The Lord guided them alone - Deut. 32:12 ISRAEL365

As an eagle awakens its nest, hovering over its fledglings, it spreads its wings, taking them and carrying them on its pinions.  [So] the Lord guided them alone.

Today's Israel Inspiration

The Bible tells us that a certain bird called a chassidah (a stork) is not kosher, and commentators intuit the reason: it is cruel to birds of other species. Yet if we look more closely, the bird's name "chassidah" comes from the Hebrew word "chessed" which means kindess! This bird does indeed display kindness toward its own species by sharing food with them. But the Bible wants us to learn that the kosher form of chessed is to bestow kindness equally on all people, regardless of how similar they are to us. Israel's national blood bank saves the lives of Jews, Christians and Arabs throughout Israel, without regard to race or religion.

Yesterday's Photo Trivia

Yesterday's photo showed the Rosh Hanikra caves. Located in the northwest corner of Israel, Rosh Hanikra has sat on the trade route between Syria to the north and Egypt to the south since ancient times. The beautiful caves are accessible for visitors by the steepest cable car in the world (60 degrees) where you can see for yourself why Rosh Hanikra calls itself, the “love story between the sea and the mountain.”

Kent Simpson: Your Purpose, The Process, His Promise

Kent Simpson:
The Elijah List

Kent SimpsonYour Purpose and New Identity

When our Father's abiding Word is working within you, you have found your purpose for your life, and this purpose becomes your identity. Too many Believers today do not know where they fit in the Kingdom of God. One of the very first acts of every Christian should be to find out what God's purpose for them is in this life. Before we can begin to please God with our works we must first find out what His purpose is for us.

If we are not of this world then we should not be so concerned about where we fit in it. This short time we have on earth is a time of testing to see if we are loyal subjects who will serve our Father or serve the ruler of this world, the prince of darkness (see Ephesians 2:2). This life is training us to be prepared to endure the lengthy boot camp God has called us into.

Our Father has a three-part purpose for giving each and every one of us a prophetic word. It gives us direction on what we are called to do for His people. The word gives purpose by revealing to us how we are to go about fulfilling the work He has placed before us. He has a purpose for imparting into us a spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit so that we will be equipped to demonstrate His power, letting all know that we are His anointed ones for the job He has purposed us to do.

When most of us begin to think about what we could possibly do for the Kingdom of God we are limited in our thoughts to just a few duties found within the local congregation. You might consider being a pastor, a or praise and worship leader, a sound and technical person, a Sunday school teacher or one of the other smaller positions.
We cannot limit God and keep Him locked in the box of the Church's making. Our Father is much more radical than what most people may think, so do not be surprised if His word to you sounds a bit unacceptable to the religious mindset today.

(Photo via enwikipedia)

One of the most quoted verses of Scripture that most of us have either heard or have been falsely corrected by is found in Romans 8:28, "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

If you read this verse a couple of times you might see that there is a condition within this verse that is very important. It seems that every time things do not work out for one of our brothers or sisters we quote this verse as to say, "It's okay. You love God, however, you are going to make mistakes or bad things are going to happen to you that's just the way it is."

Well, I have found that the part that makes all the difference is found in the last few words of this verse, "...called according to His purpose." Now if you read this verse as it is written, then you will see that it is saying that: if you are in God's purpose and do all things according to His word (your calling, commission and gifting) good things will come to you and the evil one cannot touch you.

Most people think that if they are doing good things for people then they are fulfilling God's purpose, but that is simply not so. I counsel people almost every day. Many of them are doing good things in the sight of the religious bunch to impress one another and hopefully God too. But their good deeds can be dead works in the eyes of God leaving them an open target for satan to mess up their lives.

Now, if they are doing what our Father has commissioned them to do then the devil cannot touch them, "...he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him" (1 John 5:18b). Or do you believe that God has no power over the devil? Let's get real here. God created ALL things and this includes satan who has a purpose, too; remember that "he comes to steal, kill and destroy" (John 10:10).

What is your purpose and what are you called, commissioned and equipped to do for our Master and Lord Jesus Christ and His Church?

The Process, Baptism of Fire

There is a process that everyone must go through before they can receive their promise. No one likes the process and some fail the test by doubting God and His word. That is why the verse says, "For many are called, but few are chosen" (Matthew 22:14). Not everyone is able to hold on to His word through all the obstacle courses this boot camp has laid out to test their faith. To be in God's Army you have to be fit to endure it all until you finally come to the place where all the pain and suffering just does not matter anymore.

