Now That Facebook, YouTube And Apple Have Come For Alex Jones, Guess Who They Are Coming For Next? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 Michael Snyder August 6th was one of darkest days in the history of the Internet.  When I learned that Facebook, YouTube, Apple, Spotify, Pinterest and others had colluded to take down content from Alex Jones all on the same day, I knew exactly what was happening.  They timed their attack so that it would hit the press at the beginning of the weekly news cycle on Monday so that their purge would have maximum societal impact.  And the fact that there was such overt collusion was obviously meant to send a message.  We were supposed to understand that if they can do this to Alex Jones, they can do it to any of us, and so we better shut up and fall in line.  I can’t even begin to tell you how sick I feel right now.  The big tech giants have made it abundantly clear how they feel about all of us, and there is no future for alternative points of view on any of their platforms. The current purge of conservative voices has been going on for months, but this is the biggest bombshell by far.  The following excerpt from a Los Angeles Times article is a typical example of how the mainstream media covered this story… Major technology companies including Apple, Facebook and YouTube deleted years of content from conservative conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and his Infowars platforms over allegations of hate speech, a sudden clampdown that is fueling the growing debate over how big technology companies choose to censor. The move was unusual for its sweep and speed, suggesting a new assertiveness by technology companies that in the past have worked to avoid alienating conservatives, who often assert that left-leaning Silicon Valley is biased against them. The removals appeared to be prompted by more users flagging Infowars content for policy violations. In addition to the “big three”, Spotify and Pinterest pulled down content from Infowars as well, and there is no way that this could have been done simultaneously unless it was planned well in advance.  Lawyers have to be consulted, CEOs have to give their approval, etc.  This was a cold-blooded move that was carefully calculated down to the finest details. So is there anything that conservatives can do? Well, Mike Adams has suggested that these tech companies could be prosecuted for conspiracy… This coordinated, illegal censorship is clear proof of an organized criminal racket being conducted by the tech giants. The RICO Act allows for federal prosecution of such criminal conspiracy. The internet Dark Ages has now descended upon us, where radical left-wing tech giants run by deranged, mentally ill communists will decide whether your content qualifies as “hate speech.” What is hate speech? It’s anything uttered by a conservative. I think that he is theoretically correct, but I doubt that it will ever actually happen. Right now, the global elite do not have control of the White House, but they have discovered a powerful new weapon in the tech companies.  They are trying to use this new weapon to smash Alex Jones and other top conservative voices, and they are doing it with a tyrannical flair that is absolutely frightening.  I think that it was quite appropriate that the official WikiLeaks Twitter account made a parallel between this purge and an old Star Wars movie… The empire strikes back: Apple, Spotify, Facebook and Google/Youtube all purge Infowars/Alex Jones. Yes, Infowars has frequent nonsense, but also a state power critique. Which publisher in the world with millions of subscribers is next to be wiped out for cultural transgression? And it is quite noteworthy that this comes almost exactly three months before the mid-term elections. Do you think that is just a coincidence? After all of the uproar about “election interference”, now the big tech companies are overtly doing it very publicly and in a way that nobody can misunderstand. The biggest reason why they are lashing out at Alex Jones, Mike Adams and a whole host of other top conservative voices is because Donald Trump never would have gotten elected without them.  I guess they figure that if they can start silencing some of those voices that they can turn future elections in their favor. This Might Be the Single Greatest Threat to the Devil—And It's Often Overlooked

If you had bought $100 in bitcoin in 2010 and didn't sell, it would now be worth almost $73 million. That is an incredible return.

Last year on November 29, 2016, the price of one Bitcoin closed out at $732.62. That means in the past year, it really grew.

We are living in a time where there is great opportunity to invest in a lot of different things. With great opportunity, there is great risk involved as well.

Bitcoin was arguably one of the best financial investments of the past 5 years, just as Apple was a great financial investment over the past decade.

Though these were good financial investments for many, there is a much better investment that a person can make. That is investment in the kingdom of God. God wants us to invest our time and energy in serving Him and promoting His kingdom. It has infinitely more benefit and returns than the best investments on this earth.

One of the biggest blessings when investing into the kingdom of God is that there is no risk of loss. Even if you invest the slightest amount of your life in God, it is never for a loss. If you invest in a person by sharing the Gospel with them and taking the time to disciple them, you will never be at a loss.

