Donald Trump will take a "proactive" approach to dealing with violence in Chicago that does not involve simply locking people up, Cleveland-based pastor Darrell Scott said after meeting with the U.S. president on Wednesday.
Scott, a prominent African-American Trump supporter during the presidential campaign, attended a listening session at the White House that also included other black Trump supporters and officials to celebrate the start of Black History Month and to discuss issues affecting the black community.
Trump has pledged to improve the lives of black residents of inner cities and to crack down on crime and violence in urban areas, especially in Chicago, where murders have spiked.
Last month, Trump threatened to "send in the Feds" if Chicago does not get its murder rate under control.
"We're going to have some proactive measures taken with Chicago," Scott told reporters after the meeting. "We're not just going to send in Feds and start arresting black people."
At the start of the White House meeting, Scott said some "gang" members from Chicago had reached out to him about having a sit-down to reduce the violence.
Trump told Scott he supported starting a dialog but stressed that crime must come down.
"If they're not going to solve the problem—and what you're doing is the right thing—then we're going to solve the problem for them," Trump told Scott during a brief portion of the meeting that was open to the media. "Because we're going to have to do something about Chicago."
In January, there were 51 murders in the city, up from 50 a year earlier, according to figures released by the Chicago Police Department on Wednesday. The number of shootings fell to 234 from 242, but the number of victims increased to 299 from 291.
"Murders and shootings remain at levels unacceptable to me," police Superintendent Eddie Johnson told reporters at a news conference on Wednesday, "and you have my word that we will continue to put our plans into place and make the necessary investments in technology (and) training of our officers to make Chicago a safer city."
Police recovered more than 600 guns off the streets in January, a 60 percent increase from a year earlier, and the number of arrests for firearm offenses doubled.

Johnny Enlow's word today. "Fasten your seat belts." February 2017

An encouraging word from Johnny Enlow - "Fasten your seat belts."

Feb. 1, 2017

I woke up today feeling the intense and fiery resolve of God upon our nation. Fasten your seatbelts because February is going to be a month of Him flooding this nation with that resolve. It is not going to be peaceful and it is not going to look like love- but it is going to be furious love designed to establish foundations for extended destiny and peace.

There is nothing like this that our nation has ever experienced. This is Reagan to the 10th power. Only the Lincoln days ...are even on the same scale. Heaven is coming in like a buzz saw and it is going to be shocking what all gets leveled.

God is invading through this Presidency and He is going to use multiple spear heads. It is not just the President- but who He is positioning in the Cabinet, the Supreme Court, the Media, Congress, the Senate, the Military, the Intelligence Community, the FBI and more - a multi-warhead operation that will work in conjunction with what He is doing. Many will not understand until it is essentially over that it is God. It will seem to be too intense and divisive to be God- but it will be Him. He will no longer be the tame, domesticated made-in-our-image God. HE is working a plan.

The Democrats in Congress and Senate are not the enemy- but God will harden their hearts thereby CAUSING an ACCELERATION of what He is doing. There will not be bi-partisan unity in the early stages as God Himself, has a detailed agenda HE is about to implement. It is not the Religious Right agenda, it is not Republican agenda, it is not even Trump agenda- it is HIS agenda that President Trump will increasingly fall in line with. As it comes in it will look chaotic. We will be under the full grip as it were of the birth pains of societal reformation. A Reformation Flood is coming in and it is quite different than a Revival Flood. It will have offshoots of Revival but it will be Reformation. Pray with it, agree with it.

The Potter is coming in because there has been a De-formation of original intent that He is coming to Re-form. He will do that in our government, in our media, in our economy, and in His church. No matter who you voted for prepare yourself for some level of adjustment and change (repentance for short). This is a time to salute our Commander-in-Chief (and I am speaking of God) and then fall in line with everything He is doing.

The intense season doesn't have to be painful. In fact it is designed to be a time of almost euphoric joy for those who agree with Him. YOU can have amazing peace in this very chaotic season because the flood coming in, is ultimately for your great good. It is going to be worth it all- not just in heaven one day, but here in the land of the living. America, America, a flood of grace is being shed on you and you will become The Beautiful.

