Proof that Zechariah 12:3 Is Literally Unfolding Before Our Eyes

Standing With Israel
For the Christian reader, it's a name that invokes the Psalms describing its beauty, its spiritual significance, and the importance of praying for its peace. For others it stirs a wide spectrum of emotions and a quagmire of international disagreement. Here are several reasons for the multilayered controversy over Jerusalem.
The United Nations, War of Independence, and Six-Day War
Over the last 150 years, as Jerusalem expanded beyond the ancient walls of the Old City, Jews and Arabs lived interspersed on both the eastern and western sides. A complicating factor was introduced in 1947 when the United Nations drew up the Partition Plan, offering swaths of land for both Jewish and Arab states, and keeping Jerusalem separate as an internationally managed city. The Jews begrudgingly accepted the plan and declared statehood, while the Arabs rejected it outright and, instead of statehood, declared war on the new-found Jewish State.
At the end of the 1948 War of Independence between Israel and the armies of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq, armistice lines were drawn on a map with a green pen—still known today as the Green Line. Jerusalem became a divided city: Israel controlled the western part and Jordan controlled the eastern part. For the next 19 years, Jordanians prevented Jews from accessing Jerusalem's Old City and Western Wall of the Temple Mount, Judaism's holiest site.
In 1967 the Six-Day War broke out with the surrounding countries. Israel won the war, capturing the rest of Jerusalem and, for the first time since 1949, allowing the Jewish people to worship at the Western Wall. Israelis offered Arabs full citizenship and many accepted, while others accepted Permanent Resident status. For 50 years now, an undivided Jerusalem has thrived under Israel's governance, and all three faiths have enjoyed full access to their holy sites.
Israel Declares Jerusalem as Its Eternal, Undivided Capital in 1980
The Jerusalem controversy intensified in 1980 when Israel's Knesset declared all of Jerusalem as their eternal, undivided capital. An outcry sounded across the world. The United Nations refused to recognize Israel's decision and urged embassies in Jerusalem to relocate, wherewith they vacated the city for Tel Aviv. In response a small group of resolute Christians founded the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ). Since 1980 the ICEJ has mobilized Christian support for the State of Israel and the Jewish people worldwide. In the ensuing years, Israel's government has recognized the ICEJ's important outreach to all the country's communities, including Jews, Arabs, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Ethiopians.
Yasser Arafat Demands East Jerusalem Be the Palestinian Capital
Jerusalem was forced into a more dangerous quagmire under the tutelage of Palestinian Authority leader, Yasser Arafat. In 1993, after the Oslo Peace Accords, Arafat moved to Israel and set out on a disinformation crusade. He renamed the local Arabs as "Palestinians," incited Intifadas, and proclaimed the goal of Palestinian statehood with Jerusalem as the capital, even though "Palestine" had never before been a nation.
Arafat's repeated declaration of Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital sent shock waves into Israel and beyond. In recent decades, the United Nations has positioned itself squarely on the Palestinians' side and has become a veritable playground of anti-Israel resolutions, while the Palestinians themselves refuse direct negotiations with Israel.
US Congress Stands in Support of a United Jerusalem
Many streams flood into this river of controversy, but the United States Congress has been a consistent champion for Israel—both Democrats and Republicans. In 1995, Congress passed the Jerusalem Embassy Act which recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and legislated that the US Embassy should move there from Tel Aviv. A caveat in the legislation allowed the last three presidents to delay that move. However, moving the US Embassy is now a hot topic as President Trump has declared his intention to relocate the US Embassy to Jerusalem.
3 Monotheistic Faiths Are Stakeholders
For the worldwide Jewish community, Jerusalem is at the heart of their faith and was established by King David as the capital of the Jewish people some 3,000 years ago. Jerusalem was also the focal point during 2,000 years of Jewish Diaspora as they longed for their ancient homeland. For Christians, Jerusalem is particularly significant: it is the ancient Jewish city where Jesus walked, taught, lived, died, and rose again some 2,000 years ago. The Muslim world reveres Jerusalem and believes their prophet ascended from there on his Night Journey.
The problem is not in the close proximity of holy sites belonging to three different religions but when one of those religions shows disrespect for the others.  The Muslim Jordanian armies destroyed all of the synagogues in the Old City of Jerusalem and refused access to Jews who wanted to pray at the Western Wall.  The Jewish Israeli government has shown respect to all three faiths and allowed freedom of access to all sites.  The only religion not having free access to all of their holy sites is the Jewish faith, whose believers can not pray on top of the Muslim-controlled Temple Mount.
It is time for international powers to recognize the peace and religious freedom that Israeli governance has maintained and stop attempts to delegitimize their rule over the city. As a Christian organization, the ICEJ applauds the Israeli government for our freedom of worship and access to holy sites.
For students of the Scriptures it is not surprising that the mention of the name Jerusalem draws such a lightning rod of controversy; it is predicted. Zechariah 12 even contains dire warnings of the consequences of this type of international opposition to Jerusalem and pursuit to take control of the city—a warning the nations should certainly heed:
"And it will be on that day that I will set Jerusalem as a weighty stone to all the peoples. All who carry it will surely gash themselves, and all the nations of the land will be gathered against it" (Zech. 12:3, MEV).

