The Hidden Prophetic Meaning of the Feast of Atonement - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

The Hidden Prophetic Meaning of the Feast of Atonement

Standing With Israel
The Feast of Atonement is the last of the 10 days of awe. This year, it begins Sept. 29 at sunset. It is also called Yom Kippur, or the Day of the Covering. In ancient times, the sins of the nation of Israel were covered by sacrifices on this day. This is described in Leviticus 16.
Two goats in particular were of special focus in this chapter. The first goat was called the Lord's goat. It was sacrificed for the sins and uncleanness of the nation. The second goat was called the azazel goat. It had all the sins of the nation confessed over it and was then chased into the desert. In latter times, they chased this goat off a cliff. These goats have prophetic meanings, one of which has yet to come to pass.
The first goat represents the sacrifice of Jesus to pay for our sins. This goat had its blood put on the ark of the covenant and the altar of incense in the Temple. Jesus took His blood into heaven to apply it to the heavenly ark of the covenant and altar of incense. His blood makes a way for us to receive salvation and reconciliation to the Father. The book of Hebrews, especially chapters 9 and 10, explains this.
It was therefore necessary that the replicas of heavenly things be cleansed with these sacrifices, but that the heavenly things themselves be cleansed with better sacrifices than these. For Christ did not enter holy places made with hands, which are patterned after the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. ... but now He has appeared once at the end of the ages to put away sin by sacrificing Himself (Heb. 9:23-24, 26b).
While Jesus has already come and been sacrificed as our "goat for the Lord", the prophetic fulfillment of the second goat has yet to occur. This second goat represents Satan, the devil. While each of us has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), Satan is the tempter of mankind (Mark 1:13). In other words, Satan has a share in the sin of humanity because he tempts us to sin. This means he is guilty as well. This is why the sins of the people were placed upon the azazel goat and then chased away.
Just after the prophetic fulfillment of trumpets at Jesus' public return, Satan will be bound and placed in the abyss for 1,000 years. This is the fulfillment of the second goat from atonement.
And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season (Rev 20:1-3).
The Feast of Atonement is honored by a complete fast and abstaining from work. On this day, we worship God in sincere appreciation for the sacrifice of Jesus to pay the price for our sins. Furthermore, we look forward to our tempter being removed from earth just before the 1,000-year reign of Jesus begins.

STANDING WITH ISRAEL - Did Trump's Statement Set America Up to Receive a Genesis 12:3 Blessing? - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

Did Trump's Statement Set America Up to Receive a Genesis 12:3 Blessing?

Standing With Israel

Last week, President Trump released a powerful statement in support of Jewish people all over the world as we enter into the Fall Holy Day seasons explained in Leviticus 23. Here is a quote:
As Jewish families across America and the world come together to mark the beginning of the year 5778 in the Jewish calendar, we join them in this time of reflection on the past year and hope for the year to come.
The High Holy Days are also an opportunity for us all to remember the extraordinary perseverance of the Jewish people throughout the centuries. They have endured unthinkable persecution, and yet, through it all, they have filled civilization with hope, love, and freedom.
Today we thank God for the ancient faith of the Jewish people and the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel while wishing a blessed New Year to those preparing to commemorate the upcoming High Holy Days.
This statement was published on the White House website. While God's people prepare to celebrate His holy days, Trump's statement assures them that they have a strong ally. It sends a clear message to the enemies of Israel that they will also have to contend with the United States.

The Prophetic End-Times Significance of This Year's Feast of Trumpets - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

On the Feast of Trumpets, the Jewish people believe that God will write your name in one of three books. (Wikimedia Commons/CC 4.0)

