Charlotte, NC USA

Greetings friends and blog readers.

We were blessed in 2015 (our 5th year of the ministry since its birth in 2010) to share the love of the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, with many friends in Israel and other countries. Following are the 2015 financial reports for Love For His People, Inc., with 2014 figures also included.

In a short statement, our income for 2015 totaled $21,044 while expenses were $21,427. Love For His People does not have a paid staff.

In other news to report, in 2015 I authored and the ministry published three of our 11 books, Standing for Truth in a World of Deception, End of Days, and Arms of Love. These can be purchased directly from the ministry or on Amazon’s website, along with the other eight books published since 2013.

Love For His People gave away over $900 worth (in actual cost of printing our books) to donors, churches, ministries and other individuals. You will see that on the financial report.

Our blog, Love For His People blog, will reach the 1 million pageview mark in the spring of 2016. My messages, Now Think On This, are posted on that website and also on both our main website Love For His People and Now Think On This blog and Cross TV - Love For His People Ministries.
Our main ministry website, Love For His People, continues to be produced and maintained by our son, Ben Martin. He also is the one who has done all our logos and media graphic design work since the beginning of the ministry. (You can see his work readily on all sites!)

New Film Takes on Archaeological Deniers of Biblical Exodus, Proves Story is Accurate and True By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

New Film Takes on Archaeological Deniers of Biblical Exodus, Proves Story is Accurate and True

