Love For His People Update Nov. 9, 2017 - Jerusalem Connections, Steve Martin

Nov. 9, 2017

Greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina.

My last two Now Think On This messages were written of my experiences in Jerusalem, my favorite city in the world. It is amazing to see what the Living God of Israel is doing in the Land, and specifically in Jerusalem.

Love For His People, Inc. has been connecting with the good people of Israel since its formation in 2010, and today joins with ministries and friends in the North Carolina area to stand strong for Y'isra-el. Please read one of my last messages in the section below, and watch my latest Arms of Love video, speaking too of our strong love for the people and our Lord's purposes for Israel.

"Even as the Lord is bringing back His Jewish chosen ones in this hour, He also is connecting Christians (Gentiles, non-Jews) and Jews for His end-time purposes. From within nations, and around the world, the Lord, Adonai, is touching the hearts of men and women to come together, for several primary purposes - to bless and assist those who are returning to the Land; to stand in prayer, watching on the walls, for their safekeeping once established in Israel; and to proclaim among the nations, “We bless Israel and stand with His eternal plans of redemption.”

As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas, please consider a gift in your planned year-end giving to Love For His People, Inc. a 501(c)3 ministry. We are not a large organization like the big boys - having no paid staff, office building or vast marketing funds - but we do have a big heart and we do give direct support to families in Jerusalem, Pakistan, Nigeria and Northern Ireland on a monthly basis with your gifts. We also continue to send needed teaching books, educational items and precious gifts from the Holy Land to international pastors and those who also bless Israel in these nations.

Please use the DONATE button below, or on our website, Love For His People to contribute today.

'Tis a good day to bless the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach. Be blessed in your blessing others this season.

Ahava and shalom,

"Jerusalem" by Steve Martin
Jerusalem, my favorite city in the world. And I am not even a Jew. Imagine that.

I find it fascinating when American Jews ask me why I go to Jerusalem so much. I have made 15 trips from the USA since 1987 to the land of Israel. In these later years, I have tried to make it an annual event, as we are committed to doing this. Supporting Israel is especially the main objective for us, to keep a firm stand with them, through the work of Love For His People.

Why does a Gentile, goyim (Hebrew), former Roman Catholic, Evangelical, Pentecostal, Charismatic Christian, white Caucasian, Southern 63-year-old male from Cedar Falls, Iowa, born in Minnesota (any more descriptions I need to include?) want to go to Jerusalem so much?

Because those who live there are continually in the Lord’s heart (Jesus, Yeshua), and thus being a disciple and believer in Him, Jerusalem, and His People are also in my heart.

It was in Jerusalem where He came to earth, having been sent there from His Father and Holy Spirit; where He lived, was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. And from Jerusalem He then instructed His apostles, messengers, to take His Gospel, the Good News, to the ends of the earth, before He returns for the second time.

And thus this capitol, eternal city of Israel since the days of King David, is very important to the King of all kings, Who is my King too.

V’ahavta  וְאָהַבְתָּ   ‘…And you shall love…’
Hadassah from Jerusalem

Perspective - V'ahavta (...and you shall love...") - Hadassah from Jerusalem

When we first moved back to Israel, we had a small two-bedroom apartment. It was exactly what we wanted and needed at the time. There was a fig tree in our ‘yard’. We say ‘yard’ because it was really only the size of a small bedroom. There used to be an apple tree, but for some reason the landlord saw fit to remove it. That left a massive fig tree surrounded by dirt. Not a very useful area as in the winter it turned into mud and the summer it was full of bugs. So we decided to pave the area to make it more useful.

Having a fruit tree in ones’ yard is a mixed blessing. There is the romantic notion of trotting into the garden, bowl in hand, to pick the morning fare. (We are not especially fond of figs though). The reality is, there is dropped fruit everywhere including on the clean laundry. Dropped fruit means ants and bees and bugs and a funny smell if not cleaned up right away. This tree also had a branch that seemed to always swipe me in the head as I walked by!