Many make grand commitments to the Holy Spirit while standing in the midst of His Shekinah glory. It is easy to serve God when you feel as though Jesus has His hand on your shoulder.

(Photo by Jennifer Page In His Presence via elijahshopper.com)

The real test comes when you are standing alone toe-to-toe with the devil and he is doing his best to get you to believe satan rather than God and beating you down with doubt and disbelief.

Remember these words when you are being tested in this manner: "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (John 4:4). Don't doubt in darkness what you have committed to in the light. "Who among you fears the Lord? Who obeys the voice of His Servant? Who walks in darkness and has no light? Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely upon his God" (Isaiah 50:10).

Everything will be all right, for when you have passed through the process you will reap what has been promised to you.

"He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire." Matthew 3:11b

Before David was placed upon the throne, he received a word from Prophet Samuel that he would, in fact, someday become the king (ref. 1 Samuel 16:1-13). Twenty years later that word came to pass because David kept that word in his fore thoughts; and every time he was challenged by whatever obstacles were thrown into his path he was reminded of his purpose.

During the process, David's prophetic word was put to the test. He was challenged many times when he faced the lion in the woods. David could have died. His prophecy would not have come to pass except he was reminded of God's word and promise. He could not die. He had power over the lion, because his word had not yet come to pass.

When David faced the bear, it was the same situation, but this time his faith was stronger because he survived the lion. When David took the five small stones to challenge the giant it was nothing, because his faith had already grown to the point where he knew the giant could not touch him. David was believing in the word of God and fulfilling the purpose in his life.

Accountability for Leadership

"My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment." James 3:1

There is greater accountability for those who are in leadership, because they are accountable to God Almighty for what they tell others to do. They are accountable for your soul. This is not a picnic or a party. The Church is not another club to join. It is becoming an entity issuing fatigues and bars and stripes. It is calling out those who will fight in this spiritual war.

Remember, what you do in this life will determine your rank and position for eternity. How you lead others in this life will determine where you are placed in His chain of command. Don't let the devil give you an image of Heaven with you wearing a white gown sitting on a cloud strumming a harp. That is not the Kingdom of Heaven!

Those who have gone to the other side, those who died and returned, have said it is just like earth but much, much better. Sometimes we take this life far too seriously. In all reality we are too comfortable. When we begin to worship this life greater than the one to come, then our life becomes difficult to find peace or hear the Prince of Peace.

When you are called out by God and His word abides in you, you have chosen to come in agreement with His word. You have saluted and marched toward the call of God, and you cannot afford to look back. A person is not fit for the Kingdom of God if they put their hands to the plow and then look back.

"But Jesus said to him, 'No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.'" Luke 9:62

Don't look to the past and lament about how things used to be. We do not serve a God of the past. He is a God of today. He is not a God who died, gave us a book, and put us in charge. God is ruling and reigning from Heaven now.

(Photo via wikimedia)

Every situation and every occurrence in your life has a meaning from Heaven above. In everything that happens in your life, there is a cause and effect. When unexpected things happen to you and you do not know why, you need to seek God and find out. You have a right to know and you can find out because Jesus is alive and speaking to everyone who will follow the sound of His voice.

His Promises Will Come to Pass IF...

The promises of God are very personal and are directly connected to you doing whatever He asks you to do. The more you do for Him the more He will do for you. It is like any relationship: you must be willing to give of yourself even at the most difficult of times. The devil will try and make you believe God just wants to take your life and make you a slave. Not so.

In fact, you will find that after you have served Him awhile and proved to Him you are loyal to do whatever He asks of you, He will trust you with more and more of His power, people and resources. It is a great thing when you have finally come to the place where God starts calling you His friend.

To be a friend of God is to operate in a higher covenant with Him, and you find yourself in a relationship that is full of His promises.

Over the years, I have witnessed people trying all kinds of weird methods in an attempt to force the promises written in the Bible to come to pass for their needs. I have heard many preachers saying that we can have whatever we ask just by claiming it in the name of Jesus. The Bible is not like Aladdin's lamp. We cannot just rub it three times chanting a few verses and receive whatever you are wishing for.

To have a true friend takes a lot of effort and years of bonding. With each battle you find yourself in; you know your Friend is always right behind you backing you up. You have to want to go the distance with Jesus in order to build this type of relationship. He desires us all to be His friend; that is what He created us for. Begin building your relationship with Jesus today by asking what you can do for Him; rather than telling Him what YOU want. This is the KEY that unlocks the door to the abundant life He promised you and me.

