Change - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Change

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

"Moab has been at ease since his youth; he has also been undisturbed, like wine on its dregs,
and he has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, nor has he gone into exile. Therefore he retains his flavor, and his aroma has not changed.” (Jeremiah 48:11, NASU)

From what I can tell, it wasn’t a good thing that Moab, written about in this Scripture verse, didn’t change. In fact, it sounds like rather than being a pleasant smell his flavor became undesirable. Does that happen when we resist or refuse, to change?

With my limited understanding of winemaking, the winery has to make sure the wine process continues by pouring the liquid from one vessel to another. Otherwise, the sediment that settles at the bottom of the barrel taints the wine, affecting the outcome in flavor. Now that wouldn’t be good for the finished product. The pouring process is an essential part of the best that is yet to come at the end.

I have found it to be true also in the human spirit. This is one reason why change is so important in our life. When we settle in one place, content to let things be as they are, without ruffling the feathers, or making waves, our spirit becomes tainted with the sediments that have fallen to the bottom. Rather than being poured out into the next vessel, to have that be left behind, these particles work themselves back into our soul. If left as that, certain undesirables can be stirred up. Such things as bitterness, unforgiveness, and resentment work themselves up to the surface again, never being left behind as they should be through forgiveness and forgetting what should be left behind.

I believe Paul understood this spiritual principle when he wrote, “Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-15, NASU) If we are to reach the best the Lord has in store for us we will be required to leave behind sediment that will ruin the flavor and aroma of our spiritual life. Change has to become a normal process in our daily walk.

Becoming settled in the ease of life will prevent us from walking in the faith we are called to walk out. Achieving more than just getting by, or becoming satisfied with being undisturbed, will prevent the Lord from providing the grace needed to become the best wine we have been called to become. Otherwise, we risk the action of being poured out on the ground, having lost the fullness of life.

Welcome change as it comes. Be prepared to say “Yes” when the Lord seeks more through you, with Him requesting a change from here to there, whether it be spiritual or in the natural. Expect change to open doors that must be opened in order to finish the call on your life. The next door, or vessel, is meant to take you “from glory to glory”.

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Corinthians 3:18, NKJV)

Going from one place to another will always require change. And change is required to achieve the final finished product we are meant to become.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

The Holy Spirit Leads Us Through the Valley of Circumstances - DR. STEVE GREENE  CHARISMA MAGAZINE

"The art of leadership is a relative constant; only the circumstances change over time." —Adrienne M. Harrison, A Powerful Mind: The Self-Education of George Washington
Many leaders are effective through several seasons of calm and predictability. A few stumbles may occur along the way, but the overall effectiveness of the leader is at least moderate.
But circumstances change. Vibrations turn into earthquakes and the leader is challenged in new and threatening ways. If it is true that character is tested in fire, then perhaps leadership is validated in the midst of change.
Effective leaders prepare their teams for change. Change is constant, so it's only a matter of time before leaders must face a set of circumstances that require a change in "how we do things here."
A change in circumstances shouldn't cause a change of heart. The love of a leader shouldn't diminish in the heat of a battle.
When a team becomes unstable, a leader will demonstrate strong stability. There will be no doubt in the office that the circumstances are not insurmountable as the leader over-communicates a plan. Communication increases in clarity and frequency.
The Holy Spirit is not surprised or panicked by any circumstance.
Be led by the Holy Spirit as you lead.

How You Can Be Triumphant in Times of Transition - JENNIFER EIVAZ CHARISMA MAGAZINE

How You Can Be Triumphant in Times of Transition

JENNIFER EIVAZ  CHARISMA MAGAZINE
Join us on our new podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

