Front-page NYT story examines ISIS prophecies about an apocalyptic showdown in Syrian town of Dabiq. Story looks ripped from THE FIRST HOSTAGE, my forthcoming novel about a showdown over Dabiq. by Joel Rosenberg Dec. 8, 2015

 (Dallas, Texas) -- Readers of this column know that I have been trying to draw the attention ofleaders in Washington and Jerusalem, U.S. presidential candidates, journalists,Evangelical leaders, and the American people more broadly to the emerging threat of what I call "Apocalyptic Islam" of both the Shia and Sunni varieties.

My last series of political thrillers -- The Twelfth Imam, The Tehran Initiative and Damascus Countdown -- imagined a scenario in which Iran's Shia Muslim leaders, driven by their genocidal belief in End Times Islamic prophecies, built an arsenal of nuclear weapons and set into motion a plan to annihilate Israel and the United States.

Now, my latest political thriller series -- The Third Target (which was published in January 2015), and my forthcoming novel, The First Hostage (which releasesDecember 29th) -- imagines a scenario in which the leaders of ISIS are driven by a Sunni version of genocidal End Times prophecies to capture chemical weapons in Syria and launch a series of horrific attacks against U.S., Israeli, and Sunni Arab leaders. At the heart of the series is a fictional New York Times reporter trying to understand what Apocalyptic Islam is and get ahead of the coming attacks.

As The First Hostage unfolds, ISIS leaders are trying feverishly to draw the U.S. and the Western powers ("the forces of Rome") into a bloody ground war in Syria. Why? In order to fulfill Islamic prophecies about an apocalyptic End Times battle in an obscure Syrian town called Dabiq and establish a global Islamic kingdom or caliphate.

No matter how many speeches I've delivered, or columns and blogs and interviews I've given, it's been challenging, to say the least, to get leaders to focus on the genocidal intentions of our enemies and the Islamic eschatology that is driving them.

That said, I'm encouraged by three recent developments:

The first was the publication in August of an absolutely excellent non-fiction book called,The ISIS Apocalypse: The History, Strategy, and Doomsday Vision of the Islamic State. It was written by a Brookings Institution scholar, Dr. Will McCants. It is extremely well-written and carefully sourced and explains the significance of these Islamic prophecies, including those concerning Dabiq. I have already highly recommend it to various presidential candidates and Members of the House and Senate, and I hope it is widely read among the general public, as well.

The second is that two GOP presidential candidates -- Sen. Marco Rubio and Sen. Rick Santorum -- are speaking out clearly about the threat not just of Radical Islam but specifically of Apocalyptic Islam, including at the recent conference organized by the Republican Jewish Coalition. (to read more, click here) My hope that other candidates and current office-holders, military leaders and intelligence experts will start studying and publicly discussing this matter.

The third source of encouragement -- and amazement -- is a front-page story in theNew York Times this morning, headlined, "U.S. Strategy Seeks To Avoid ISIS Prophecy." I commend it to your attention. Indeed, in reading the article, it was a bit eerie. After all, a real-life New York Times reporter is trying to understand Apocalyptic Islam and is reporting about a possible U.S. showdown with ISIS in the Syrian town of Dabiq, something ripped right out of my novels. Unreal.

Here are a few excerpts:

As the debate on how best to contain the Islamic State continues to rage in Western capitals, the militants themselves have made one point patently clear: They want the United States and its allies to be dragged into a ground war.

In fact, when the United States first invaded Iraq, one of the most enthusiastic proponents of the move was the man who founded the terrorist cell that would one day become the Islamic State, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. He excitedly called the Americans’ 2003 intervention “the Blessed Invasion.”

  

His reaction — ignored by some, and dismissed as rhetoric by others — points to one of the core beliefs motivating the terrorist group now holding large stretches of Iraq and Syria: The group bases its ideology on prophetic texts stating that Islam will be victorious after an apocalyptic battle to be set off once Western armies come to the region.

Should that invasion happen, the Islamic State not only would be able to declare its prophecy fulfilled, but could also turn the occurrence into a new recruiting drive at the very moment the terrorist group appears to be losing volunteers....