We did not fully understand the ‘gift’ that had been given us. In looking in the Torah, we know that the fig is one of the 7 species of Israel. (Deuteronomy 8:8) There is also a wonderful promise that upon returning to the Land, we will ‘live in houses we did not build and eat from trees we did not plants’. That each of us will invite our neighbor to sit with us under our fig tree-- a picture of dwelling in peace. (Zechariah 3:10).

Avraham Saiden, the 60+ year old Jewish man from Iraq, was in his Ben Yehuda Street Judaica shop in Jerusalem, and needing help making a mobile phone connection to the USA. I just happened to be in his beautiful gift shop at that time.

What a great joy I experienced as a result of giving a helping hand, or in this case, making a good connection!

A. THE CONVENANT WITH ABRAHAM

"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you.” (Genesis 12:2)

The covenant with Abraham is of two levels. In some instances, God had resolved on what to do irrespective of Abram shortcomings. In other instances, He expected full obedience as a condition for Him to operate.

I pray that God will grant us power that we may never fail ourselves and fail God, in Jesus’ Name.

"So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed him, and lot went with him. Abraham was 75 years old when left Haran." (Genesis 12:4)

After the flood in Genesis 11, God wanted a new nation out of the entire world, so He graciously chose Abraham and lavished His irrevocable covenant on him. God graciously chose and decided to enter into covenant with Abraham, but God expected implicit obedience from him. After Abraham had had some tough experiences He introduced some signs, added some cultural approaches, including the inevitable exiles.

God came to enlarge His covenant. He introduced an obligation for him, which was circumcision. The Lord must be obeyed. He changed the names of the couple. He expected faith and obedience. Has He changed, as He speaks to us to obey Him?

Our world needs saving. The nations are in much turmoil, rage, anger, and lawlessness. Just keep watching the news and it is obvious that times are changing, and it is not changing for the good.

It is happening just as the prophets spoke; just as Jesus (Yeshua) Himself said in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 as to how it would come about. The signs are all around us, forth-telling those exact events which would take place before the Lamb of God returns as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, is the Messiah of Jews and Gentiles, for all who call upon His name for salvation.

All indications are that He is coming back soon. While time is yet with us, and there is light among the growing darkness, we must work with His Holy Spirit to spread the Good News. This is the news of His salvation, which is available to any and all who come to Him, for freedom from sin, death, destruction and all evil.

This salvation is found only in His saving Blood and through His sacrifice on the cross. He is so willing and loving to give His saving grace to all who call upon His Name. He alone is our salvation. His Name is SALVATION. Steve Martin, Author

THE KING SHOULD LEAD ISRAEL ARIGHT - PART ONE by Pastor Abel Oyewale Nigeria, West Africa

THE KING SHOULD LEAD ISRAEL ARIGHT
 - PART ONE
Pastor Abel Oyewale  Nigeria, West Africa

I. THE KINGS' DIVINE CALLING
 A. MUST BE GOD'S DISCIPLE
 B. MUST BE READY TO ASSIST OTHERS

I. THE KINGS' DIVINE CALLING ( Deuteronomy 17:14-20)

Jesus is the King of kings. The positions God puts us in are callings in His will and program. We must run to fulfill His eternal purpose. Anyone who uses his position to oppress OTHERS is on a collision course with God.  It is expected of us to honour God, bless the people and make disciples for Him in whatever position He places us. Do not use your calling against the caller or the followers. The day of reckoning is at hand.

A. MUST BE GOD'S DISCIPLE  (Deuteronomy 17:14-19)

"Be sure to appoint over you the king the Lord your God chooses. He must be from among your own brothers. Do not place a foreigner over you, one who is not a brother Israelite." (Deuteronomy)

God determines the end from the beginning. Nothing catches Him unawares. He pre-empted His peoples' desire for a king like the gentiles when they would finally settle in the Promised Land. He gave them prior instructions. They should not  appoint just anybody. Their king must:

1. Be God's own choice
2. Be an Israelite by birth
3. Be from among their own brothers
4. Never be a foreigner

Implication: Their king must be a follower of Yahweh who understands His mind and can communicate this to them. No leader can represent God to His people who is not a disciple of God himself. A leader who has been with Christ will definitely exhibit the character of Christ's holiness. True leaders are disciples who do have no flair for worldliness and materialism. God's word is a veritable tool for both Christian leaders and followers alike.