It was just after 3 a.m., and I was walking up to my front porch having just completed a nightwatch prayer shift at our church. The Lord had been speaking to me that week about change, but I didn't know what He was referring to.
And I had been seeking Him for more clarification. As I headed towards my porch, my eyes gazed down to the ground and to a dragonfly lying on the pavement. I thought it might be dead and gave it a little nudge with my foot. Apparently it was only napping and it gave me a loud angry buzz in response.
I felt the breath of God in that moment. I rushed inside my home to research on my computer the symbolic meaning for "dragonfly." I was not surprised to see that this beautiful insect was often a sign for "change." The Bible says that God speaks through His creation, and He was definitely speaking here. We need to prepare for change.
The disciples of John had been questioning Jesus about fasting. "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast (Matt 9:14)?" Jesus took the opportunity to give John's disciples a lesson about change. Using highly visual language, Jesus explained why there was no reason to fast as long as He was around. He then revealed that He would soon be gone and His disciples would start fasting then.
Contrasting old and new wineskins, Jesus instructs on the need to be flexible with the upcoming change. New wine can't go into old wineskins or it will break and be ruined! Only new wineskins can hold new wine (v. 17).
Prepare yourself to be flexible with upcoming change. You were redeemed to increase, but inflexibility will reduce you. Inflexibility will ruin you. If change, or even the thought of change, makes you anxious, you need to "fret not" because His peace will anchor you.
His Peace Keeps You Steady
Jesus portrayed perfect peace when He and His disciples set sail to the Gadarenes and a deadly storm rose up in the middle of their voyage (Mark 4). The disciples panicked while Jesus slept peacefully in the stern of the boat. You probably know the story, but the frightened disciples finally woke Jesus up to do something about it. He rebuked the storm with the powerful command, "Peace, be still!" And then He rebuked His disciples for not having any faith. Jesus stopped a storm with peace and apparently you can, too.
The peace of God is tangible. It's also a sign that God's kingdom has invaded a chaotic situation and set it in order. "Of the increase of His government and peace, there will be no end (Is. 9:7)." For example, a woman in our church had torn the meniscus disc in her knee and was scheduled for surgery. When I put my hand on her knee, I felt the tangible peace of Jesus leave my hand. I didn't feel power as expected, but I felt liquid peace! She was healed of all pain instantly and walked up three flights of stairs the next day.
Another time, I was in Beijing leading a group of Chinese men and women in prayer. A few of them were Christians, but most were not. As I prayed, one woman spoke out in English saying, "I don't believe in your God, but when you prayed I felt a strong peace come into me!" I responded, "That's Jesus! He's talking to you!" She was visibly touched having her heart arrested by His supernatural peace.
Jesus said, "Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you ... Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27)." We have a choice to fret or to remain steady during seasons of personal and national change. His peace is instantly accessible and powerful. It anchors us on the inside when it looks like trouble and uncertainty on the outside. We can navigate any change because His peace governs our soul.
Become Rock Solid
Just recently, I watched two ministries go down in flames in one week because of sin. It was sad! Yes, the devil is on the prowl. Yes, the devil takes aim at ministers (the shepherds) in order to scatter the flock. At the same time, the Word is very clear as towhy someone stands or falls in a storm.
Jesus said, "Whoever hears these sayings of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock (Matt. 7:24)." He goes on to explain that a man who does His sayings will not fall down even in the worst storm. On the other hand, those who don't do His sayings will most certainly fail under pressure.
My husband and I have always been "Word" people. It seemed obsessive at first, but I'm so grateful at this season in our lives that we chose to immerse ourselves in the written Word each and every day. In the night, in the morning time, and as we drive to and from our various destinations, there is one constant in our lives—it's the steady hearing and study of the Word of God.
There are many who don't do His sayings, not because they aren't willing to, but because they don't know what He has said. They don't commit their lives to reading or hearing His word. The prophet Hosea said it well, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge ...  (Hos. 4:6)."
How is your Word life? It's time to get obsessed with it. Permanently obsessed. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Rom. 10:17). It's not about hearing the Word once. It's about hearing it over and over. And in seasons of change, you'll remain rock solid because you've heard His Word and remained in His Word.
While others are crashing, you'll be left standing. That's the power and strength of His Word in your life.
Our Blessing Comes From His Presence
Obed-Edom, the priest, was surprised by the arrival of the ark of the covenant to his household (2 Sam. 6). The ark was the presence of God to Israel, and King David had delivered it to his home on an emergency order. Apparently, the king had failed to transport it from Abinadab's home to the city of Jerusalem properly. David should have carried the ark on the shoulders of the priests, but instead he placed it on a cart being pulled by oxen. When the cart stumbled and the ark began to slip, Uzziah reached out to steady the ark and was struck dead by the holiness of the Lord. Apparently you can't make your own rules when it comes to carrying the presence of God.
It was a miserable event, and David put up the ark in Obed-Edom's home temporarily until he could sort out what to do. Because of the ark, an unusual blessing came upon Obed-Edom's household. The Bible doesn't specify what that blessing was, but an online Jewish Encyclopedia proposed that supernatural increase came upon the home. This encouraged King David to search out the proper order for handling the ark so he could transfer it properly to Mount Zion. He did so successfully, thus bringing the entire city of Jerusalem under the blessing of God's presence.
The ark of the covenant teaches us about the nature of His presence. Where His presence is, there will be the blessing of increase. I know this to be true having seen it in my own church. For example, during one year we saw three households supernaturally released from their mortgages while another household was supernaturally released from their car loan. Around the same time, a dairy farmer had three sets of calf twins in about nine months, which is almost unheard of. The blessing of His presence is tangible and manifests with visible results.
In seasons of change, people often worry about their provision and safety and this is where compromise occurs. They think their preferred presidential candidate, a perfect healthcare system, or a glowing secular economy is what will solve all their problems! These things do affect us, but Jesus is the great problem solver. We are once again being directed to trust His Word and to trust His Spirit and prepare our lives to be distinguished by heavenly miracles.
The Holy Spirit is reminding us that, "... No good thing will He withhold from the one who walks uprightly (Ps. 84:11)." You will triumph in change

