Dear friends of Love For His People,

Just over a year ago - Saturday, July 1, 2017 - was a very special day for me.

Seven years ago on June 30, 2010, I had left the third ministry I had worked for in the past 24 years (this one was Vision for Israel with Barry and Batya Segal, after 14 years at Mahesh and Bonnie Chavda Ministries/All Nations Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, and eight years total at Derek Prince Ministries (Ft. Lauderdale and Charlotte), finishing with the last five at VFI. (Some years I split the 40 hour work week between two of them if you are a numbers person counting the years.)

The complete reason in departing my service at VFI was to start a new ministry, co-founded by my good wife Laurie and I. We called it Love For His People (officially formed in April 2010 with our USA non-profit, 501(c)3 approval) - primarily to bless the Jews of Israel, and specifically the believers, those who have come to acknowledge that Yeshua is the Messiah, HaMashiach.

As non-Jews, Gentiles, goyim, Christian Zionists (whatever label we have!), we began the organization/ministry to stand strong for the Jewish state of Israel, Yisrael - the Land of Israel - in this world of nations that continually becomes more anti-Semitic daily. We have been called, as the prophetic word in 2002 was spoken, as a "scepter for Israel."

  

 With both Laurie and I saved and called to be man and woman in the Lord Jesus Christ, our heart's desire is to do our part in speaking up for those who, for centuries, experienced nothing more than "hate" in the "name of Christ", from so-called Christians. That included Adolf Hitler himself, who used Martin Luther's last completely inerrant days, of non-Scriptural theology, to espouse Replacement Theology. This totally wrong belief that the "church" had replaced Israel as the one receiving the promises of the God of Israel. Today, it continues to be totally inaccurate, both historically and spiritually.

Thus, with these seven years now completed since the start of Love For His People (seven being "completion" in the Lord's number listing), it is similar to the seven ones that King Solomon took to complete the first Jewish Temple on the Mount (in Jerusalem, ISRAEL) centuries ago. As it states in the Torah, "he was seven years in building it." (1 Kings 6:38).

As a side note, this fact alone is proof enough that ALL of Jerusalem belongs to the Jews. The Jews had been given, and on many occasions even bought, the land of Israel they have now returned too.

We now begin our 9th year with the ministry of Love For His People, Inc. 

Israel, of course, continues to be the main objective in our support, but we also will be standing with those others who join alongside us in helping Jews make aliyah (return to Israel), speak out for the nation, and appreciate their Jewish roots as believers in Jesus (Yeshua).

We ask you to join us in our continuing efforts.

This ministry, with no staff or paid contractors, sends monthly funds to families in Jerusalem. For some of these, it has been for over seven years now. Consistently. Each month.

Our daily blog Love For His People also features my messages Now Think On This, which then are posted to our Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts. These messages are then printed into books (15 as of this date) on various encouraging and uplifting subjects.

February 1, 2016 Sow in Tears; Reap in Joy Psalm 126:5–6 Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.     NIV        The Bible is so accurate, so faithful to life. It doesn’t give us a rosy, false picture of what life is like. It shows us both the dark and the light, the evil and the good, the hard and the enjoyable, the bitter and the sweet.      And it says that, in effect, if we want to reap we are going to have to sow. That’s a law of life; it’s a law of the universe. It says that sowing will be done with tears, but reaping will come with joy. That’s faith, you see. You’ve got to go out with your seed even in tears, to scatter the seed and be willing to wait, and to wait upon God and let Him bring forth the harvest which He’s promised. But the promise is so beautiful, “He that goes out weeping carrying seed to sow will return with songs of joy carrying sheaves with him.”      Let this be a message to you. If you are feeling discouraged, if you are feeling that somehow things aren’t going the way you want them to, that you are working and seeing so few and such indeterminate results, just be prepared to weep. But go on sowing, because God has promised that if you sow the good seed, even weeping, there’ll come a day when you’ll carry back your arms full of sheaves with songs of joy. Derek Prince - Devotional: A Rushing Torrent - DEREK PRINCE MINISTRIES

 

January 25, 2016 A Rushing Torrent Psalm 126:4 Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the streams in the Negev.     NIV        There’s a prayer from God’s people for restoration. The picture there is very vivid, if you’re familiar with the Negev. The word that’s translated “streams” in Arabic is a wadi. A wadi is something special that’s found mainly in the Middle East. It’s a riverbed, which is dry most of the year. You can see that water has flowed in it, but when rain has not fallen within a few days it dries up and you just have the evidence that water once flowed in it.      And so God’s people there in that prayer view themselves like one of those dry riverbeds in the Negev, the desert of the south of Israel. But their prayer is that God will restore them like the streams in the Negev. Such a vivid picture, because at certain seasons when there’s rainfall in the Negev it comes copiously, abundantly, and in a few hours what was a dry riverbed is transformed into an overflowing, torrential stream that sweeps everything before it, sometimes washing away bridges, even causing serious accidents, washing cars away so that where just a few hours previously there was nothing but dust and dryness, there’s a rushing torrent.      And their inspired prayer is that God would restore His people like that stream in the Negev – that though we’ve been dry and dusty without much evidence of water, suddenly God is going to visit us and send such a visitation of His Spirit that it will be like a rushing torrent that will sweep all obstacles before it.   —Derek Prince To listen to Derek's original audio on our website click here. Our Debt To Israel (Derek Prince) & Why Israel? (Steve Martin) - our gift to you...because we love the people of Israel.