Is The World Turning Its Back on Israel in Fulfillment of Prophecy? - TROY ANDERSON CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Is The World Turning Its Back on Israel in Fulfillment of Prophecy?

Join us on our new podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

As the world turns against Israel, Chosen People Ministries President Mitch Glaser is calling on Christians to speak out against the eruption of violence, efforts to weaken the nation's sovereignty and other disturbing developments in the "apple of His eye."
Glaser's request comes amid a "wave of terror" in Israel that has left more than 110 people wounded and 10 killed, according to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The recent series of attacks against Israelis is the "direct result of incitement by radical Islamist and terrorist elements, calling on Palestinian youth to murder Jews," Israeli officials say.
"We need to stand up and say it's immoral for people to murder and maim innocent individuals," Glaser says. "What rationale can anybody have for killing a toddler? We need to raise our voices, affirm what we believe about Israel and ask our government to declare that the current violence is wrong and should be stopped."
In an effort to stop the violence, Glaser is asking believers to sign a petition to urge U.S. Secretary of State Kerry to help put a stop to the violence against Israelis. The petition, available at everystateforisrael.com, urges Kerry to demand that the Palestinian Authority do everything in its power to "stop these random acts of personal terrorism against Israeli citizens." It also asks the U.S. government to put a stop to the hundreds of millions of dollars in aid that is currently being sent to the Palestinian Authority.
"People are talking about this as the beginning of the Third Intifada," Glaser says. "We are definitely not there yet, but if everybody is not careful, it could erupt."
The world, it seems, has largely turned against Israel in recent years, biblical experts say, pointing to the dangerous Iranian nuclear deal, the push for a United Nations' vote to create the Palestinian state, worsening anti-Semitism and now a wave of terrorist attacks that began on the Temple Mount in east Jerusalem.
In recent weeks, dozens of Israelis have been deliberately run over, shot, stabbed and hacked to death. In large part, this is because Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas "has joined ISIS and Hamas in claiming that Israel threatens the al-Aqsa mosque," Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday in a meeting with U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
The rise in attacks against Israeli citizens began last month following rumors that Israel was planning to take over the Temple Mount. Recently, the Palestinian Authority submitted a resolution to the U.N. seeking to claim the Western Wall as a Muslim holy site. The proposal refers to Jerusalem as "the occupied capital of Palestine."
"Israel totally rejects the shameful resolution on 'Occupied Palestine' adopted (Wednesday) at the plenary of the 197th Session of UNESCO's Executive Board," an Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson said. "The resolution aims to transform the Israeli-Palestinian conflict into a religious confrontation and its adoption is a disgrace for UNESCO's Executive Board. The Executive Board has joined the pyromaniacs seeking to set fire to the most sensitive sites to humankind."
This convergence in events, Glaser says, could be signs of the beginning of fulfillment of Zechariah 12:3, a biblical passage that foretells how all nations will turn against Israel in the last days: "And it will be on that day that I will set Jerusalem as a weighty stone to all the peoples. All who carry it will surely gash themselves, and all the nations of the land will be gathered against it."
Zechariah 12:9 indicates Jesus Christ will return at some point to "save His people and destroy the enemies of Israel," Glaser says.
"We understand that has not yet been fulfilled, but it will be fulfilled and probably today we are beginning to see the fulfillment," Glaser says. "Clearly, the Bible says Israel will become a nation, the Jewish people will be back in the land, which has already happened, enemies will surround Israel and the Lord will return to conquer those nations and save Israel. So, yeah, I think it's right in front of our face."
Sid Roth, host of It's Supernatural!, says he's preached from these same Scriptures for 35 years.
"I know I will be alive to witness three events," Roth says. "First will be the violent anti-Semitism against Jews worldwide. Second, this will trigger a massive return of the Jewish people to Israel as the Scriptures predicted. Third, the greatest spiritual awakening in history will occur in Israel, including creative miracles the world has never seen.
"This, in turn, will spark the greatest Gentile revival in history. Israel will survive, but I am concerned for the nations that are trying to divide the land of Israel. Joel 3 says God's end-time judgment on the nations will be for 'dividing up His land!'"
Rabbi Jonathan Cahn, the New York Times best-selling author of The Harbinger and The Mystery of the Shemitah, says end-time prophecy presents a scenario in which the "entire world is focused on Jerusalem, and is set against the nation of Israel."
"The fact that 2,000 years later, the world is overwhelmingly set against Israel and ultimately focused on the issue of Jerusalem is amazing," Cahn says. "The issue of Palestine, which threatens to surface at the United Nations, will only increase the world's pressure being placed on Israel.
"Israel is right now experiencing a massive wave of violence within its borders. The situation is volatile. This wave of violence began in September when fighting broke out on the Temple Mount. The day it all began was Sept. 13, Elul 29, the day of the Shemitah, a Hebrew word that can be translated as 'the shaking.'"
Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries and author of Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs, says political leaders are blinded to the real issues regarding Jerusalem—helping explain why there will not be peace until the Messiah comes.
"The big issue is truly a religious one," Biltz says. "As more people realize this, the greater the turmoil will be. Prophecy says the Messiah will reign from Jerusalem, as it will be the place of His throne, and Jerusalem will be the capital of the world. The nations are driven like madmen with rabies against all that is godly. Jerusalem is to be a light to the nations and the nations will have none of it."
Concerning Jerusalem, the Bible says in Zechariah 2:8, "For thus says the Lord of Hosts: He has sent Me after glory to the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye."
"All the nations trying to divide Jerusalem and delegitimize Israel's sovereignty are poking God in the eye," Biltz says. "God will shake His hand over them in judgment so the remnant of these nations may be joined to Him and His people Israel. When the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel is aroused, it is time to take heed."