ANOINTING THE CREATIVE - Morris E. Ruddick - SIGN

Morris Ruddick

SIGN
ANOINTING THE CREATIVE
(c) Morris E. Ruddick

Note from Morris

My latest book, Mantle of Fire, will be available in hard copy and e-version from Amazon, Applebooks and Barnes & Noble by mid-January. It is a timely message. It targets God's empowerment of today's Joseph-Daniels, as well as God's economy.
I would be very grateful if those of you who have been blessed by any of my books would go to Amazon.com and write a review, especially for my last two books ("Righteous Power" and "Leadership by Anointing").

The SIGN ministry is close to its twentieth year of operation. From the beginning it has drawn prophetic intercessors and leaders from almost every continent seeking God's insights into understanding the times in order to know what to do. Because it reflects God's focus, it has given keen focus to what the Lord is doing in the marketplace and Israel.

It is my prayer and I would seek yours as well, that I incisively glean and impart the wisdom of God in each future SIGN post. Our need for the Lord today is greater than it has ever been.

"He does not restrain them when His voice is heard. He does great things beyond our comprehension." Job 37:4,5

Mounting pressures often precede greater revelations from God. Understanding God's majesty and its correlation to the creative dimension of His nature is not only appropriate for the times. It is a requisite for being prepared for what is next with what God wants to release through us.

Job was overwhelmed by the loss of his family, his fortune and his health. His wife had given up on him. To compound all that, his friends had become finger-pointers and begun casting blame. It was at that juncture, as illustrated in the opening scripture, that Elihu gave Job a very blunt and dramatic defense of God's majesty. Elihu's word preceded God revealing Himself to Job in a way he had never known.

What followed was a time of greater blessing and effectiveness than Job had ever thought possible.
In times of uncertainty and disorder, it is easy to get overwhelmed. Many years ago, the Lord gave me a word of wisdom addressing the issue of facing change. That word was that whatever sphere of influence we walk into, to immediately begin looking beyond it, lest it overwhelm. That wisdom carried the presumption of keeping our eyes on the Lord.

That word applies in good times and bad. We tend to get lax and slip into the status quo when things are going well. Yet, when things start hitting the fan we slow down, get distracted and diverted as we grabble with what our focus should be. In each instance, in different ways, we have slipped into being constrained and manipulated by the circumstances.

Yet this word to Job from Elihu focused on getting to a place where we can hear from God. In gazing upon His majesty, it taps the release of the creative.

The Bridge to the Unknown

While the "creative" has been popularized and limited largely to be the arts, the advertising field and to right brain type of functions, from a spiritual stance it represents much more. The creative is the bridge into the unknown. It includes business, technology and even the way we think.

The business world seeks the steps applied by Steve Jobs and the creative climate he fostered at Apple. Einstein once wisely stated that imagination is a lot more important than knowledge. The imagination is the part of the creative that gets outside the box into that dimension beyond the boundaries of the natural.

So it is for our potential. With God being the Creator, when we give focus to seeking Him as the One guiding our pathway we begin anointing our sphere of the creative far beyond the level demonstrated by the world.

This is why Scripture described Daniel as ten times better than his occult counterparts in the king's court. It was what Pharaoh recognized in Joseph that prompted him to promote Joseph from being a prisoner to becoming prime minister. Joseph and Daniel heard from God and received creative revelation beyond the scope of their human comprehension. Entrance into the creative works hand-and-hand with the prophetic.
The creative anointing is a process. Iridium was the forerunner of satellite phones. It had the technology.

However, in the course of twelve years, Iridium was still operating with its original business assumptions. Kodak, the name synonymous with film invented the digital camera but then in 2012 went bankrupt. Despite their technological edges, these companies lacked the creative business foresight to keep up with the big picture changes taking place in the markets they served.

The Process

The creative is a process. It is progressive.

Moses imparted the wisdom that the secret things belong to the Lord. Yet, glimmers of these secret things are revealed to us, as His people and to our children (Deut 29:29). They are revealed by God. In God, the creative taps the future to bridge and instill a heritage that spans generations.