The problem the Church has today is with those who are not part of us  but are in our midst, and have risen within our ranks and files.

ARE YOU AN INFILTRATOR OR A DEFLECTOR ?

B.  MUST BE READY TO ASSIST OTHERS (Deuteronomy 17:20)

"And not consider himself better than his brothers and turn from the law to the right or to the left. Then he and his descendants will reign a long time over his kingdom in Israel." (Deut.17:20)

All people are equal! The king is expected to consider all his disciples as brethren and equals. In honour, he should consider his people first and not treat them as servants. Only then will he have the interest at heart to make the best out of them.

He must not consider himself above the people and the law, such that he would turn from the Lord. No one is above the law of God, whether the leader or the led. When the leader submits to the ultimate leadership of God, then he can lead others in the path of God.

The reverberating effect of the king's uprightness and faithfulness to God would springboard a lasting reign and sustainable peace. God is looking for leaders who are ready to cooperate with Him in the disciple-making process. A good disciple-maker must be caring, friendly, and assessable, with deep regard for the Word of God.

May our good God of Israel bless you all in Jesus Christ's Name.

Jennifer A. Miskov: "Position Yourself for the Incoming Revival" - THE ELIJAH LIST

Jennifer A. Miskov: "Position Yourself for the Incoming Revival"

THE ELIJAH LIST  Nov 9, 2017
Steve Shultz     From the desk of Steve Shultz:
We, at the Elijah List, will continue...and then continue some more...to bring you the most uplifting and encouraging prophetic words for the DAY we are in. "Why?" you might ask, as darkness and chaos seem to abound in these days!
AND that's exactly WHY we will continue bringing you the most edifying and true prophetic words for our day...because God's prophetic voice released into the atmosphere DECREES His word and His heart over the land.
Jennifer Miskov of Redding, CA shares an exciting word about how we can "position" ourselves for incoming revival. There are great keys full of wisdom here...so I would read this, print it out, pray over it and share with everyone you know.
Revival and Reformation are imminent as many trusted prophetic voices have been saying. Our job, as the Body, is to come into agreement as we also prepare and position ourselves for what God is doing!
Amen...enjoy! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