Jerusalem Inspiration

Throughout the book of Joshua, the Children of Israel are told “to be strong” and “to be courageous.” It is significant that this command applies to both spiritual tasks, such as observing the entire Torah of Moses, and to physical tasks, such as fighting battles in the Land of Israel. A complete national life requires both spiritual and physical strength. In today’s Israeli army, there are many soldiers who exemplify this through their devotion to both Torah study and to military service. These students and graduates of Zionist seminaries are both courageous soldiers and Torah scholars, and serve as role models for all. Today, these righteous soldiers are standing between the people of Israel and violent terrorists who want to eradicate the Jewish State. American Friends of LIBI gives IDF soldiers the support, assistance, and tools they need to defend their nation. Help strengthen Israel's first line of defense against terror - the IDF!

World Turning Against Jerusalem in Fulfillment of Biblical Prophecy

“And it shall come to pass on that day that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all peoples; all who bear it shall be gashed, and all the nations of the earth shall gather against it.” (Zechariah 12:3)
As seen through multiple recent events, the nations of the world are increasing their efforts to weaken or remove Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem. Is this a fulfillment of Zechariah 12:3’s prophecy that, at the End of Days, the nations of the earth will gather against Jerusalem?
In the 1920s, the Muslims began calling the Kotel (Western Wall) the Al-Buraq Wall and the Kotel Plaza the Buraq Plaza. According to Muslim tradition, Al-Buraq was a horse with wings that carried Muhammad back and forth between Mecca and Jerusalem.
Historically, the Kotel is a part of the outer, western retaining wall of the Second Holy Temple that was destroyed in the year 70 CE. It has been sacred to Jews and Christians for 2,000 years. The millenia-long holiness of the Kotel derives from its association with the Temple Mount, where the two previous Holy Temples stood.
Recently, the Palestinian Authority, sponsored by six Arab states, submitted a resolution to the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) seeking to claim the Kotel as a Muslim holy site, wresting the Kotel from the Jewish nation and claiming it as its own. In the proposal, the PA refers to Jerusalem as “the occupied capital of Palestine.”
Israel’s Foreign Ministry vowed to fight the resolution, saying that it “is a clear endeavor to distort history, in order to erase the connection between the Jewish people and its holiest site, and to create a false reality.”
Do you agree the Jewish people have a Biblical right to Jerusalem?
Riyad Mansour, the PA envoy to the UN, has also asked the UN Security Council to step in and assist Palestinian Arabs. Speaking to reporters after a Security Council meeting on Friday, October 16, painting Israel as the aggressors in the current wave of Islamic terrorism in Israel, Mansour said, “The situation warrants providing protection for our people in the occupied territory starting in the Old City of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa mosque.”  In this statement, Mansour clearly refers to the entire Old City of Jerusalem as “occupied territory”.
In response to Mansour’s claims that his people are being threatened by Israel, the French newspaper Le Figaro reported on Saturday that France is drafting a proposal to station international troops on the Temple Mount. Israel’s UN representative Danny Danon said that Israel will never agree to allow an international force to occupy the site of the two Biblical temples.
International involvement in the status of Jerusalem is also coming from the US and the EU. Current US engagement is evidenced by US Secretary of State John Kerry’s efforts to clarify the meaning of the “status quo” on the Temple Mount through a series of meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Jordan’s King Abdullah and PA President Mahmoud Abbas.

