7 Ways to Know God's Calling You
There is a myth today that says we must get our life organized and in order before we follow God's call. Our kids must have adequate time with us. Our debt must be paid down. Our days must have space ... and peace.
After all, how can we do great things for God when we don't even have time to spend 10 minutes in prayer? How can we give from an empty well? How can we spare what we don't have, whether it be time, money or energy? Yet God's call never waits for us to unclutter our lives. In fact, He usually calls us when we have nothing to spare. Why?
When we don't have anything to give, we look to the Giver.
When we have no time, we must readjust our priorities and set things according to God's schedule.
When we feel foolish and inadequate, we'll look to God's wisdom.
When we feel wrung out, we'll look to His strength.
And in the midst of following Him, we'll find Him.
When John and I were busy with careers and older kids, God called us to adopt. When I was a busy homeschooling mom and writer, He called me to help start a crisis pregnancy center.
When our family was settled in Montana, God called us to Arkansas—and to an inner city church.
When I had not a moment to spare with book deadlines and kids, He's continued to call me to serve and inspire teenage moms through our Teen MOPS support group.
Even last week, when I had family visiting and a book deadline, God called John and me to help a teen mom move her and her kids. She was blessed. We were blessed too.
And what have I discovered?
More time? (Not really.)
More energy? (I wish!)
Instead, I've discovered that when I do God's work, He takes care of mine (the deadlines get met, the kids get cared for).
Yes, the words for the books and blogs come when I'm too tired to think. And my children are trained on what following God looks like.
Something else happens too. Lives are transformed. Children without a home find one. Young women who don't know what being a mother means are mentored. Some of these young women in crisis even bow their heads and pray for salvation. (I got to experience that recently!)
How do you know what God's calling you to do?
(Notice I didn't say IF He's calling.) Here are seven ways:
   1. There's a burden on your heart you can't shake.
   2. There is a specific person you know of who needs your help.
   3. The Scripture passage that you read encourages you to have faith and step out.
   4. When you pray, you have a sense that God is asking you to act.
   5. You don't have time, but you have a seed of faith.
   6. God brings someone into your life to encourage your calling (your spouse, your pastor, a godly friend.)
   7. You feel as if you can't do it alone.
There are many things that can occupy our time—there always will be. There are good things we can devote our lives to, but the most important things are the God things.
When you do decide to step out, your schedule won't automatically clear. It never does. Instead, God will show up. He will give you extra wisdom, energy, resources and strength. But mostly He will give you Himself!
And when you have Him, you have everything. And when you give others the knowledge of Him, they can have Him too. And when lives around you are transformed, all the stuff you were busy with doesn't seem as important any more.
And God is glorified because it'll be clear to everyone that it's Him doing the work!
How about you? What do you feel God calling you to? What are you doing about it?
Prayer: Father God, You have blessed me with so much. Thank You for the unique life You have given me. Help me manage my time and resources wisely. Guide me as I look to what You are calling me to do and give me the strength and wisdom to fulfill my purpose.

March for Life Protesters Brave Blizzard to Speak for the Unborn - Paul Strand CBN News