The Islamic State’s propaganda is rife with references to apocalyptic prophecy about the last great battle that sets the stage for the end times. Terrorism experts say it has become a powerful recruiting tool for the group, also known as ISIS or ISIL, which sells potential fighters on the promise that joining will give them the most direct chance to battle Western interests and will bring ancient Islamic prophecies to fruition.

The specific scripture they are referring to describes a battle in Dabiq as well as in al-Amaq, small towns that still exist in northern Syria. The countdown to the apocalypse begins once the “Romans” — a term that militants have now conveniently expanded to include Americans and their allies — set foot in Dabiq...

Fascinating. I'll do my best to keep you posted as this drama unfolds....

Get ready to cross over into a new time in which things will not go the way they did in the past.

December is going to be a time of surprises and the release of new gifts and revelation. It is going to look strange at times as we are in the midst of a major transition.

Unexpected blessings and deeper insight and revelation are coming. This is a time to pull back and not get too busy. Take time to listen and write down what God is speaking right now. Expect to hear God's voice and to have prophetic dreams between Christmas and the New Year.

The first part of 2016 will start to ramp up and sudden turnarounds will begin to increase.

Expect sudden acceleration and advancement.

Last New Year's Eve

On December 31, 2014 I had a very powerful spiritual encounter. I literally heard audible cries of people who have been wounded by uncaring Christians and leaders. The Lord told me, "Their cries have reached My ears and I must respond."

After this, I began getting more revelation about the new move from God that is going to be for the outcasts and those who have been rejected by Christianity. This is going to start in 2016 with many people who are wounded warriors.

This new order of things is going to look and feel unusual and stretch your understanding of what is possible.

"But with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26b NIV

The Children of Promise

The spiritual atmosphere is full of expectation right now. Things are pregnant and ready for the birth of something new. But there is a moment of silence just before it happens.

You will need to pause from busyness to capture all that is happening as sometimes it might not be all that dramatic.

God is preparing the ones who have been in a season of obscurity to begin to come forward in 2016. 

For many people this has been a painful time of rejection and feeling that they missed God. These wounded warriors are similar to the "children of God" mentioned in Romans 8.

"I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed." Romans 8:18–19

Many people who are going to be part of this next movement have been rejected and wounded and have been in a seven-year wilderness season since 2008. But God has hidden them for this very time to come forward. As this is happening, the earth itself is experiencing birth pains and turmoil.

"We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time." Romans 8:22

Look Back 9 Months Ago

Quite often God will speak to us or release something and it takes time to germinate and form. It is similar to the way a baby comes 9 months after conception. In March 2015, nine months ago, spiritual invitations went out and the wounded warriors and hidden ones began to awaken.

Look back to what started to happen last March but may not have fully taken shape yet in your life. A major verdict happened over the spiritual lives of those who have been hidden and are being called to be part of this next move of God.

Next 9 Months

The next nine months, between December 2015 and September 2016, will be a strategic time of birthing the destiny of many who are called to the next level. Like childbirth, it is often painful and messy and you will be stretched in your understanding of what is possible.

The enemy will try to bring accusations and jealousy against those who are coming forward. You will be able to recognize those who are being promoted by their humility, love and honor.

It will be important for us all to keep in mind that as we cross into this new season we will need to, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past"(Isaiah 43:18).

A Prophetic Sign

I got these prophetic words last week and God spoke to me that as a sign of this new movement coming, a baby girl was born to Facebook CEO and billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan. On the week of Thanksgiving, their daughter Max Chan Zuckerberg was born.

The Zuckerbergs created a fund and pledged to give 99% of its $45 billion to charity to help find cures for diseases and to promote human equality. The Facebook CEO included a letter to his daughter in Tuesday's post. He wrote:

"Max, we love you and feel a great responsibility to leave the world a better place for you and all children. We wish you a life filled with the same love, hope and joy you give us. We can't wait to see what you bring to this world." (Read the full story here.)

The meaning of the name Max is the "greatest." We are about to see one of the greatest moves of God that will bring love, hope and joy to the world.

God moved on the Zuckerbergs to give their wealth to charity and it will indeed help starving people and fund the discovery of cures for diseases. God is moving to release finances into the world and into the Kingdom of God.

