"The Windows of Heaven: God is Pouring Out His Spirit!" - Paulette Reed

"The Windows of Heaven: God is Pouring Out His Spirit!"
Paulette Reed, Surprise, AZ
The Elijah List

On the eve of Pentecost, the Lord began to speak to me about His season of celebration and power that we are now beginning to enter into. Many have prayed, fasted and waited years, even lifetimes, to see the power of God manifest on the earth. We've cried out to the Lord, "There's more, there's more, we know it, we see it in Your Word. We see the action in the book of Acts and if it's You, Jesus, we want it!"

I believe we are about to see our prayers answered as the windows of Heaven open.

In the Old Testament the Feast of Pentecost was a time of celebration and jubilation. God had stepped down from Heaven to the top of Mount Sinai to speak to His people (Exodus 19–20), where they were blessed to have received the Law (Torah). In the New Testament, this feast took on a celebration of power when Holy Spirit descended on His people in the Upper Room (Acts 2:1–5) and the Church was birthed. (Photo via flickr)

Pentecost is the fourth of seven Biblical feasts, and it is the final spring feast. Granted, the feasts were originally intended for the worship of God in Israel, but we, as New Testament Gentile Believers, are graphed into the family of God. The Feast of Pentecost is truly a time to rejoice and a good time to reflect, remembering milestones and how far God has brought us [the Church] as we have journeyed with Him through our lives.

God established each of the Biblical feasts so that we would be able to discern the times and seasons in which we live. When we recognize and embrace those seasons we can step into our destinies as ambassadors for Christ.

Here is the Download From Heaven:

1. We must all be in one accord. Of course, this is always true, but we are not where we need to be at the present moment. It's a season of unity as God's people gather together, spiritually speaking. And when God's people dwell together in unity, there God commands His blessing. God wants to bless so that we can bless others as we share the Gospel with a hurting world, caring for the poor, the orphans and the widows.

2. We are in a time of divine reversal. Genesis 11 teaches us about the Tower of Babel and the confusion brought to the people of the land once God scattered their languages. Pentecost, on the other hand, is the reversal of that event. After receiving a fiery Spirit, the disciples found themselves proclaiming the Gospel in every language of the world so all could understand and hear them praise the Lord. We've stepped into a season of clarity.

May our spiritual eyes and ears be open like never before as we receive revelation from the Lord. (Photo by Jennifer Page "Fire Starter Poem" via elijahshopper.com)

3. The waiting is now over. Just as the original 120 followers of Jesus waited for God's power to descend upon them, we have done the same in our own day and time. We have prayed and sought the presence of God, and we have received an outpouring of His Spirit. We are now in a season of action. It is time to stop talking about our plans and actually begin doing them by the power that the Spirit gives us.

4. Miracles, signs and wonders. As we step into this new season we are about to see a demonstration of the Spirit in signs, wonders, and miracles, that hasn't been seen since the early Church.

5. The winds of Heaven are blowing. May you feel the winds of Heaven at your back as you move from a time when things seemed difficult to a time where the assignments of God are easily entreated.

6. This is a season of new things. In this new season, try not to resist change and be sure to avoid the seven deadly words: "We never did it that way before." God is about to do a new thing in our midst, and we must be a people who recognize His presence and not get stuck in the old things.

7. We are in a season of suddenlies. Don't think it strange as we begin to see breakthrough and answered prayers in abundance (Acts 2:2). Yes, we have been crying out for these things, longing for the Kingdom of Heaven to break into our present circumstances. Now we are in a season where God will "suddenly" show up, manifesting His power and giving us the breakthroughs we have been longing for. (Photo via Pixabay)

8. It's time to celebrate the generosity of the Lord and to be generous with what God has given to us. We find instructions for how to celebrate Shavuot [Pentecost] in Leviticus 23:22. Here is God's command to the people of Israel: "When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord Your God."

9. It's a time for the bride to make herself ready. When God gave His Law, His Torah (Exodus 20–23), to His people, He took her as His bride. The Old Covenant was a marriage contract between God and the people of God (Jeremiah 3:1–6, 14). The Lord made His "vows" to protect, safeguard, prosper, and bless His bride, if they obeyed His voice. They said, in effect, "I do" (Exodus 19:4–6; 24:7–8). May we remember that in marriage, all that our Heavenly Bridegroom has is ours, and all that we have is His. So, let's each do our part to declare His Kingdom, glory and power on earth as it is in Heaven.