March for Life Protesters Brave Blizzard to Speak for the Unborn
01-22-2016

CBN News
WASHINGTON -- Despite threats Washington officials might yank the March for Life's permit because of a dire storm threat, the march went on Friday.
Its participants refused to let a record-breaking blizzard bearing down on the nation's capitol stop them from their mission. Like in the 42 years before, they came determined to bear witness that multitudes of Americans hate abortion.
Starting on the National Mall, they've been marching on the Supreme Court to protest ever since it legalized abortion January 22, 1973. This year's theme: "Pro-Life and Pro-Woman Go Hand-in-Hand."
"I'm so thrilled with the theme of this year's march," Maureen Ferguson, senior policy advisor for The Catholic Association, told CBN News.
"It's so wild-timed because the pro-abortion side, of course, loves to use this as a political football and bandy around terms like 'the war on women.' But we know there's a war on women in the womb," she said. "Half of those babies aborted are little girls."
Catholic Association Senior Fellow Ashley Maguire explained the earliest American feminists were pro-life.
"Starting with the suffragettes who were fighting against slavery and then fought for their own rights to vote - they were very pro-life," Maguire said. "And so the idea that women are by nature pro-choice is completely false."
"And we know that abortion sadly leaves a woman wounded, sometimes physically; emotionally scarred with a hole in her heart for the rest of her life," Ferguson added.
"A woman's capacity to be a mother is empowering and it's a beautiful gift  that's a part of who she is as a person," Jeanne Mancini, who leads the March for Life, said.
Subverted author Sue Ellen Browder was once a pro-choice feminist working at Cosmopolitan. That is no longer the case.
"To be pro-woman is to be pro-life, and of course that's true," she told CBN News before speaking at the March for Life rally. "You know, women want to have babies. Babies bring us joy, happiness, wonder."
Lauren Handy, with the group Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, counsels women heading into abortion clinics. She gets angry at those who accuse her of waging a war on those women.
"I think they use inflammatory language and scare tactics when we try to meet the needs of both the child and the mother, because we know abortion hurts the mother, the father and the child," she said.
Monica Miller, with Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, rejects that the right to this procedure is a key component of women's liberation.
"The sadness and the tragedy of that skewed, perverted point of view - that we actually would have to kill someone, end the life of someone else in order to be free - that's not a freedom," she explained.
"It looks easier and more fun not to have babies sometimes," Browder added. "But in the long run, especially when you get to be my age, and you see the women that did have children and how happy they are and how blessed they are with grandchildren and all that - whereas the old ladies in the nursing home, because they thought they were all free and alone, they're still alone."
"Abortion impacts women negatively, both psychologically and physiologically," Mancini insisted. "In fact we're hearing this week from a new Marist poll that the large majority of Americans believe that abortion hurts women, that it's not good for women, by a 35 percent margin."
Kristan Hawkins told CBN News how her group Students for Life of America constantly looks for ways to minister to young women considering this life-altering decision.
"We're always making sure that we're appealing to her and talking to her about how she's a victim, too," Hawkins shared. "And how the abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood, is directly targeting her."
Planned Parenthood has become a major target of the marchers since it is by far the largest abortion-provider in the country. It ends the lives of more than 300,000 unborn babies every year.

Bill and Marsha Burns share some potent words for to us "Simply and Fortify" in this New Year...and to be connected to Him:

It will be more important than ever in the times we live in to stay connected to God and develop a vital relationship with Him instead of doing external religious exercise. We must stay present with God so that we are able to hear, see, and know by the Spirit. This will be a requirement for the Body of Christ this year.

Be encouraged more than ever to go deeper and draw closer to Him!

"Simplify and Fortify"by Bill and Marsha Burns, Kremmling, CO

We are prophetically making our way to another new plateau, a higher level in the realm of the Spirit.

The instructions from the Lord are to: Simply and Fortify. Our progression will require our undivided attention to stay on course. If we are too scattered, we will miss the importance of the season and make mistakes that could be hard to fix. We must have enough clarity to hear and obey His leading.

In a vision I saw a man making his way up a very steep mountain to reach the place where he would build his house. As he climbed he got tangled in vines and weeds that hindered his ascent. And, I heard the Lord say, "I'm taking you, My people, to a new dwelling place in the Spirit. It is higher than you have ever been. However, the enemy will try to prevent your progression. You must resist the temptations that entangle you and keep you from your destination."

"I want to bring you to a new and higher spiritual level where you can begin to see with clear perspective. From this place your life will be a process of unfolding step by step as I go before you to prepare the way for My purposes to be revealed and demonstrated in your life. Take an inventory of your mental and spiritual condition. You are still in the "simplify-and-fortify process" as change continues to position you for My highest and best. Make an honest assessment of what is important to you, and adjust your priorities so that you truly seek first My Kingdom," says the Lord.

Life is in knowing what you live for: It is up to each one of us to find the common denominator of life and to measure ourselves against this standard.

Connection

It will be more important than ever in the times we live in to stay connected to God and develop a vital relationship with Him instead of doing external religious exercise. We must stay present with God so that we are able to hear, see, and know by the Spirit. This will be a requirement for the Body of Christ this year.

John 17:11, "Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one as We are."

Galatians 5:25, "If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

Truth and Freedom

It is time to break away from everything that keeps us from optimal spiritual freedom.

John 4:24, "God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

We must let go of the past before we can move forward with freedom.

"I am calling you to know true freedom, which will be the result of no guile, no control or manipulation, no unreasonable expectations, and no spiritual clutter. I want you to be unencumbered and free enough to trust Me completely. This is the beginning of a new era of righteousness and purity. Let freedom ring. Recognize and abandon every form of managing or exploiting other people for personal gain," says the Lord.