This is a time to have love, hope and joy!

The country is beginning to see how out of touch liberals are with reality. Knowing nothing about the cause of the California shootings the first thing they called for was tighter gun control. This is a problem- but it is NOT the issue with Islamic terror activity. Paris and California already have strict gun policies - none of which can stop criminals from assembling pipe bombs in their garage. The real issue is killers with weapons being recruited and activated by radical Islam through social media. Spiritual warfare is getting very tangible and practical. It actually does involve politics. Thats why we need to see things from a new perspective. These attacks are targeting countries that were once the cradle of Christian civilization. They should be Sheep Nations but instead have been evolving into a wierd hybrid moving in the direction of  Goat Nations. Moving from Christ to antiChrist. As Christians backed up from culture these nations evolved into secular strongholds that rejected their reformation roots and religion. Ironically into that spiritual vacuum a religion stepped in - Islam and its radical extremes. With radical disciples willing to become martyrs and seeking to see the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of their Caliphate, a powerful kingdom counterfeit now stalks the earth. Striking at planes, development centers, restaurants and music halls, nobody is safe. What I want you to see is that God is working all this together into a massive political and philosophic shift among faltering Sheep Nations and it will be an opportunity for the kingdom to recover lost territory and even expand - if we are ready! This is not the time to be asleep - which is why we meet in the Night Watch! IT STARTS WITH YOU "OCCUPYING' YOUR SPHERE God is bringing His kingdom presence and government into our personal lives and homes- tangibly.  It is like the ark that went into Obed-edoms house.  "The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and his entire household." (2 Sam 6:11) That's why I love doing these nightly mini webcasts and prayer sessions. If the devil empowers ISIS to recruit by means of social media, we can recruit and block the enemy by the same technology. We pray together and bind up the works of Hell. God wants your home occupied by His Spirit and then  expanded outwards to the sphere of your work in the seven mountains. Oben-Edom was really a prototype of the last days move of God. It was like Eden being restored and taking up residence in his house. Lets get more specific - the kingdom comes into pockets and places where two or more gather together to legislate the agenda of heaven into their sphere of stewardship. When saints come together in the same sphere they form a "micro church." As the culture gets more babylonian we are becoming like Daniels in Babylon. We are learning how to excercise our spiritual authority in the areas assigned to our stewardship by finding those who can enter agreement with us. In such places God says "there I am in the midst of them."  The blessing of Obed-Edom has entered  your house, church, family or business. The result? Like Daniel, we will end up at the kings gate...in close proximity to the Gates Of Influence that shape nations. Trust me...this is all biblical. It just has never been taught - till now.  DOING BUSINESS SUPERNATURALLY Last year I started reading about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and saw something different. This was a three generational family business story. These Hebrew patriarchs that were forming a Nation were not wilderness Prophets or temple Priests. They were merchants. he God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of  SUPERNATURAL BUSINESSMEN. They ran prosperous businesses and they took territory that eventually  FORMED A NATION! They were the Founding Fathers of Israel. With this set of glasses I reframed the way I saw Abraham. Taking nothing away from his journey of faith I could see a man who ran a supernatural business with seven income streams and 300 employees. GOD IS FINDING FATHERS (and MOTHERS) I heard the Lord speak once that He is in the business of "finding Fathers" who will be new "founding Fathers." I believe they will be men and women carrying the DNA of Abrahams gift for multiplication. I know two believers that are about to become Prime Ministers of emerging Sheep nations. They follow my teaching. These themes, supernatural business expansion and wealth creation, fatherhood, and family connect to the story of nations. In fact I would say that saving America involves a new generation of Patriarchs who are in the Marketplace like Abraham and sons, and in Government, like David.  America is in trouble. We need all these engines firing at the same time to save the Nation. You are alive at exactly the right time in history to play a decisive part. When Goliath taunted Israel God bypassed the spiritually dysfunctional King Saul and sent a young man from a family owned business. David slew the giant. He combined a slingshot and a harp to become a worshiping warrior who expanded the territory of Israel 300% larger than Saul ever did. David did his business supernaturally, connecting his warfare in the field to the presence of God, finding refuge and "rest" in the Tabernacle of David. In this secret place God "force multiplied" Davids strength and gave him divine strategies. LEARN THE ART OF DAVIDIC WARFARE It's time you and I learned this aspect of worship, prayer and strategy to take territory. It's Davidic warfare. The end time church is a restoration of the "Tabernacle Of David"! (Acts 15:16)  We need to combine these powerful ideas together. A divine "convergence" of things is upon us. The Government mountain has had the spirit of Saul for too long. Philistines are openly mocking and retaking ground once occupied by believers. It is time for God to send a deliverer. The spirit of Jezebel seeks to rob the inheritance of the United States. Gods answer is to send the Spirit of Elijah. It is already here but few discern its presence or operation. It comes to break Jezebels hold and protect the inheritance for your sons and daughters. Make no mistake. The continuing mismanagement of American debt will cripple the next generation and your sons and daughters will be slaves to that debt. They will inherit bondage. True Founding Fathers and Mothers are arising now. SUPERNATURAL BUSINESS MODELS New supernatural business models are also arising. There is a window open now for breakthrough. Heaven is opening up new classes. You can learn how to operate in a higher realm in administrating the kingdom in prayer, revelation, innovation  and favor. “Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, "Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!"

