The Left Still Can't Believe Chick-fil-A's Popularity in New York City
04-14-2018
Many on the Left continue their attack against the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain's takeover of New Yorker's taste buds. They simply can't believe that a company that prides itself in its Christian values is popular in the Big Apple.

Case in point is Dan Piepenbring's recent article in The New Yorker Magazine. Piepenbring examines how New Yorkers have taken to Chick-Fil-A and its signature sandwich.  So much so, that the day he visited the new five-story location in lower Manhattan, the line of customers waiting for food stretched around the block.

However, Piepenbring writes, the company, founded by S. Truett Cathy, feels like an infiltration because of its "pervasive Christian traditionalism."  He points to the company's stand for traditional marriage (which liberals consider anti-gay), and how in 2016, Mayor Bill de Blasio proposed a boycott.

As CBN News reported, that boycott backfired on the mayor -- the man whose job it is to encourage new business in the city.
Piepenbring writes that "proselytism thrums below the surface of the Fulton Street restaurant, which has the ersatz homespun ambiance of a megachurch."

He also suggests that Chick-fil-A's emphasis on the local community, which is one of the company standards at all of its retail locations, has an ulterior motive. And he's critical of what David Farmer, Chick-fil-A's vice-president of restaurant experience, recently told Buzzfeed about how they try to have a "pit crew efficiency, but where you feel like you just got hugged in the process.".

Piepenbring also points out that the chain's popular ad campaign showing cows saying "EAT MOR CHIKIN," in everywhere in the city. He writes that "The joke is that the Cows are out of place in New York- a winking acknowledgment that Chick-fil-A, too, does not quite belong here."

Piepenbring concludes by saying "there's something especially distasteful about what Chick-fil-A is doing" - and he encourages New Yorkers to simply say "NO MOR."
It seems, however, that multitudes of New Yorkers clearly don't agree.

The Left Is Trying To Use The #MeToo Movement As A Weapon To Destroy Donald Trump - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Posted: 11 Dec 2017  Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

The left is willing to use any means necessary to get rid of Donald Trump, and so it should be no surprise that they are now using the #metoo movement as a weapon in their crusade against him.  Personally, I have been a big fan of the #metoo movement, and I have been thrilled to see so many sexual predators exposed in recent months.  I applauded the exposure of Hollywood giants such as Harvey Weinstein and Kevin Spacey, and I believe that the resignations of Al Franken and John Conyers will be followed by many others as the truth about what has been happening on Capitol Hill continues to come out.

But we need to be very careful, because this kind of a thing can become a feeding frenzy, and in this type of environment it can be way too easy for false accusers to seem like they are telling the truth.

Every claim of sexual misconduct should be taken extremely seriously, and we should also never jump to conclusions.  A single false allegation can permanently ruin someone’s life, and those that are wealthy or famous are easy targets.

On Monday, Megyn Kelly interviewed three women that had formerly made allegations against President Trump.  The following comes from CNN
On Monday morning, a trio of women — Rachel Crooks, Samantha Holvey and Jessica Leeds — went on Megyn Kelly’s NBC show to reiterate allegations of sexual misconduct against President Donald Trump that they first aired during the 2016 presidential campaign.
“We’re private citizens and for us to put ourselves out there to try to show America who this man is and especially how he views women and for them to say, we don’t care … it hurt,” Holvey told Kelly about how the allegations against Trump were handled during the 2016 campaign. “It’s just like, all right, let’s try round two. The environment’s different. Let’s try again.”
Millions of Americans are going to assume that since three women are all making allegations against Trump that they must be true.

But we already knew that the story that Jessica Leeds is telling is not accurate.  It turns out that there is an eyewitness that was sitting directly across the aisle from Leeds and Trump on the plane ride where the misconduct allegedly took place, and he says that it never happened.

