Those who stand with Israel, and particularly Jerusalem, will receive the promised blessings given to those who do so. Sharing this book, containing some of my experiences in Jerusalem, is a joy, and also a promise to always stand with Israel. Steve Martin

When one considers Jerusalem, your first thoughts may be of wonder – why are the nations so bent on telling its people what to do, how to do it, and when to do it? It is as if they are the supreme governors, rather than the Jews whose capital of Israel it is.

When the Jew, King David, first made Jerusalem his capital city, long before other nations and religions even existed, over 3,000 years ago, he was following in the commands of the Lord, God of Israel, to do so. Upon the same mountain that Abraham was about to sacrifice his son Isaac on Mount Moriah, King David established the city where the Lord would later have His temple built by David’s son King Solomon.

Now centuries later, prior to the time when the Third Temple will be built on the same location, the Jews have returned to their Promised Land, re-established their nation in 1948, and recaptured the entire city of Jerusalem, during the Six Day War in 1967. The times of the Gentiles rule over the city have drawn to an end. The time of the Jews will complete this end.

The year 5778 on the Jewish calendar, or 2018 on the Gregorian one, will see Israel celebrate its 70th year of modern-day statehood.

Having been victorious in the wars surrounding nations have begun against them, the Jewish people continue to be under the protection of the Lord Almighty, Who Himself will cause them to be the fulfillment of Scripture, and be in the Land that He will return to, as the Ruler of the Nations.

Those who stand with Israel, and particularly Jerusalem, will receive the promised blessings given to those who do so. The ones who oppose the purposes of God for this people and land will receive the eternal judgment He also promises He will hand out.

Sharing this book, containing some of my experiences in Jerusalem, is a joy, and also a promise to always stand with Israel.

Steve Martin

SUPPORTING ARAB CHRISTIANS
IN FINDING THEIR DESTINY

1217 - Jeries - wide

As featured in the December Maoz Israel Report

My name is Jeries Zibani, and I am from Kfar Yasif. I grew up in a home of Israeli Arab believers and accepted Yeshua as my Savior in 2012 at the Nahariya congregation.

After finishing high school, I enrolled in the Biotechnology studies at ORT Braude College of Engineering in Carmiel.

My father was in a serious accident last April and suffered multiple breaks in his leg. He has many pins and braces in his leg, but it has not yet healed, so he is unable to work. I am working in a cafe all week long, plus helping our assistant in my father's aluminum workshop for no salary, just to keep the business going which supports my family. This is my first year of college, so I am working hard to keep up my studies.

I turned to IstandwithIsrael for help to cover my tuition which was beyond what I could pay.

I am grateful for your help, which allows me to continue my university studies and fulfill God's calling on my life. I want to emphasize that without IstandwithIsrael, I would not have been able to continue my studies. Again, thank you for your generous donation, I will have a better future.

I thank the IstandwithIsrael donors. You are a great blessing to the body of Messiah in Israel—Jews and Arabs alike. May your reward be great.

Dr. Mike Evans, Friends of Zion Honor President Trump After Historic Jerusalem Announcement - Steve Strang

Strang Report, with Steve Strang

Dr. Mike Evans, Friends of Zion Honor President Trump After Historic Jerusalem Announcement

President Donald Trump was presented with the Friends of Zion's highest award in an Oval-Office ceremony this week.
Last week, President Donald Trump made history by declaring Jerusalem Israel's capital. In fulfilling one of his campaign promises, the proclamation brought joy to many in the evangelical community.

I happened to be in Washington, D.C., the day it happened and caught up with popular speaker and writer Lance Wallnau to discuss the significance of this event. You can listen to it on my Strang Report Podcast. (Lance is always one of my most popular podcast guests.)

The evangelical community showed its appreciation when the founder of the Friends of Zion Museum in Jerusalem, Dr. Mike Evans, presented President Trump with the Friends of Zion Award in a ceremony at the White House on Monday.

The Friends of Zion Award has been bestowed previously on world leaders like President George W. Bush, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Rosen Plevneliev, fourth president of Bulgaria. Dr. Evans—along with Shimon Peres, the ninth president of Israel and former chairman of the Friends of Zion Museum—presented these awards to honor their courageous support of the state of Israel and the Jewish people.

As you can see in the above photo, the event was attended by Vice President Pence, senior advisers Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump and faith leaders representing over 150 million Christians globally.

In a phone interview, Dr. Evans told me the award presentation had long been in the works.

"No president in history has ever built such an alliance for the state of Israel and the Jewish people, and no president has courageously stood up for the state of Israel on the global stage as you had, Mr. President," Dr. Evans declared at the ceremony. "President Trump's historic recognition of Jerusalem will secure his place in history as the first American president to take that step since the founding of the state of Israel in 1948."

Dr. Evans told the president he is "Cyrus," the Persian king raised up by God to let the Jews go back to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. It's a comparison Dr. Evans says ...