What God imparted to Moses was the framework to release the creative designed for a society in touch with the Creator. Against all odds historically this framework has demonstrated the power that will coalesce when God's Kingdom is released for all time.
Again, the unfolding of the creative is a process.

It involves our mind-sets, the way we view things. It incorporates the development and application of our gifts. It also includes bringing increase, as illustrated by the parable of the talents. God's nature is not only creative and innovative, it builds and brings increase.

This process finds root and progresses with the wisdom Elihu passed on to Job: "He does not restrain them when His voice is heard. He does great things beyond our comprehension."

Thinking. The process begins and ends with the way we think. God commented that He chose Abraham because Abraham would impart His ways to his household. As God's people, we need to discern the heart and mind of the Lord. Knowing His heart and mind begins by knowing His ways with an undivided heart (Ps 86:11).

Our thinking needs to be guided by being God-centered and Kingdom-oriented in all that we do. Even at an early age, Joseph grasped the heart and mind of the Lord demonstrated by his prophetic dreams.

We also need mind-sets that are entrepreneurial and poised to embracing the new things God will bring into our situation. Being entrepreneurial just doesn't mean having our own business, although that is a means toward greater dependence on God and self sufficiency. Being entrepreneurial means constantly identifying opportunity and bringing forth increase in blessing by this process.

Our thinking needs to be leadership-minded, in how we influence and bless others with our gifts. Tz'dakah is the Hebrew word that means righteous charity. It is a community dynamic and responsibility that fosters opportunity and lends a helping hand to those in our sphere seeking the steps to God's calling for their lives.

It incorporates the mantle of Abraham to be blessed to be a blessing. Paul underscored the point of this mantle with the wisdom to bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Jesus lived it by mapping out our pathway punctuated by the words of Isaiah in that He took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows.

Creative thinking thrives when the model of the spiritual, the economic and community are operating together among God's people. Myopic thinking will stop the flow of the process and cause stagnation and what we refer to as the status quo.

The Gifts. The process incorporates the development of our gifts. The Word of God tells us that God gives gifts to men. To each is given a natural gift and to those who seek Him, as Elihu was admonishing Job, to combine it with a spiritual gift.

Before Job went through the fire, he was a righteous, religious man. When he emerged, his righteousness was enhanced as he became a spiritual man who ways were in communion with and interacting with God.

When our natural and spiritual gifts come together and are combined with the anointing of God something sparks. The creative is released. It doesn't happen overnight. It requires development and excellence of this combination of our natural and spiritual gifts. When our natural and spiritual gifts are operating together the creative process has detonated into flame and becomes anointed.

This was the anointing evident in Joseph when he was but a slave in Potiphar's house and in prison. Genesis 39 describes it bringing blessing and success to the ones he served. It was an anointing that everyone witnessed and knew came from God. It evoked the trust of each who had authority over Joseph: Potiphar, the jailer and then Pharaoh.

Increase. Entrepreneurship is a key part of this process. True entrepreneurship creates. It innovates and builds. From that will come increase. Iridium and Kodak created, but failed to innovate and build.

Entrepreneurship discerns opportunity and knows what to do about it. Within and outside business settings this is the dynamic, identifying and capitalizing on opportunity that extends the blessing to others to make the community of God's people to function and grow in the way God intended.

Jesus' parable of the talents places a high priority on the ones who find opportunity to bring increase from that with which they've been entrusted. He made it clear that the results will vary depending to our specific gifts and abilities. He said that the opportunity would be given each according to his own ability (Matt 25:15).

The creative process operating within community forms the basis of self-sufficiency that protects God's people against the backlash that will cyclically erupt from the world. The age-old seduction to be like everyone else is a trap that undermines the potential of self-sufficiency that God outlined to Moses in the wisdom designed to govern the community of God's people.

Big Picture Strategy

One of the biggest stumbling blocks for God's people over the centuries has been spiritual myopia. As King, David placed great dependence on the tribe of Issachar, whose anointing was to discern and understand the times and to know what to do. When we get to the point of considering the role of the creative anointing within community, we need the uniqueness of the Issachar anointing. We need God's big-picture outlook and we need the strategy He is imparting for the future.

Both the big picture and the strategy is the Kingdom. Jesus' central focus in preparing His followers was the Kingdom strategy, how to apply righteous power in corrupt settings. Similarly, the big picture was the restoration of Israel as the foundation of the Kingdom that would come forth with the bridging of the natural and spiritual with His return. Anointing the creative will employ this strategy in advancing us toward this big picture scenario of restoration.