In the world we live in, there are many things vying for our resources, time and energy. The believer faces a unique financial temptation. There are many things promising that if we invest in them. we will have what we need to be free to better serve the Lord. It doesn't work that way. It is a big temptation.

The Bible is clear. It says in Matt. 6:33 "but seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be given to you." The devil and the world system want it to be the other way around for the believer. "Seek first your financial stability and future security and the kingdom of God and His righteousness will be added to you."

In light of all of the buzz around bitcoin, and even the recent soaring stock prices, many Christians have become very interested and pulled towards a mentality that posits "I have to have financial security to serve the Lord." Increasingly, I have seen Christians putting greater emphasis on investing in some of these new investment opportunities as a good way to make money, and with money, financial freedom to better serve the Lord. The idea is "You need money if you are going to do anything great for God."

I recently saw a video with one of the wealthiest ministers in the world sharing about this. He said:

"In Satan's eyes, there is nothing more dangerous than a preacher who has got enough money in his bank account to do what God has called him to do."

That is not true. It is just plain false. Elijah did not have money in the bank, and yet he called down fire on the Baal prophets and led Israel to repent. Jeremiah, had no money in the bank, and yet he served the Lord faithfully as the only true prophetic voice in Judah during a season of great wickedness and deception. John the Baptist really had no money, and yet he prepared the way for the Lord and is considered the greatest prophet of all time before Christ. The disciples were not rich, and yet they were able to heal the sick, cast out demons, and advance the Kingdom of God. The Bible is full of countless examples.

We must not forget what the Apostle Paul said in 1 Cor. 1:26-29

 For observe your calling, brothers. Among you, not many wise men according to the flesh, not many mighty men, and not many noble men were called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. God has chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty. And God has chosen the base things of the world and things which are despised. Yes, and He chose things which did not exist to bring to nothing things that do, so that no flesh should boast in His presence.

The greatest threat to the devil is not a Christian with money, it's a Christian with the fullness of the Holy Spirit. That is what will change the world. That is what will open the door for greater ministry. The reason the apostles could be "the men who have turned the world upside down" (Acts 17:6) was because they had an encounter with the living God on the Day of Pentecost that so transformed them, and so filled them, that regardless of their lack of finances, they were able to operate in the power of God. God doesn't rely on physical resources to accomplish His purposes.

This observation is not coming from someone who is detached from dealing with finances and ministry. I do full-time ministry, and I often feel like I wish a had a lot more money to do what I feel God is calling me to do. So, I understand the temptation of feeling like more finances are necessary to better serve the Lord; nevertheless, it is a temptation. I understand the feeling that comes from seeing a lot of money used inappropriately on ministry initiatives, agendas and items that don't help to transform communities and the culture with the gospel.

There have been times where I wished my ministry had the amount of money that I saw being used inappropriately elsewhere. I have thoughts things like "If only I had that much then...." However, I am growing to see that what Paul said in Philippians 4:11-13 about contentment in all things is a necessary attitude that God wants me to embrace in my life. It is wrong to think "If only I had that much money then....." Jesus' ministry was nothing like that. I am learning that the key to success is to be "full of the Holy Spirit." The Holy Spirit changes things. Many ministries have millions of dollars, and yet they are not changing the world for Christ.

Phil 4:13 says "I can do all things because of Christ who strengthens me." Christ, not finances, is the believer's strength. It is the power of God that brings the change, not money. We need the power of God. We don't need physical riches. We need spiritual riches. We need to be rich in faith, rich in truth, and rich in love.

Invest in God, invest in His kingdom.

Empires have risen, and empires have fallen. Stocks have soared and stocks have dived. People have gained wealth only to go on to lose it.

Bitcoin will one day bottom out and leave everyone who invested lacking and regretful. The dollar will one day bottom out. Everything in this world that seems to offer security, offers no true security. Invest in Jesus. Invest in His kingdom. Invest in love and truth. When this world fades away, when everything else fails, Jesus Christ and His Kingdom will not fail. His kingdom is an eternal kingdom that cannot be shaken. Investing in the kingdom of God is the only investment with a sure return, and it is the only investment with eternal benefits.

For too long I have watched Christians follow the patterns of the secular world when it comes to doing a basic thing, like making money. It seems they get the big ideas – “Let’s make a real smartphone and call it, well, the “iPhone” (after all, our company name is "Apple"), or “We need a new search engine name. How about something crazy like “Google”? (See below, way below, for how the name actually came forth. But only after you read my article first!)

