From New York to the IDF

Emily Young hails from New York and is one of many lone soldiers serving in the IDF. “A lone soldier has much the same experience as a regular soldier in terms of responsibilities while in the army,” Emily said. But outside the army, the story is completely different.

Lord, Teach Me to Wait - RUTH L. WHITFIELD

Power in prayer

Do you wait on the Lord or do you take matters into your own hands? (Stock Free Images)

One of my favorite Scriptures is Isaiah 40:31: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” (KJV).
Years ago those words were put to music, and I sang them and taught them to my children. The song added the phrase, “Teach me, Lord. Teach me, Lord, to wait.” I loved that passage, and I loved that song. I sang it all the time.
But I didn’t think too much about what I was asking. Did I really want Him to teach me to wait?
I don’t know about you, but I don’t like waiting. It seems like such a waste of time. I could be doing so much with the time I spend waiting! However, our heavenly Father knows there is a value in our learning to wait on Him, so He allows us to be placed in situations where we have no choice but to wait.
I remember the days when we had to wait for dinner to be ready. My mother would start cooking early in the afternoon. She made everything from scratch, and it took time to chop, cook, simmer and serve. She was a fabulous cook, so the end result was fantastic.
We can’t match the result of that effort today. We may try to duplicate it by popping food in the microwave or substituting one ingredient for another. We think we’ll arrive at the same end—but we don’t. Hurrying the process by taking shortcuts just doesn’t produce the same result. Some things just simply take time.
Waiting, however, is never easy. There is such a feeling of helplessness when we are forced into a situation in which we can’t do anything except wait! Back in 2001 our country was thrown into such a situation. People from New York to California watched and waited as the Twin Towers imploded and descended into a heap and the Pentagon burned. We held our breath as people ran for their lives and waited for word of lost loved ones.
We watched in 2005 as Hurricane Katrina devastated the Louisiana and Mississippi coast and thousands waited to hear about their home and family members. We waited with them. More recently, Malaysian Flight 570 disappeared while en route to China. We continued to watch, pray and wait with loved ones and family members of those on board, only to see their hopes dashed to the ground time and time again.
Every day there’s a new turn of events on the news. We don’t know what each day will bring or what we will face when we wake up each morning. At this writing, we await news about those affected from the mudslides in the state of Washington. Many are missing and bodies are still being uncovered. People hope for the best while anticipating the worse. Across the world we watched in horror as a South Korean Ferry boat capsized taking hundreds of young victims into the cold murky waters below. There are few survivors and anguished parents are still waiting for the recovery of their child’s body.
Waiting is painful whether you are sure of the outcome or not. We need someone or something to hold us secure while we wait. That someone is the One by whom all things consist and who holds all things together (see Col. 1:17). He is the One who brings the comfort and strength we need, even in the face of great loss.
We must also remember that we are not waiting simply for an outcome; we are waiting on the Lord. And waiting on Him—no matter how long the process seems to take—will have the best results.
One definition Webster’s gives for “wait” is “look forward expectantly.” Those who wait upon the Lord stay in a place of confident expectation. We may not know what will happen tomorrow, but we know Who holds tomorrow. The promise Isaiah 40:31 gives is that if we depend on the Lord and look forward in hope and expectation, He will renew our strength. We will not fear or lose heart.
The Lord said that in the last days men’s hearts would fail them for fear (see Luke 21:26). Certainly, the events of 9/11 shook the core of our national and personal security. Surely Iran’s radical government poses a current threat to Israel, the U.S. and the European Union. Violence continues to escalate as Russia moves to capture previously lost territory. Some of our troops are still in Afghanistan and we wait for them to come home. Our nation’s choices to accept godless lifestyles as the norm have poised us for judgment. But God has not given us a spirit of fear (see 2 Tim. 1:7).
If you have given in to fear because you don’t know what’s coming, turn away from it and begin to wait—look with expectation—upon the Lord. He can turn things around and work them for good even in the worst situations. He will give you the peace and strength to step boldly into your future with the confidence that He holds the future and His results are best.
Prayer Power for the Week of 4/28/2014
This week, renew your strength by waiting on the Lord and meditating on His goodness. Thank Him that He is all knowing and all-powerful, and we are secure in Him. Thank Him for His faithfulness and ever abiding comfort even during the worst times. Continue to pray for those who have lost loved ones through various tragic events, those struggling with health issues and need of provision, and those who desperately need Christ as their Savior. Pray that God would send more laborers into His harvest field, and tell Him that you are willing to do your part to expand His kingdom. Continue to pray for the persecuted church, the peace of Jerusalem, and our national, spiritual and civic leaders. Isa. 40:31; Col. 1:17; 2 Tim. 1:7.