“The LORD said, ‘I have surely seen the affliction of My people who are in Egypt, and have given heed to their cry because of their taskmasters, for I am aware of their sufferings. So I have come down to deliver them from the power of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and spacious land, to a land flowing with milk and honey.’” (Exodus 3:7-8)
One man’s spiritual quest has resulted in a fascinating journey through time and history in search of the truth. When confronted with a religious dilemma, Tim Mahoney, a deeply religious man, began what would become a long and painful voyage in search of the truth.
Asking questions so many have asked before but have been pushed aside in fear of finding an answer that challenged their faith, Mahoney seeks to answer the ultimate question: Is the Bible, the basis of all Abrahamic religions, true? As fantastic as they sound, could the events that forged the relationship between the Hebrews and God really happen the way they were described in the pages of the Bible? If they did, then where is the proof?
Mahoney’s quest resulted in what has become a groundbreaking documentary called “Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus,” which seeks to conquer the divide between science and religion by exploring the validity of the Biblical account of the Exodus through archaeological and scientific data. Directed by Mahoney, the film explores the argument set forth by Egyptologists who claim the Exodus, as described in the Bible, never took place due to lack of physical evidence.
Mahoney’s investigation uncovers that objections to the Biblical version of the Exodus are based on a specific time-line connecting the Hebrews’ presence in Egypt to the reign of Ramses the Second, during the New Kingdom of Egypt. This is based on the verse in the Bible (Exodus 1:11) stating that the Hebrews built the city of Ramses, which archaeologists know existed only during the 13th century BCE. There is no archaeological evidence of Semitic culture in the city, archaeologists say, and therefore the Exodus, despite being a nice parable to base a sermon on, has no factual basis.
Or so they believe.
Undiscouraged and using the Bible as a guide, Mahoney follows rumors of Semitic remains in the ruins of Avaris, a large city in Northern Egypt that had a population of 30,000. Mahoney became excited when the chief archaeologist at the site, Manfred Bietak, revealed that the city had a special, elevated status, a type of free-zone. This seemed to match the Biblical description of Goshen as being separate from Egypt proper.
“And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say: What is your occupation? that ye shall say: Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers; that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.’” (Genesis 46:33-34)
Beitak described that proof of shepherding, an unusual practice in Egypt, was found around the remains of Avaris. Mahoney’s spirits dropped when Beitak said that he did not believe that Avaris is connected to the Biblical Exodus. “In my opinion, the settlement of the proto-Israelites in Canaan only happened from the 12th century BCE onwards,” Beitak explained in the documentary, adding that the city was built at least four centuries before the city of Ramses and ending before the Hebrews were thought to have arrived in Egypt.
With one of the world’s top archaeologists entirely rejecting any factual basis for the story of Exodus as described in the Bible, Mahoney was crestfallen, relating his emotions in the movie: “I was stunned…No Israelites in Egypt means no Exodus, and no Exodus means the foundation of Judaism is a myth.” This was a crisis in faith for Mahoney. “All my life I had believed the Bible stories were true. I know some people say, you don’t need any evidence; just have faith. But if there’s no hard evidence for any of it, had I been believing in a lie?”
Is there archaeological proof of the Exodus? Find out in "Patterns of Evidence: the Exodus" DVD
Mahoney was being faced with prevailing scientific theory denying the basis of his belief. He related to Breaking Israel News how he turned to Professor David Rohl, an Egyptologist, asking him if the archaeologists, historians and scientists were wrong, perhaps even intentionally trying to deny the Bible. Professor Rohl reassured him.
These are honest scholars. What they’re looking at in the ground is what they’re telling us they’re seeing. And they’re not wrong,” he said. “None of them are wrong about this. There is no evidence for the Israelites conquering the Promised Land at the end of the Late Bronze Age. That’s a fact.”
Mahoney understood that it was a matter of timelines. The scientists were looking for Joseph and the Israelites in the time of Ramses, and there was no evidence for this. But the lack of evidence for that timeline was actually a clue hinting that an earlier timeline might be the one proving the truth of the Biblical account. After some persistence and digging, Mahoney learns a new fact that may uncover the connection between Avaris and the Hebrews: Avaris ruins are from a foreign shepherding culture with architecture typical of northern Syria, the home of Abraham.
Mahoney meets with Rohl, who is convinced that Avaris is Biblical Goshen, the area Pharaoh gave to Joseph for the Hebrews to live in. At the site, remains were discovered of a  palace built around 12 pillars with royal trappings. In the land adjacent to the palace were 12 impressive burial crypts. The most elegant crypt was a small pyramid containing an unusually large statue with skin painted yellow, red hair, and a multi-colored robe. Most intriguing was the fact that the crypt contained no human remains. This corresponds to the Biblical account of Joseph’s bones being carried back to Israel when the Jews left Egypt. There are indications that Avaris showed a later period of significant growth and prosperity, with artifacts of Canaanite origin that are clearly not Egyptian. These sites are still largely unexplored.
In another parallel to the Bible, a canal, built during the period of Avaris, still called the Joseph Waterway, connected the Nile to the Fayum Basin. Rohl suggested that it was constructed under the direction of Joseph in order to regulate the Nile flooding.
Mahoney also investigated the Bible’s claim that everyone in Egypt sold themselves to Pharaoh during the famine. Mahoney spoke with Egyptologist Bryant Wood about a period during the reign of Amenemhat in 1850 BCE, when Egypt switched from districts with wealthy local leaders to a period when Pharaoh became much more powerful and the local district leaders were subjugated. Rohl explained that, despite this conforming to the Biblical narrative, this is far too early for the traditional timeline of the Exodus based on Ramses in 1250 BCE.
Later periods of the dig in Avaris show graves containing skeletons with signs of malnutrition and stress. Even more shocking is an increase in infant graves, from a typical 25 percent rate to 50 percent, and an increase in the remains of females who made it into adulthood as compared to male remains. So the reduction seems to have happened on the male side, precisely as described in the Bible.
Rohl brings the Brooklyn Papyrus as further proof. The papyrus documents the domestic accounts of an Egyptian household. Nearly 100 slaves, predominantly female, are listed with Semitic names. This papyrus is not from the New Kingdom when most Egyptologists place the Hebrews in Egypt, but from the Middle Kingdom.
Mahoney then goes to the Dutch Museum in Leiden to investigate the Ipuwer Papyrus, a single page from 1250 BCE which is a copy of another papyrus from the 18th century BCE.  The earlier document records details of events that corroborate the Biblical version, describing the Nile as “blood” and servants running away. It describes a famine and the destruction of all the crops: “Plague sweeps the land, death is everywhere”. In a verse almost identical to the Bible, the papyrus states, “Wailing is throughout the land…yet the poor become rich, slaves take whatever they want.”  Nonetheless, any connection between the Ipuwer papyrus and the Exodus is discounted by archaeologists, because it comes from the Middle Kingdom, far too early according to classical theories.
Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus” is a comprehensive investigation, sifting through details, considering all possibilities. The movie is fascinating and enormously informative, while at the same time well-crafted and enjoyable. An investigation of an archaeological theory, it is also the account of an honest struggle by a man of faith to reconcile these two seemingly contradictory worlds.
As director Tim Mahoney said to Breaking Israel News: In 2002, I began a long journey to find out if the Exodus events recorded in Bible were a historical reality. To do that I used the scientific approach of looking for patterns of evidence. I was just searching for answers which meant I had to be willing to challenge the traditions of both the religious and academic community. But isn’t that what the pursuit of both science and faith should be – a search for truth?”