10. Fire. When the disciples were in the Upper Room, praying for an outpouring of God's Spirit, the Holy Spirit descended in tongues of fire upon each person there, thus giving them fresh vision and passion to fulfill the work of God. Whenever the fire of God comes on someone, it always creates a greater passion for Him, accompanied by a greater passion to serve Him in the context God has set us in.
Let's rise up and seek Him like never before, believing that He is about to pour out His Spirit in a fresh and new way, remembering that 2015 is the Year of the Open Window.

Favor Verses Entitlement by Paulette Reed

Favor Verses Entitlement

Living Epistles

One thing I love about growing older is how the Word of God becomes more alive to me with each and every passing day. As a living epistle, I've had the honor of experiencing the Scriptures in deeper and more unique ways. One verse that jumped off the page as I was reading my Bible recently was Psalm 37:25: "I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his descendants begging bread."

As I pondered this word in my heart, I reflected on the fact that I have never had to beg God for the necessities of life. Strong's Concordance defines begging as "to seek, require, demand, or request." Does that mean if someone seems to be consistently asking for money, goods, or reduced prices, they are lacking in righteousness? Does it mean they are not righteous in the way God defined it? It is something to certainly think about.

Confusion in the Camp

I am deeply concerned when I see Christians living a life that does not line up with the plumb line of God - Psalm 37:25 included. When people beg, living as entitled Christians, they are giving the devil a foothold as deception leads them into believing that a demonic spirit of entitlement is really the favor of God. But they are not the same at all! In fact, they are the complete opposite of each other.

If indeed the righteous do not beg, then why do we hear so many believers asking or begging for special treatment and favor? Why do we constantly hear the innuendoes that are in opposition to Psalm 37:25? For example, when someone is standing with a group of believers and says, "Oh dear, my back is stiff and I need a massage so badly but I just can't afford one," knowing that a massage therapist is in the group, is that person exuding favor or entitlement? Did that really have to be announced to the group? Would that person have said the same thing had not a massage therapist been part of the group?

Psalm 33:13 reminds us, "When the Lord looks down from heaven, He observes every human being." God knows every sparrow that falls to the ground, He knows every hair that is upon our head, so certainly no one has to share their plight with a group of people in order to manipulate others to have mercy on them and give them something for free. It is God who supplies all of our needs according to His riches in glory.

Or what about when people who use the calling on their life as their business card to achieve their needs? Someone may say, "We're missionaries, so we're hoping you would serve us for free." How in the world does that glorify God? Should Christians have to "beg" a dentist to provide services for free to fix their teeth? Our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills, so certainly He can sell a couple of those cattle to meet our needs.

Being a Christian does not give anyone the right to pull too hard on someone's mercy gift or compassion, demanding or manipulating them to give us something for free. In fact, pulling too hard is a sign of entitlement, not a sign of God's favor upon our lives. These are just two of many examples I'm witnessing frequently in the Church today. Begging grieves the Holy Spirit.

There is a Season for Everything

I understand that to everything there is a season, and a time for everything under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3). So I don't have a problem with people using government assistance or church food banks or an offering to supplement health insurance needs for a season when it is truly needed. Ultimately, however, insurance is truly our responsibility for us and our children, as we are taught in the Word to obey the laws of the land (Romans 13:1). I'm speaking from experience here knowing that he Lord truly is my Maker, my Husband, and my Provider.

I know there are reasons the government is looking at limiting some assistance programs to one year. I agree with some of those reasons while disagreeing with others. Perhaps this is a good place to say, "Alleluia!" because, sometimes - and I mean sometimes - assistance can give the enemy legal rights to release a spirit of entitlement on a person. And no one wants those evil hitchhikers attached to them.

Since 1 Corinthians 15:46 teaches us that things in the natural realm often take place before things in the spiritual realm, could it be that the Lord is showing us something in allowing the government to cut back assistance? Is God trying to set people free and empower them to rise up and believe what they believe - that the government truly does rest on His shoulders?  Perhaps God wants to show Himself mighty as His Kingdom has everything we need and we need everything His Kingdom has.