"Then He said to them, 'Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use, it will be measured to you; and to you who hear, more will be given.'" Mark 4:24

Global Attacks on Jews Rise in Wake of Gaza Op - CBN News

Global Attacks on Jews Rise in Wake of Gaza Op

JERUSALEM, Israel -- Incidents of hatred against Jews have jumped "dramatically" since Israel's Operation Protective Shield military campaign in the Gaza Strip, according to a new report by the Anti-Defamation League.

The ADL found serious violent incidents against Jews and Jewish buildings in western Europe, South America, Canada, Australia and Africa. The report was confined to countries outside the United States.

"From France to Argentina, from Canada to Chile, synagogues were attacked, Jewish cultural centers were vandalized, Jewish shops were threatened and identifiably Jewish individuals beaten on the street. Anti-Semitism was in the air and in the streets," said ADL U.S. National Director Abraham Foxman.

One of the most frightening incidents occurred last week in Australia, where anti-Semitic teenagers boarded a Sydney school bus carrying Jewish children from ages 5 through 12. One parent reported the teens were threatening to slit the childrens' throats as they chanted "Palestine...must kill the Jews!"

After they were allowed to board the school bus, the teens were later released the same day by Australian police.

According to Jerusalem Post columnist Caroline Glick, the incident "revealed an obscene comfort level among Australian authorities with the terrorization of Jewish children. Jewish families cannot assume that their children will be protected by non-Jews, whether they are school bus drivers or the police."

Other incidents described in the ADL report include the following:
  • Shouts of "Jews to the gas!" at a July anti-Israel rally in Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
  • An anti-Semitic commentary in the Spanish newspaper El Mundo, in which a columnist stated that the Gaza operation showed why Jews "have been so frequently expelled." "What is surprising," he wrote, "is that they persist. Either they are not good or someone is poisoning them."
  • An op-ed in the widely circulated Colombian weekly magazineSemona, arguing that Palestinian land has been occupied "since 3,000 years ago, when Jews arrived there escaping from Egypt with Moses and Joshua, cutting heads and foreskins off local inhabitants."
"And the list goes on and on," Foxman said.
The ADL report comes shortly after the release of a survey showing that 25 percent of people polled in 100 countries hold deep-seated anti-Semitic attitudes.
Meanwhile, noted human rights activist and chairman of the Jewish Agency, Natan Sharansky, predicts the end of Jewish history in Europe.
In an article for The Jewish Chronicle, the U.K.'s oldest Jewish newspaper, Sharansky writes, "Europe is abandoning its basic values of respecting identities, while at the same time guaranteeing full freedom for its citizens."
Sharansky maintains that Europe's pursuit of multi-culturalism and moral relativism will force Jews -- who hold a strong sense of identity and freedom -- either to assimilate into the culture or leave.

Opinion: Israel's God Won't Abandon the Jews - CBN News

Opinion: Israel's God Won't Abandon the Jews

AP file photo
JERUSALEM, Israel -- If the U.S. administration's decision to impose an arms embargo on Israel, reported in Thursday's Wall Street Journal, proves to be true, it would just be the latest in a long list of injustices that started within months of President Barack Obama's first term in office.
Though Israel and the U.S. both made light of the report, denying there'd been any substantive changes, a look back at Obama's track record tells a different story.
After giving a jump start to issues close to his heart, such as the pro-choice and gay rights movements, Obama began making amends on America's behalf to the Muslim world.
He traveled to several Muslim majority countries and gave his famous "New Beginning" speech from Cairo University on June 4, 2009, promising to make up for his predecessor George W. Bush,  whom he said  "severely damaged" America's relationship to the Muslim world. Less than two years later, Obama would abandon long-time U.S. ally, former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood.
For whatever reason, perhaps not to offend the Muslim world, Obama excluded Israel from his itinerary, though the Israeli-Palestinian conflict reportedly topped the agenda during meetings with Turkish, Saudi Arabian, Jordanian and Egyptian heads of states.
Obama reiterated his support for the Arab League's 2002 peace initiative, calling for an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 armistice lines, with Jerusalem as its capital.
At the same time, the president's lack of support, sometimes bordering on distain, for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu became increasingly apparent.
Most Israelis remember Obama's decision to publically shun Netanyahu during one visit to the White House. There was also his conversation, inadvertently overheard on microphones that had not been switched off, with former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
In March 2013 during his second term, Obama paid his first state visit to Israel. Netanyahu, joined by senior Israeli officials, warmly welcomed him upon arrival at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport. The two leaders embraced one another like long-lost friends.
The Jerusalem Post banner headline read, "In J'lem, Obama asserts Israel's right to defend itself," subtitled with "Leaders meet for 5 hours, decide to begin consultations on a new military aid package."
The paper's political correspondent, Herb Keinon, titled his front-page analysis, "Finally showing the love," a sentiment embraced by many Israelis at the time.
Today, you would be hard put to find too many in Israel who believe the Obama administration "has Israel's back."
As Israel continues to battle worldwide condemnation of its military efforts to stop Palestinian rocket barrages and expose the Islamists' anti-Israel rhetoric, this latest change in U.S. policy is all the more difficult.
While it's hard to imagine what will happen next, many Israelis know God has never and will never abandon them. It seems we're coming closer to the day when all the nations of the world will turn against the Jewish homeland. When that happens, God Himself will defend Israel.
"In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them. It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem." (Zechariah 12:8-9)