The Heroic Mother who Saved her Children with her Life

Ron Cantor —  January 22, 2016  Messiah's Mandate

On Saturday night I was typing out on my keyboard when I noticed that Elana was crying while watching the news in Hebrew. This is what was breaking her heart.
Last week a Palestinian terrorist tried to enter the home of Natan and Dafna Meir.  Dafna was adopted at age thirteen and two of their six children were also adopted. She was an amazing woman: She worked as a nurse, she was a premarital counselor for brides and she lectured to religious women on sexual education. You can’t minimize that last part, as there are so many myths and accusations in religious communities regarding sexual relations. She was bold and willing to talk “out loud” about these sensitive issues.
But she is no more.
The petite Meir, sought to fight off the terrorist at the entrance to her home to protect her children who were inside.  In so doing, she suffered a fatal stab wound.
When her seventeen-year-old daughter, Ranana, heard the screams, she can downstairs. The savage saw the daughter and sought to pull his bloody knife out of Dafna and go after the children. Dafna fought the terrorist to keep him from retrieving his knife—keeping it in her dying body.
Her daughter Ranana said:
“I saw him try to pull out the knife. I shouted to my two brothers not to go up to the living room. I understood that he [the terrorist] wanted to continue. It took a few seconds until he realized that he couldn’t remove the knife, and he ran.
“Mom fought with him, she didn’t let him remove the knife, she didn’t let him hurt us. I screamed. He was shocked and fled.”
Ranana recounts her mothers last moments on earth:
“Mom was still breathing, I just asked her the whole time to keep breathing, not to stop, but I already knew. It was clear to me that it was over. She tried to keep breathing. I felt that she heard me even though she already wasn’t responding… I hope that she didn’t hear my screams.”[1]
Meanwhile Palestinian President Abbas is on a campaign to find mercy for his terrorists. Abbas is demanding that Israel release a thirteen-year-old that stabbed an Israeli. When Israelis defend themselves against terrorists, Abbas accuses us of:
“execut[ing] our children in cold blood, as they did to the child Ahmed Manasra and other children in Jerusalem and elsewhere.”[2]
Of course, Ahmed Manasra was not executed or even killed for that matter, but was being treated by Israeli doctors. He was hit by a vehicle as he fled the scene of his crime.
You can watch the video of Ahmed and his cousin searching for Israelis to stab. Both of them are clearly carrying knives. Watch here: Messiah's Mandate website
Abbas, who has not condemned one terrorist attack since this ‘knife intifada’ began—such as the stabbing of Dafna Meir, is stirring up the whole world against Israel for arresting a criminal. In most countries thirteen-year-olds who stab with the intent to kill don’t just get to go home. Of course, if you are from a culture that glorifies murder, that might be different.
Meanwhile the foreign minister of Sweden wants Israel investigated for “extra-judicial killings” referring to Israelis defending themselves against ISIS-inspired terrorists.

Morris E. Ruddick - GAME CHANGERS - SIGN

GAME CHANGERS

(c) Morris E. Ruddick

"Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons and concerning the work of My hands, you command Me." Isaiah 45:11

Isaiah prophesied this amazing word for Cyrus centuries before Cyrus' birth. The time of Cyrus was critical for God's people. Cyrus was raised up by God as a champion-warrior-leader. He would serve as God's chosen vessel to bring about a paradigm shift. His mantle would radically change the game plan to release a new day for God's people.

This prophecy indicates that although Cyrus had not known the Lord that he would. When that happened, his destiny as a game-changer through God would manifest.

In this context, the Lord instructs Cyrus to ask Him about His people and His purpose for them. With those bases covered, God indicates that Cyrus would then be given an authority from heaven to accomplish these things. So it came to pass.

We have come through a time in which we've been instructed in faith. We've learned about the gifts. We've become acquainted with the prophetic and the importance of hearing from God to get His instructions. Yet, God's purposes are always progressive and focused on the big-picture fullness of His plan for His people.

Not unlike the days of Cyrus, God today is again raising up game-changers to accomplish His purposes. Like Cyrus some will come from outside the community of faith. It portends a time of restoration.

For some, it will be as water on parched ground. For others, they won't get it and will even resist it, being so entrenched in their own ways. For them it will be like the generation that Moses led out of Egypt, who failed to flow with His purposes resulting in them neither understanding the shift nor seeing what was promised.

David was a game-changer, as was Moses and Joseph. Each were called, anointed and prepared for times in which God was restoring the forward momentum of His ancient plan for His people.