Psalm 32:2, "Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit."

Psalm 34:13, "Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking deceit."

1 Peter 3:10, "For He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit."

Obedience

Complete obedience is more important than ever, and it will be a huge factor this year. We will now incorporate changes that have occurred into a time of stability on this higher level. We must be true to what the Lord has instructed and led us to do without deviation. Perfect and divine purpose requires perfect obedience.

Romans 6:16, "Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?"

Purity

We must keep our spiritual space clean and clear, striving to maintain pure thoughts, motives and actions.

Pure and undefiled religion before God:

James 1:25-27:
"But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless. Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world."
Jesus is once again overturning the tables in the temple.

John 2:13-16, "Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the money changers doing business. When He had made a whip of cords, He drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen, and poured out the changers' money and overturned the tables. And He said to those who sold doves, "Take these things away! Do not make My Father's house a house of merchandise!"

Words from the Lord to the Body of Christ in 2016:

"You have been in the process of coming into divine order and of streamlining all that I have called you to do and to be. What you have done will stand and be a place of peace, but you must maintain that position because the enemy of your soul will fight you for it.

"You will be tested in ways that will reveal how and where you compromise. You will see how you justify yourself in wrong attitudes and patterns of behavior. Then, you will have the opportunity to choose the most righteous position and carry it out.

"Hear the cry of the Spirit calling you to come higher. It is time to put all laziness behind you and put forth the effort to walk and live at the highest level of your spiritual revelation and understanding. This will require transcending religious tradition.

"Desire to live and practice precise discernment. You will be able to experience and exhibit keen insight that will result in good judgment and righteous decisions. Do not deviate from this position through selfish ambition.

"This will be a season when you can overcome and forgive yourself for mistakes of the past and move into a phase of creativity and productivity beyond what you could have imagined. Rejection must become a thing of the past and not something that defines your life.

"You have justified taking advantage of other people as a means to survival, but I tell you truthfully that I am your avenue of not only surviving, but of thriving. I will cause you to thrive in extraordinary ways if you consciously and deliberately stop all exploitation.

"It is time to face the root of your pain and trust Me to bring healing to your body as well as your soul and spirit. I am the supreme healer; access by faith.

"You must cut the anchors-everything that prevented you from your potential, and kept you from moving forward in My purposes for you. Your steps of advancement and achievement must then become platforms of thanksgiving and worship, which is necessary to your success.

"Unselfishness will become a pathway to reward as you give of yourself, your time, and your resources. Your generosity is a sweet fragrance to Me.

"Embrace and revitalize the gifts that I have bestowed upon you spiritually and in the realm of creative expression.  Do not minimize or neglect what I have counted as precious in My sight."

The Zionist Dream Fulfilled ✡ Take Pleasure in Her Stones - JERUSALEM365

Shabbat Inspiration

While the Bible is full of God’s promise to redeem the Jewish people, many have asked what the Jewish people have done to deserve His redemption. This verse implies that the redemption will begin through their commitment to the Land of Israel and the stones of Jerusalem. Even if the Jewish people demonstrate an insufficient commitment to the laws of religious observance, as long as they love the “dust and stones” of Israel, it will be considered sufficient by God to allow for the redemption. Many of the early twentieth-century Zionists may not have been religiously observant, but nevertheless, it was their love of the Land which paved the way for the beginning of the flowering of the redemption.

Nov. 29, 1947:
A Vote that Changed the World

On November 29, 1947, the UN voted to end the British Mandate in the Holy Land. A vote that lasted a mere 3 minutes changed the course of history and brought 2000 years of Jewish exile to an end.

From Slave Mentality to
Free Warriors

The transformation from a nation of slaves who are miraculously rescued from the Egyptian army, to a nation of fighters who can stand up to Amalek is amazing, and it is the parting of the Red Sea which actually sets the stage for the transformation.

Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus DVD

Right in time for the Sabbath Torah portion, Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus by Timothy Mahony, is a video examining a plethora of information gathered during twelve years of research and travel, in an attempt to unlock and reveal evidence of one of the most well-known stories within biblical history, The Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. Literary, archaeological and historical records were examined to determine whether or not the famous story of the Exodus of Israelites from the land of Egypt is fact or fiction.