The world comes up with a slogan like, “Coke is the real thing.” So next thing we know the Christians are marketing items with, “Jesus is the real thing.” 

Or wearing a t-shirt with Jesus in sunglasses, quoting the movie, "I'll be back.". Is "The Terminator" (Arnold Schwarzenegger) now the one Jesus is to model after? It should be the other way around.

Don’t we have it backward? Aren’t we called to be the leaders, the innovators, the ones with the answers?

Take the Hollywood movie producers who create the big-time blockbuster, and soon after the faith community attempts to produce something in the same genre, and it flops. (But we are getting better! There have been some really good faith-based movies in the last five years.)

I had a young man call me once at my Christian ministry administrative office years back, all excited about coming up with a car flag to hang out the window with a Bible or catchy saying on it. He had seen the sports flags being hung from car windows, every Saturday and Sunday in his town. He said we needed to do the same.

As he spoke on the phone, I was silently thinking to myself, “Is this how we do it? We copy what the world system puts out, only with a “Christian” flavor to it?”

Why is this so? As followers of the Creator Himself, we should be the ones who receive the brilliant ideas, the inventive solutions, the strategies of the Lord. We have the heavenly connection, through the Holy Spirit, to know the thoughts and plans of the Lord. He is the brilliant One! Just look at the human body, the vast solar system, the depths of the massive oceans. What an Awesome God He is!

If you have been paying attention you will know where much of the new technology is now coming from. The Jews in Israel! Warren Buffet sure is investing there.

We are the ones who need to listen to what He is saying, as He desires to give us the strategies and the means to produce wealth and bring solutions to all kinds of problems, which in turn will serve our fellow man.

When I asked the Lord this Monday as to what I should be reading in His Word, He clearly said, “Jacob.” That was not what I was expecting, but I went to the book of Genesis and have been reading about Jacob. Fascinating.

In just a quick overview, Jacob had served his father-in-law Laban for over 14 years, in order to have his daughter Rachel as his wife. (If you recall, Laban had instead given Jacob his eldest Leah on his wedding night, being the deceiver that Laban was. And we thought Jacob was the deceiver?) Many years later, when Jacob was finally fed up with it all, and ready to move on from under this unrighteousness, the Lord gave him the means to do it.

“Then Jacob took fresh rods of poplar and almond and plane trees, and peeled white stripes in them, exposing the white which was in the rods. He set the rods which he had peeled in front of the flocks in the gutters, even in the watering troughs, where the flocks came to drink; and they mated when they came to drink.

So the flocks mated by the rods, and the flocks brought forth striped, speckled, and spotted. Jacob separated the lambs, and made the flocks face toward the striped and all the black in the flock of Laban; and he put his own herds apart, and did not put them with Laban's flock.

Moreover, whenever the stronger of the flock were mating, Jacob would place the rods in the sight of the flock in the gutters, so that they might mate by the rods; but when the flock was feeble, he did not put them in; so the feebler were Laban's and the stronger Jacob's. So the man became exceedingly prosperous, and had large flocks and female and male servants and camels and donkeys.” (Genesis 30:37-43, NASU)

Now that is a strategy that you just can’t make up on your own. God did it for him.

I struggle in my faith often, trying to come up with ways to fund the ministry the Lord has called my wife and I to do. There are several projects we are aiming to meet needs with His provision.

Our heart is to have the means for international pastors and young people to make a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Israel, to stand where Jesus (Yeshua) stood. We have been given the heart by our Lord to provide Bibles for those who don’t have one in foreign countries; another is to make ways to provide for the children of widows who struggle daily with food, clothing, and shelter; also to help support Messianic families in the Holy Land on a regular basis, as they reach out to others around them.

I know the Lord knows the way to get it done. I am pressing into Him to know His strategies. He will show me, and you, the way to go to get it done.

Origin of the name "Google"

From time to time I read or hear stories of the origin of the search engine and company name "Google" that are incorrect, which prompts me to write this brief account, based on my understanding of the genesis of the name. The source of my information is my friends and colleagues from Wing 3B of the Gates Computer Science Building at Stanford University, where Google was born.

In 1996, Larry Page and Sergey Brin called their initial search engine "BackRub," named for its analysis of the web's "back links." Larry's office was in room 360 of the Gates CS Building, which he shared with several other graduate students, including Sean Anderson, Tamara Munzner, and Lucas Pereira. In 1997, Larry and his officemates discussed a number of possible new names for the rapidly improving search technology. Sean recalls the final brainstorming session as occurring one day during September of that year.