Giving thanks
to the Lord Jesus (Yeshua)

as we reach 250,000 pageviews
on our
LOVE FOR HIS PEOPLE blog
...on April 12, 2014.

Even as the Lord commanded the Israelites to place stones and altars along the way, as markers on the journey to remember His grace, leading and provision, so do we follow in those footsteps.

Thank you you Lord for this milestone, as we look back to what YOU have done, and look forward to what You will yet do through His Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) working through us.

Trusting as the journey continues...

Where You lead, we will follow.

Where You lead Lord, we will follow.
What better path is there for us?

His refreshing water will be provided.

Adventures in the new assignment.

Follow the path set before you.

Walk on the path the Lord sets before you. As you go in obedience, it will open new adventures and provision in His plans and purposes for you and those who are to come also. It may look uncertain at first, but as in all new assignments, they are just that way. Have faith in God.

His Holy Spirit is with us always, to guide and direct our steps. Provision, encouraging faith, signs and understanding will be ours as we go forward.

We will do Your will O Lord.

The Process of Development by Elaine Tavolacci - Identity Network

The Process of Development

by Elaine Tavolacci

Identity Network

Several years ago a photograph had to go through a process to be developed. The photograph which was taken with a camera, had to be developed out of a negative and went through several steps before becoming a picture. The photo was first taken into a dark room. It was then soaked in water, then converted into a metallic silver. It was then rinsed in clean water, and it was finally perfected by light. As it was being developed it was handled carefully to avoid any damage, discoloration, or fading.
Our generation has been spoiled with modern technology. We are able to take a picture instantly from just about any place in the world with a cell phone or other digital devices.  In the same way, so many of us want to resist the process that God brings us through, because we are looking for an instant "modern technology" transformation. Every one of us have been taken from a negative situation but so many of us are undeveloped because we don't allow God to continue with the process in our lives.
The Lord says; allow Me to work in you and through you to bring every negative situation into a positive. Do not rebel and do not resist the process. Some say, it is too difficult but others understand that I am walking with them through it all. The process is necessary to be conformed and developed into My image. This is the place where all impurities and defilement will be destroyed and all bruises and blemishes will be erased.

This is the place where the rough edges will be smooth out, broken hearts will be restored and wounds from the past will be removed. The memories of the afflictions and traumas will be wiped away. This is the place where your mind will be renewed and you will learn to walk in integrity and grow in maturity. This place is necessary for your spiritual growth and fruit that will remain. Just as there is a process of maturation in the natural life, there is also a process in your spiritual life. Trust Me when you feel that the process is too challenging. My plans will be established through this process of development. This is where transformation will take place. This is where you will learn to walk and this is where you will learn to grow.
Your Vision Becomes a Reality
Visualize the big picture and understand that it requires many steps to get there. Don't look back which will hinder the process of development. In the same way that Joseph yielded to the process without seeing the outcome of his future, don't let go of your dream. See yourself as the transformed person who I have created you to be. As you allow Me to work in you, you will understand what it is to live a victorious life.

Allow Me to accomplish My perfect will in you, and bring you into the place that I have for you to make a difference. Allow Me to rearrange your life and work deep within as I bring you into a higher place. As you allow Me to change you into the glorious person that I created you to be, others will see the brilliance of the transformed life that I am forming in you. You are individually crafted and exclusively built. There are no two people the same, and no two serves the same purpose. I have created you individually with a plan and a purpose. Yield to the process. The process is necessary for your vision to become a reality as you allow Me to work in and through you says the Lord.
Psalm 105:19 Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of the Lord tested him.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:13b For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