70 Evangelical Leaders Meet With Ambassador-Designate to Israel David Friedman - BOB ESCHLIMAN CHARISMA NEWS

70 Evangelical Leaders Meet With Ambassador-Designate to Israel David Friedman

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS
Earlier this week, a group of more than 70 evangelical leaders met with U.S. Ambassador to Israel-Designate David Friedman in Washington, D.C., for more than an hour to discuss his nomination as well as the Trump administration's agenda regarding the bilateral relationship with the Jewish state.
The meeting was convened by Joseph Sabag, U.S. National Director for Israel Allies Foundation; Mario Bramnick, President of Hispanic Israel Leadership Coalition and Vice President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Coalition; Bill Dallas, CEO of United in Purpose; and Jim Garlow, Senior Pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church. The combined delegation of faith leaders represented millions of Christians from around the world through major denominations and networks.
Following the meeting, the pastors consolidated their support for Friedman's nomination and issued a joint letter to President Donald Trump.
"After meeting with Mr. Friedman in person, it is clear to us that he is a man of character, principle and faith," Bramnick said. "We believe he will apply his formidable expertise and will faithfully champion our country's interests.
"Now more than perhaps at any other time in modern history, it is vitally important, to both Christians and to our nation as a whole, that America stand firmly behind Israel, the only pluralistic and democratic nation in the region—a nation that shares our values. We are grateful to Mr. Friedman for graciously spending his time meeting with our coalition, and we are pleased to say that we enthusiastically support his nomination."
The joint letter expresses the group's willingness to support moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, should the administration choose to do so.
"While Mr. Friedman is someone we have known and trusted, our meeting today only strengthened our support," Sabag said. "What we can say definitively is Mr. Friedman and President Trump represent a vast upgrade in our nation's support for Israel, and that's something all Americans should applaud and especially evangelical Christians."
The following is the letter sent to the president, applauding Friedman's nomination an offering support for moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel:
Dear President Trump:
We write today as evangelical leaders and lovers of Israel, offering the blessings and support of the many millions of Americans whom we collectively represent. We wish to applaud your nomination of David Friedman to be the United States ambassador to the state of Israel and call upon all members of the United States Senate to vote in favor of his confirmation. Furthermore, we wish to express our support should your administration decide to move our U.S. Embassy to the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish nation, the holy city of Jerusalem.
Our support for Israel is first and foremost rooted in the Bible, in which it is clearly established that God gave the land of Israel, with Jerusalem as its capital, to the Jewish people as an eternal covenant. Indeed, the claim and presence of Jewish people in Israel and Jerusalem has remained constant for more than 3000 years.
Additionally, it is in America's best interest to have a democratic and pluralistic ally like Israel in the Middle East, a nation that shares our values.
Of concern to Christians in particular, Israel is the only country in the Middle East where the freedom of religion is assured and protected. Given the attempted genocide of Christians and the escalating persecution of the church taking place throughout the surrounding region, our community has never seen a more critical time for standing in unwavering support of Israel. Additionally, the abundance of Christian heritage sites in Israel and its territories makes it an especially sacred place for our community, where the freedom of access and free exercise of our religion can only be guaranteed under Israeli sovereignty.
Our meeting with Mr. Friedman has made it clear that you have wisely selected a fellow man of faith, character and principle to represent our country's interests in Israel. We are certain that in his position he will act effectively to champion the vital concerns and hopes of the Christian community. More broadly, we are confident that Mr. Friedman's great talents and expertise will play a key part in carrying out the vast upgrade in support for Israel that your administration has committed to.
Despite the challenges and obstacles that may confront our support for Israel, we know that America remains blessed as "the land of the free and the home of the brave" in large part due to this support. Therefore, at this important time, we wish to affirm our community's commitment to stand with our elected government, Ambassador Friedman, and you, our new president, as you lead our own great nation in pursuit of the many blessings to be drawn from our stance with Israel, the light unto the nations.

Today's Israel Inspiration

The Hebrew language has many words to describe happiness. According to Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks, ‘osher’ (אשר) refers to the personal happiness that one experiences, such as when listening to music or observing something spectacular in nature. ‘Simkha’ (שמחה), on the other hand, is happiness that is created in the company of others, such as when celebrating at a wedding or laughing as a family. In this verse, Isaiah promises that the ransomed of the Lord will return with an everlasting joy, ‘simkhat olam,’ upon their heads. The collective joy of the redemption, of the nation returning to God and to the Holy Land, will be everlasting. Bring tremendous joy and happiness to the people of Israel who need it most.

Beautiful Challah Bread Board

The corners of this simple yet elegant wooden Challah (bread) board are adorned with an articulate Ancient Jerusalem motif, matching the knife's handle. Engraved at the bottom of the board are the Hebrew words "Shabbat and Yom Tov" (Hebrew for "holiday") referring to the times of year when the Challah board is typically used. The wooden center, which is uniquely carved with a modern Star of David through which the crumbs will fall onto the plate below, is removable, making the board fun to use and easy to clean.