Of all the Christian teachers of the Bible that have impacted us the most in regards to faith, and especially in our support for Israel, it has been Derek Prince (1915-2003). In 1979 Laurie and I heard first Derek at a Christian conference in Mackinac Island in northern Michigan. It was there that we heard this message - our debt to Israel as Christians.

From 1987-1990 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and then again from 2000-2005 in Charlotte, North Carolia, I had the honor of serving on staff with Derek Prince Ministries, as the Director of Finance and Operations. (Thanks David Selby for hiring me twice!) 

The impact of Derek's message, with his love and support for Israel, directly instilled in our hearts the vital truth of Israel, as the Lord specifically brought to us through Scripture.

Derek's small booklet, Our Debt To Israel (which can be read in about 20 minutes), explains in a real, understandable way why Christians have a duty, responsibility, and privilege to support Israel and the Jews today.

Because of what this tremendous spiritual truth has done in our lives, with the Lord Jesus Himself giving us the heart to bless those whom He chose to reveal Himself through, the Jews, we want to share this eternal truth with you.

This little booklet consists of messages previously written in my books, which of themselves contain many various themes. I wanted to devote one book to just Israel and the Jewish people, and so this small booklet was compiled.

As you read the following, consider the truth contained in Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, which spell out the commitment of God the Father to choose a people who will be a light to the nations. He chose the Jews, and gave them the Promised Land of Israel.

It does not matter what other national governments try to say, do, or accomplish apart from the plans and purposes of the Lord. They will fail.

His Word is true. It is eternal. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and thus His commitment in keeping His promises made to the Jewish people will be fulfilled.

Peter Derek Vaughan Prince (14 August 1915, Bangalore – 24 September 2003, Jerusalem) was a Bible teacher whose daily radio programme Derek Prince Legacy Radio broadcasts around the world in various languages.^[1]

Marriage and the growth of his ministry

Prince moved to Faith Tabernacle in Chicago, and then to Good News Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In May 1971 Derek Prince Publications opened offices in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.^[2] Derek Prince Publications became Derek Prince Ministries in December 1990.^[3]

1987 - German missionary to Mongolia heard English broadcast (from Seychelles) and began to translate program into Mongolian.

1989 - DPM-Netherlands office opened,overseeing Eastern Europe and Soviet countries.

The Princes travelled extensively in ministry until Ruth died on 29 December 1998. The following list of countries covers their ministry from 1993 to 1998. Some of these countries were visited more than once: Russia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Hungary, South Africa, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey, Poland, Bahrain, Cuba, Colombia, Switzerland, France, Portugal, India and England.^[4]

Derek Prince Ministries continues to distribute his teachings and to train missionaries, church leaders, and congregations through the outreaches of more than thirty DPM offices around the world, including primary work in Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.^[5]

Teachings[edit]

At the time of Prince's death in September 2003, he was the author of over 50 books, 600 audio and 100 video teachings, many of which have been translated and published in more than 100 languages.^[6] Some of the subjects that are covered in his teachings are prayer and fasting,^[7] foundations of the Christian faith,^[8] spiritual warfare,^[9] God's love^[10]and marriage and family.^[11]

Demons and deliverance[edit]

As a Pentecostal, Prince believed in the reality of spiritual forces operating in the world, and of the power of demons to cause illness and psychological problems. While in Seattle he was asked to perform an exorcism on a woman, and he came to believe that Christians could be possessed by demons.^[12] This was at odds with the more usual Pentecostal view that demons could not possess believers, but only "oppress" them. Prince believed that his deliverance ministry used the power of God to defeat demons.^[13]

Israel[edit]

Prince, who taught on many themes and subjects including the foundational truths of the Bible, was probably most noted for his teachings about demons, deliverance ministry, and Israel.^[14] He strongly opposed replacement theology. His book The Destiny of Israel and the Church argues that the Church has not replaced Israel and that the covenant that God made with the nation of Israel still stands today. Prince also believed that the creation of the state of Israel was the fulfillment of biblical prophecy. Derek states in his book Promised Land, "The central theme of biblical prophecy, as it is being unfolded in our time, revolves around the land and the people of Israel. God is carrying out His predetermined plan to regather the Jewish people from their worldwide dispersion and restore them to their ancient homeland."^[15]

The Shepherding Movement controversy[edit]

In 1968, Prince joined the Holy Spirit Teaching Mission (HSTM), which linked him to three other Charismatic Christian pastors living in Ft. Lauderdale: Don Basham, Bob Mumford, and Charles Simpson.^{[citation needed]} The HSTM had been founded by businessman Eldon Purvis; but after the discovery of Purvis’s homosexuality the leadership team of the HSTM asked Basham, Mumford, Prince, and Simpson to help in managing the crisis.^[16] Prince and the others changed the name of the HSTM to Christian Growth Ministries (CGM) in 1972.^[17] CGM sought to counter what were seen as excesses within the Charismatic Movement by emphasizing discipleship and pastoral care which later on was abused by those in leadership positions. CGM continued with the publication of the New Wine magazine which began under the HSTM in June 1969.^[18] David Moore, author of The Shepherding Movement, states "Essential for an accurate history of the Shepherding Movement is a complete collection of New Wine. The magazine, published from 1969 through 1986, was the principal publishing voice of the five teachers and the movement."^[19] The group was joined by Ern Baxter, and the five men became known as the Fort Lauderdale Five. Their ministry became known as the Shepherding Movement. Different factions of the movement began to emphasise submission and authority.

Prince later left the group and repented in public over being a member.^[20] There are several sermons where Prince commented on the shepherding controversy (sometimes referring to it as "Discipleship Movement").,^[21] even in Ft. Lauderdale years after.^[22]
