lyrics:
--
I trust in Your mercy
My heart rejoices, My heart rejoices
In Your salvation
I will sing to the Lord,
For He has been good to me
I will sing the Lord’s praise
Oh, that out of Zion would come
Salvation for Israel, salvation for Israel
When the Lord restores His people,
Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad
I will sing to the Lord!

Back in 2002, when I was with Derek Prince Ministries as the Director of Finance and Operations, my good wife Laurie and I had the great opportunity to travel to China on an international outreach. Sponsored by the DPM-CHin office, led by the Director, Brit Ross Paterson, about 10 of us from the USA and the UK met in Hong Kong. From there we carried into the mainland, using plane carry-on bags, Chinese Mandarin Bibles and Derek Prince books which had been translated into Chinese also. We passed them on to members of the underground church whom we met in secret.
On the long train rides from the coastal city to Beijing, and back again, I had my portable CD player going much of the time (plenty of batteries!) It was 22-hour ride each way on the train, so there was plenty of listening time. Along with many other worship songs, I had in my CD holder Integrity Music's By Your Side, with the song "You Said" included. I had not heard this worship heart cry before, but when I did, I had it playing over and over and over again. I wrote in my daily journal how the Lord was breaking my heart for the nations. Truly it had an impact on my Christian worldwide view.
As you listen now, hear the Lord's heart for the people of all the nations, and let Him fill your heart with His love. May you know even more this day His heart-cry for salvation to come to these. I pray that together we will do our part in impacting the world with the Gospel of the truth. "Ask and I'll give the nations to you Oh Lord, that's the cry of my heart. Distant shores and the islands will see Your light, as it rises on us."

From Sydney's Hillsong Chapel, Hillsong performs the powerful modern hymn "His Glory Appears." The song glorifies Christ while picturing his wondrous Second Coming: "And His glory appears like the light from the sun."

Yesterday on Monday, August 21, between 2 pm - 2:45 pm in Charlotte, North Carolina where I live and work, I experienced the "Great American Eclipse" as it was called here. We were not directly under the path of the moon as it crossed between earth and the sun, but we did see over 97% of the sun blocked by the moon during this time. The 95F temperature cooled at least 5 degrees during the peak of the eclipse. But what impressed me the most was that even with less than 10% of its rays reaching our portion of this planet during this time, it still seemed like full daylight! As I told Laurie later, if you didn't know an eclipse was occurring, you may have thought just a cloud was passing overhead.
As I looked through my Canon PowerShot camera while using the special glasses for the event, the Lord kept impressing upon me that yet when only a small portion of His light gets through the darkness, He still fully lights up the world! His immense glory cannot be hidden or kept from bringing the word of salvation and life to those He loves; these that are in all the nations.
As He continues to call the people to repentance, my heart is that many will "see" and hear His calling forth their names to come to Him. We, as part of His body, are called to be an extension of His arms of love. We are also to be the lights in the darkness around us, which will draw all men and women unto Him.
Be encouraged on the job today, as you are a light, just by your presence and the aroma of the Holy Spirit working through you. People are watching, listening and will respond in due time.

The Great American Eclipse, a sign to America about its need for God, still gave off much sunlight even as 90% of the sun was blocked by the moon over Charlotte, North Carolina at 2:40 pm on Aug. 21, 2017.
This is an example of the same for believers, working in the darkness among those on the job or in their schools.

Years ago, when I was a backup singer on a worship team, I would be concentrating so much on singing the right part that I would sometimes forget I was meant to be worshipping. It's easy for a music teacher and a perfectionist to get focused on harmonies and pitch. One day I was singing away and heard the Holy Spirit say, "Who are you singing to?"
"You, Lord," I answered. But then I realized I was singing, "I love You," with my mouth but not with my heart. I absolutely loved Him in my heart, so that wasn't the problem, but I was having a conversation with Him without being conscious of what I was saying. I made a decision at that moment never to do that again. I told the Lord I never wanted to sing another worship song without being aware of to whom I was singing, the sincerity of my words, and the reality of His presence.
Imagine what that would be like with my husband. "Um, yeah, you're awesome, Tom," as I look around and occupy myself with other things. "Really great ... I appreciate you so much," while I yawn and check my e-mail. That's a bit strange, isn't it? It doesn't demonstrate sincerity or a desire for connection. That's what happens when we think we are worshipping but don't focus on God. I think that especially happens with the Holy Spirit, who can sometimes seem like the mysterious, forgotten member of the Trinity. The Father and Son can seem easier to relate to. We have natural fathers and sons in this world, so the concepts of God the Father and God the Son make sense to us. But what about the Holy Spirit? He loves our attention too, and He very often doesn't receive it.
I don't want to grieve the Holy Spirit in any way. I know He doesn't take offense easily; that's a wonderful thing about God. "God is love," and love is not easily offended (1 John 4:8; 1 Cor. 13:5). The Holy Spirit is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Even when I have at times drifted from truth, He remained constant and kind. He is patient and understanding. He doesn't withdraw His love. We can worship by faith, believing that as we come to worship, He is always so happy to be engaging with us. Because Jesus has made us clean and pure by His blood, we can always approach the throne of grace.
I want my relationship with the Holy Spirit to be about much more than coexisting. I don't want to just mentally acknowledge His presence. I want deep, close companionship; the fullness of His power and love; His guidance and direction; His comfort and counsel; and so much more. I want to know and be deeply, passionately in love with the One who knows and is deeply, passionately in love with me. I want to do life with Him to fulfill every inch of my destiny and see His kingdom come on earth just as it is in heaven.
Do you feel the same way? You wouldn't be reading this if you didn't want these things too. This is what your heart was made for and what you've been longing for. The wonderful news is that the Holy Spirit wants to help you with everything. He wants to partner with you even more than you want to partner with Him. He wants your destiny in Him to be thoroughly, gloriously fulfilled.
The Holy Spirit wants to speak to your heart. He wants to encourage you, and He wants to refresh you. He wants to supernaturally expand your capacity to receive His love and demonstrate it to others. He wants you to move in His power. He wants to take you higher and higher into absolute, overwhelming joy. There is fullness of joy in His presence, and that's where you get to stand—you and Him together. A life surrendered to Him will change the world forever. Are you ready?

