Israeli Doctors Save 4000th Foreign Child's Heart

Sanusey lives with his family in a small town south of the capital of Gambia, the smallest country on the African continent. At the age of three months, doctors diagnosed him with a severe heart defect. After three years of regular trips to the local hospital, doctors there began searching for expertise from abroad to save Sanusey’s life. They found that expertise in Israel.

Sanusey arrived in Israel last month along with three other children from the Islamic Republic of Gambia to undergo life-saving heart surgery courtesy of the Israeli NGO Save a Child’s Heart. The British Jewish Federation in cooperation with Israeli Ambassador to Senegal Paul Hirshon, who is responsible for relations with Gambia, connected the children and their families with this wonderful organization.

Four-year-old Sanusey marked a milestone for Save a Child’s Heart, being the 4,000th child that the organization has connected with Israeli doctors for successful life-saving heart surgery. Many of those children have come from Africa and the Arab Middle East.

Given the complicated nature of Sanusey’s condition, his treatment was at times harrowing for both doctors and the little boy’s family.

After arriving at Ben Gurion Airport with his big sister, Panda, Sanusey was taken to Wolfson Medical Center in the Tel Aviv suburb of Holon for preliminary tests. Shortly after, his condition deteriorated severely. Within minutes, the medical staff stabilized little Sanusey and rushed him into emergency surgery, where Dr. Lior Sasson and his operating staff worked for hours to save the boy’s life.

Panda was left to sit, cry and pray for her brother. Those prayers were answered, and just three days after surgery, Sanusey was sitting up in bed and smiling. Today, he is recovering with other children from around the world at the Save a Child’s Heart center in Holon.

A further three children from Gambia recently arrived in Israel for heart surgery, and Ambassador Hirshon has arranged for a number of doctors from the African nation to visit Israel and gain the knowhow to provide more advanced care at home.

Be’ad Chaim, a Messianic pro-life and women’s health organization has received an award from the Israeli government for their “significant contribution to the protection of mothers and children.” What began as a small Messianic prayer group, has blossomed into a nationally recognized women’s health organization.

It began back in the 1980’s, when Messianic Pastor Tony Sperandeo (pictured, right), together with other local believers, initiated a fight against what they called “the shedding of innocent blood” in Israel. They started a regular prayer meeting, lectured in congregations across the land, and passed out fliers on street corners teaching people that abortion is a sin against God, and against our own people.

Today the organization is having a significant impact for change in Israeli society as social workers, welfare officials and needy families around the country refer mothers with unborn children and crisis pregnancies to one of Be’ad Chaim’s 12 offices.

“It is very significant in our short history that a Messianic Jewish organization is now recognized as a well-known, humanitarian organization in Israel,” says Sandy Shoshani (pictured, left), director of Be’ad Chaim, told Israel Today upon receiving the award. “I am humbled, honored and appreciate all those who went before me.”

Why would the government chose a Messianic pro-life organization for the award above other organizations providing care for mothers and their babies? “We offer sensitive and caring assistance in a loving Messianic atmosphere,” notes Shoshani. “And we help all mothers, and all babies.  Sudanese, Arab and Jewish mothers all come to us. While the largest pro-life organization in Israel will not assist non-Jewish mothers and children, including many Russian immigrants, we help them all. We even have many Orthodox Jewish women coming to us for assistance when they are pregnant out of wedlock. They do not want to be recognized by their own religious communities.”

One of the main reasons for abortion today is financial concerns. “We ask the women if they would keep their babies if they knew that the baby’s stroller, crib, diapers and other needs would be provided for during the first year,” Shoshani explains. “Almost all of them say yes, they would. So we developed the concept of Operation Moses where we find sponsors to pray and provide for Israel’s babies until their first birthday.” Today, Operation Moses is assisting 450 mothers and babies.

To date, over 1,500 babies have been saved through the program. Most of the support for the mothers and babies comes from Christians who care about Israel. “We have donations from China, Hawaii, Finland – all over the world. If they want, sponsors are able to have a personal relationship with mom and baby. They share pictures, and many are in regular prayer for the young families,” Shoshani tells us.

Lester Sumrall went home to be with the Lord in 1996, but his legacy continues—and his God-breathed prophetic words are still alive.