God-Conscious Dependence

Genuine God-consciousness comes first from time spent with Him. It is a vital part of this creative process that unfolds over a lifetime. Time spent with Him fuels and enhances the creative anointing.

Then acts of faith, of putting into application this type of thinking and the gifts, along with the process of building and bringing increase will develop and mature over time. The diversity of these interactions within community will build the community and provide an influence, as well as a safe place within the world around us.

God never intended for his people to operate in monastic settings, but rather to be the igniters and examples of the knowledge of Him to the world around us. His wisdom is the self-sufficiency that makes us factors of influence while keeping us from being squeezed into the world's mold.

The key to maintaining the creative anointing from God is God-conscious dependence. This is what keeps the process moving forward and growing.

Throughout the history of God's people, those who rose to become what we consider as heroes of faith held an important thing in common: humility. Humility demands a focused consciousness of and dependency on God. It underlies the confidence that is in God and not ourselves.

Having worked closely with leaders who have spent extended times in hard-labor prisons for their faith, each will attest to the dynamic of the resulting humility and confidence in God -- in which His reality has been revealed and demonstrated beyond any human comprehension. The second most dangerous place for believers in leadership is having a confidence that believes in their own press releases.

The most dangerous place is those, believing in their own press releases, imparting that influence to others. Nothing stops the process faster, opening the gates for deception.
Humility keeps the calibration between the natural and spiritual in precision-level balance. Job emerged from his experience in the fire humbled, but with a spiritual strength and confidence that brought a much greater impact from his gifts.

God-conscious dependency is the faith that consistently reaches for God's wisdom in the midst of adversity. Joseph and Daniel learned this humble dependency on God through adversity. For Moses and David, it was the same. Paul described the dynamic by stating that in his weakness that God would manifest.

Keeping the process flowing involves constant calibration between the natural and the spiritual. That calibration takes practice and it takes time. Yet, it is how destinies are determined. It is how the authority of vibrant prayer lives is developed.
In a world in which knowledge is leapfrogging, the status quo and using old models can stymie, divert and even destroy the process yielded by the creative anointing.

God's people have an edge. With God as Senior Partner, the one whose majesty we embrace, we can expect that He will continually reveal great and mighty things beyond our natural grasp, when our focus is Him and we are listening.

"Lord, You will do nothing without revealing your secrets unto your servants the prophets." Amos 3:7

LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE FEATURED BOOK

STANDING FOR TRUTH IN A WORLD OF DECEPTION - Now Think On This – Book 4

Here are more encouraging messages written by Steve Martin for the Love For His People and Now Think On This blogs.

They cover a variety of topics to encourage you, believers in Jesus, to stand strong in your daily walk, firmly committed for His plans and purposes in our nations. As the Lord would give Steve a word or two in his spirit, he would begin to write.

With a prophetic and inspirational edge, these messages will be an encouragement to you to stand clear in your faith, fulfill the call on your life, and be a light to the nations, beginning within your own family and to those around you. These simple words are meant to be an addition to your daily Bible reading and prayer time.

While the days growing darker, each of us must be built up in the faith of our forefathers and the Jewish writers of the Written Word, as they were inspired by the Holy Spirit. We must stand strong for truth in this world of deception which increasingly surrounds us.

"God is Financing What He Builds – His Plan, His Church, His Harvest" - Cindy McGill (The Elijah List)