The eyewitness is a British man named Anthony Gilberthorpe, and according to People magazine, he says that Trump didn’t do any of the things that Leeds is claiming…
“I have only met this accuser once and frankly cannot imagine why she is seeking to make out that Trump made sexual advances on her. Not only did he not do so (and I was present at all times) but it was she that was the one being flirtatious,”claimed Gilberthorpe, who is British.
And during an extended interview with Breitbart, Gilberthorpe gave an account of the flight from beginning to end…
“It was back in the days. I’d only visited America one time previous to that. I’m not familiar, as I’m sure with respect to a lot of American listeners tonightwouldn’t be familiar with a lot of our British businessmen,” he explained. “But he was nice. We were talking, we were laughing, he was reading, I was reading, et cetera. She came on, and she hogged the limelight. She wanted to talk to him in a most animated, exaggerated way. About 45 minutes after she had taken her seat and we had taken off, he went to use the toilet.”
Gilberthorpe said that during Trump’s absence, Leeds told him who his fellow passenger was, excitedly explaining that he was “one of the richest men in the world.”
“And her quote, not mine: ‘Oh, I can’t believe that I’m sitting next to him. I can’t believe it! This is the man I want to marry!’ Okay, it was all said in jest and joke, but she was so excited about having the chance, the opportunity, of sitting next to this man. I attempted to talk over to Trump, but she wasn’t really having much of it. I was talking to her, to him, for the remaining two-and-a-half hours of the journey. We landed in New York. Having landed, he politely said, ‘Goodbye,’ shook my hand, and shook hers. He didn’t kiss her, didn’t kiss her. And she and I left the plane together. She and I exchanged kisses. I went for my luggage. She did not go for her luggage. That’s another marker I’m putting down tonight,” he said.
After examining the evidence, I have come to the conclusion that Leeds is simply lying.  And that is a horrible thing to do, because she is discrediting the entire #metoo movement.
But the fact that Leeds is not telling the truth is not stopping Democratic lawmakers from using these allegations to hammer President Trump.  In fact, on Monday Senator Kirsten Gillibrand called for Trump to resign.

But that isn’t going to happen, and the White House is fighting back hard against these false allegations
The White House released a fresh statement early Monday decrying the “false” claims of the women at the press conference.
“These false claims, totally disputed in most cases by eyewitness accounts, were addressed at length during last year’s campaign, and the American people voiced their judgment by delivering a decisive victory,” a White House spokesperson said in a statement. “The timing and absurdity of these false claims speaks volumes and the publicity tour that has begun only further confirms the political motives behind them.”
It is funny how the mainstream media never even wanted to address the very serious allegations of sexual misconduct against Bill and Hillary Clinton that kept arising, and yet anyone with any sort of a claim against Trump gets front page coverage.

Once again, every single allegation of sexual misconduct needs to be taken extremely seriously, and when there is a contested claim it is absolutely imperative that we take the time to figure out who is telling the truth and who is lying.

In our legal system, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and we should apply the same approach in the court of public opinion as well.

The Left Finds New Way to Bash Trump: His Connection With Pentecostals - STEVE STRANG CHARISMA MAGAZINE

The Left Finds New Way to Bash Trump: His Connection With Pentecostals

STEVE STRANG  CHARISMA MAGAZINE
Strang Report, by Steve Strang, Founder of Charisma magazine
Pentecostal prophets predicted Donald Trump would win against all odds. Christian leaders have met with him many times, and he is open to their counsel and prayer. Recently, a photo of Christian leaders laying hands on Trump in the Oval Office went viral.
And the left is enraged. First, they don't understand it. Then, they find our doing spiritual warfare or binding and decreeing that America will turn to God to be somehow threatening.
This was the subject of a blog someone sent me that relates to an "in-depth" article by Peter Montgomery from Right Wing Watch (a project of People for the American Way, which is partly funded by business magnate and far-left political activist George Soros). Montgomery's article documents all the scary Pentecostals who want "dominion" over the earth and our country. It's actually well-researched, but it's as if he is presenting evidence to show why readers should be afraid of these people.
Frank Amedia, who is being attacked because of his POTUS Shield, thinks this is good. At least the left is taking us seriously instead of just ignoring the spiritual realm. I talked to Frank about this in a podcast you can hear below. We discuss what is happening spiritually and how the left is reacting. It's quite provocative.
I told Frank I hope my new book, God and Donald Trump, helps answer some of the questions the media seem to be asking about how this non-religious billionaire man of the world is associating and accepting prayer from crazy Pentecostals (whom the majority of Americans think are weird anyway.)
As someone who grew up Pentecostal, I understand the public consensus, and I've been subjected to some of the same ridicule. But as a believer, I also understand the spiritual realm and see how God is raising up prophets to speak to those in power.
In my book, I document four modern-day prophets who said Trump would win against all odds. Amedia was one of them. In addition, months before the election, he said on a secular talk show it would be an electoral landslide, and it was.
I'm sure those attacking us are people we would like if we were neighbors. But their worldview is diametrically opposed to ours, and they are vying for power in our culture and the government. Recently, that seems to have increased a lessening of our religious rights. As believers, we must speak up for righteousness in our nation.
These far-left people, most of whom are anti-Christian, have considered Christians in general and Pentecostals in particular to be of no consequence, so they ignore what we believe. They assumed we'd always stay within the four walls of the church so as to not disrupt their way of life. Now that God is raising up leaders to speak up outside the church, they don't know what to think. My guess is they will freak out and then decide it's of no consequence, and things for them will go back to normal.
One of my goals in writing God and Donald Trump was to bring a new angle into the discussion about the election. I want to present the idea that God in heaven may have answered the prayers of His people. Maybe it was His will for Trump to be elected. In the natural, that is hard to believe. But maybe some eyes will be opened to the fact that God reigns supreme over the affairs of men and that His will is revealed in the Word of God. The Left Lost Its Logic On Israel - Noah Beck ISRAEL TODAY