People who are deceived as to what's truly the favor of God and what's an entitlement spirit might say, "I'm living by faith." Well, that may be true, but it's not their faith they are living by - it is often someone else's faith. Every time a person gets something for free, or at a reduced price, someone somewhere is paying for it. The products and services and food weren't really free, rather someone who is paying Caesar what belongs to Caesar (Mark 12:17) just paid for those "free" services.

And where in the world does any believer get the idea that living by faith means not working? Even God works, for Genesis 2:2 tells us, "By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done." And He expects hard work from us as well. One of several Scriptures teaching us to have a good work ethic is Colossians 3:23, where Paul says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men."

Work is not a result of the fall, a curse that we are to endure while on this side of heaven. God established work before the fall of humanity. Before Adam and Eve ever sinned, before they ever ate of the fruit they were told not to eat from, God had given them the mandate to work and keep the Garden. It is true that after the fall work became much harder - it was by the sweat of his brow that Adam was now to till the ground. We might ask ourselves, "How am I doing in maintaining my portion of God's garden?"

Since God created work before the fall, and since God Himself worked in creating the heavens and the earth, we have a mandate to work and contribute to society. This is one of the ways we fight the spirit of entitlement in our lives. Paul admonished the Ephesians, "He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need" (Ephesians 4:28).

Personally, I love working heartily for the Lord and sharing thousands of dollars with the poor every year. But what really defines those who are poor? Again, Paul tells the Thessalonians, "For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order: if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either" (2 Thessalonians 3:10).

Exposing the Lie

Entitlement, according to Webster's Dictionary, is "the condition of having a right to have, do, or get something; the feeling or belief that you deserve to be given something (such as special privileges); a type of financial help provided by the government for members of a particular group." Having a spirit of entitlement goes against the gospel itself, the fact that Jesus saved us when we were dead in our sins.

Beloved, we have no rights when it comes to entitlement. We gave up our rights the moment we were born from above and stepped into the Kingdom of God, thus letting God rule and reign in our lives. We were not saved to be entitled people, but people who are called to walk in the favor of God.

Favor, on the other hand, is the Greek word charis, which means grace, favor, or kindness. The favor of God is a gift or blessing brought to us by Jesus Christ. It's both unmerited and undeserved. The fact that we have been born again is a result of the kindness of God - we didn't do anything to deserve it or be entitled to it. We weren't good enough, righteous enough, or holy enough to deserve salvation. Rather, it was a gift freely given by God when we were dead in our sins. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God…" That doesn't sound like a gift given because someone was entitled to it.

Please know that my heart in writing about this subject is to glorify God and train, protect, and set the captive free for those who may be confusing God's favor with a spirit of entitlement. As I have said for many years, "People who are deceived don't know they are deceived because they are deceived."  Let's learn to quickly recognize when the enemy is trying to deceive us regarding a spirit of entitlement and when we are really walking in God's favor.

God's grace is freely given to us, so we should always seek to be a blessing to others. We should seek to be the greatest givers, the greatest tippers, the greatest employers, and the greatest employees, contributing to the betterment of humanity. Let us be people who never demand that someone else is required to take care of us. Rather, let us be people who rest in God's favor on our lives.

Keep Shinin' by Paulette Reed

Keep Shinin'

The Battle
During a trip to Haiti in May 2014, I was hit with a horrible virus called Chickungunya. Let me tell you, it was not fun. Actually, the doctors think I contracted the mosquito-borne virus twice, making matters more complicated. Following the Chickungunya came vertigo, and then several weeks later shingles came knocking on my door. Needless to say, all of this was challenging and foreign to me because I don't do sick - period. But it is at times like these that we learn to practice what we preach and walk as overcomers in Christ Jesus.

As I received prayer for the maladies, some of the people praying sensed that curses had been spoken over me. Others broke off damaging words that the Lord showed them, because we all know that life or death is in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:2). And, of course, we needed to discern how the enemy might have been allowed access into my life, and then we prayed to close any doors (spiritually speaking) that may have been open. All of the discernment shared during the time of illness was greatly appreciated, and, as always, Jesus is the Healer.