Times and Seasons
It's time for change. It has to happen. God is driving. The Lord is building His house where we will not labor in vain to build it. New structures and expressions are being birthed to contain THIS harvest during the greatest outpouring from Heaven. The world has changed and so must the Church. We are not in the 70s anymore. Our world is sinking into deep darkness and we have been called to be the lights that illuminate the way in this hour.
Jesus spent most of His time out and about with people who were not even close to coming to a temple. His whole passion was to heal ALL who were oppressed by the devil. He not only healed their bodies but also their hearts, minds, and spirits. Those who were forgiven much loved much more.
God Gives the Plan
In 2003, I was doing a dream interpretation school on an Indian reservation in Idaho. That night I had a dream with clear instruction on how to compel today's seekers to receive the Lord. In the dream, God spoke to me about a menu board with items on it to "scratch the itch" of the seekers and to create "prophetic healing circles" of no more than three people. The menu board had language on it like "organic spiritual alignment," "original root recovery," "spiritual cleansing and re-definement." (Photo via Pixabay)
In between the small circles, I saw intercessors. God told me to call them "spiritual connectors," as they are the ones to pray during the encounters. When I awoke, I knew it was a new blueprint for reaching this generation who were turned off by church. When I got home, I told my husband about the dream and we set off to our local park to try it out. Literally, within minutes, we were swarmed with young people from the local drum circle, who were desperate for a life change with a God they could relate to, who met them at the point of their need.
The next year, I went with a team to the Burning Man festival in Nevada, where tens of thousands of people gather for a week-long lifestyle of radical self-expression. We gave great room for the Holy Spirit to move, and again we were swarmed with seekers from every walk of life.
Two years later, I branched off with the concepts God had given me in the dream to create another camp and expand a Jesus-presence at this popular festival.
Report From the Desert
For our outreach teams, this was our 11th year in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada at the Burning Man event. Our ministry theme camp, Freedom Lounge, was once again PACKED out with seekers who would never, ever, ever darken the door of a church. These are the creative ones, the spiritual ones, who wander out in the highways and byways. Their mindset and lifestyles are expressed in every form of twisted mindsets based on today's influences, but Jesus doesn't seem to mind that. He ALWAYS, ALWAYS looks on the hearts of men. He sees the ones He made, knows their journey, and is passionate to bring them out of destructive lifestyles into hope and a future. (Photo of Freedom Lounge via Cindy McGill)
A welcome mat is placed at the door of our tent for those whom the Father draws so they can freely "taste and see" for once in their lives that the Lord is GOOD. There is no condemnation, shaming, or judgement allowed, only unconditional love and acceptance. As a result of doing things God's way, our tent remains full for the whole week, as those who feel His love go and get their friends to have the same experience. It's like the woman at the well who went into the village after an encounter with the Jesus who didn't judge her, and told all of her friends to come and meet Him, too.

If We Don't Follow Jesus, Our Efforts Will Fail
God KNOWS where the fish are and the timing. Peter had fished all night using the methods he knew about and caught nothing, but when Jesus showed up, He told Peter where to cast his net, and the catch was so full the net started to break. In order to effectively reach THIS HARVEST, we will have to be teachable, moldable, and let Him instruct us. Being TEACHABLE is huge. God sees the beginning from the end and is well aware of His strategy and plan.
Jesus was really clear on how to fish men. He said, "FOLLOW ME (LISTEN TO ME)...and I'll MAKE you fishers of men." He did not say, "Follow trends, other people, your own thoughts, your old ways, your talking points." Instead, He said to pay attention and He will teach us about His compelling that love draws even the most bruised, hurting, and traumatized heart into a loving transformation with the One who made them, and their lives are forever changed. (Photo via Pixabay)
Every person has their own journey we are not aware of. Their hunger and thirst is, for that one moment, where unconditional love and acceptance is not only felt but embraced, resulting in receiving the One who has never left their side, but they did not know He was there.
Be Wise as Serpents, Harmless as Doves
Have you ever watched a serpent approach its prey? The serpent doesn't announce his presence but lays low, undetected, and waits for the right moment to make its move. We seek God's wisdom for these days and the days ahead. Our thoughts are not God's thoughts and our ways are not His. He is communicating a strong message to us, and we MUST be teachable to His instruction and warnings.
God's got this. He knows what He is doing, how He wants it done, and He is trying to instruct us in something new that we have never done before. This is HIS plan, HIS Church, HIS harvest and we are in a learning curve like never before. It's exciting and stretching for us, but the results are above and beyond what we can think up or ask for.
God is Financing What He Builds
We have been hearing about an outpouring of finances amidst the world's voice of economic collapse. God OWNS it all, and the finances He is releasing is for the work of the ministry, preparation for the days ahead, and for relief of debts in this Jubilee year. God is building HIS Church and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it. When finances are poured out, it is wisdom not to set our hearts on the money, but that we use it for the intended purpose. There are faith-based films emerging filled with hope and promise, new spiritual communities where the Holy Spirit is honored and given free expression and creativity from Heaven that we have never, ever seen before. (Photo via Pixabay)
Our best days are ahead, and God is driving. Let Him tear down old structures that don't work and build new ones according to His blueprint and plan. When we allow the GENERAL Contractor to build according to His vision, people will beat the door down to come to meet Him.

GLORY MANIFESTED - Morris E. Ruddick

GLORY MANIFESTED

(c) Morris E. Ruddick

"The glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one." John 17:22-23

This segment of Jesus' high priestly prayer taps a very key aspect of walking out a call of God: abiding in Him.