The Left Lost Its Logic On Israel

Thursday, January 26, 2017 |  Noah Beck  ISRAEL TODAY
Originally written for the Investigative Project on Terrorism
Support for Israel among Democrats has plummeted in recent years, a new Pew poll shows, with about as many – 31 percent – saying they sympathize more with the Palestinians than with Israel, which garnered 33 percent support.
By contrast, 74 percent of Republicans surveyed sympathize more with the Jewish state. That is the widest partisan gap since 1978.
A similar poll last year found a deep divide within the party, with conservative and moderate Democrats favoring Israel over the Palestinians by 53-19 percent.
This trend has accelerated during President Barack Obama's tenure. During Israel's 2014 war with Hamas, 61 percent of Democrats sympathized with Hamas and hundreds of left-wing historians openly sided with the terrorist group.
Bernie Sanders, whose liberal support nearly won him the 2016 Democratic primary, sought to empower anti-Israel figures like Cornel West – a supporter of the boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement – and James Zogby of the Arab American Institute.
President Obama's refusal to veto an anti-Israel U.N. resolution last month was ranked as the most anti-Semitic incident of 2016 by the Simon Wiesenthal Center. When Congress condemned that resolution, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, a leading contender to run the Democratic National Committee, voted against it.
This hostility toward Israel is not limited to the American Left.
In the UK, it often coincides with anti-Semitism. As Jonathan Tobin observed, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has been "openly sympathetic with Hamas and Hezbollah," has "campaigned for the release of terrorists convicted of attacking Jewish targets," and "praised vicious anti-Semites." The co-chairman of the Oxford University Labour Club resigned after the organization voted to endorse Israel Apartheid Week. The club has a growing record of anti-Semitic and anti-Israel incidents. Last May, Britain's Labour Party secretly suspended 50 of its members for anti-Semitic and racist comments.
France's left-wing government just convened a 70-nation "peace conference" that was hostile to Israel
. France has summoned far less international pressure to the exponentially bloodier conflict next door in Syria. Moreover, the French government funds French, Israeli, and Palestinian organizations that support and promote BDS campaigns against Israel, a report by NGO Monitor shows. Such boycotts are illegal under French law.
France also funds several other NGOs with alleged ties to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terror group, the report notes.
In the West, the political left considers itself "progressive," yet it increasingly targets the only Mideast country that actually embraces progressive values such as the rule of law, gender and sexual equality, and freedom of religion and speech. "Progressives" attack the only Mideast country making progress for all of humanity in science, technology, and medicine – from a crowdsourced solution to traffic (Waze) to breakthrough research on melanoma and leukemia.
Yet, on university campuses, where the minds of future politicians are formed, hatred of Israel and Jews has become endemic. The AMCHA Initiative, a non-profit organization that tracks BDS and anti-Semitic activity on U.S. campuses, reported more than 600 instances of such activity in 2016.
So why do liberals embrace illiberal players in the Arab-Israeli conflict? Double standards, underdog favoritism, media bias and group think, and prejudice at institutions like the United Nations.
Because Israel is a country of laws and Western values, Western critics often hold Israel to a standard that no democracy could meet. Alan Dershowitz captures the standard that should apply: "Name a single country in the history of the world faced with internal and external threats comparable to those faced by Israel that has ever had a better record in human rights; a better record with compliance of the rule of law; a better record of concern for civilians?"
In addition, media coverage often is skewed by Palestinian intimidation and deception, by reporters who uncritically favor underdogs, and by sloppy journalism and outright bias.
Hamas physically intimidates journalists who dare to defy its propaganda goals, thus distorting both the "facts" and the photos distributed to the world.
"Pallywood" – the practice of staging casualties and defaming Israel – has been deceiving journalists for at least 16 years. A particularly galling Pallywood example from 2015 was the inflammatory lie – by "moderate" Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas – that Israeli forces "executed" a 13-year old after an attempted terrorist attack. The truth: the child was treated in the same Israeli hospital as the boy he tried to murder.