In a 1987 video capture, Sumrall, whose spiritual father was Smith Wigglesworth, shares seven prophetic insights God revealed to his heart earlier in his walk with the Lord. I wish they weren't accurate, but it seems he heard rightly. You can watch the video to see all the warnings. I'm going to focus on just one of them.

"I said, 'God, I don't understand this at all.' He said, 'You're going to see it and here are seven things to watch.' And God gave me seven things to observe. Number one was, America will depart from its historic faith. Now at that time, the Supreme Court hadn't done any of those strange things, such as permission to kill unborn babies and giving such rights to homosexuals. See, none of that happened."

None of those things had happened when the Lord first spoke to Sumrall but many things have happened since. The man of God received these revelations before Roe v. Wade, before the Supreme Court decision to sanction homosexual marriages and before the growing persecution of Christians in America. Indeed, conditions have grown much worse since Sumrall first heard the Lord speak—and since he released these prophecies.

Departing From the Faith

Sumrall pointed to this Scripture in his teaching: "Now the Spirit clearly says that in the last times some will depart from the faith and pay attention to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their consciences seared with a hot iron..." (1 Tim. 4:1-2).

We've certainly seen this happen. Numerous high-profile Christians have turned from Christ to trumpet atheism. Numbers of others have come out as gay. Entire denominations are rejecting sound Bible doctrine for fear of offending people or because the spirit of the world has deceived them. And who knows how many others have backslidden and are on the edge of the Great Falling Away?

At the same time, we see end-times theologians insisting the Lord is coming back soon while engaging in heated debates over when that will happen, if there is really a rapture, and other things we probably won't know until we see it with our eyes. One thing is certain: Jesus will not return for a church without spot or wrinkle unless the falling away comes first ... (1 Thess. 2:3). We don't have to agree on all the signs of the times but we shouldn't ignore the ones that are clear. And the Great Falling Away, at this point, is clear. It has started.

Believing the Devil's Lies

We've witnessed more than one man of God with a major ministry platform bow a knee to doctrines like universalism, deceiving and being deceived with this deadly heresy. Despite many in the church lifting their voice against heretical teachings, these deceived ministers hold fast to their demonic doctrine.

We've also watched famous pastors speak lies in hypocrisy—lies that left many hurt, wounded, and disillusioned—and yet they remain adored and adorned in the megachurches that made their name great. Clearly, the conscience of some influential church leaders has already been seared with a hot iron (1 Tim. 4:2). Some have become the proverbial blind leading the blind.

The Bible tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12). We need to get at it because this is sure: Jesus is coming back for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle (Eph. 5:27). I believe the spots and wrinkles will fall away before His return. The gates of hell are trying to prevail against the church and will ultimately fail, but not before enticing some believers into heresy, idolatry and other sin.

I don't believe in once-saved, always-saved doctrines. I believe you can lose your salvation. I don't think it happens overnight. I think it's a slow progression down the slippery slope of deception. I often ask people who are deceived this question: "How would you know if you were deceived?" I've never met one who was deceived find an answer for the question. Rather, they insist that they cannot be deceived or that they would know if they were. If we don't think we could be deceived, we're deceived already. And if we are deceived, we wouldn't know it unless the Holy Spirit broke in and opened the eyes of our heart.

So is the Great Falling Away already underway? I believe it is. We're seeing full-blown apostasy in the church. We need to be watchful and pray. I pray that the Lord would count me faithful, that I would not be deceived in these last days, and that I might be a pure vessel the Lord can use to sound the alarm. What about you?

Stronger Pro-Israel Language Recommended for GOP Platform

Prior to the 2012 Republican National Platform, the GOP has traditionally called for a united Jerusalem as the eternal capital of Israel, and that the U.S. government move its permanent embassy there.

During the last platform debate, Republican operatives removed the language, which is significant not only to evangelicals, but to most mainstream Americans who support Israel. Pastor Mario Bramnick, who also serves as president of the Hispanic Israel Leadership Coalition, says he's confident new, stronger pro-Israel language is about to be reinserted into the GOP platform for 2016.

"We have been working with the senior advisers on Israel with the Trump campaign," he said. "We're working to not only rectify the language, but to insert stronger language, to call for a united Jerusalem and to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to the unified Jerusalem."

Bramnick said Trump's key Israel advisers—Jason Greenblatt, a real estate attorney with the Trump Organization, and David Freeman, president of American Friends of Bet El Communities in Israel—are both Orthodox Jews. Being strong supporters of Israel themselves, he said they have been "very reassuring."