Sean and Larry were in their office, using the whiteboard, trying to think up a good name - something that related to the indexing of an immense amount of data. Sean verbally suggested the word "googolplex," and Larry responded verbally with the shortened form, "googol" (both words refer to specific large numbers). Sean was seated at his computer terminal, so he executed a search of the Internet domain name registry database to see if the newly suggested name was still available for registration and use. 

Sean is not an infallible speller, and he made the mistake of searching for the name spelled as "google.com," which he found to be available. Larry liked the name, and within hours he took the step of registering the name "google.com" for himself and Sergey (the domain name registration record dates from September 15, 1997).

Economy In Decline: Apple Reports Massive Revenue Decline As iPhone Sales Plummet Dramatically Posted: 26 Apr 2016 Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG Corporate revenues in the United States have been falling for quite some time, but now some of the biggest companies in the entire nation are reporting extremely disappointing results.  On Tuesday, Apple shocked the financial world by reporting that revenue for the first quarter had fallen 7.4 billion dollars compared to the same quarter last year.  That is an astounding plunge, and it represents the very first year-over-year quarterly sales decline that Apple has experienced since 2003.  Analysts were anticipating some sort of drop, but nothing like this.  And of course last week we learned that Google and Microsoft also missed revenue and earnings projections for the first quarter of 2016.  The economic crisis that began during the second half of 2015 is really starting to take hold, and even our largest tech companies are now feeling the pain. This wasn’t supposed to happen to Apple.  No matter what else has been going on with the U.S. economy, Apple has always been unshakeable.  Even during the last recession we never saw a year-over-year decline like this… Apple today announced financial results for the second fiscal quarter (first calendar quarter) of 2016. For the quarter, Apple posted revenue of $50.6 billion and net quarterly profit of $10.5 billion, or $1.90 per diluted share, compared to revenue of $58 billion and net quarterly profit of $13.6 billion, or $2.33 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. As expected, the year-over-year decline in quarterly revenue was the first for Apple since 2003. I think that this announcement by Apple is waking a lot of people up.  The global economic slowdown is real, and we can see this in iPhone sales.  During the first quarter, Apple sold 16 percent fewer iPhones than it did during the same quarter in 2015.  This is the very first year-over-year quarterly sales decline for the iPhone ever.  Here are some of the specific sales figures from the Apple announcement… Apple sold 51.1 million iPhones during the quarter, down from 61.2 million a year earlier, while Mac sales were 4.03 million units, down from from 4.56 million units in the year-ago quarter. iPad sales were also down once again, falling to 10.25 million from 12.6 million. Once these numbers hit the wires, shares of Apple immediately began to plummet during after-hours trading.  In fact, USA Today is reporting that Apple has already lost 43 billion dollars in market value since the annoucement… Shares of Apple are getting hit roughly 8% in after-hours trading, tumbling to $96.67. They closed in regular trading at $104.35, or down 0.7%, putting them down 0.9% for the year. The downward move in after-hours trading means the company shed $43 billion in market value based on after-hours trading. Wow. Meanwhile, shares of Twitter are crashing in after-hours trading after the social media giant also announced very disappointing results.  The stock has now dripped below 16 dollars a share, and the company continues to lose tremendous amounts of money… For all its other travails, Twitter is unprofitable. It narrowed its loss but still recorded a loss of $79.7 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with a loss of $162.4 million, or 25 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter. Of course it isn’t just the tech giants that are troubled these days. On Tuesday we learned that same-store sales for Chipotle declined by a whopping 29.7 percent during the first quarter, and appliance manufacturer Whirlpool has seen sales fall all over the planet… Whirlpool, the world’s biggest appliance manufacturer, has become the poster child for the deep challenges facing multinational companies these days. – Latin American sales plunged 22%. – Revenue fell 8% in Europe, Middle East and Africa. – Asia sales dipped 2%. When is it finally going to sink in for most people?  The global economy is slowing down significantly, and the next global economic crisis is already here. Of course the oil companies are feeling more pain than anyone else.  According to CNN, the crash in the price of oil has cost the 40 largest publicly-traded U.S. oil producers 67 billion dollars… American oil companies are drowning in a sea of red ink. The crash in crude oil prices caused a stunning $67 billion in combined losses by 40 publicly-traded U.S. oil producers last year, accordingEnergy Information Administration research. And the bleeding is expected to continue at least early this year for many. The losses surpassed $1 billion each from struggling oil companies like EOG Resources (EOG), Devon Energy (DVN) and Linn Energy (LINE) as well as SandRidge Energy (SD), the shale oil driller that recently admitted it’s exploring a bankruptcy filing. That is an astounding amount of money. These days we throw around terms like “millions” and “billions” so much that they almost lose their meaning. But this is real money that we are talking about here. In recent days, Barack Obama has been running around boasting that he saved the world economy from another Great Depression.  But that isn’t true at all.  Instead, our “leaders” have simply set the stage for a larger and more painful crisis.  I like the way that Doug Casey recently put it… You’ve got to remember that all of these governments and central banks all around the world have driven interest rates not just to zero, but to negative levels in some cases… and they are simultaneously printing up trillions of currency units. And even while they are desperately doing that the economy is falling apart in lots of different ways. …They’ve created a super-bubble in bonds, a bubble in stocks, and meanwhile commodities have collapsed and are below production costs in many cases. …The economy is going to be very, very bad… It’s the next stage of what I call the Greater Depression.  Whether you want to call it a “Great Depression”, a “Greater Depression” or “The Greatest Depression”, the truth is that we are heading into a period of time that will be unlike anything any of us have ever experienced before. The greatest debt bubble in the history of the planet is starting to implode, and this time the central bankers and the politicians are not going to be able to put the pieces back together again. How to Overcome Anxiety and Depression Naturally This Winter