Prior to the cross, Jesus told His inner circle, that they had not chosen Him, but that He had selected them. So it will be for today's game changers. The modern-day game changers God is raising up will bring restoration the Lord covets for His people. This mantle will be endued with unusual authority. But the pathway is not an easy one.

Power and Blindness
David went against the grain. He was misunderstood. He was chosen by God when the desires of the people to be like everyone else had hit a peak. That was and continues as the trap. It is an identity thing, but it is more than the community's identity with God. "Being like everyone else" masks and erodes God's power among His people, emasculating the purity of its application.

With Saul, Israel had the king they wanted, yet they and Saul remained blind to the heart of God. This was the community context, the spiritual climate and the uphill challenge faced by David on his path to becoming a game-changing champion of God.

David wrote over half the psalms. Many described those from Saul's armies who were tracking down and attempting to destroy him as "wicked." Such responses from the household of faith are not unusual for ones who bear a game-changing mantle.

Game changers are pathfinders, ones who illuminate the path for others to follow. Joseph triggered the ire of his brothers who resented his spiritual sensitivity and betrayed him. Those blind to God's direction and purposes tend to become enraged and seek to destroy those anointed to take things beyond their ensnared view of things.

There's a cost to operating outside the box. Jesus did and was quick to expose hypocrisy. He clearly said the litmus test would be evident by one's fruits. True fruits are derived from those whose mantles have undergone the rigors of a baptism of fire.

That means challenging prevailing mind-sets. It means a higher standard for the ones sent to restore the pathway of human efforts fallen short. Despite having the opportunity for retribution against Saul, David refused to touch God's anointed. Joseph's prescient prophetic gift enabled him to perceive and act on opportunity that would bring results beyond the realm of time. God's perspective in the deliverance of his brothers went toward the future fulfillment of God's covenant with Abraham.

The Distinctive of Game-Changers
The distinctive of the game-changer is the honor of the warrior. It is the bond that is willing to die (John 15:13) for the cause of those and the One served. It is the distinctive marked by a wide gap between true warriors and those wearing masks.

Jesus despised the phonies, but lauded those without pretense who bore the honor of warriors. Discerning the destinies in those he selected for His inner circle, he chose ones with warrior hearts. He told the religious phonies that prostitutes and tax-collectors would grasp the truth he unveiled and enter the Kingdom before them.

Jesus led by example. He stated that He had a baptism to be baptized with and how distressed He was until it was accomplished (Luke 12:50). While game-changers will be misunderstood, they cannot respond personally. When Jesus said His followers would lead by serving, He was describing the heart of a warrior, ones not swayed by the approval of men, but rather impelled by the quest to do the right thing and go to the wall for the truth they served. That distinctive involves the employment of power, righteous power in corrupt settings. These are the ones who will make a difference.

Western Christendom is plagued with wannabes and zealots, ones who have never experienced a baptism of fire. Without the baptism of fire, the zeal is without knowledge. Warriors in the natural are quick to identify those they want along side them in battle. While sound training is paramount, it is those who have transcended the ranks of the phonies, wannabes and zealots and emerged from their baptism of fire with the bond of the warrior, willing to face the ultimate test for their brethren.

They are ones who can be counted on when the going gets tough. It is why God chose Cyrus long before he was born. It is why Jesus was amazed at the heart of the Centurion and his grasp of the essentials bearing on the spiritual.

Spiritually, the cost for game-changers is where faith and the realities of the unseen world collide. Before his martyrdom, Dietrich Bonhoeffer made frequent mention of cheap grace. He lived by what he believed. He was a catalyst in the remnant German church that stood behind the Jewish people and withdrew from the acquiescing church aligned with Hitler. For hypocritical phonies and wannabes, words are cheap and their goals short-sighted. They misdirect and mask the realities. Deceit is driven by evil (Prov 12:20) and undermines otherwise upright intentions. Idle words and deceit fuel this blindness and tend to proliferate to take on a life of their own.

Spiritual Myopia and Idle Words
This is why Jesus made it clear that we would be held responsible for every idle word. This issue involves the misuse of power, the inclination of those untested under real fire, to misdirect their authority to condemn and find fault. Protecting their turf, they stamp out anything contrary to their own limited perspectives. Claiming their actions to be of God and succumbing to a Judas spirit, they indulge themselves in self righteously responding blindly to God's blueprint in others.

