paul, who was a silver-tongued Pharisee before he met Christ, was stripped of his eloquence before he preached throughout the Roman Empire. He told the Corinthians: "I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. My speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God" (1 Cor. 2:3-5).
If Paul trembled when he spoke, I have no right to complain when I feel butterflies in my stomach for the thousandth time.
Charismatic revivalist Arthur Katz wrote about the power of true preaching in his 1999 book Apostolic Foundations: "The only one qualified to preach ... is the one who wants to run the other way, like Jonah. ... The man who sighs and groans when called upon to speak, who does not want to be there, who feels terribly uncomfortable ... is the man out of whose mouth the word of true preaching is most likely to come."
That is certainly not the way most of us view pulpit ministry in contemporary America. We celebrate the smooth and the polished. We measure the impact of a sermon not by whether hearts are slain by conviction but by how high the people jump when the preacher tells them what they want to hear.
That kind of carnal preaching may win the accolades of men, boost TV ratings, get lots of hits on social media and even build megachurches. But the kingdom is not built on hipster style or smug self-confidence. We need God's honest words, sent straight from the authentic heart of a broken vessel. The church will live in spiritual famine until reluctant, weak and trembling preachers allow His holy fire to come out of their mouths.
If you have a message from God, stop running. If you are wrestling with God like Jacob did, quit resisting, and let your Maker break your pride; He wants you to walk with a limp the rest of your life so you can lean on Him rather than on your own ability. Die to your fears, doubts and excuses, and drink the cup of suffering that accompanies the genuine call of God.

Sex (Part 2 of 2) - The Beautiful Side - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Sex
(Part 2 of 2)

- The Beautiful Side

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine…” (Song of Songs 6:3, NASU)

After writing of the horrible, destructive ways that man sins against man in these last days, I am now grateful to share the beautiful side of sex, that which our Lord God, the Creator, intended from the beginning.
My foundation is none other than the Bible, the living, eternal Word of God. The same Scriptural truth that has withstood centuries of denial, persecution, wrath, and utter hatred for telling it like it is. Mankind has tried to tear it down, spit it out, and completely burn it, but through it all, this is the one and only solid rock that has withstood the test of time.
Therefore, if your sinking sand needs some help, pursue the truth by reading what has been written. But if you are content with accepting the deception that has torn marriage, family, boy and girl apart, what you sow you will truly reap. God has promised that. He will not be mocked.
Thus, we start at the beginning. When all else fails, go back to the starting point and read the manual. This will instruct you in the way you are to go.
God, in the unity among themselves (God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, chose to create man, Adam, to rule the earth.

“Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth." (Genesis 1:26-28, NKJV)
Out of the love that God the Father, God the Son (Yeshua/Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit, the Three-IN-One, (Gen. 1:26 -“Us”), His heart was to have an extension of His family. He wanted one man and one woman to come together, in natural, sexual bond, and produce children after them. Nurtured in the surrounding of such a unity, the world would become filled with the knowledge of His plans and purposes.

“This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates.
Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."
And the Lord God said, "It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him." Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man."
Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” (Genesis 2:4-25, NKJV)

But as truth is to be told, sin ruined that, and only through the coming of Yeshua to earth the first time, to redeem man from the curse of sin, through His shed blood on the cross as the Passover Lamb of God, could this redemption take place. Mankind would then be reconciled to the Trinity, and then to one another. (That is the Good News, the Gospel, in short.)
Having chosen the bad side far too often, mankind has reaped the results. With the works of the devil in and through them, each allowed by their own free will, and having made their own choice, people gave into temptation, leading to sin, and replaced the love of God for everything else.
Love, and the sexual union intended for each married, committed man and women shared in union, has been severely damaged as the result. All other things that follow bear the same punishment of sin.
So we need to go back to the starting point. We need to begin with the eternal, foundational plan of marriage. For it was from there that the Father created two humans, each full in His image, and yet each having separate, but complimentary spirits, souls (mind, will and emotions) and bodies, that would be joined together in love and commitment, to produce a godly, loving family, in the same image of God the Father.
Steve Martin saying June 5, 2017

“He answered, "Haven't you read in your Bible that the Creator originally made man and woman for each other, male and female? And because of this, a man leaves father and mother and is firmly bonded to his wife, becoming one flesh — no longer two bodies but one. Because God created this organic union of the two sexes, no one should desecrate his art by cutting them apart." (Matthew 19:4-6, THE MESSAGE)

God’s heart is all about family. Having demonstrated that so beautifully and carefully with His Only Begotten Son, He gave all so that we could have all, and share in their love.
In His complete wisdom and understanding, He knew that the enemy, Satan himself, hated this perfect plan even from the beginning, and would destroy the plan in every way that he could, and would continually try. And yes, as you read in my previous Now Think On This message, “Sex – The Evil Side (Part 1)”, he has succeeded in many ways.
But the Lord did not tear up His Word and start over with a new manual. His heart is of restoration and redemption, to see fruitfulness come from that which was dead. He has saved many, to be a testimony in the midst of darkness, to shine forth His light and love.
In our repentance and turning back to the Living God, those who stand for truth will prevail, and see His victorious reign come into our midst.
As we instruct our children, brought forth out of the committed relationship from holy matrimony, the victory will be ours in overcoming the lies of the enemy. The Lord has the final word. He has shown us the truth. As we walk in His ways we will experience the love of God that draws many back to Him.
The evil side of sex will go on as long as man puts his own desires above those of the Lord. But the most beautiful side of sex will flourish within the protection of the marriage bond, between the married man and woman, keeping their bed undefiled, watching over themselves so as to not fall into temptation, and allowing the discipline and nurturing of the Lord to bring the enjoyment, this act of marriage, that sex does.
My good wife Laurie and I, married now 40 years this October 8, 2017, have known the fruit, have seen our four children brought forth, and have walked in the goodness of the Lord in our marriage. Rough and tough at times, but He has brought us through it all.
Steve & Laurie Martin family - 2013
We commend those who along with us have paid the price, laid down their lives for one another and then their children, and now continue to enjoy the beautiful side of sex.
And when the Marriage Supper of the Lamb takes place, when Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Christ) is joined together with His Bride, The Body of Messiah (Christ), what rejoicing that will be!!!
"Then he said to me, " Write, ' Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.'" And he said to me, " These are true words of God." Then I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do that; I am a fellow servant of yours and your brethren who hold the testimony of Jesus; worship God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." (Revelation 19:9-10, NASU)
