“It’s time to let go.” Steve Martin, Love For His People ministry

May 30, 2022 Love For His People in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA

Greetings to my family and friends of Love For His People.

While many of us have enjoyed some time off to commemorate Memorial Day here in the USA, I believe the Lord wants to encourage you yet again to fully trust Him for your future, and step out in faith to what He has been calling you to do. He has never stopped working out His plans and purposes for the nations.

The time is short. We don’t have decades to do what the Lord wants us to do now. Please read my message below to find out more.

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

Love For His People ministry

P.S. Do you like the videos David Peterman and I have been sharing with you? Let us know! We hope to do more on a regular basis as the Lord gives us messages.

It’s Time To Let Go

“We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work.” John 9:4, NASU

Back in 2010, I was getting a real sense from the Lord that I was to quit my third job with an international ministry. To start our own vineyard.

I had been “crying out to the Lord” for many years while laboring in the other vineyards of well-known ministries (24 total years in fact), and yet while I truly appreciated that honor of service, this cry in my heart was to have my own ministry. I know some of you can relate to that.

When I got the courage to do so and prayed long and hard for the faith to step out and jump off the cliff, I shared it with my good wife, Laurie, who at that time had already walked with me for 33 years. It had been a long and weary road, moving from Iowa to Illinois, to Michigan, to Florida, and then finally to our home of 26 years now in Charlotte, North Carolina. With four kids being raised as best we knew how we sought Him continually for direction and wisdom. By now the Lord Jesus Christ had taken us to that point of decision.

Would we walk in further faith? Would we step out in the courage we really didn’t know fully it would take? Would we believe God for provision and protection, while anticipating lack at some point along the way?

The decision was made. As Iceman (Val Kilmer) told Maverick (Tom Cruise) in the latest Tom Cruise movie (May 2022) “Top Gun: Maverick”, “It’s time to let go.”

I gave my usual 6-month notice that I was leaving. The time would be July 1, 2010. I was 55 years old at that time when we formed Love For His People ministry. It had encouraged me that Derek Prince was also 55 when he started Derek Prince Ministries, originally known as Derek Prince Publications, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Yes, I always gave a 6-month notice to help those I was departing from staff to find another replacement or prepare in another way for my not being there. In my world, it was the proper thing to do, in integrity and commitment to not ever burn bridges. Ever.

Making that decision was not easy, in both the natural and the spiritual realms. Making $70,000 a year, having four weeks’ guaranteed vacation time, fully paid medical insurance, and being the head of a ministry in the USA that was well-established took faith. Oh, how I prayed for more of it.

And so did my good wife.

But I knew if I was to stay on in that “comfortable” position I would have not walked in faith. I would have disobeyed the Lord. I would have let His best for me and her go on by, to only walk in a mediocre Christian life. I didn’t want that. Neither did He for us.

This morning, May 30, 2022, I was texting with someone close to me. In fact, we have known each other for over 63 years. As I was responding to something they wrote, I strongly felt the Lord give me this word for them as a couple.

“The Lord continues to set you two up for dynamic leadership in your area. Building on the solid foundation He has laid in your hearts and entire beings over the years. Prepare for more. Free yourselves up from things that others can do so you have more time to do fully what you two have been called to do. The time is short. We all need to focus more fully on leading, directing, and teaching.”

The Lord has given me spiritual gifts to share, and as I do those gifts grow in power and accuracy. This was one of those times I felt from the Holy Spirit that it was from Him directly for them.

There are some of you whom the Lord has been quietly speaking to you about leaving behind something you have hung onto for years, so He can give you another glass to fill up with new grace, new realms of authority, new adventures, new measures of faith and power that you too have secretly in your heart only dreamed of.

But “Guess what?” as my grandson Levi likes to say. Our Lord has MORE for you. But you need to believe, ask for more faith, and step out. Do it. Trust Him to meet all the needs which He certainly can.

You may be fearful. You may have doubts, You may not want to step on the “I don’t know where this road will take me” path.

But be as Indiana Jones and make that first step onto the unseen to cross over. The Lord is waiting for you to do it. So do it!

And as a sidenote. In 2011, my first full year in that walk of faith, my income went from $70,000 a year to $11,000. (Laurie’s $14,000 earned from her part-time job continued.) I have our 2009-2011 federal and state income tax reports to prove it. But you need to also know…the Lord every month and since then had covered our mortgage payment (and our home of 26 years was paid off in full last May 2021), loans on our two cars, food on the table daily…

Our God is Faithful. Derek Prince taught me that. That banner, “Our God is Faithful”, still hangs large as ever on the Derek Prince Ministries publications warehouse wall that I put up in 2004.

If you sense the Holy Spirit moving in your spirit, and you too have been longing for something more, as my good friend Morris Ruddick loves to write about, then do something about it. Step out in faith.

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6, NKJV

The time is short. We can’t be fooling around with whether we will obey the Lord or not. This world needs to hear from the Lord in order to walk in His ways. You have been given that opportunity to do so. He is calling you to do so.

Do what He has been calling you to do. It’s time to let go.

Message #82 in this series – in the year of our Lord 05.30.2022 – “It’s Time To Let Go” – Monday, 5:54 am in Charlotte, NC USA

NEWEST BOOK!

ENCOURAGEMENT – FIRST FROM JERUSALEM, ISRAEL, AND THEN FROM CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, USA

In April 2022 my good friend David Peterman of Lancaster, South Carolina, and I took an Ahava Adventure (“love” in Hebrew) back to Jerusalem as soon as the skies and the Land of Israel opened up again. During those 10 days the Lord Yeshua, Jesus Christ, gave me words to share, which I wrote down each day to share with others. These make up the first part of this book.