The idle words referred to by Jesus are evidence of spiritual myopia, whether knowingly or unknowingly, that opposes God's plan and purpose. Idle words not only are defined by and mask deceit and falsehood, but operate within a regular practice of gossip, compromise, self-serving exaggeration and hearsay. Such practices are at the core of what empowers the wicked and dilutes the efforts of the truly righteous.

Saul and most of his subjects suffered extreme cases of spiritual myopia. It was the same with Joseph's brothers. Jesus discerned the myopia and phony destructiveness in the idle words of the religious rulers against the righteous, whose destinies Jesus affirmed against their condemnations.

Idle words are aligned with those David describes as "bringing down and slaying those whose ways are upright." They hinder and reflect deceit. They are critical and seek destruction. Misuse of the prophetic that overlooks mercy and is predisposed to only discern judgment and calamity can fall into the stronghold marked by idle words.

The truly righteous are called to a path of honor. They bring about restoration, not being ensnared and defined by those who misunderstand and are intent on their destruction. They are first-responders taking up the mantle that brings restoration to God's people.

"Love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust." Matthew 5:44-45

It is the application of such Kingdom principles, to overcome evil with good that ensures vengeance remains with the Lord which opens the gates into the supernatural power required when the game is to be changed, when a line against evil is to be drawn in the sand.

It is revealing that during the rise of Hitler, that although Hitler's inner circle was strongly occult and anti-Christian, that he publicly gave church leaders just enough to harness and then align the German church with his evil purposes. In this he embedded a new level of the wedge of replacement theology. The righteous standard is never to be compromised. Hitler knew he couldn't stand against the church without a major infiltration of its ranks. Hitler's intent was for a non-dissenting church standing behind his Third Reich. He understood the power to be gleaned from usurping the anointing.

So it has been over the centuries that unrighteous power and wickedness from within the community of faith have fueled unrighteous power and wickedness outside the household of faith. The playbook for this scheme is the passion of God's people for acceptance, to be like everyone else.

Yet, when the cosmic struggle that has plagued creation since Adam and Eve reaches this stage, we learn that like in the case of Cyrus, God has already foreordained and prepared the game changers. From the time God has had a people the game changers have been those who have embraced a process.

This process discerns the heart of God and maps out the path to release His authority into the steps toward His plan of restoration.

The Heart, Authority and Sphere
Having discerned and embraced the heart of God, game changes face an alignment with the authority of God. This alignment holds to a critically fine line. It is where the costs are paid and the challenges faced.

The sphere, described in 2 Corinthians 10, is the boundary of the calling, which in turn denotes the boundary of the authority. The sons of Heth in answering Abraham recognized him as one with the authority of a prince. So it was that Joseph, Daniel and Moses were each groomed by God as His righteous representatives with an authority that was at the court level of the rulers of their days.

Jesus stated that those who loved their lives would lose it. David breeched this threshold. In facing Goliath, he risked everything. His face-off with Goliath wasn't a game. It was mortal combat in which only one victor would emerge alive. Against all odds in the natural, David assumed the cost for the sphere and then proceeded with his heart aligned with the heart and authority of God. Then for all to hear and then witness he proclaimed: "Who is this uncircumcised Philistine to defy the Armies of God?" When God is defied and His champions arise, everything changes.

Game changers pay the cost for the sphere and mantle in which they are called to operate. It is not a superstar thing, as dependence must be solely and completely on God.

For Joseph, the cost was 13 years as a slave and prison inmate with an unblemished identity in God. For Daniel, it was the unwavering public honor that he ascribed to God in the court of a king surrounded by the best of the best of the sorcerers of that day. For Moses, it was his face-off as God's ambassador with the idolatrous Pharaoh who unrighteously was repressing God's people. For David, it was years of abusive rejection despite his unquestioned loyalty and service.

The Paradigm Shift
With the game changers in motion, the paradigm is going to shift. This is the groundswell of what is described in Isaiah 60 when it says the wealth of the seas will be turned to Israel and God's covenant people. With the shift, God's authority and power operating through the game changers will bridge into the supernatural.

With the mounting pressures, accurately grasping the heart and timing of God is vital. The models and strategies acceptable a generation ago will be superseded by the new, as the power and impact from the Lord multiplies exponentially. Unlike the corrupt power manifesting, God's righteous power and strategies have always masterfully anticipated the plans and intents of the evil one.

What is pertinent for this hour is the role of the Josephs and Daniels in setting the stage for the alliances with the Pharaohs and Cyruses of today. Joseph was deeply embedded and trusted within the world's system. Daniel, also operated within the courts of a pagan ruler who gave honor to Daniel's faith and the God of Israel.