"They're absolutely with us," he added. "The vote is set for [Monday] afternoon or [Tuesday] morning, depending on the calendar. We're very encouraged the language will appear in the platform, and the Republican nominee will be strong on those issues."

Budapest, Hungary - Jim Clint Family Update - Third Anniversary

Clint Family Update

Third Anniversary

It’s now been three years since we all left Northern Ireland to dedicate ourselves to serving the LORD amongst Hungary’s Jewish community. On July 1st 2013 we all arrived to a very hot Hungarian summer. In these three years we’ve come a long way, with many challenges, with both disappointments and blessings.

We’ve always been aware that we have many people praying for us from many countries around the world. Some of these people we have never met before, still in Yeshua we are family and look out for each other. As parents Nauszika and I are extremely proud to how the three children have progressed.

The girls are now young ladies and not children, Sara Rose will be fourteen on July 18th, Naomi Ruth is now thirteen, and Yonatan Israel will be seven on September 7th. All three have worked very hard at school, learning the Hungarian language which is considered to be one of the most difficult languages in the world. Yes there are times when we miss Northern Ireland, hopefully we’ll be able to get back to see family in the winter.

We’ve been able to build up good relationships with the Jews of Hungary, especially here in Budapest. Being able to meet with the Jewish Agency has been a key factor in winning trust in the community. Apart from the Jewish Agency we are the only group helping Hungarian Jews to make Aliyah to Israel. Above all, the LORD is the one who has sustained us throughout these last three years.

1st Corinthians 15:58…. So, my dear brothers, stand firm and immovable, always doing the LORD’s work as vigorously as you can, knowing that united with the LORD your efforts are not in vain.

Aliyah Work

Please continue to pray for all those Olim (new immigrants) we have assisted with funds. A few days ago we were happy to hear that Benjamin had made Aliyah. Benjamin an 18 year old from Budapest was assisted a few months ago. After he completes his Hebrew language course in the Galilee he will start his army service as a “Lone Soldier”. This means that he has no family living in Israel to connect with. I know that Lone Soldiers often find it difficult in their first few months of army service. Anyone wishing to help Benjamin with a small donation can Email me.

Yair, another Lone soldier we helped over a year ago is now serving with an elite army unit. Another girl caller Sara will get married early in 2017. We also helped Sara with funds over a year ago. I make a point of keeping in touch with every Olim we help. Please remember to pray for all the Hungarian Olim we help back to their Land of Promise.

The “S” family from Koszeg in western Hungary are also expected to leave very soon. I remember well the day when I gave them the funds for Aliyah, we all sat in the Jewish Agency office in tears. They appreciated Ezra’s help, without which they would never have been able to afford to pay the required expenses. In order to help these dear people and also operate ourselves we depend upon the love offerings of brothers and sisters with a heart for the Jewish people.

Synagogue Attack

In late June the synagogue in the town of Gyöngyös 25 miles north-west from Budapest was attacked two days in a row, on a Wednesday and a Thursday. On the Thursday a few older men from the Jewish community in the town were in the synagogue when the second attack happened. The synagogue had some of its windows smashed. I believe that the police are still trying to find those responsible for the attack. Please pray for Rabbi Peter Weise (pic above) from Gyöngyös, I know Peter personally, he’s a quiet and humble man. I know that he will be very concerned because of what has happened.

Meeting friend from Northern Ireland

In early July we had a visit from Véronique a friend who lives and works in Northern Ireland. It was good for us all to get together and have lunch in Budapest’s Jewish quarter. We were able to take Véronique on a tour to see some of Budapest’s Jewish sites and memorials.

Political Situation in Hungary

The political climate in Hungary is steadily getting worse. The present right wing FIDESZ government is becoming increasingly unpopular because of its decisions. Both the schools and hospitals are underfunded, this has led to protests in both hospitals and schools. Sadly this is playing into the hands of the Far Right Jobbik party. Eastern Hungary is a Jobbik stronghold, in the east the people are poorer and employment is difficult to find. Please pray that the Jews of Hungary will see the danger which in on the horizon. Nationalism is on the rise all over Europe, again the Jews will be blamed for all problems!! Please pray that the LORD will guide us as we seek warn Hungarian Jews about this danger.