When We Fall Short, His Work at the Cross Is More Than Enough by MICHAEL BROWN

Michael Brown

When We Fall Short, His Work at the Cross Is More Than Enough

Yes, it is finished! The divine mission has been accomplished! Jesus has done it! Every sin has been paid for, every evil deed judged, and the full and total price of our redemption purchased at the cross. That is the power of the blood of Jesus. That is the glory of the Son of God. That is the depth of the Father’s love—and it was all for you and for me so that forever we could be with Him and even share in His nature. Who could imagine such a story of love?
Jesus perfectly lived the life He had to live and perfectly died the death He had to die. It is finished! It is with good reason that John G. Lake (1870-1935) said, “In all of your preaching and teaching you must always leave people with the consciousness of the triumph of Christ.” Yes! Amen!
It’s time we put our focus on the cross, where Jesus the Messiah “suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,” where God “made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God,” where the Father canceled “the record of debt that stood against us with legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross” (1 Pet. 3:18; 2 Cor. 5:21; Col 2:14).
It was at the cross that the Lord “disarmed the [demonic] rulers and authorities and put them to open shame,” triumphing over them through Yeshua’s death and resurrection (Col. 2:15, ESV). And it was there at the cross that Jesus “himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds [we] have been healed. For [we] were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of [our] souls” (1 Peter 2:24-25).
The story really is too good to be true, and to exaggerate it is to cheapen it. See what Paul wrote 2,000 years ago in Romans 5:6-10, 15, 17, and note those words, “much more”! Everything about the cross shouts, “Much more!” Surely that “much more” is more than enough for us!
We sinned. He died.
We were guilty He was punished.
We deserved death. He gave his life.
We rejected Him. He accepted us.
We drove the nails in His hands. Those nails saved our souls!
And now, in Him, we have everything we need. And now, through Him, we can do the Father’s bidding. And now, with Him, we can go and change the world. Isn’t this more than enough?
Our sins have been dealt with once and for all at the cross, and we need never look for another sacrifice or offering for our guilt. When we fall short, we look back to the cross, and the same blood that saved us cleanses us afresh, and we go forward, free from condemnation and guilt, living lives that please the Lord.
And there’s something else that we now understand. When He died, we died with Him, and we too have been raised in newness of life, considering ourselves dead to sin and alive to God (Rom. 6:6-12). That is the power of the gospel!
And when Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father, He sent the Spirit down to us, now to dwell within us, to guide us and instruct us, turning us from error and leading us into truth, communing with us in holy fellowship and empowering us for holy service. This is the all complete, all comprehensive grace of God, and all of it was purchased at the cross, where the Savior of the world perfectly accomplished the Father’s mission, declaring, “It is finished!”
Because of that we have a glorious calling! (See 2 Peter 1:3-4). He has now promised that nothing in the universe can separate us from His love and that He Himself will keep us strong to the end, as we “continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that [we] heard” (Col. 1:23), confident that the God “who began a good work in [us] will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil. 3:6), and putting our trust in the one “who is able to keep [us] from stumbling and to present [us] blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen” (Jude 24-25).
Is this not enough? Is this not much more than enough?
That’s why for the next trillion years, just as eternity is getting started, we will glory more and more in the finished work of the cross, finally understanding just what Paul meant when he said, “But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world” (Gal. 6:14). May this be our boast as well.

PRAYER POWER FOR THE WEEK OF 2/17/2014
This week meditate on what Christ did for you on the cross, and spend time thanking God for this ultimate sacrifice of immeasurable love. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Pray that God will direct each day and give you opportunities to share His love and gospel with those who desperately need Him. Lift up those suffering from the effects of recent winter storms and look to connect with those offering help, ministry and provision. Continue to pray that our nation’s leaders will recognize their need for God’s wisdom, guidance and counsel. Pray for more laborers for the harvest, for Israel to fulfill God’s purpose and for worldwide revival to spread. Ps. 100; Col. 1:23; Phil. 1:6.

Chuck D. Pierce: "Look Again! A Move of God Has Begun" - (The Elijah List)

Chuck D. Pierce:
"Look Again!
A Move of God Has Begun"
- The Elijah List

Chuck D. PierceNewsletter sent January 21, 2014:

I love how the Spirit of God can visit us and bring new life to situations which seem improbable, hopeless or even dead. Many times Holy Spirit speaks to us through music and prophetic revelation.

During one of our Noon Prayer gatherings, LeAnn Squier began to prophesy in song. In reviewing the lyrics, I was amazed at how this spoke to us.