However, for each, before the game could be changed, the spiritual climate had to shift. Although scripture doesn't say so specifically, I am convinced that the dreams Pharaoh had were the result of Joseph's prayers. I likewise believe that Daniel's intercessions were the catalysts for the progressive climate changes in Babylon preceding the game change that took place through Cyrus.

Both Joseph and Daniel were instrumental in the game change to the benefit of God's people. Their roles and the authority with which they operated supernaturally were the actuators for the paradigm shifts that took place. Both spiritually and in the natural, they embodied God's heart and became His ambassadors of restoration.

The Dividing Asunder
The matrix, the pure matrix of the game changer is embracing His heart and purpose for His sons, for those who face the fire to bear His identity. It will be as Isaiah spoke through the dimension of time to Cyrus: "Ask of Me of things to come concerning My sons and concerning the work of My hands, command you Me." It is a day in which the words of David will manifest prophetically as the paradigm shifts.

"Although the wicked may draw their swords and bend their bows, to bring down and slay those whose ways are upright, their bows will be broken and their swords will pierce their own hearts." Psalm 37:14

Proverbs 3 notes that the root of the righteous cannot be moved. One translation expresses that the truly righteous will never be uprooted. A sequence of scripture from Proverbs 12 then unveils the intense drama underway and the role of words in this struggle, and with it, the outcome for the righteous.

It states the plans of the righteous are just but the advice of the wicked is treacherous. It further reveals that the words of the wicked entrap, but the words of the upright will deliver them. It concludes by stating that the wicked will be ensnared by their own words, but the righteous will escape from trouble, so that the wicked are overthrown and are no more, but that the house of the righteous will stand.

Jesus changed the game. He raised the bar and brought perspective and understanding to those who yearned for the Kingdom, for the fulfillment of God's promises to Abraham. He bridged the natural with the spiritual and unveiled God's heart. He went against the grain and told his followers to do the same and more, and to do it with love and with truth at the helm. He defined love as He demonstrated it, by giving up His life for His friends.

So it is for the times upon us. Jesus said many are called but few are chosen. The crucible has been applied in the preparation. The days are now here when the visions will be fulfilled.

"Oh God, do not remain silent and do not be still. For your enemies make an uproar and those who hate you have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against your people. They conspire together against your treasured ones. They have said, 'Come and let us wipe them out that the name of Israel be remembered no more.' They conspire together with one mind. Against You they make a covenant. Make them like the whirling dust. Like the fire in the forest, so pursue with your tempest and terrify them with Your storm. Fill their faces with dishonor, that they may know that You alone, whose Name is the Lord are the Most High over all the Earth."
Psalm 83:1-5, 13-16, 18

2016 Market Meltdown: We Have Never Seen A Year Start Quite Like This… - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Time Abstract - Public Domain

Posted: 21 Jan 2016  Michael Snyder   THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

We are about three weeks into 2016, and we are witnessing things that we have never seen before.  There were two emergency market shutdowns in China within the first four trading days of this year, the Dow Jones Industrial Average has never lost this many points within the first three weeks, and just yesterday we learned that global stocks had officially entered bear market territory.

Overall, more than 15 trillion dollars of global stock market wealth has been wiped out since last June.  And of course the markets are simply playing catch up with global economic reality.  The Baltic Dry Index just hit another new all-time record low today, Wal-Mart has announced that they are shutting down 269 stores, and initial jobless claims in the U.S. just surged to their highest level in six months.  So if things are this bad already, what will the rest of 2016 bring?

The Dow was up just a little bit on Thursday thankfully, but even with that gain we are still in unprecedented territory.  According to CNBC, we have never seen a tougher start to the year for the Dow than we have in 2016…
The Dow Jones industrial average, which was created in 1896, has never begun a year with 12 worse trading days. Through Wednesday’s close, the Dow has fallen 9.5 percent. Even including the 1.3 percent gains as of noon Thursday, the Dow is still down nearly 8 percent in 2016.
But even with the carnage that we have seen so far, stocks are still wildly overpriced compared to historical averages.  In order for stocks to no longer be in a “bubble”, they will still need to decline by about another one-third.  The following comes from MarketWatch
Data from the U.S. Federal Reserve, meanwhile, say U.S. nonfinancial corporate stocks are now valued at about 90% of the replacement cost of company assets, a metric known as “Tobin’s Q.” But the historic average, going back a century, is in the region of 60% of replacement costs. By this measure, stocks could fall by another third, taking the Dow all the way down toward 10,000. (On Wednesday it closed at 15,767.) Similar calculations could be reached by comparing share prices to average per-share earnings, a measure known as the cyclically adjusted price-to-earnings ratio, commonly known as CAPE, after Yale finance professor Robert Shiller, who made it famous.
Of course the mainstream media doesn’t seem to understand any of this.  They seem to be under the impression that the bubble should have lasted forever, and this latest meltdown has taken them totally by surprise.