Even Amnesty International acknowledged the unreliability of "eyewitnesses" in the conflict.
By contrast, during the 2014 war, Hamas executed 23 Gazans and tortured dozens of others.
In September 2015, Hamas imprisoned Gazans for protesting over a lack of electricity, causing some Gazans to admit that they prefer Israeli rule to Hamas.
Consistently sloppy journalism also poisons public opinion against Israel. News organizations often fail to identify the terrorist and the victim when reporting on Arabs killed by Israelis trying to defend themselves from a terrorist attack. Such missing context creates the false impression that Israelis wake up every morning asking how they can hurt Arabs.
The BBC's distortions often turn terrorists into victims. Its bias is so egregious that even its former chief complained:
"Regrettably, this is not the first time the standard of reporting and impartiality has been unsatisfactory in recent weeks. On Saturday 3rd October, I was disappointed to see the BBC News website publish a misleading and counter-factual headline: 'Palestinian shot dead after Jerusalem attacks kills two'. I note reports that this headline underwent four revisions following public criticism." The BBC's horrible headlines continue, describing the terrorist in last month's Jerusalem track-ramming attack as a "Driver of a lorry...allegedly ramming pedestrians."
Worse still, mainstream political figures sometimes promote anti-Israel calumnies. Last April, Sanders claimed that Israelis killed "over 10,000 innocents in Gaza," an estimate nearly seven times higher than Hamas's propaganda estimate of civilian deaths. Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes falsely claimed in a recent PBS interview that Israel has built "thousands of new settlements" (rather than about 200). PBS never corrected this falsehood.
Thus, the "free press," which is supposed to act as a check on the government, ends up abetting its misinformation campaign against Israel.
The Obama administration and most of the political left promote a kind of anti-settlement religion that blames the lack of peace with the Palestinians on settlements. This position ignores the last century of Arab Muslim attacks on Israelis, starting decades before any settlements existed. The anti-settlement religion axiomatically affirms that settlements are illegal, even though legal scholars have concluded otherwise. The same religion also ignores Israel's removing the settlement of Yamit for peace with Egypt in 1982, and its unilateral withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. Those actions did nothing to persuade Palestinians to pursue peace, as they responded with more than 10,000 jihadi rocket attacks aimed at Israeli civilians.
Liberal support for illiberal players is illogical and counterproductive. If "progressives" choose only to blame Israel and never ask Palestinians to embrace liberal values, stop their incitement to violence, renounce terror, and accept Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people, then such "liberals" have mislabeled themselves while making peace less likely.

Like Clinton’s Campaign, Will The Much-Hyped Inauguration Protests End Up Being A Giant Failure For The Left? - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Inauguration Day Dawn - Photo by Bgwwlm

Posted: 19 Jan 2017  Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Over the past couple of months, the radical left has been endlessly hyping the protests against Donald Trump on January 20th and January 21st.  We have been told that half the population absolutely hates Donald Trump and that Washington D.C. will be filled with angry protesters that are ready to take their country back.

So where are they?  The radical left tends to talk a good game, but when it comes time for action they often come up way short.  At this point, it appears that the much-hyped “war in the streets” that they were promising is going to be a giant dud.

Reports from those on the scene in D.C. indicate that there are very few protesters running around.  Yes, a few hundred LGBT activists danced in front of Mike Pence’s home on Wednesday night.  And yes, police fired pepper spray at protesters at one point on Thursday night
Police and anti-Donald Trump protesters are clashing in a rally that began outside the Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C.
The protest started at the hotel, and then marched through D.C. to the National Press Club several blocks away. Once there … pepper spray was fired into the crowd, and protesters started trying to break through police lines.
One protester got a little bloody during the pepper spray incident, but so far that has been it.