The Light

In anticipation of the fulfillment of prophetic words declaring that one billion souls are coming into the Kingdom of God within the next ten years, every one of us must be strong and healthy. So, in preparing for the great harvest of souls that's coming, I strongly contended for my health during this season of testing. Today, I want to encourage anyone reading this who needs to win a victory to do the same - contend! It's interesting, but I found that what actually bothered me much more than being physically sick was that I felt spiritually sick too. I sensed that I had lost some of God's divine light. My eyes, which are the window to the soul, seemed dull and lifeless and it seemed that some of the Lord's light was MIA when it came to my countenance.

It was Smith Wigglesworth who once said, "Don't lose in the dark what you gained in the light." All believers have a conflict going on between the Kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. And we know that eventually darkness will cover the earth, and deep darkness the peoples, as we read in Isaiah 60. Because of this, beloved, we must know how to contend for and maintain the fullness of the King of Glory if we go through dark times ourselves.

When we've done all we can, we must stand firm, knowing that in the end God's light always wins. It helps to remember that one little match can light up a huge arena, so we must push through the darkness, trusting God, knowing and believing that Jesus is our Bright Morning Star.

James 1:17 tells us that "every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." By hiding this Word in my heart, I was well aware that the missing light was not God's issue, because in Him there is no shifting shadow. Rather, I knew the issue was mine, and I longed to shine for Jesus.

What Is the Light?

The Word of God tells us in James 5 that our effective prayers accomplish much. And wisdom tells us that if we are to grapple for something, then we must know what that something is. If there are things that have been stolen in our lives, how can we expect them to be restored if we don't know exactly what they are?

John says, "In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it" (John 1:4-5). We know the light that born-again believers have is in the Lord, and the Lord is in them, causing His light to shine. And we also know from this passage that the darkness can't lay hold of it. In other words, the darkness can't even understand or perceive the light that dwells within us. So we must speak the Word and God will bring light out of darkness, order out of chaos.

A good place to gain understanding of the light is at the beginning. In Genesis 1:3, God said,"Let there be light; and there was light." The Hebrew word for light here is owr (ore), which means illumination, bright and clear. The root word means "to be," to cause, or to make glorious; to set on fire, or to shine. God was calling down the presence of the Lord of Glory on the entire planet in the beginning, causing light to shine forth in the darkness!
Later on in the creation narrative, we see the light of the moon, sun, and the stars being created:

God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth"; and it was so. God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.

God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day (Genesis 1:14-19).

The Hebrew word for light in this scripture is maowr, which refers to the sun and the moon. The first light God called forth was divine light, and the second type of light was solar light. Of course, we must have both (we couldn't physically survive without solar light), but we desire to be filled with God's divine light and not lose it in the dark.

Where is the Light?

If God called down the presence of the glory of the Lord, then what happened since that time? Why isn't it being manifested on the earth today? After all, if we are truly filled with the divine light of God, then wouldn't we be like human, electric bug zappers? This isn't just any light we're talking about here; it's the light of Almighty God! Think about it for a moment: if any darkness or any evil even gets close to the light of God, shouldn't it supernaturally disintegrate, kind of like getting too close to the sun?

Unfortunately, after the creation of light in Genesis, we had this problem in the garden called the fall of man, where Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, thus disobeying God. But now we can also experience redemption of all things since Jesus paid our debt on the cross, reversing the curse from the garden of Eden. I don't know about you, but that inspires me to contend for the light of God, the fullness of His presence, until we see it fully restored in our own lives, and in the earth as well.

Wouldn't you agree that the Kingdom of Heaven is a Kingdom of light, where everything shines and everything glistens? First John 1:5 tells us, "God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all." Therefore, if we're in Christ and Christ is in us, and there is no darkness at all in Him, then there shouldn't be any darkness at all in us.

The Lord is leading His Bride into a time where there will be no mixture of light and darkness. No spots or wrinkles. In fact, He's commanding us to shine like never before. We've been hearing Isaiah 60:1-3 for years now, telling us:

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth and deep darkness the peoples; but the LORD will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.

How will nations come to our light if they can't see it? It's our responsibility to contend for the light of God, and not lose in the darkness what we've gained in the light. And let us also remember that glory and light are always connected: "And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb"(Revelation 21:23).

Nothing Between God and Us

Looking back to Genesis 1 again, the Word says, "The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light" (Genesis 1:2-3).