Ultimately, what is happening should not be a surprise to any of us.  The financial markets always catch up with economic reality eventually, and right now evidence continues to mount that economic activity is significantly slowing down.  Here is some analysis from Brandon Smith
Trucking freight in the U.S. is in steep decline, with freight companies pointing to a “glut in inventories” and a fall in demand as the culprit.
Morgan Stanley’s freight transportation update indicates a collapse in freight demand worse than that seen during 2009.
The Baltic Dry Index, a measure of global freight rates and thus a measure of global demand for shipping of raw materials, has collapsed to even more dismal historic lows. Hucksters in the mainstream continue to push the lie that the fall in the BDI is due to an “overabundance of new ships.” However, the CEO of A.P. Moeller-Maersk, the world’s largest shipping line, put that nonsense to rest when he admitted in November that “global growth is slowing down” and “[t]rade is currently significantly weaker than it normally would be under the growth forecasts we see.”
In addition, another very troubling sign is the fact that initial jobless claims are starting to surge once again
The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits in mid-January reached seven-month highs, perhaps a sign that the rate of layoffs in the U.S. has risen slightly from record lows.
Initial jobless claims climbed a seasonally adjusted 10,000 to 293,000 in the seven days stretching from Jan. 10 to Jan 16, the government said Thursday. That’s the highest level since last July.
Since the last recession, the primary engine for the creation of good jobs in this country has been the energy industry.

Unfortunately, the “oil boomtowns” are now going bust, and workers are being laid off in droves.  As I mentioned the other day42 North American oil companies have filed for bankruptcy and 130,000 good paying energy jobs have been lost in this country since the start of 2015.  And as long as the price of oil stays in this neighborhood, the worse things are going to get.

A lot of people out there still seem to think that this is just going to be a temporary downturn.  Many are convinced that we will just go through another tough recession and then we will come out okay on the other side.  What they don’t realize is that a number of long-term trends are now reaching a crescendo.

For decades, we have been living wildly beyond our means.  The federal government, state and local governments, corporations and consumers have all been going into debt far faster than our economy has been growing.  Of course this was never going to be sustainable in the long run, but we had been doing it for so long that many of us had come to believe that our exceedingly reckless debt-fueled prosperity was somehow “normal”.

Unfortunately, the truth is that you can’t consume far more than you produce forever.  Eventually reality catches up with you.  This is a point that Simon Black made extremely well in one of his recent articles…
Economics isn’t complicated. The Universal Law of Prosperity is very simple: produce more than you consume.
Governments, corporations, and individuals all have to abide by it. Those who do will thrive. Those who don’t will fail, sooner or later.
When the entire financial system ignores this fundamental rule, it puts us all at risk.
And if you can understand that, you can take simple, sensible steps to prevent the consequences.
Sadly, the time for avoiding the consequences of our actions is now past.

We are now starting to pay the price for decades of incredibly bone-headed decisions, and anyone that is looking to Barack Obama, the Federal Reserve or anyone else in Washington D.C. to be our savior is going to be bitterly disappointed.

And as bad as things have been so far, just wait until you see what happens next.
2016 is the year when everything changes.

Stock Market Bear Bull - Public Domain

It’s official – global stocks have entered a bear market.  On Wednesday, we learned that the MSCI All-Country World Index has fallen a total of more than 20 percent from the peak of the market.  So that means that roughly one-fifth of all the stock market wealth in the entire world has already been wiped out.

How much more is it going to take before everyone will finally admit that we have a major financial crisis on our hands?  30 percent?  40 percent?  This new round of chaos began last night in Asia.  Japanese stocks were down more than 600 points and Hong Kong was down more than 700 points.  The nightmare continued to roll on when Europe opened, and European stocks ended up down about 3.2 percent when the markets over there finally closed.  In the U.S., it looked like it was going to be a truly historic day for a while there.  At one point the Dow had fallen 566 points, but a curious rebound resulted in a loss of only 249 points for the day.

