It's Inauguration Day! Here's the Schedule of Events

BOB ESCHLIMAN  CHARISMA NEWS
Today is Inauguration Day, when President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence will each take their respective oaths of office.
Over the past 228 years—and 57 previous inaugurations—a number of traditions have developed as part of our nation's process of peacefully transferring power from one administration to the next. Here's the schedule of events for Friday, as well as some of the history surrounding them.
All times are Eastern Standard Time.
10 a.m.: Morning Worship Service — This tradition actually began with President George Washington, who attended a church service after he was sworn in. President Franklin Roosevelt made it a permanent part of the inauguration by attending a service at St. John's Episcopal Church, located across the street from the White House, the morning of the inauguration.
11 a.m.: The Procession — With the exception of Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson, who both walked to the Capitol for their inaugurations, ever president has ridden in a carrier or automobile to the location of their swearing-in ceremony. Since 1837, when Martin Van Buren rode with Jackson to his inauguration, the outgoing and incoming presidents have taken this journey, now known simply as "the procession," together.
11:30 a.m. The Inauguration — There will be some speeches made prior to Pence and Trump taking their respective oaths of office (the vice president goes first, followed by the president, and they have different oaths to take), which begin as close to 12 p.m. as the organizers can get it. Originally, the vice president took his oath in the Senate Chamber, then led the Senate to the inaugural ceremony for the president. Today, they are done together. Prior to 1981, the ceremony was held on the East Front of the Capitol; now it's done on the West Front, facing the National Mall.
12 p.m.: Trump's Inaugural Speech — There isn't any tradition as to the length or subject matter of the presidents' inaugural speeches, and as a result they have varied widely over the years. Washington's second address, clocking in at just 135 words, is the shortest. President William Harrison's speech, the longest by far at 8,445 words, has been considered a contributing factor to his death from pneumonia one month after taking office.
12:30 p.m.: Obamas Depart the White House — The 1889 Handbook of Official and Social Etiquette and Public Ceremonies at Washington describes the outgoing president's retirement as follows: "His departure from the Capital is attended with no ceremony, other than the presence of the members of his late Cabinet and a few officials and personal friends.  The President leaves the Capital as soon as practicable after the inauguration of his successor." Sometimes, this is easier said than done.
1 p.m.: Inaugural Luncheon — The National Statuary Hall in the Capitol will once again host the reception at which the president, vice president, and members of Congress will have a three course meal. This tradition dates as far back as 1897, when the Senate Committee on Arrangements gave a luncheon for President William McKinley and several other guests at the Capitol, but it did not begin in its current form until Dwight Eisenhower's inauguration in 1953.
3 p.m.: Inaugural Parade — Trump and Pence will make their way down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House, leading a procession of ceremonial military regiments, citizens' groups, marching bands and floats in a tradition that dates all the way back to 1789. The President, Vice President, their spouses and special guests will then review the parade as it passes in front of the Presidential Reviewing Stand.
The weather forecast for Friday, as of this writing, calls for rain, but little wind, and temperatures in the upper-40s. Gates for the spectator areas open at 6 a.m., and music will begin being played at 9 a.m.

The word "beloved" describes the strong bond between Hashem and his children. This ring engraved with its inspiring Biblical verse, reminds us of the unique relationship that each of us has with Hashem. This loving relationship described in Song of Songs is often paralleled to the relationship of a bride and a groom, a husband and wife. We should always strive to make sure that our love for God is as strong as our love for our spouses and families.Wear the ring of an eternal bond today.

“I Am Praying for Israel”

It’s great to hear from you and make new friends from all over the world. Please send me an email and let me know how you are enjoying Israel365 (don’t forget to say where you are from!).