Zschech started on television at the age of 10, as part of an Australian children's show, Happy Go Round.[3] When she was 13, her parents divorced[4] and the emotional stress of being on television and her parents' divorce resulted in her having bulimia for about four years.[5]
In 1980, when Zschech was 15, her father rededicated his life to Christ and began taking her to church, where she also became a committed Christian and met her future husband, Mark Zschech.[6] When they married, her husband suggested that they move from Brisbane to Sydney, which was confirmed at a small church they were visiting one Sunday when the guest speaker said in the middle of his sermon, "This doesn't happen to me very often, but whatever it is you two prayed last night, God says do it now."[7] They began attending Hills Christian Life Centre, which would become Hillsong Church.
Zschech sang jingles for a number of international companies including McDonald's, KFC and Coca-Cola,[8] until she eventually joined the staff of Hillsong Church after penning "Shout to the Lord".[6] She released a vinyl album in 1987 called "Make the Choice" and a cassette album in 1993 called Pearls & Gold.[9]
Zschech and her husband have three daughters, Amy, Chloe and Zoe. In 2000 she had a miscarriage after 12 weeks.[10]
Shout to the Lord was nominated as Album of the Year for the 1997 Dove Awards and was nominated as Song of the Year for the 1998 Dove Awards. In 2000, Zschech received a Dove Award nomination for Songwriter of the Year and received the International Award for influence in praise and worship.
In 2003, Zschech released her first official solo album, Kiss of Heaven. Change Your World followed in 2005. She has since released two albums, in 2011, called Simply Darlene and You Are Love. In addition to writing songs, she has written five books: Worship (1996), Extravagant Worship (2002), The Kiss of Heaven (2003), The Great Generational Transition (2009) and Revealing Jesus: A 365-Day Devotional (2013).
On 11 December 2013, Zschech was diagnosed with breast cancer.[11] In a blog dated 30 November 2014, she wrote that she has been healed of cancer, which her doctor termed "quite miraculous".[12]
Zschech was the worship pastor of Hillsong Church from 1996 to 2007, during which time she served as producer, vocal producer or executive producer for more than 20 albums under the Hillsong Music label and wrote more than 80 published worship songs.[13] Under Zschech's leadership, the album People Just Like Us (1994) was the first Christian album in Australia to go Gold as well as the first to go Platinum[14] and the album For All You've Done (2004) debuted at #1 on the Australian Record Industry Association album charts.[15] Zschech explained Hillsong Music's stance in her book Extravagant Worship in a prayer: "Father, let them quickly get their eyes off of us. We just want to point them to you, God, because you are the Author of truth. You are the only One who is to be praised."[14]
Zschech stepped down as worship pastor in 2007, but continued to write songs for Hillsong and to serve as senior worship leader on their live albums. Reuben Morgan was appointed Hillsong worship pastor in 2008.
In January 2011, Zschech and her husband, Mark, became senior pastors at Church Unlimited, later renamed Hope Unlimited Church, in Charmhaven on the Central Coast.[16]HopeUC hosts an annual relationships conference, "The Living Room", that focuses on all aspects of relationships.[citation needed]
In April 2004, the Zschech family visited Rwanda, Africa and were inspired to launch "Hope Rwanda: 100 Days of Hope", a faith-based global initiative that provided hygiene options and education for the citizens of Rwanda, which eventually morphed into Hope Global.[17] According to the official website, Hope Global currently exists to "offer practical solutions to countries devastated by war, genocide, and poverty."[18] It has major centres in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, and Cambodia, runs long-term development projects, such as Hope Education and the Village of Hope, and has hosted Parramatta Eels trips to Rwanda with CEO Paul Osborne.
Zschech composed "Shout to the Lord" in 1993 and it has become one of the most well-known modern worship songs, being sung by an estimated 25-30 million churchgoers every Sunday since the song's release.[19] She wrote the song during a time of personal struggle.[20] When she presented it to Hillsong's then-worship pastor, Geoff Bullock, she was so embarrassed that she requested he face away from her as she played and sang.[20]
"Shout to the Lord" was first recorded on People Just Like Us and has appeared on more than 200 different albums by numerous artists in multiple languages. It is also the title track for the first live album co-produced with Integrity Music featuring Zschech as a worship leader. It was Integrity Music's first album to feature a female worship leader. The album was nominated for the 1997 Dove Awards "Praise & Worship Album of the Year" at the Gospel Music Awards. The song was nominated in the 1998 Dove Awards "Song of the Year" category. It has been performed for the Pope at the Vatican and for the President of the United States.[21]
On the global impact of "Shout to the Lord", Zschech said, "I can't take any credit for its impact. God decided to put his blessing on this song."[6]