Navy Brings Bibles Back; Removal Order Under Review

Navy Brings Bibles Back; Removal Order Under Review

The U.S. Navy ordered on Thursday that Gideon Bibles, which were recently removed from Naval lodges, be returned to their rooms on the military bases.

The Navy said the decision to remove the Bibles was made without consulting senior leadership.

Their removal was reportedly part of a new policy from Rear Adm. Robert J. Bianchi, the CEO of NEXCOM, the Navy Exchange Service Command.

The Navy Exchange sent an order in June to the lodge managers stating that all the religious materials in the rooms should be removed using the lost-and-found property procedures.

The policy affects 34 Navy lodge locations and 24,000 Navy gateway guest rooms on Navy bases worldwide.

The American Family Association said the move came after a letter from the atheist Freedom from Religion Foundation.

The AFA cites a letter from a hotel housekeeper who said, "They told us to put them in boxes, where they would be taken to a donation center somewhere."

Ron Crews, director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, called on the Navy to reverse its "censorship."

"A Bible in a hotel room is no more illegal than a chaplain in the military," Crews stated. "It's tiresome to see senior military leaders needlessly cave in to activist groups offended by anything Christian."

AFA President Tim Wildmon said this incident highlights another religious freedom issue. He thinks the Navy is discouraging Christianity while defending Islam.

"The Navy is pushing for the mass removal of Bibles in hotel rooms across the country, yet U.S. soldiers are being encouraged to respect Muslims," he said.

Earlier this summer, soldiers were told to respect the rights of Muslims during Ramadan through a directive at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, a Department of Defense medical and graduate school in Bethesda, Maryland.

"Where is the priority here in a country founded on religious freedom? Take Bibles out of hotel rooms but support an Islamic observance. This is a truest definition of a double standard," Wildmon said.

Lance Wallnau: I Saw A Supernatural Train - His Train of Glory Sending Messengers

Lance Wallnau:
The Elijah List

Your Inner Circle

I saw a supernatural train. It seemed as if this train is about to depart from the station. It ran on two tracks but I did not know what they were. I did know that the tracks provided right alignment for the train.

Steam was coming forth as if it was getting ready to move. I felt urgency but I sensed no fear of missing it. I then saw that the train is a custom train for each person this applies to. The next part of the vision intensified.

I heard: "You must gather your inner circle." You need to get some other people onto your train. You have an inner circle. It is important to realize who makes up the circle of your life in the next season. Who is in your inner circle?

God has given you divine appointments to meet with many people in the last few years. Some of those relationships are meant to be with you in a special way in the future. It's a mutual dependence.

You need them and they need you – if you are to get where both of you are called to go.
Friends of GodI saw that the way to make sure they are with you is this – be generous in your gratitude toward them and honor them in the way you treat them.

Some people lose cargo, gifts and timing because of being on the wrong track. Others lose as much being on the right track but with the wrong people.

This is the time... right before the whistle blows, to make contact with those you want in your future and share with them your appreciation for who they are. (Photo via wikipedia)

The Train of His Temple

As I thought of the word "TRAIN" this verse from Isaiah kept hitting me. I think it adds something to the vision of the TRAIN OF GLORY I saw.
In the year of the death of king Uzziah the prophet Isaiah said, "I see the Lord, sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and His train is filling the temple." Isaiah 6:1

The "train" in this verse refers to the robe of the king. The word could also be used of the extended garment of the high priest or the long garment trailing behind a bride. It is said that in ancient worlds the length of the Kings robe corresponded to the authority of the king.