The European Union also has a hand in attempting to clarify the status of the Jewish and Muslim presence on the Temple Mount, as EU Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini is set to meet with Netanyahu in Berlin later this week about the issue.
Scholar, author and End Times expert Rabbi Pinchas Winston believes that there is a great spiritual significance of the tug-of-war over Jerusalem.
“If you look at a map of Europe, Asia, and Africa, it is amazing that tiny little Israel is like the hinge pin that holds them all together. It really looks like the center of the world, and Jerusalem is its center,” he told Breaking Israel News. “Kabbalistically [according to Judaism’s mystical tradition], Jerusalem is even the center of the Universe, because that is where the light of God descends to the world before being shared with the rest of mankind.
“This is why so many nations and religions cherish and demand the holy city, even if they are not conscious of this. As every parent knows, little is more ‘burdensome’ than when several children desperately want the same thing,” he explained.
“When it comes to Jerusalem, how much so is this true when the sides are even prepared to kill for it, ‘forcing’ the world to have to deal with the issue when they’d rather be focused elsewhere?”

What Does it Mean to Bless Israel?

What Does it Mean to Bless Israel?

Do you know what it really means to bless Israel?

Standing With Israel
In the last days, God will gather the nations back to Himself and establish a holy hill where the nations will go to Jerusalem.
Nations have had the right and privilege over hundreds of years to make choices that govern their destiny. Many of these choices have led to bloodshed, exploitation and disregard for God's Laws.
Very soon however, Jesus Christ will rule these very same nations with an Iron Scepter as He rightly reclaims them as His own and brings the earth to a period of peace never before known.
Those choices, whether right or wrong, shall yield the rewards set by King Jesus. One of the most important choices that face nations today and the one that can change their fate is regarding the blessing of Israel.
Do you wonder why so much of the news you read lately is centered on Israel? It seems lately that Israel has its hands tied whether it's land settlements in Jerusalem, the Palestinian Peace Process, and more.
The Bible states in the last days, Jerusalem will become a burdensome stone.
Zechariah 12:3 states "And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people; All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces; though all the people of the Earth be gathered together against it."
God is saying to the nations that you should expect this. God also says that Jerusalem will become an issue in the last days that will affect everyone. The peace process that you are hearing has far reaching effect that will impact every nation.
What can you do today Africa that keeps you in God's grace that is so necessary in these times.
You can choose to make right choices that bless your men, women, and children. Or you can choose to make bad choices.
What happens when you make bad choices is seen in the Book of Hosea.
"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children" (Hosea 4:6).
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).
"Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!" declares the Lord. Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: "You have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply. I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares The Lord" (Jeremiah 23:1-4).
The Lord however is gracious, slow to anger, and compassionate.
Let us examine the right choice a nation can make that can bless her people.
Ezekiel 34:26 says of the nations that will bless Israel, "I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers. There will be showers of blessing."
God is saying that if you bless Israel, I will bless you. He that curses Israel I will curse. However many people do not understand that blessing Israel means blessing God Himself. Therefore to go against Israel, known as The Apple of God's Eye, is to go against God Himself.
There is a line that is being increasingly drawn in the sand regarding morality versus immorality; good and evil; righteousness and unrighteousness.
The issue is, does Africa want to be blessed or not.
The nations of the world including Uganda have entered into a valley of decision: Will they or won't they support Israel. Israel is known as the light to the nations and that light is being felt right now.
The question is not should I bless Israel but rather how much.
The series of lessons will teach churches to how to become a source of blessing to Israel. These lessons are written by a Messianic Jewish Minister who carries the light of Yeshua—Jesus Christ.
What does it mean to bless Israel? When we are blessing Israel, we are really saying to God Almighty that He alone is the God of Abraham, Jacob, and Isaac. There is only one God. The very name Jehovah means Jealous.
Ron Arnow is president of Messianic Media and Broadcasting and Bless Israel Network.