While some conclude from these verses to make unity the goal, unity is not the goal, but rather the fruit. Unity will be the fruit of abiding. It likewise is not a conformity type of unity, but rather being so in-sync with the Lord and His heart, that those truly abiding in Him will simply be on the same page within the individuality of their spheres and callings.
"In that day you will know that I am in My Father and you in me and I in you."
John 14:19

As a young disciple, one of my two primary mentors shared about a time when he was a part of a camp meeting retreat. As those attending the gathering sought the Lord, he recounted how there came a tangible consciousness of God's presence. As they continued seeking Him, he described something as like a smoke that descended on them which brought an even greater awareness of God's presence.

For three days, this holy presence was so strong that the only thing anyone wanted was to bask in His presence. What had been scheduled, comparatively, no longer had any significance.
"The temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power, and no one was able to enter." Rev 15:8

What took place was a manifestation of God's glory, triggered by hungry hearts, in unison, from steadfastly seeking Him. The need is to bring this consciousness of His presence into our everyday lives.

The influence of this mentor's passion resonated deeply with us, as my wife and I had come to faith as a result of a very real and insatiable spiritual hunger that pervaded our workplaces and neighborhoods. It was during the early days of the Charismatic revival.

Everyone was talking about Jesus and the Holy Spirit. People would spontaneously gather together just to pray and seek God. Those affected were acutely aware of what they were hearing from God. The miraculous became commonplace. Many experienced dramatic and life-changing answers to prayer. It was a time of abandoning yourself to God. Nothing carried any greater priority.
"The house of the LORD was filled with a cloud, so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God."
2 Chron 5:13-14

These times describe when the glory manifests and is imparted, as in John 17 Jesus imparted the glory He had received to His disciples. Such times trigger God-directed change and the restoration of truths and mysteries that have been squeezed out by the cares of life and the religious precepts of men.

Abiding in Him overcomes the seductions of worldly cares and the precepts of men. Abiding in Him and being stewards of His glory carries a cost with parameters that open the path into the supernatural, into the realm of angels and His presence.

The Parameters
Jesus warned that wielding this power would not only impact the spiritual climate, but would bring tribulation. David understood this.
"Many are they who say of me, "There is no help for him in God." But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head." Psalm 3:3

Becoming the source of changing the spiritual climate requires more than zeal to weather the opposition and backlash, which can, in the natural, seem impossible. Yet, that is just the point. With God, in Him all things are possible. The pathway in which His glory manifests was described by Jesus as narrow and difficult.

This pathway is the foundation for the mandate for change and restoration for this hour. It requires consistent spiritual maintenance, the continual renewal of our mind-sets, operating beyond ourselves, producing fruit that abides and tapping the generational bridges.

Spiritual Maintenance. Abiding is a lifetime process. Spiritual maintenance of personal prayer and a consistent washing of God's word must be an ongoing priority. It requires discipline and it requires sacrifice.

Personal maintenance will be found to be progressive, with its intensity directly linked to one's spiritual maturity. One's spiritual maturity will be demonstrated by the fruit. The fruit will be evidenced by the level of change being wielded by the mantle.

Regular, personal, quality time with the Lord is not an option. Jesus spent entire nights alone in prayer. Many stress the importance of a well-organized prayer-shield. I don't disagree. However, the Lord once let me know that regardless of the number of prayers I mobilize through others, that my exploits would never exceed the level represented by my own prayers. A prayer-shield serves to augment this baseline.

Renewed Mind-Sets. Consistent time with the Lord influences our thinking. We need our thinking and attitudes constantly renewed and aligned according to God's heart and priorities. Our thinking determines how we believe and how we act in faith.

Mind-sets go deep. While they include our attitudes, which are the determinants of our behavior, they go beyond our attitudes. They also include the often very subtle cultural predispositions that the Bible refers to as iniquities. The input from the world pollutes our thinking and cultural tendencies,

True people of faith do not conform to the world's way of thinking or doing. One of the biggest challenges God's people have faced over the centuries has been the lure to be like everyone else, to be accepted. One of the first premises of leadership is that real leadership can never be achieved through acceptance or being liked. Leadership has its foundations in honor, trust and respect.

Our identities in God are distinctive. We are called to be leaders, each within our own spheres. The word of God tells us that we have been chosen to demonstrate God's reality. That's the first order of things. It requires mind-sets aligned with God's. That forms the basis of one's calling in God.

Beyond Ourselves. In the final analysis, it is not about us. That's why we need our mind-sets continually being renewed. Piercing the veil beyond self is the place Jesus sought for His disciples. For Peter, it took a final word from the Lord after Jesus' resurrection for Peter to begin walking in that place that the Lord saw in Peter when He first met him and discerned His destiny.

Years ago, during a time alone seeking the Lord, the Lord told me: "Morris, you're too introspective." What the Lord was telling me had nothing to do with getting our attitudes in line with His truth and priorities. Instead it gave focus to a Western mantra of self-improvement that goes beyond this level of alignment. Being too introspective can become a fine-line distraction and illusion that distorts the balance of our callings. Walking out a call of God requires humility.