Hello Rabbi Tuly, It is on my TO DO LIST to come to Israel. I have always had a deep love for the Chosen People. I send prayers email wise to the Walling Wall where they put them in. Many prayers have been answered. I am into family ancestry. 2015 I had a DNA test, and to my surprise it revealed my German Ancestors were Jewish. I don't know who they were at this point, but it made me happy to know this. Also some of my ancestors have the name TULLY! Those are Irish. I searched online and i indicated the royal family in England has Jewish DNA. I watch 2 Jewish Channels  we have on TV. I live in MI in the USA. I am praying for Israel. Wishing you a wonderful day, Carol
Shabbat Shalom,

Conservative Christian Leaders Gather in DC, Calling Trump's Election an Answer to Prayer

STEVE STRANG  CHARISMA MAGAZINE
Strang Report, by Steve Strang, Founder of Charisma magazine
I'm in Washington, D.C, to attend tomorrow's inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States.
Although the news media is predicting protests, what I'm seeing is that everyone is abuzz and excited by Trump's election and inauguration.
This proved especially true at a special prayer meeting today, hosted by Pastor Jim Garlow of Skyline Church in San Diego, and at several other events held at the historic Greater New Hope Baptist Church near the White House.
For two hours, dozens of Christian leaders prayed for the president, the vice president, the Cabinet, the Supreme Court and everything else you can think of. The meeting was packed with well-known evangelicals, including James Dobson, Tony Perkins of the Family Research Center and David Barton of Wallbuilders. But there were also many who were identified as intercessors. As the meeting progressed, the time of prayer grew more and more powerful until at the end, it became flat-out, fervent intercession for our country. It was one of the most powerful, Pentecostal-style prayer meetings I have ever attended.
The common theme was gratitude and thanksgiving to God for Trump's election. Several commented that Trump was by no means perfect. However, they felt his election was an answer to prayer in that the election of Hillary Clinton would have meant a continual downward spiral for our nation.
In any case, there seemed to be no bitterness or vitriol, but rather, heartfelt thanksgiving and a realization that the real work is not going to be done politically but in the spirit.
  • Historian David Barton shared lessons about the first inauguration in New York City in 1789—which included fervent prayer—and the way George Washington incorporated prayer three times in his first inaugural address. Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, said Christians must—like Nehemiah—start in prayer and then get to work. Jim Garlow told the crowd that if they claimed they were instrumental in getting Donald Trump elected, they were wrong. "This was done by God," he explained to wild applause.
  • James Robison told about his close relationship with Donald Trump and mentioned how open the president-elect is to Christian counsel. He also chided Christians, saying none of them would have picked Peter to preach at Pentecost because of his denial of Christ. He implied that although Donald Trump isn't perfect, that doesn't mean God won't use him. "We must lift this President up," he said.
  • Lance Wallnau, who wrote in Charisma that he believed Trump would be the 45th president, said Trump is like Cyrus in Isaiah 45: God raised him up. "He is a wrecking ball to the gates of hell," Wallnau said. He said later about Trump's election, God "did this for Israel's sake!" This got a huge reaction from the audience.
  • Ralph Reed said to the crowd, "Good news! Your prayers and supplications to God have been heard." Before praying, he also said there are more believers in Trump's Cabinet than in any presidential Cabinet in history and "The enemy is not thrilled."
  • Michele Bachmann, former Congresswoman from Minnesota, thanked God as she prayed: "People confessed our sins and cried out; thank You for turning the pages of history."
  • Trent Franks, a Republican from the 8th District in Arizona, said he was praying with gratitude for the election. "This breathes new hope into the nation," he said. He also predicted the Trump election would create a "bond with Israel as never before." Associate Justice Tom Parker of Alabama prayed for the justices, quoting Psalm 82:5 and Isaiah 12:6. He also asked God to "restore judges as in the days of old."
  • Frank Pavone, national director of Priests for Life, said in his prayer that he "submitted the Supreme Court of the United States to the Supreme Court of Jesus Christ."
  • Todd Starnes of Fox News prayed for the media, asking for "miracles of biblical proportion, that there would be revival in news rooms." He asked for good news to be reported instead of fake news. He reminded the crowd that in 1949, William Randolph Hearst reported on Billy Graham, launching him nationally. He asked God to "Do it once again. Raise up reporters that would seek your face."
  • Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece, asked God to break the yoke of racial "tensions in our country." She reminded the crowd that there is only one race and one blood under Jesus Christ.
  • Sammy Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, prayed about the immigration issue, declaring that God is "God of the stranger" and asking that "God would make us one."
  • Many others prayed, including a Native American; a man from Taiwan, who prayed for relations with China; and a man from Russia, who prayed in Russian for relationships between the two countries.
With all the festivities going on in Washington, including a couple of "Christian Gala" events, I found it significant that more than a thousand believers gathered at a church to pray fervently for our nation. In fact, the gathering, only 24 hours before the actual swearing-in, started late because the line of those waiting to get through security wrapped around the block. I will report later on other inaugural events I attend, including the actual swearing-in tomorrow and the Faith, Freedom and Future Ball Friday night.
I'm praying that as you read, you'll add your own prayers in the Comments Section and forward this to others, encouraging them to pray. The entire nation needs to pray. We need a revival in America. Our answers are spiritual, not political.