What did God make the light out of? The light came out of darkness! He didn't even cast out the darkness; He just turned it into light. He simply declared, "Let there be light," and there light appeared. In all of God's wisdom and brilliance, He used the darkness for His glory. Alleluia!

Shouldn't that same principle apply to us today? Of course it should, because we're sons and daughters of the Most High God. We're His ambassadors, speaking His Word. He's the vine and we are the branches, so as we cling to the vine we stay plugged into the power source - God. We should be able to make use of the darkness surrounding us, allowing the glory of God's light to shine forth. The darkness in our lives, whether that's illness, bitterness, gossip or fill-in-the-blank, can become the foundations of our destinies (Psalm 102:25) if we allow God to build light out of darkness as He uses all things for good. This is why Jesus said we are to be a city set on a hill and a light on a lampstand, giving light for all to see.

While I was sick, I realized that the illness was trying to pull my focus off of Jesus onto myself, onto my flesh. It's difficult, but not impossible, to stay focused on the Word and on the promises of God when we're sick. And yes, of course, to everything there is a season, and sometimes we have to slow down and concentrate on resting and getting well. But the Lord has promised to take us from strength to strength and from glory to glory, so we have to find a way to allow His living Word to change us. For me, it was the Bible on CD, as well as praise and worship.

I enjoy how The Message translates 2 Corinthians 3:16-18, because it gives us insight into beholding God's light and letting it be reflected back out of us.

Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are-face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We're free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.

Do you get it? When we behold His face and stand in His light, any darkness or sin must come out of hiding. It can't stand in the light, for His light exposes all things. And the more we look at Him, the more we look like Him. Every time we're sick, grieved, or hurt, if we can learn to behold His face and bleed worship in the midst of our suffering, a divine exchange takes place.

The Lord is asking that there be nothing between us and Him. I recall a vision the Lord gave me of the bride's veil being lifted off her face, but just to the bottom of her eyes. I believe it is a good time to ask ourselves some tough questions, like what is causing darkness in our lives? What are some of the veils we wear that don't allow God's glory to shine in or shine out in fullness? Perhaps there are veils of sin, infirmities, wounds, rejection, bitterness, and poverty that must be taken care of so the glory of the Lord can fill the earth.

God Turns Darkness into Light

We have to understand that it is only the Lord who causes our light to shine as we yield to Him. In Psalm 18:28, the psalmist declares, "You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light." Not only does the Lord turn our darkness into light, but He also wants to fill us with His light.

He tells us in Ephesians 1:17-18, which is a prayer Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers:  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened (illuminated, shining), so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.

Beloved, 2015 is going to be an amazing year as the Lord removes the veils and allows His light to be seen like never before. Even in the midst of all the darkness surrounding us, we must yield to God and gradually become brighter and more beautiful as He fills our lives and turns darkness into light.

Paulette Reed: God Says, "I Am Bringing You Help!"

Love For His People Editor's Note: There were sentences in this message that I could relate to so much, for many of us, that I BOLD, put in BLUE and HIGHLIGHTED them!

I shared similar thoughts in my NOW THINK ON THIS message "When God Speaks" on May 1, 2014. You can search for it, and all the NOW THINK ON THESE messages in the search box on the right hand column.

Blessings on ye head!

A Prophetic Experience: "I Am Bringing You Help!"

I recently had a prophetic experience I want to share with you so you can "get in line" to receive a prophet's reward (see Matthew10:41). I pray it will also heighten your prophetic senses, for we are a prophetic people who are called to dream with God in these times.

A few weeks ago I was working in my garage all morning long, unpacking and sorting resources for Prophetic Arrow Ministries – books, CDs, and DVDs. When I was finished, I pulled my car out of the garage so I could run a few errands around town.

As I was driving down the street, thinking about my list of errands to do that day, I stopped at a red light. There was a pretty, young woman in the car to my right who honked her horn at me. I glanced over at her and immediately noticed she was wearing a bright green blouse...the color of prosperity. She motioned with her hand for me to roll down my window. When I did so, she smiled and said, "You have a large tape dispenser on your trunk." I smiled and said, "Oh, thank you!" I was very grateful she told me.