The next section is comprised of messages inspired by the Holy Spirit from our home in Charlotte, North Carolina, beginning before and after the Israel trip. As the Lord would give me a prophetic word, I would start writing and He would further expand on it. Thus those words are written in the major section of this book.

Everyone needs encouragement. Every day. All the negative news spewed out from social media platforms and airwaves needs to be offset by the good news the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) brings to us. From the time He walked the streets of Jerusalem in the first century, to today in this 21st Century, He shares love from heaven and from this home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Until He returns soon, may these messages uplift your spirit, reveal more of His heart, and sustain you as you walk daily in the direction the Holy Spirit gives with the grace and provision that comes with His presence.

“Fight the good fight” – ‘A Quiet Place of Rest’

“Fight the good fight” – ‘A Quiet Place of Rest’

May 9, 2022 Love For His People ministry in Charlotte, NC USA

“Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called.”1 Timothy 6:12

Historically, when navies were engaged in combat and one of the sides had reached a point of surrender, the common practice was to lower the flag (the ‘colors’) that identified the ship. Lowering the flag was equivalent to conceding defeat. But sometimes the ship’s captain would declare he had no intention of surrendering. In order to formalize commitment in a visible way, he would give the order to “nail the colors to the mast.” In other words, he was taking away all options of the flag being lowered. It was instead to be hammered into the ship’s very structure, impossible to be removed.

The battle would be fought and won, or all on board would die in the attempt.

C.T. Studd, A British missionary in the late 1800s and early 1900s, used this word picture in urging believers to commit themselves unreservedly to the call of Christ, no matter how difficult the work or what obstacles might be encountered: ‘Nail the colors to the mast! That is the right thing to do, and therefore, that is what we must do, and do it now. What colors? The colors of Christ, the work he has given us to do. Christ wants not nibblers of the possible but grabbers of the impossible, by faith in the omnipotence, Fidelity, and wisdom of the Almighty Savior ‘

As believers in Jesus Christ for today, it is time for us to decide. Against all opposition and unpopularity, we must “nail the colors to the mast, and “declaring a loyalty to God and His Word, reaffirming our whole-hearted commitment to live for His glory and fulfilling His calling. No turning back.

‘It’s Murder’: Franklin Graham Opposes Biden’s Use of ‘God’ to Defend Abortion Rights

‘It’s Murder’: Franklin Graham Opposes Biden’s Use of ‘God’ to Defend Abortion Rights

05-05-2022 CBN News Billy Hallowell, Faithwire

President Joe Biden was torched by conservatives and Christians this week when he defended abortion and railed against attempts to thwart it, in part, by noting he is a “child of God.”

The Rev. Franklin Graham was among those who took issue with Biden’s comments, with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association president calling abortion a “sin” and likening it to “murder.”

“Biden said that the right to an abortion comes from being a ‘child of God.’ Mr. President, that is just not true,” Graham tweeted. “Being a child of God does not give you the right to take the lives of the innocent. Abortion is a sin— simply put, it‘s murder.”Related

Biden’s State Department Slips Abortion into Human Rights Report

Biden made his controversial remarks Wednesday while lambasting a draft Supreme Court opinion indicating the justices could overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 case that ushered in nationalized abortion protections.

“As I said when this hit…this is about a lot more than abortion,” the president said. “I hadn’t read the whole opinion at that time.”

Biden then spoke about the origination of rights, stating such liberties don’t come from the government but originate as a result of being a “child of God.” He referred to a past debate with the late Robert Bork, a judge whose nomination to the Supreme Court was rejected, to make his point.

“This reminds me of the debate I had with Robert Bork. Bork believed the only reason you had any inherent rights is because the government gave them to you,” Biden claimed. “I said, ‘I believe I have the rights that I have not because the government gave them to me, which you believe, but because I’m just a child of God, I exist.’”

He then pivoted to decry the notion that there is “no right to privacy” and launched into wild speculation about what could happen next if the Supreme Court does, indeed, overturn Roe.

“What happens if you have [a state change] the law saying that children who are LGBTQ can’t be in classrooms with other children. Is that legit under the way the decision’s written?” Biden asked. “What are the next things that are going to be attacked because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in history, in recent American history.”

Biden’s comments drew rebuke on a variety of fronts. From his insult of former President Donald Trump supporters to his pondering about LGBTQ issues, reactions were swift.

But it was the “child of God” comment that triggered some of the most stunned reactions. Political fundraiser Beth Baumann joined Graham and others in their rebuke, tweeting, “Biden literally just made the case against abortion.”

Her point, of course, is that Biden is using language about human value — the same language pro-lifers use to explain why killing unborn babies — made in God’s image — is immoral.

Others, like Twitter user @Bergfeld24, noted Biden’s oft-times heralded Catholic faith and pondered how it mixed with these comments about abortion.

“Invoking God to justify your reason for supporting abortion seems a little off to me,” @Bergfeld24 wrote. “Especially when Biden claims to be a Catholic and the Catholic faith believes life begins at conception.”

As Faithwire previously reported, Biden drew similar ire of conservatives and Christians last month, when he said transgender people are “made in the image of God” and proclaimed one of the best ways parents can keep transgender children “safe and healthy” is to affirm their “child’s identity.”

“To parents of transgender children, affirming your child’s identity is one of the most powerful things you can do to keep them safe and healthy,” Biden said in an official White House video.
