Greetings to my family and friends of Love For His People Ministry.

Sometimes we have mixed emotions when our loved ones pass on to their eternal reward. We want to rejoice and celebrate because they sure are now having a great time. While those left behind, family and friends, rightly grieve for the loss they feel when the one who used to sit in their favorite chair is no longer there.

Life in this world comes to an end for all of us at some time. I hope you read my thoughts on Shofaring in Heaven below, based on the lives of our two friends Ahava Hadassah (Terry Kelson Wallach) and Nita Brown. They are blowing their shofars in heaven!

Ahava and shalom,

Shofaring in Heaven by Steve Martin

“All you inhabitants of the world, you who live on the earth: when a banner is hoisted on the mountains, look! When the shofar is blown, listen!” Isaiah 18:3, Complete Jewish Bible

Anyone who knew Nita (Frances Juanita) Brown and Ahava Hadassah (Terry Wallach) could tell when they were present in the gathered meeting. Their two shofars blew. And they each were very good at it! Within a year of each other, with Ahava passing on to glory in August of 2021, and Nita in June 2022, they left this earth, and are now sounding their shofars in the glory of their Redeemer, their Messiah, the Glorious One, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach.

How do I know? The Bible tells me so.

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His godly ones.” Psalm 116:15, NASU

These two precious women of God were not only joyous in their worship of the Lord, but they were warriors who knew when to battle and used the shofar to call forth the rest of us. They had many victories over the enemy and his cohorts, and they weren’t afraid to get in the thick of it and stand while pressing forward in the victory of the Lord.I met both in 2001 at Cornerstone Church in the wee town of Pineville, North Carolina. The church itself had maybe 30, 40 people at most, but with a wonderful worship team, the presence of the Lord was known often.

Nita would give praise on the keyboard, using the 9 fingers she had. (The only other musician I knew with nine fingers was guitarist Phil Keaggy). Terry would wave colorful flags. And together they would sound the blast of the shofar, declaring victory for our families and nation.

My good wife Laurie and I had the joy of being with Ahava (Terry) after she made aliyah (immigrated as a Jew) to Israel by her 70th birthday, for a day trip into the Golan in 2019. We were going to be with her again in 2021, but covid shut the world down, and that time never occurred. We miss her to this day.

David Peterman and I were last with Nita at her home in Waxhaw, North Carolina, a few weeks before her passing on June 26, 2022, to share time with her and pray for the Lord’s goodness upon her head. Up through the week when she went from this world to the next, she was proclaiming the Lord’s faithfulness and her hope in His upcoming promises.

Her sister Mary Brown told us this fascinating story after Nita’s memorial on Wednesday, July 23, 3033 at Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, South Carolina. I truly believed it when I heard her speak.

“The day after she passed, I was sitting in our living room. Then I sensed both Nita and Terry (Ahava) dancing on the streets of heaven and blowing their shofars. What a wonderful sight!”

And rightly so. The One they served so continuously and through it all had given them their heavenly reward and they have now joined with the numerous other saints preceding them. And all others who call upon the Name of the Lord in this life will also follow to receive their promised rewards.

I look forward to heaven. I look forward to personally meeting Messiah Yeshua, the saints of old, and the many families and friends that have gone on ahead. Having proclaimed the goodness of the Lord, with His saving grace and forgiveness received in this life, eternal life will never end.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:1-2, NKJV

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin, Love For His People founder

Encouragement – first from Jerusalem, Israel, and then from Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
by Steve Martin (published May 25, 2022)

In April 2022 my good friend David Peterman of Lancaster, South Carolina, and I took an Ahava Adventure (“love” in Hebrew) back to Jerusalem as soon as the skies and the Land of Israel opened up again. During those 10 days the Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ, gave me words to share, which I wrote down each day to share with others. These make up the first part of this book.

The next section is comprised of messages inspired by the Holy Spirit from our home in Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning before and after the Israel trip. As the Lord would give me a prophetic word, I would start writing and He would further expand on it. Thus those words are written in the major section of this book.

Everyone needs encouragement. Every day. All the negative news spewed out from social media platforms and airwaves needs to be offset by the good news the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) brings to us. From the time He walked the streets of Jerusalem in the first century, to today in this 21st Century, He shares love from heaven and from this home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Until He returns soon, may these messages uplift your spirit, reveal more of His heart, and sustain you as you walk daily in the direction the Holy Spirit gives with the grace and provision that comes with His presence.

"Prophetic Insights and Celebrating the Hebrew New Year 5776" - James W. Goll

"Prophetic Insights and Celebrating the
Hebrew New Year 5776"
James W. Goll, Franklin, TN
The Elijah List

We have now entered into the Hebrew New Year of 5776! The Ten Days of Awe is a time when many prophetic Believers receive revelation for the new year. Below I highlight some of the things the Lord has been speaking to me – including the coming harvest, increased hunger for the Word, dreams fulfilled, and harvesters released.

Significance of the Jewish New Year

Sunday, September 13 at sundown, marked the beginning of Rosh Hashanah and we are now in the midst of the Ten Days of Awe. This leads up to the Day of Atonement, which this year is celebrated on the evening of September 22nd through sunset on the 23rd. So Happy New Year from myself and staff and team at Encounters Network!