He who sits in the heavens laughs, the Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger and terrify them in His fury, saying, "But as for Me, I have installed My King upon Zion, My holy mountain." (Psalm 2:1-6 NASU)

Losing respect for a world leader and the office he sits in doesn’t typically happen overnight. But after seeing the manipulation, deceitfulness and vast amounts of resources spent on such wasteful agendas that have been pushed on our nation as truth, on a vast number of people, it took just a bit longer than that. It this case, losing respect for such a one actually took only about a year since that election day.

It amazes me how people can become so blind when they actively pursue their own comfort, pleasure or personal benefit. They tend to ignore the reality of the real world, and live as if the Walt Disney bubble surrounding them truly exists outside their own make believe story line.

And if by watching the same Peter Pan fairy movie, “and never wanting to grow up”, their concept of life continues on in complete unreality. Their blindness, occurring on the deadly path they had chosen, has now taken a once righteous nation down a dark and forbidden road.

Building such a kingdom will be shaken, as promised. It is a vain thing to despise the counsel of the Lord, and make up your own laws.

Taking a stand against the decrees of the Lord and against His Anointed, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, is not a smart thing to do. Declaring that you, o kings of the earth and the ruler of this nation, know more than what your Creator has made known to you in His written Word, has blinded the very eyes you claim you see clearly through. O what a foolish thing you do.

Personally I get rather angry when I hear those in lofty positions speak such high and mighty words, telling us of their plans and purposes, when knowing full well that within their heart lies deceit and pride. Believing that what they espouse and accomplish in this temporary life time period, in order to leave behind a legacy of “wowdom”, just won’t happen. The Lord sits in the heavens and laughs. He scoffs at them.

When one removes prayer from the schools and the Bible from the courtroom; when righteous declarations are replaced with ungodly spewing; when foundational respect for life is terminated along with the unborn beating heart, then we know that the time of man’s foolishness is quickly coming to an end.

Psalm 2 continues on, "I will surely tell of the decree of the Lord. He said to Me, 'You are My Son, today I have begotten You. 'Ask of Me, and I will surely give the nations as Your inheritance, and the very ends of the earth as Your possession.  'You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like earthenware.'"

Now therefore, O kings, show discernment; take warning, O judges of the earth. Worship the Lord with reverence and rejoice with trembling. Do homage to the Son, that He not become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath may soon be kindled. How blessed are all who take refuge in Him!” (Psalm 2:7-12 NASU)

The Almighty God will only allow so much before He then says it is enough. The rulers, kings, and judges of this world will never have the final say. The King, the Son of God - He will be the One who does have the final word. When that time comes, and He does speak forth from His heavenly throne, His rod of iron will put an end to the foolish and prideful hearts and minds of ungodly men. They best worship Him, rather than the ground they walk on.

We are blessed who take our refuge in the Savior. We are blessed if we heed His Words, and walk in His ways.

Judgement does come. Each will be held accountable for what he has done. The Lord laughs at those who think otherwise.