Humility is the recognition that we can't, but He can. Humility is a constant dependence on Him. Humility is the realization that a significant part of the "cleanup" is God's prevue and our response needs to faithfully hold fast to Him, seeking Him and being "doers of the word." It's learning to walk with God with a purity of heart that is beyond ourselves.

Business people tend to be doers. For those with callings like Joseph and Daniel and Peter, it means piercing the veil and flowing in a place beyond our human capabilities. It's not what we can do for God, but rather what we allow the Lord to do through us. That's the essence of the greater sacrificial love that Jesus modeled.

Fruit that Abides. Jesus made it very clear that we would be known, not by our activity, but by the fruits from our activity.

Bearing fruit is a strong part of Jesus' message. It is the result of flowing in the Spirit according to our gifts. Bearing fruit that remains transfers the anointing and calling to those being ministered to.

The glory will come when we are abiding and consistently finding our life-source in Him. Bearing fruit that abides will come from our lives operating in that place beyond ourselves, in Him.
"If you abide in Me and my words abide in you, you will ask what you will and it will be done for you." John 15:7

The Generational Bridge. Among the mysteries being restored in this day is the generational bridge. The generational bridge is more than mentoring and passing the baton to the next generation, although that is certainly an important part. The generational bridge involves mantles, the callings that transcend that of an individual and are sparked and fulfilled through generational bridges.

Joseph the Patriarch was the fourth generation from His great-grandfather Abraham. From the promises and mantle given to His great-grandfather, Joseph not only brought an incredible fullness to this mantle, but he set the stage for what would be the next generational bridge, the alignment of which would be actuated by Moses.

We have reached a time in which there has come a convergence that is beyond the current generation. We catch a glimmer of this convergence from the description in Hebrews of the great cloud of witnesses.

It is a time when not only do generations pave the way for one another, but there is an added dimension where anointed members of connecting generations are working together and bringing a dimension seldom seen operating in days past. In short, it is a time when the anointings of Abrahams, Isaacs and Jacobs begin operating together and sparking new dimensions. As we abide in Him and apply the parameters of this pathway, these connected anointings will serve as three-fold cords that trigger supernatural change and restoration.

The Mandate for Change and Restoration
Jesus came to raise the standard. He raised the bar. He reset the spiritual default to conform to God's heart and priorities. Resetting priorities in this way releases the mantle of fire of God's glory to bring change and restoration.
"He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him." John 7:18

With the glory Jesus imparted to His followers came the authority to reestablish God's order in the midst of a world masked and ruled by disorder.
"I came to bring fire to the earth and how I wish it were already kindled, but I have a baptism to be baptized with and how distressed I am until it is accomplished."
Luke 12:49-50

The fire that Jesus had kindled manifested significantly following the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Scripture describes it as a time when great fear (of God) came upon all the church and to as many who were exposed to and were hearing about the supernatural manifestations happening. It was a time marked by the consciousness of His presence in everyday life.

Simultaneously, it was a time of great spiritual backlash. Stephen and John's brother James were martyred. Peter was imprisoned, yet was supernaturally delivered as the saints faithfully prayed. Angelic manifestations and miracles were common.
"Now the angel of the Lord stood by him and a light shown in the prison and the chains fell off his hands. Then the angel said to him, follow me. So he followed him, but did not know that what the angel was doing was real. When they were past the first and second guard posts they came to the iron gate, that leads to the city, which opened of its own accord and immediately the angel departed from him." Acts 12: 7-10

Change and amazing things will result when God's glory manifests. It incorporates the power that defeated death and the grave. It brings change that aligns and restores God's ancient truths and covenants with Abraham, Moses and David.
"Thus says the Lord: Stand at the crossroads and look. Then ask for the ancient paths where the good way lies. Then walk in it and you will find rest for your souls." Jer 6:16

Getting the abiding factor and priorities right sets the stage for the glory to manifest. It is the foundation for the authority needed to bring change and restoration.
"The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works." John 14:10

It is the fine line of our walk with Him for this hour.
"So, open the gates, so that all who are righteous may enter, those who have remained faithful. The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, because he trusts in You. For in You we have an everlasting Rock. The way of the righteous is level and smooth. O Upright One, make the path of the righteous straight. While following the way of your judgments, we have eagerly waited for You. At night my soul longs for You. Indeed my spirit seeks you diligently. For when the earth experiences Your judgments, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness." Isa 26:2-3, 7-10