ElijahList Prophetic Resources

This robe FILLED the entire temple. It was a train made of glory. You are to be FILLED with the Spirit of God in this season. This filling will take you into the realm of visions, seeing and glory.

Angels are at the throne in Isaiah's vision and they cry out "Holy holy holy." Seraphim are burning and bright angels of a special order burn in their adoration of God. In this atmosphere Isaiah is conscious of his need for cleansing. His lips are therefore purged by a hot coal by an angel"

"Then I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, 'Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?' Then I said, "Here am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8

God is putting people on the Train of Glory in order to send messengers into the next season with His utterance on their lips.

Summary:

Though it is a season when some things are ending (the year King Uzziah died):

1. God is opening the THRONE ROOM in a unique way. In one sense it is always open... but in another, only God can cause supernatural vision and visitation like Isaiah experienced. Expect visionary encounters.

free photo flickr2. Angels are active in this transact. Be like the Seraphim... one with a burning heart.

3. We shall have a due sense of HUMILITY and need for greater CLEANSING and divine assistance as we encounter Him.

4. He is touching OUR MOUTHS because He is sending forth new messages to be heralded to the earth. "Who will go for Us?" He asks.

Expect greater clarity in your assignment. You will need your team – your inner circle. Contact them.

Israel's History - a Picture a Day - The Ottoman Imperial Archives

Israel's History - a Picture a Day (Beta)

Posted: 15 Aug 2014
In recent weeks, the Ottoman Imperial Archives put digital photographs, illustrations and documents online, posting them as well to Flickr and Facebook.  As we explore the archives, we are finding many pictures of life in Palestine in the 19th century and of Turkish forces in Palestine in World War I. We present a preview below.

Caption reads: Reservists and recruits rounded up in Palestine by the Turks being marched unwillingly to barracks. Right: Troops of the Turkish Regular Army marching newly-raised levies through Jerusalem to
a camp in readiness for their projected attack on Egypt.

These pictures and English caption appear in the Ottoman Imperial Archives. They show the forced conscription of residents of Palestine, including Jews, prior to the Turkish attack on the British controlled Suez Canal in 1914.  The picture on the right shows the confiscation of supplies and food stuffs from Jerusalem residents.

According to the report "Palestine during the War, 1914-1917" by the London Zionist Organisation, life for the Jews of Palestine was difficult and perilous:

Jews and Christians ...were for the most part not placed on active  [army] service but assigned to various labor battalions. The members of these battalions were the pariahs of the army; their clothing, feeding, and general equipment was abominable, and they were treated worse than slaves. The Jew would sell his last stick in order to scrape together enough money to ransom him from the slavery of this battalion. But there were still many who could not raise sufficient, and who had to serve in the labor battalions; and these had to leave their families behind entirely unprovided for.

A large part of the Jews in the workers' battalions never returned. They fell victims to epidemics and starvation. A large part of the families of these soldiers also perished from poverty and sickness.

"Ottoman army, preparatory to the attack on the Suez Canal, 1914," is the caption in the Ottoman
Imperial Archives. The handwritten caption above appears in an album in the Library of Congress

Pictured below are the Varhaftig/Amitay family from Tiberias with their son in a Turkish uniform and Jerusalem resident Mendel Kremer in uniform.

Several of the photos of the Turkish
army in World War I also appear in the Library of Congress' American Colony/Matson Collection and have been featured here in the past.

In the Jaffa Gate photograph, note the Jewish  residents of Jerusalem in their black caftans and hats to the right of the troops.

The clock tower was built in 1908 in honor of the Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II.  After the British captured the city in 1917 the ornate tower was torn down.

Bill Yount - The Statue of Liberty Changing Her Apparel

Posted: 16 Aug 2014
The Statue of Liberty Changing Her Apparel

I saw the abbreviation of the state of New York --N.Y. lighting up standing for "NOW YESHUA". It was as though Yeshua was coming 3-D Technicolor to New York City! I saw in the Spirit a huge tallit (prayer shawl) coming down over the shoulders of the Statue of Liberty. The Lord says, "the prayer shawl over her shoulders represents the intercession for America and Israel. I then saw the hand of God replacing the torch with a shofar!

The Lord says, "the Spirit of Liberty that seems dead within this woman is being resurrected and up out of her inner most being will come forth the breath of God and this lady will blow the shofar and the blast of Liberty will be sounded and heard in the land bringing a release to America and touching Israel at the same time!" It's not over. A powerful remnant is rising!