"There Is Supply You Are Not Aware Of"

LeAnn Squier began to sing:
I looked and I saw a serpent
But it was just my fear looking back at me
Then I looked again and I saw a fish.
I saw My prosperity.
I then added: "It appears to be a serpent but it is a spirit of Hear the clock tickingfear that is attached to you." God says, "Look again! Look again!"

Even within the fish there is supply that you are not aware of.

Even some of you need that for your taxes in this season. Some of you need that which is within that fish so that the eggs can begin to produce a different type of supply. What's in the fish you haven't seen?

"I am going to cause much supply to manifest."

LeAnn continued by singing:
I looked and I saw a stone.
But it was my heavy heart looking back at me.
I looked again and I saw bread.
It was bread indeed.
The problem hasn't been with Your provision, Lord.
It's been in the way that I see.
Because all my fears and doubts have simply been looking back at me.
So I am going to take and remove what has been hidden inside of me.
So I can look and truly see as You see my prosperity.

"Ask Me For the Fish"

As she sang I looked in my wallet, but saw there was no cash. So I reached in my pocket as well. When I did so, there was a certificate for a new pair of shoes. I heard the Lord say, "Some of you are looking to find how you're going to walk in one way.

Look at the fish. Ask Me for the fish. The serpent might be on your road but see the fish and inside the fish there will be supply for you to shod your feet with peace. You'll walk right past the serpent that is in your path."

The Spirit of God is giving us the prophetic revelation we need before we need it.

Be alert to LOOK AGAIN at what He has already said to you in the past seasons. He will now refresh His voice so you can gain the revelation you need now and see a manifestation of His grace and promise in your life.

Blessings,

Chuck D. Pierce

“Less IS More.” - Ahava Love Letter (Steve Martin)

                                              “Less IS More.”

So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to go away also, do you?” Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. John 6:67,68 NAS)

Dear family of friends,

My good wife is right. But it has taken me awhile to admit it.

It used to be whenever she’d say, “Less is more,” it was irritating. How can something less be something more? Are you kidding me?

But now I am a changed man. Yes, I believe less is more, as in what the Lord intends to do with His people.

In my previous Ahava Love Letter, #98, I wrote on “How Shall We Then Give”, in regards to those we support with our financial gifts. The encouragement I gave in advising readers was to give your support to those whom you personally know; more so than giving to big ministries, with big budgets, whom you have little knowledge of where your money actually goes. This being because it is about relationships, not just giving money.

If we see Yeshua (Jesus) as our model for ministry, as we should, we know that He gathered twelve together, with whom He spent the majority of His three years teaching. There were certainly the big crowds on occasion, but that wasn’t His main effort. It was the small settings, the intimate moments, the relationships with the ones who would be faithful to go forward. This is a critical lesson for us. Indeed, less is more.

We all know that Sunday church attendance is way down, especially in America, the UK, and Europe. There are many reasons for this, but I am not so certain we have to be discouraged about it. Perhaps it was the “wrong model” and God the Father is showing us that. Allowing the large church buildings to fill less and less might just be pushing the committed Christians into closer relationships with those who are in it for the long haul. We are to form those connections that the Lord is really after.

Just as it happened to Yeshua Himself towards the end of His earthly ministry, the crowds dropped off considerably. We hate to see it happen, but He has always seemed to prefer using small numbers to accomplish His purposes, rather than large crowds. You really can’t have much fellowship with hundreds of people attending a two hour service, and then each go off in every other direction afterwards. But you can build solid relationships when you are in the trenches with your brother and sister, spending real time with them.

I envision that the days of "large" ministries, with large budgets, are going to be over soon. Especially in America, where too much emphasis has been placed on the "one man, large ministry" model. This will end.

One very real sense I have had from the Lord is that He is taking us down to smaller numbers, in smaller settings, to build teams of solid believers properly jointed together. Just as He did Himself in His ministry. Just as Paul and the other apostles did with their small teams in the first century. And they changed the world.

The Lord’s concentration and life flow will take place through the close knit, one to one relationships He is establishing. These relationships will be where ministry for each other occurs. The end result will be to touch the nations with effective spiritual activity, flowing out from us.

As for my wife and I, we are seeking to get rightly jointed with the local body we attend, and be part of a team that will touch the nations. We must be committed to His purposes and desires to have His Bride joined properly together. I hope you are doing the same.

Ahava to my family of friends,