Tape dispenserAfter the young woman told me about the tape dispenser on my trunk, I thought I would just drive slowly for a few more blocks to my destination, and then I would remove the dispenser. However, I began to feel a bit uneasy about that decision, thinking it could easily fly off and hit someone's car, or someone could run over it and it could damage their tires. So I pulled into the left lane to make a left-handed turn, planning to stop in a quiet area and remove the tape dispenser from my trunk.

 (Photo via freeimages.com)

As I sat waiting for the left turn arrow to turn green, I saw that the same woman who told me about the dispenser was now right behind me. I watched in the rearview mirror as she opened her car door, ran, and grabbed the dispenser from my car, and brought it right to my driver's door. I opened the door as she smiled and said, "Here you go, ma'am!"
I said, "Well, you are just too sweet!"

Holy Spirit immediately spoke to my heart and said, "I am bringing you help!" By this time, I was totally covered with Holy Ghost bumps from head to toe, and I began to weep and thank the Lord for His unexpected surprise.

He is so faithful to provide for us exactly what we need when we need it.

One of the things that stuck out to me the most while reflecting later on this experience was the fact that instead of rolling down the window when the woman approached me with the tape dispenser, I instinctively opened my door to receive it. As many of you know, in accordance with the Jewish calendar, this is the year of open doors for the Body of Christ.

I decree that along with those open doors, it is also the year where God is sending help – from Holy Spirit, angels, and others in the Body of Christ – so we can fulfill the dreams of God.

Special deliveryWhen people order resources from us, we package them in boxes and then use the tape to "seal the deal," so to speak.
Prophetically speaking, the tape dispenser represents messages being prepared and shipped around the world.

In the year of the open door, God is giving His people wisdom from Heaven, opening them up to new and exciting prophetic experiences.

These experiences will become messages (testimonies) that are sent around the world as we see in Luke 8:39, where we're encouraged to go and tell all that God has done for us!

When God encounters us, He doesn't do it for our sake alone. Rather, He encounters us and deposits something within us so that we can give it to those in need. When Isaiah encountered God (see Isaiah 6), he didn't just stop there and only worship the Lord, thinking that was all there was to it. As the encounter came to an end, God wanted Isaiah to share what he experienced with others. Once the angel touched the live coal from the altar to his lips, Isaiah said, "Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us?' And I said, 'Here am I. Send me!'" (Isaiah 6:8).

God Is Chasing Us Down

God is about ready to chase us down, Beloved, helping us dispense the message we've received to the world. It is important to keep in mind that the trunk represents a safe place to carry resources and supplies. But, even though the inside of a trunk is safe, the Lord's resources won't benefit anyone if they're locked up inside. This reminds me of a quote I heard some time ago: "A ship is safe in its harbor, but that's not where it belongs." The fact that the dispenser was on the outside of the trunk indicates that God wants our resources and messages to be visible to others, so people can run to help one another.

Watch for signs and arrows from HeavenVehicles often represent ministries, and we're all ministers in one way or another.

So, as you're stewarding your "vehicle," watch for signs/arrows from Heaven so you don't miss your turn.

In fact, God loves our dreams so much that He won't allow them to lie dormant any longer, as though idling at a stoplight. He wants them on display in our lives so others can see what God is doing and saying to us. Our relationship with God can't just be about ourselves but about what God is doing in the earth today.

He is so passionate about the dreams He placed within us that He will not allow them to be stopped for long – He is sending us help.

Just as my experience with the young woman invites readers to experience the prophetic blessings of God, so your experiences with God can invite others into an encounter with Him, also. Our encounters are meant to be someone else's gateway to help them reach their dreams – God's plans and purposes for them. This is one of the reasons Peters tells us, "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have" (1 Peter 3:15).

I pray that God would chase you down, Beloved, awaking the dreams buried deep within. Help is on the way!

God-Given Gifts

The Bible assures us that every single person on earth has at least one - and probably several God-given gifts placed inside of them to be used for God's glory. When we entered this world, God already had a plan for us and gave us the gifts we needed to fulfill our destinies.

When God called Jeremiah, He reassured him by saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5).

God knew what Jeremiah was called to do and gave him the necessary gifts to fulfill that call even before he was born. God formed you in the womb too! He knows what you are called to do and has placed the perfect gifts inside of you to fulfill your destiny.

The apostle Paul assures us that each of us within the body of Christ have different gifts that are a response to God's grace: "Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly…" (Romans 12:6).

