"Be not unaware, friend." New message from Steve Martin, Love For His People

 

Sept. 10, 2025 Greetings to you once again. Trials come. Along with it battles that try to keep us from moving forward, or throw us off balance. Last week Laurie broke her ankle. The second time in a two months the enemy has come at her, as we prepare for our three month volunteer work in Israel. But we go on! Read my new message below, "Be Not Unware". Be Not Unaware   “For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers and sisters, of our affliction which occurred in Asia, that we were burdened excessively, beyond our strength, so that we despaired even of life.” 2 Corinthians 1:8, NASB     Battles come. Be prepared. Prayed up. Read up. Connected.   The believer’s walk is not easy. Whoever sang the song, “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden” sometime back may have been reading what Paul went through in his trials. Or what we go through as we seek to walk in the calling the Lord has given us.   In this life we have trials. Promised in the Bible. And yet the best is coming. Eternal life. But as we look to heaven, and the reward that awaits us, we must continue to walk on earth in faith, in assurance of His leading us.   God’s Word says that first the natural comes, and then the spiritual. “However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.” 1 Cor. 15:46, NASB   Watch Israel and the Jewish people and you will know what I am talking about.   I often wondered about the verse that speaks about “abundant life” found in John 10:10. “The thief comes only in order to steal, kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, life in its fullest measure.” (Complete Jewish Bible)   At times here on earth I don’t find it so abundantly. In fact, there are days I long to be where He is, seated in heavenly places and already there. Be true – so do you.   But until our appointed mission, the one we have been apprehended for has been completed, the grace, strength, willingness, hopefulness found only in the Lord Jesus, must remain strong. For He alone is the Faithful One, the Giver of Life, the One Who carries us on unto the end.   Be not unaware that our enemy continues to war against us. In many trials, temptations, discouragements, and roadblocks. But in the Lord, we have the victory, and He will see us to the end.   Phil Wickman, contemporary worship leader, sings it well. What An Awesome God!   Believe it and keep walking on. In several of my previous 38 books, I wrote stories and chapters on Israel and our friends in the Land. Their lives, their courage, and the Ahava Adventures we have had, sharing our time with them in Eretz Israel.

In my desire to share these stories with you in a more concise manner, I have chosen the “best ones” and included in this book, “Love For His People – The Land and Friends in Israel”.

Having given almost 39 years so far (and this being my 39th book!) to loving and supporting the chosen people, as the Living God of Israel so ordained throughout the Bible of the Jewish people, it is proper and time.

When one considers Jerusalem, your first thoughts may be of wonder – why are the nations so bent on telling its people what to do, how to do it, and when to do it? It is as if they are the supreme governors, rather than the Jews, whose capital it is..

When the Jew, King David, first made Jerusalem his capital city, long before other nations and religions even existed, over 3,000 years ago, he was following in the commands of the Lord, God of Israel, to do so. Upon the same mountain that Abraham was about to sacrifice his son, Isaac, on Mount Moriah, King David established the city where the Lord would later have His temple built by David’s son, King Solomon.

Now, centuries later, prior to the time when the Third Temple will be built on the same location, the Jews have returned to their Promised Land, re-established their nation in 1948, and recaptured the entire city of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War in 1967. The times of the Gentiles' rule over the city have drawn to an end. The time of the Jews will complete this end.

Having been victorious in the wars surrounding nations have begun against them, the Jewish people continue to be under the protection of the Lord Almighty, Who Himself will cause them to be the fulfillment of Scripture, and be in the Land that He will return to, as the Ruler of the Nations.

Those who stand with Israel, and particularly Jerusalem, will receive the promised blessings given to those who do so. The ones who oppose the purposes of God for these people and this land will receive the eternal judgment He also promises He will hand out.

Sharing this book, containing some of my experiences in Jerusalem and all of Israel, is a joy, and also a promise to always stand with Israel.

May the good Lord, Yeshua HaMashiach, His Father, and the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) touch your heart as they have touched mine.

When the Lord calls each of us to “come, follow Me”, He does so because He has a great plan and purpose for each of our lives. He knows what our desires are, but most importantly, He is the one who puts those desires in our hearts.

As you seek Him, He will lead you to places you have never dreamed of, giving you missions you had never thought possible, and will direct your steps to complete the total picture He has for you, as you take your place in His Body among the peoples of the nations.

Each must hear the word to “Come”, and then listen to the word of the Lord to “Go.” May that be in your heart.