Once Again, Pro-Life Women Have Been Silenced - KATRINA TRINKO/DAILY SIGNAL CHARISMA NEWS

Once Again, Pro-Life Women Have Been Silenced

KATRINA TRINKO/DAILY SIGNAL  CHARISMA NEWS
It's 2017, and women are still being silenced.
The twist is that it's now by other women.
The Women's March on Washington, scheduled to occur the day after President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, had listed a pro-life group, New Wave Feminists, as a partner organization. After The Atlantic highlighted the group's participation as a partner in the march, the Women's March took the group off the list, saying its inclusion had been an "error."
"The protest is pro-choice, and that has been our stance from Day One," the Women's March said in a statement. "We want to assure all of our partners, as well as our participants, that we are pro-choice as clearly stated in our Unity Principles. We look forward to marching on behalf of individuals who share the view that women deserve the right to make their own reproductive choices."
Never mind that the event's organizers had told The Daily Signal's Kelsey Harkness in December that pro-lifers were welcome to participate in the Women's March. "The message is not whether a person is pro-life or pro-choice," said march organizer Tamika Mallory at the time.
It wasn't entirely surprising they caved. Since Mallory spoke to The Daily Signal, Planned Parenthood has become a partner. And after The Atlantic published its article about the New Wave Feminists' inclusion, liberal feminists tweeted their dismay.
The exact mission of the Women's March, which started with Hawaii grandmother Teresa Shook's Facebook comment on election night that "I think we should march," has been somewhat nebulous from its inception.
"What sparked the need for this movement was the rhetoric of the campaign was so demeaning to women," Shook told ABC's Good Morning America in an interview. "I just felt women needed to stand up and say, 'Here we are, hear our voice, we're strong, we're empowered, and we're not going away.'"
But regardless of the mission the event organizers finally settled upon (assuming they did settle on one—the Women's March is now in trouble with liberal feminists for removing a statement on rights for sex workers), it shouldn't be called the Women's March if it isn't meant to be inclusive for all women.
As much as the left (and some of its cheerleaders in the media) loves to portray women as a unified bloc of pink-wearing Planned Parenthood cheerleaders who cherish no political right as much as they do the right to abortion, the political reality is far more complicated.
Four out of 10 women in America think abortion should be "illegal in all/most cases," according to a poll released last year by the Pew Research Center. And two-thirds of women voters support legislation that would ban abortions after 20 weeks except if the mother's life is in danger or in cases of rape and incest, according to a November poll commissioned by the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life organization.
In other words, the pro-choice position of the "Women's March" is excluding a lot of American women.
And unfortunately, that's all too common. In our political discourse, it's regularly assumed that all women agree with the Lena Dunhams of the world.
It doesn't matter how many women passionately believe both female and male unborn children deserve the right to life, despite being small and dependent. It doesn't matter how many women think all women deserve something better than the kind of treatment delivered by Dr. Kermit Gosnell, under whose care a woman undergoing a second-trimester abortion died.
It doesn't matter how many women think what can best help a woman facing an unexpected pregnancy is financial support and personal care, the kind delivered by pregnancy centers across the country—not a push that she end the life of her child.
Or at least that doesn't matter to the liberal feminists who constantly demand pro-life women be excluded.
It's time the left accept that women have a diversity of views on many issues, including abortion.
And if liberal feminists are sincere about women's rights, they'll realize that means all women, not just those they agree with, deserve a seat at the table (or a place in the march) to represent their views.