As bad as things are in the U.S. right now, the truth is that we still have a long way to go to catch up with the rest of the planet.  Around the world, many major stock indexes are already down more than 30 or 40 percent.  Overall, the MSCI All-Country World Index is now down 20 percent, which officially puts us in bear market territory
The MSCI All-Country World Index, which measures major developed and emerging markets, fell into a bear market Wednesday, with its decline from early last year now totaling more than 20 percent.
A plunge in U.S. stocks, which caused the Dow Jones industrial average to decline by more than 400 points at one point, pushed the global index into bear territory at midmorning during New York trading.
Japan fell into a bear market as well as the Nikkei 225 index dropped 3.7 percent Wednesday, bringing its total pullback to 22 percent from its high in June.
Much of this chaos is being driven by the price of oil.  On Wednesday the price of U.S. oil dropped below 28 dollars a barrel for a while, and as I write this article Brent crude is still below 28 dollars a barrel.

As energy prices continue to plummet, this is putting a tremendous amount of pressure on junk bonds.  On Wednesday JNK actually dipped beneath 32.00 for a time before rebounding at the end of the day.  I expect to see junk bonds continue to crash during the days ahead as investors feverishly race for the exits.

And of course global economic fundamentals continue to deteriorate as well.  Global trade is absolutely imploding and shipping rates have fallen to unprecedented levels.  If you can believe it, Bloomberg is reporting that it is now actually cheaper to rent a 1,100 foot merchant vessel than it is to rent a Ferrari…
Rates for Capesize-class ships plummeted 92 percent since August to $1,563 a day amid slowing growth in China. That’s less than a third of the daily rate of 3,950 pounds ($5,597) to rent a Ferrari F40, the price of which has also fallen slightly in the past few years, according to Nick Hardwick, founder of supercarexperiences.com. The Baltic Exchange’s rates reflect the cost of hiring the vessel but not fuel costs. Ships burn about 35 metric tons a day, implying a cost of about $4,000 at present prices, data compiled by Bloomberg show.
I could hardly believe that when I first read it.

But this is the kind of thing that we would expect to see happen when the greatest financial bubble in world history bursts.

The 200 trillion dollar global debt pyramid is now collapsing all around us, and the former chief economist of the Bank for International Settlements is warning that we could soon be facing “an avalanche of bankruptcies”
The global financial system has become dangerously unstable and faces an avalanche of bankruptcies that will test social and political stability, a leading monetary theorist has warned.
The situation is worse than it was in 2007. Our macroeconomic ammunition to fight downturns is essentially all used up,” said William White, the Swiss-based chairman of the OECD’s review committee and former chief economist of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS).
Of course it is a little late in the game to be warning us about this now.

At this point there is very little that can be done to stop the collapse that is already happening.

White went on to tell the Telegraph that things are going to become “uncomfortable for a lot of people who think they own assets that are worth something”…
It will become obvious in the next recession that many of these debts will never be serviced or repaid, and this will be uncomfortable for a lot of people who think they own assets that are worth something,” he told The Telegraph on the eve of the World Economic Forum in Davos.
For years, I have been warning that the global financial system is an incredibly shaky house of cards, and now we have finally reached the endgame.

But the mainstream media in the United States is telling everyone not to panic.  Instead of a time to sell, the mainstream media is urging people to jump in and take advantage of all of the “great deals” in the stock market right now.  I really like what Mike Adams of Natural News had to say about what we are seeing…
The pathetically stupid and dishonest financial media is desperately running stories right now to maintain false faith in the markets, even while their own people are behind the scenes selling like mad. As long as they can keep the public believing in the “faith” of never-ending cheap money, they can bail out their own positions to suckers and fools who think a tiny dip in a massively overvalued, fraudulent market is a “buying opportunity.”
Watch for desperate headlines from propaganda financial outlets (such as MarketWatch.com) like, “10 reasons you shouldn’t sell” or “The upside potential of the market is HUGE!” These are psychological operations to try to persuade people that the collapse they’re seeing in global markets isn’t actually happening.
The financial chaos that has erupted in recent weeks has really caught a lot of people by surprise, but my readers knew that it was coming well in advance.

For months, I have been warning about this exact kind of scenario.

The deflationary financial meltdown that started during the last six months of 2015 is now making headlines all over the planet, and what we have experienced so far is just the tip of the iceberg.

The bears have gotten out of their cages, and global investors are running for cover.  Nobody is exactly sure what is going to happen tomorrow, but without a doubt the entire world will be watching.