Rosh Hashanah, also known as Yom ha-Din (Day of Judgement), begins the "Ten Days of Awe" (Yomin Noraim), the "Ten Days of Turning or Repentance" or "the High Holy Days" which conclude with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. During this period, it is customary to greet one another with the phrase, "L'Shanah Tovah Tikateyvu" meaning "May you be inscribed in the Book of Life."

This holiday is both solemn and joyous since it is both the Day of Repentance and the Day of Judgement. It is celebrated for two days. On the first day, some Orthodox Jews practice a custom called "tashlich", which involves going to a body of water and emptying one's pockets or casting bread crumbs into the water. This is symbolic ofMicah 7:19, "And you will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea." (Photo by James Goll)

A family meal is celebrated which includes honey cake, wine, and apples dipped in honey to symbolize hope for a sweet and happy year. On the second night, a fruit not yet eaten that season is served. Hallah bread, in a round loaf, symbolizing a crown, is another traditional food. It is both a time of seeking the Lord and feasting in His goodness.

In Jesus, we believe He is the promised Messiah; He has made atonement for our sins and He is the way to the Father for each of us. Every day is a new day in Christ. He is the "Bread of Heaven" which has come down for us. Yet as New Covenant Believers we honor the Hebrew calendar and we are invited to celebrate the Feasts of the Lord.

This Jewish New Year is particularly special because it is the Year of Jubilee! On the Jewish calendar, years are observed in seven-year cycles, with a sabbatical year on the seventh year. Then at the culmination of every seven cycles (a total of 49 years) comes the 50th year: the Year of Jubilee, when all agricultural work ceased, all land was returned to its original owner and all slaves were released into freedom! (See Leviticus 25:8-24.)

God wants to unload His immeasurable blessings on you in this new year!

My Prophetic Insights for 5776

During the 10 Days of Awe, many prophetic Believers receive revelatory dreams and visions from the Lord as they consecrate themselves to seeking the face of God. For my own life, this has annually been a special time during which the Spirit of Revelation has seemed to be greater upon my life. So what should we expect in 5776 (at the Head of the New Year)?

Here are some of the things that the Lord has been highlighting to me for this year:

• An unusual movement of the Holy Spirit is beginning among nomads or the displaced people of the earth seeking refuge in the natural – but they will find it in the Lord Himself. Tens of thousands of Muslims will come to faith in Jesus as their one true God!

• The Word of God will be "alive and active" and we will learn to meditate, speak and declare the Word of Life. There will be a revival of the Word of God!

• A fresh wave of equipping the saints will crash in upon the shores of the Church empowering Believers to be "sent ones" into the fields of Harvest.(Photo by Robert Bartow "Harvest" viaelijahshopper.com)

• A reset button will be pushed for many people's lives, marriages, families, economics and a time of dreams being fulfilled. It's time to dream again!

• It's a time of reaping the seed sown in previous seasons. God remembers your prayers, labors and tears and He will reward you.

Martyrdom - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Martyrdom
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

“And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” (Rev. 12:11-12 NASU)

Fear, especially of death, can grip a person, a city and a nation. It can keep you from doing the right thing, or speaking the truth when it is your time to stand for truth. Fear keeps us from love, and from walking in righteousness and justice.

Do you know who is the one who is the most fearful of all? It is the devil. The master of fear is the one who is the most afraid of all, for he fears the Almighty One Who will end his reign of terror on the earth. Out of this eternal fear and hatred, he continually seeks to kill, destroy and martyr the saints of God who have taken the Name of Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

During this short time of hellish destruction, while he yet been given time on the earth, men, women and children will give up their lives by the edge of the sword, rather than give up their souls to eternal hell. Because they are called Christians, these believers of Jesus will die by the hands of hateful “followers of God”, or more accurately, believers of Allah. These evil ones have masked themselves as the conquerors, when in fact their soon coming end will result in eternal damnation, along with Satan himself.

While it is gruesome to see our brothers and sisters blood flow from beheadings and ruthless torture, we need not fear that which may come to us too. We have a promise we can stand on.

“…they did not love their life even when faced with death.” (Rev. 12:11) Our temporary life on earth is nothing compared to the eternal life in heaven with our Lord. Therefore we can stand without fear when faced with death. For this reason, heaven rejoices at the death of a godly one.

"These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful."
(Rev. 17:14, NASU)

Our brothers and sisters in the Middle East, Africa, China and more, are with the Lord, and He with them, for they have been called and chosen. They will be faithful even to the end, as they face the edge of the sword. The lord of Lords and King of kings’ strength and love will empower them to give their lives for the greater glory, to later join Him in heaven when others will be judged and condemned to the eternal lake of fire for their murderous actions.

We need not fear our coming time of martyrdom, should that also be the end of this temporal life for us. I for one do fully expect that at some point I too will be called upon to proclaim my faith in Jesus, and be killed as a result of my conviction and belief. By His compassionate grace, I will look into His eyes of love, rather than the eyes of the evil doers.

“Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. There will no longer be any curse; and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and His bond-servants will serve Him; they will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever.

And he said to me, "These words are faithful and true"; and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.

"And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book." (Rev. 22:1-7 NASU)

A glorious time awaits those who give their lives for the One Who gave His life for us. These are the faithful and true words that we can believe, now and forever.

Now think on this,