Do You Know What Is In The Tax Bill That Congress Is About To Pass? - Michael Snyder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Posted: 13 Dec 2017 Michael Snyder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

A conference committee has been merging the tax bills that were passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate, and even though we could still see some minor changes, it looks like the major parameters of the final bill have now been agreed upon.  The final bill will be known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and we are being told that it will be one of the largest tax cuts in U.S. history.  Unfortunately, the impact on our tax bills will be relatively minor, but at least it is a step in the right direction.  The following summary of the major provisions in the final bill comes from AOL
  • A less generous corporate rate cut: Republicans may cut the corporate rate to 21% from the current federal rate of 35%, instead of the 20% proposed in both the house and Senate bills. The new rate would start in 2018.
  • A lower top individual tax rate: The top individual bracket would drop to 37% instead of the 38.5% proposed in the Senate bill. It would still be down from the current 39.6%.
  • Keep the estate tax, but raise the threshold to qualify: Instead of phasing out the estate tax over time, like the House bill, the compromise bill would instead simply increase the threshold for an estate to qualify — from $5.6 million to around $11 million. That aligns with the Senate bill.
  • Repeal the corporate alternative minimum tax (AMT): The corporate AMT in the Senate bill was a sore spot for many companies because it would have negated the effects of many popular deductions and credits, like the research and development credit.
The reduction in the corporate tax rate is probably the most important provision in this tax overhaul package.  For decades, the United States has had a much higher corporate tax rate than much of the rest of the world, and this has given large corporations an incentive to locate operations elsewhere.  By making the corporate tax rate more competitive with everyone else around the globe, it is hoped that this will mean more good jobs for American workers.

This bill also reduces individual tax rates, but not by that much.  So you will notice a reduction in your tax bill, but don’t expect anything “game changing” in nature.

In addition, this bill will eliminate the Obamacare individual mandate.  This is something that should have been done back in January, and I am very happy that Congress is finally getting it done.

It is anticipated that both the House and the Senate will vote on the final version of this tax bill next week.

Sadly, it is not a slam dunk that this bill will actually get through the Senate.

Senator Bob Corker voted against the original Senate bill, and he may vote against this version too.

Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Susan Collins of Maine have also expressed reservations about this bill, and it is unclear how they will vote at this point.

And let us not forget that Senator John McCain’s health is rapidly failing.  Hopefully he would be present for any vote, but there is no guarantee that will happen.

In the end, Republicans can only lose two votes in the Senate, and so this is going to come down to the wire.

But President Trump is quite optimistic that this bill will succeed, and he says that it will “breathe new life into the American economy”
“Our tax cuts will break down — and they’ll break it down fast — all forms of government and all forms of government barriers and breathe new life into the American economy,” Trump said.
“They will unleash the American people, they will tear down the constraints on discovery, innovation and creation, and they will restore the hopes and dreams of the American family. Millions of middle class families will win under our plan.”
Of course even if this bill passes, our tax code will still be a complete and utter nightmare.
The tax code will still be over two million words, and the regulations will still be more than seven million words.  Our system will still greatly favor those that can hire accountants and tax attorneys to find every conceivable loophole possible, and it will still be a tremendous burden on the middle class.

If I am elected to Congress, I am going to fight to completely abolish the IRS and the income tax.  As I travel around Idaho and speak to groups, many are extremely receptive to these proposals, but they wonder how we would fund the government without an income tax.

Well, the truth is that the individual income tax only accounts for about 46 percent of all federal revenue, so we could definitely eliminate the individual income tax but we would also have to dramatically reduce the size of the federal government at the same time.
And we have a historical precedent for what this would look like.

Between 1872 and 1913 there was no federal income tax, and it was the best period of economic growth in U.S. history.

Of course the Democrats are not just going to roll over and allow us to cut the size of the federal government in half, so in the short-term we can focus on some other solutions.  A flat tax or a fair tax would both be far superior to the system that we have today, and there are some very good proposals already out there that just need to be implemented.

I once spent an entire year studying our tax code, and I still shudder when I think about those 12 months.  Our tax code is a complete and utter abomination, and while I applaud Congress for trying to “simplify” it, the truth is that this bill that is about to be passed won’t make that much of a difference.

We need to fundamentally change the way that we fund government in this nation, and that is why I want to completely abolish the income tax.  The system that we have right now is simply not fixable, and we should not pretend that any “tax reform bill” is going to solve our problems.

Michael Snyder is a Republican candidate for Congress in Idaho’s First Congressional District, and you can learn how you can get involved in the campaign on his official website. His new book entitled “Living A Life That Really Matters” is available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.com.

Christmas on Campus? More Universities Say 'Bah Humbug' - CBN News Gary Lane

Christmas on Campus? More Universities Say 'Bah Humbug' - CBN News Gary Lane  Dec. 13, 2017
'Tis the season to be jolly, for peace on earth and goodwill toward men, but not at Loyola University- Chicago.
Some students at the Catholic school are complaining that Christmas is receiving too much emphasis. They want other religious holidays like the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr to receive the same amount of attention.
And the holiday inclusion movement has spread to other college campuses this Christmas season.
The University of Tennessee has warned students to ensure that their holiday parties aren't really Christmas parties in disguise.

And some other universities have even banned nativity scenes and images of the crucifixion.
Hannah Scherlacher, Campus Reform Program Manager says it's all happening in the name of tolerance and inclusivity.
"But in reality it's just another attempt to  marginalize Christian students."
Also on campus this Christmas season?
Care Bears are now being provided by one university to sooth stressed-out students, while Make America Great Again hats are taboo at another university.
Find out more by watching Ms. Scherlacher's Set it Straight interview with Gary Lane.