And Peter reminded his readers that they were on earth to glorify God through the use of their gifts: "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen" (1 Peter 4:10-11).

Keys to Open Doors

It's a great idea to ask yourself at the beginning of each year, "What is my vision? What is my destiny, and how to I reach it?" Asking these questions will help us focus on God's plan and purpose for our lives. In response to each of these questions, it is important for us to set reachable goals that we can achieve with the Lord's help. Remember, if we don't have a target, we're not aiming at anything. And if we're not aiming at anything, we won't even know if we hit the mark because we don't know what we're aiming at.

As we step into 2014, which is the Year of the Open Door, let's return to the basics of the gospel. Each of us should ponder these questions: What are our gifts from heaven? Do we know what God has placed in us to fulfill His plan? Do we know what our part in that plan is? It's important for us to identify our gifts because they are the keys that open doors and bring us into our divine destiny.

Proverbs 18:16 promises us, "A man's gift makes room for him and brings him before great men."

We can be sure that our gifts will be an integral part to fulfilling our God-given dreams. It's sad to watch people when they don't understand this connection. They begin to look for things in the world to fulfill their desires rather than looking to God. Unfortunately, most end up frustrated at best and discouraged at worst. However, when we learn to walk in our God-given gifts, we are not only content with our vocations, but we become passionate about them as well.

The Rhythm of Heaven

It's true that education is good and beneficial for the fulfillment of many of our dreams. But the Word of God does not tell us that education will make room for us. Don't get me wrong here: education is important and sometimes we can only walk through certain open doors because of our education. But the Bible is very clear that it is our gifts that make room for us. After all, we could earn multiple master's degrees but they may not help a bit if we don't know our true Master.

I like how 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (NLT) helps keep us humble.

Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world's eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And He chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.

Beloved, our gifts from God bring us joy, peace, and success. It's when we learn to operate in them like a well-oiled machine, and are led by the Holy Spirit that we can flow with the rhythm of heaven.

Kingdom Finances

Here's another exciting aspect about our gifts. Not only will they open doors for us, but they can also bring us the finances we need to fulfill our destinies. When we use our gifts wisely for the Lord, He will give us favor so finances will be freely given to us so that we can keep advancing the kingdom of God.

In other words, once the gift of God within us is activated, it can become a usable commodity that ushers in promotion. Daniel is the perfect example of this godly concept when he used his gifts to interpret King Nebuchadnezzar's dream:

Then King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face and did homage to Daniel, and gave orders to present to him an offering and fragrant incense. The king answered Daniel and said, "Surely your God is a God of gods and a Lord of kings and a revealer of mysteries, since you have been able to reveal this mystery." Then the king promoted Daniel and gave him many great gifts, and he made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon and chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon. (Daniel 2:46-48)

Practicing Our Gifts

After discovering our God-given gifts, it then becomes our responsibility to continually practice using them. God has called each of us to exercise our gifts so they become strong. Just like we will never reach our health goals without exercising regularly, so we may never reach our life goals if we don't exercise our gifts regularly. When we practice our gifts, we'll become more confident in our identity in Christ, thus fulfilling His plan and purpose for us.

And might I suggest here that we stay focused on "our" gifts and let the Lord bring other gifts around us. I remember years ago when I was serving a brilliant author. I was helping take his writings and organize them into sequenced trainings.

One day I looked at the leader and said, "We need to pray that the Lord gives you the gift of administration!" He looked directly at me, smiled, and said, "He did…she's sitting right there." It was a prophetic moment in my life that I didn't forget. God will bring other people (they are gifts themselves and also have various gifts) around us to connect the dots on the road to destiny.

Oftentimes people get stalled in the pursuit of dreams because they're waiting for some man or woman to open doors for them. But listen! God has a better plan for you. He has given you the keys to open doors to your future - those keys are your gifts. And the gifts inside of you are perfect because they are what God determined for you to have even before you were born.

When we wisely use our God-given gifts, they bring God glory and bring us before kings. Let's take the time to do a spiritual inventory, asking God to strengthen and use our gifts for His glory. After all, it's not just about the gifts; it's about worshiping and honoring the Gift-Giver - His name is Jesus. He gave us the greatest gift ever….the gift of eternal life to all who will receive it.