So where are the “Ferguson-style protests” that we were promised?

Of course the truth is that these radical leftists never stood much of a chance in the first place.  Law enforcement authorities have been watching them like a hawk, and the heart of Washington D.C. has been turned into a “fortress” for the inaugural festivities.

According to Reuters, permits have been granted for at least 30 anti-Trump rallies in D.C., but so far it appears that the “army of protesters” that many were dreaming of has failed to materialize.

And the authorities in D.C. appear quite ready to handle whatever is thrown their way.  Numerous media reports today used the term “fortress” to describe the level of security immediately surrounding the U.S. Capitol…
About 28,000 security personnel, miles of fencing, roadblocks, street barricades and dump trucks laden with sand are part of the security cordon around 3 square miles (almost 8 square km) of central Washington.
But even at this late hour, the mainstream media continues to hype the possibility of chaos and violence.  For example, the National Press Photographers Association is warning of Ferguson-style rioting on Friday
The National Press Photographers Association has issued guidelines to journalists that virtually mirror those sent out during the Ferguson riots in 2014.
Reporters are advised to “maintain situational awareness” and have “an exit plan in case the situation becomes hostile”.
The group also emphasizes that journalists should “move toward the nearest police officer under the assumption that they could protect you from hostile or violent protesters.”
Other mainstream media outlets have been openly discussing the possibility of some sort of catastrophic terror attack during the Inauguration.  If you can believe it, the Today Show actually spent time talking about the possibility that a drone bombing could happen while Trump is being inaugurated…
The media is raising concerns about a drone bombing at the 58th Presidential Inauguration on Friday.
On Thursday’s “Today” show, a report indicated that U.S. Secret Service has put in place several anti-drone efforts out of concern that an I-inspired “flying IED” will smash into the crowd, or worse.
The report quoted an official from DroneShield, a drone countermeasure firm, saying that the Inauguration “is not something I would feel safe at.”
Did you ever hear these sorts of reports just prior to Obama’s inaugurations?

Of course not.

It is almost as if some in the mainstream media are actually trying to incite violence.  For instance, CNN is being loudly criticized for running a Wolf Blitzer report that suggested that someone from the Obama administration could become president if Donald Trump and Mike Pence were both “wiped out” at the Inauguration.  The following comes from Breitbart
Blitzer introduced the segment, saying, “What if an incoming president and his immediate successors were wiped out on day one?” and from there, CNN contributor Brian Todd took over to outline the line of succession if an attack blew up the inaugural dais, killing both Trump and Pence.
The upshot was that in the case of both heads of state being killed, the Secretary of State would take over. Currently that man is Secretary of State John Kerry, But in case some objected because his office would also end as of noon on Inauguration Day, then it would be the Speaker of the House — Republican Paul Ryan — or even Obama’s Under Secretary for Political Affairs Tom Shannon.
Why talk about such a thing?

By airing this on national television just before the Inauguration, CNN is potentially giving sick and twisted people ideas that they would not have otherwise considered.  If you have not seen this deeply disturbing report yet, you can view it on YouTube right here

And the international media is openly talking about the possibility of something happening to Trump as well.  The following example comes from Egypt
“The really scary confrontation will come after Trump launches a campaign to purge the U.S. government ministries, including the Department of Defense, [i.e.,] the Pentagon, [and to eliminate] the gangs that hide within the intelligence and security agencies that are the hub of global conspiracies, in order to remove Democrats and replace them with Republicans he trusts,” writes Hani ‘Asl, a columnist for the Egyptian government daily Al-Ahram.
“In these [circles] there may be someone who will try to eliminate the problem [called Trump] with a single bullet in order to protect their interests and gladden Obama and Hillary, [perhaps] even under the slogan of defending democracy and the U.S.”
Without a doubt, there are many among the elite that absolutely hate Trump.  So let us pray for his safety and for the safety of everyone that will be attending the Inauguration.

January 20th is the start of a new day for America, and it should be a time of great celebration for the entire country.  Unfortunately, there are some people out there that would very much like to rain on our parade, and let us hope that all of their efforts are completely foiled.