For many of us, the cooler months are welcome to give us a break from the hot temperatures of the summer. All too often, depression along with anxiety soon reign in on our lives for a variety of reasons.

The days are shorter and the sunlight is lessened which affects the circadian rhythms of the body. More time is spent indoors during this time period of our lives which can also lead to feelings of claustrophobia.

The Creator has provided us with many different fresh foods to help us during this season of change in our lives. He has given us a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables which help the body to naturally ward off depression and feelings of anxiety. Many scientists call these foods the "Good Mood" foods.

The Delicious Apple

Apples are rich in antioxidants helping the body to prevent oxidation and they are even great for preventing inflammation. Eating apples provides fiber to the diet and the fare can also help with balancing blood sugar levels in the body.

Anxiety-Prevention Cinnamon

Cinnamon has been used for centuries to treat ailments and it is one of the most popular spices in the world. It is often used for anxiety prevention and it can help to balance blood sugar levels. Simply adding one teaspoon to the diet provides nearly one-fourth of the day to day needed manganese. One study at the Wheeling Jesuit Univ. found cinnamon to enhance cognitive functions. This was possible by subjects smelling it on a regular basis.

Zinc-Packed Pumpkin Seeds

Pumpkin seeds are great for the body during this time of the year. The seeds are full of zinc which provides one-fourth the daily allowance (in one ounce). Doctor Deans with Psychology Today calls this food item as necessary for resiliency. The seeds help prevent depression within the body as well as fight against inflammations.

Immune-Fighting Squash

Squash is another delicious vegetable which provides wonderful nutrients to the body during the cooler months. Simply adding eight ounces of butternut variety will give the individual close to twenty percent of needed manganese and potassium. In giving the immune system a boost, the food serving provides over fifty percent (50 percent) of vitamin C.

Super Power Sweet Potatoes

Sweet Potatoes are full of vitamin A which is considered one of the super power antioxidants. One serving of this sweet will provide over fifty percent (50 percent) of vitamin C and manganese. Other vitamins and minerals are present within this God given food item that adds to the "needed nutrients" list for this time of year. In addition, one case study found sweet potatoes to hold strong anti-inflammation properties which can prevent disease processes including cardiovascular issues, cancers, neuro diseases, and even diabetes. Brain-Protecting Eggplant

Eggplant is known to help protect the brain by preventing damage through free radicals along with nutrients to guard the fats within the membranes of the brain. Eggplants are wonderfully full of fiber, manganese, and copper. Phytonutrients (nasunin) are also found in this nightshade which provide additional benefits.

Depression-Fighting Turmeric

Turmeric is a "strong agent" found to fight depression. This is evident in medical studies found within the Journal of Affective Disorders (2014). The information points out curcumin is found within this spice and is shown to strongly influence depressive indications in patients followed during studies. The spice also holds abilities to help the immune system as well as fight inflammation.