If we knew ahead of time that the Azusa Street Revival (1906) was coming, how would we prepare for it? What about the Welsh Revival, the Jesus People Movement, the Protestant Reformation, or the Great Awakening?
There's been prophecy after prophecy about another great awakening—a billion soul harvest and a third great wave of revival approaching. From my years of studying revival history, there are a few insights I wanted to share that I believe will help us all to position ourselves to catch the next wave and prepare for this incoming move of God.
1. Remain Open
"Steward, embrace and accept the gift God has entrusted you with. I urge you not to sacrifice the gift God has given you or sabotage the calling on your life because you're afraid to shine or you feel inadequate."
It is important to remain open and to realize that revival in our day might look different from what we expect. In the 1970s, many were not prepared for revival to come through the hippies in the Jesus People Movement. In the Azusa Street Revival in 1906, people began to speak in tongues, which was a newer manifestation in their day. Many who led the previous revivals were the first to criticize this new move of God because they didn't understand what was going on.
However, those who remained open and hungry for all God had for them, even if it looked different from what they expected, were able to embrace the new move of God in their day.
We need to be careful not to miss what God is doing because it comes in a different package than what we imagined. I want to encourage you not to throw out the baby with the bath water. Beautiful babies are born with a mess all around them. Don't be afraid of a mess. Keep your eyes on what God is doing, not on the counterfeits or on what He's not doing. If you don't understand what's happening, seek understanding and then yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit even if it feels uncomfortable.
In Matthew 14, Jesus came out to the disciples walking on the lake in the midst of a storm.
Their friend was standing right there in front of them but they mistook Him for a ghost because He came out of context and not how they expected Him to come. Don't let the storms distract you from seeing Jesus.
2. Keep Focused
When you do find Jesus in the midst of the whirlwinds surrounding new moves of God, keep your eyes fixed on Him no matter what's going on around Him. As we stay focused on the one thing, our heart will burn with greater passion and fire for Jesus than ever before (Psalm 27). The origin of the word focus is influenced by the Latin word used for fire. What we focus on shapes our lives and determines who we will become. (Photo via Pixabay)
When we focus on Jesus and on those things He has entrusted us within each season, this will help make us ready. It's also important to make sure we're not holding anything that's not ours to carry this season or else we won't have open arms to receive what God is bringing next. A great and regular prayer you can pray to stay in the fire of His love is, "God, send Your fire in every area of my life and burn away anything that is not of You for this season. Refine and bring to the surface the gold." It's important to steward holiness and a consecrated life because the pure in heart will see God (Matthew 5:8).
3. Stay Full of the Oil
God wants us to stay full of the oil. It's so important that we steward the Secret Place in our hearts and spend time deepening our relationship with Jesus so that when the time comes to enter into greater depths with Him, we are ready (Matthew 25).
We are living wells and it is important to steward, guard, protect, deepen and open that well. Wherever we go, out of our bellies will flow rivers of living water (John 7:37-38).
ElijahList Prophetic Resources
4. Invest in Family
Family houses the revival fire. Relationships are so important, which is why Jesus always referred to God as His Father. There was connection there.
Ministry and fruitfulness flow from intimacy with God and also from a place of being knit together with the family of God. When not just one person seeks first the Kingdom of God, but a community does this together, it expands our capacity to carry what God wants to release. Seeking Him first in and with family will take you places you could never go on your own, beyond your wildest dreams.
5. Choose Love
"We need to be careful not to miss what God is doing because it comes in a different package than what we imagined."
Carrie Judd Montgomery (1858-1946), a healing revivalist who founded some of the earliest healing homes in the nation including the Home of Peace in Oakland, CA (still there to this day), chose to embrace the new experience of speaking in tongues many associated with Baptism of the Holy Spirit during the Azusa Street Revival. She, in fact, encouraged her friends to have this same experience. When her friend, founder of Christian and Missionary Alliance, A.B. Simpson, did not speak in tongues like all of her new Pentecostal friends, she didn't cut him off or think of him as lesser. She maintained and continued to grow in friendship with him because she valued relationships more than debates about non-essentials. We can learn from her example to choose relationships over and above denominational ties and differences in manifestations. Love is the key (1 Corinthians 13).
Don't Be Afraid to Shine
I don't believe in a nameless faceless revival. While we want Jesus to be the name above all other names and for everyone to participate, God will appoint and anoint leaders to help lead this generation into the more. There was a Moses, a Joshua, a David, an Evan Roberts, a William J. Seymour and other leaders who played a significant part in partnering with God to lead their generation into all that He had for them.
I am saying this to encourage myself just as much as I am exhorting you. Don't be afraid to shine, to lead and to be a voice. If God has anointed you as a leader, then LEAD! If people are following you then you know you're a leader whether you want to admit it or not. Don't hesitate to step into the fullness of leadership God has called you to walk in out of fear that you will become prideful or steal God's glory. Trust in Him and trust yourself.
If God has appointed and anointed you, He will walk with you through the favor. True leaders are servants and walk in great humility. The more you are honored, the more crowns you will have to throw at the feet of Jesus. If your influence grows, what an incredible opportunity to use that influence to impact even more people for JESUS! (Photo via Pixabay)
Steward, embrace and accept the gift God has entrusted you with. I urge you not to sacrifice the gift God has given you or sabotage the calling on your life because you're afraid to shine or you feel inadequate. Don't lay down the gift that He gave you to use and steward for His glory. He has given you your unique gifts to serve your generation in humility and love. Embrace the gifts He's given you so that you can become all He's destined you to become and to lift His name higher.
I bless you to step into your rightful position in this generation and to lead with great love and humility, fixing your eyes upon Jesus always, and step out in great faith as the Spirit leads you. And finally, I exhort you by the power and the Blood of Jesus to rise up. This generation needs you to be all who you are called to be. Today may you:
"Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you..." (Isaiah 60:1-2) (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