The Prophetic End-Times Significance of This Year's Feast of Trumpets

KELLY MCDONALD JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
The Feast of Trumpets began this Wednesday at sunset. It goes by various names in Hebrew: Yom Teruah (day of the trumpet blast), Zikron Teruah (a memorial for blowing the trumpets) and Rosh Hoshannah (Head of the Year). It is celebrated on the first day of the Hebrew month called Tishri. It is considered the beginning of the civil year and begins the Ten Days of Awe.
On the Feast of Trumpets, the Jewish people believe that God will write your name in one of three books: the book of life, the book of the wicked, or the book of the intermediate. This is why there is such a heavy emphasis on repentance during the season of Teshuvah. This day also has tremendous prophetic implications.
In the future, a seven-year period called the 70th week of Daniel will take place. It will commence the most chaotic time ever known on planet Earth. There will be wars between many nations, famine will be rife, pestilence will spread like never before and humanity will be in total desperation. God's wrath will be poured out. Billions of people will perish in the process. As we approach the end of this seven-year period, the remnants of the nations will march on Jerusalem to destroy God's people.
Then I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. For they are spirits of demons, performing signs, who go out to the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. ... They gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Armageddon. (Rev. 16:13-14, 16).
These nations are gathering to fight for control of the world. They also want to stamp out what remains of Israel. Just when it seems to be a hopeless situation, Jesus Christ will intervene on their behalf! He will blow the trumpet (shofar in Hebrew, which means a ram's horn) and return to save His people!
"Then the Lord will appear over them, and His arrow will go out like lightning. The Lord God will sound His trumpet, and will march forth like storm winds of southern Teman" (Zech. 9:14).
I saw heaven opened. And there was a white horse. He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on His head are many crowns. He has a name written, that no one knows but He Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood. His name is called The Word of God. The armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. ...
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to wage war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.  But the beast was captured and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshipped his image. These two were thrown alive into the lake of fire that burns with brimstone. The remnant were slain with the sword which proceeded out of the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds gorged themselves with their flesh.
Jesus Christ will return on a white horse to deliver His people from utter destruction. Following Him will be the armies of God, which is the body of Christ (Rev. 17:14). After these armies are defeated, there will be people who have survived this terrible seven-year time period. Zechariah 14 is another passage that discusses this battle. It mentions the survivors of the nations (verse 16).
When Jesus returns, a court will be seated, and books will be opened! Every person who survives the wrath of God will have an opportunity to have their name written in the book of life:
I watched until the thrones were cast down and the Ancient of Days was seated, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool. His throne was like the fiery flame, and its wheels as burning fire. A fiery stream issued and came out from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him; and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The judgment was set, and the books were opened.
As we remember and celebrate this year's Feast of Trumpets, we have much to keep in mind. Let us not forget that Jesus will deliver His people at Armageddon at the sound of the trumpet. He can also deliver you today. Let us also remember that He offers the grace that allows your name to be written in the book of life.

The Prophetic Impact of This Year's Teshuvah Season—Part 2 - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

The Hebrew word translated as "return" in Jeremiah 30:3 (above) is "shuv." (Wikimedia Commons)
As reviewed in Part 1 of this series, we are entering into the season of Teshuvah. It is the season of turning unto the Lord to seek His perfect will for our lives. It also has a powerful prophetic meaning!
One of the signs of the end times is the return of Israel and Judah to the promised land. "For surely the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will restore the fortunes of My people Israel and Judah. The Lord says, I also will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it" (Jer. 30:3, emphasis mine).
The season of Teshuvah prophetically corresponds to the rest of God's people returning back to the land! The Hebrew word translated as "return" in Jeremiah 30:3 (above) is shuv. This shuv began in the late 1940s with the establishment of the state of Israel. This past week, the chief rabbi of Barcelona declared that Europe was lost! He is calling for Jewish people in Europe to return to Israel. This current event is a reminder of God's promise.
The return or teshuvah of God's people to the promised land will come to completion just before Jesus returns. Our Messiah left earth, but He is going to shuv or return to win the battle of Armageddon. Teshuvah has a prophetic meaning that we cannot overlook. Jesus is going to gather all the children of Israel and Judah, whereever they may be scattered on the face of the earth.
"At that time will I bring you again, even in the time that I gather you: for I will make you a name and a praise among all people of the earth, when I turn back (shuv) your captivity before your eyes, saith the Lord" (Zeph. 3:20, KJV).
"Thus saith the Lord; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the Lord; and they shall come again (shuv) from the land of the enemy." (Jer. 31:16)
"Thus saith the Lord; I am returned (shuv) unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the Lord of hosts the holy mountain." (Zech. 8:3)
As we honor the season of Teshuvah, let us also look forward to God's people returning back to the land promised to Abraham!

The Prophetic Impact of This Year's Teshuvah Season—Part 1 - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

This period is also called the season of the open windows of heaven. (Wikimedia Commons)

Standing With Israel

This week, we enter into a special season known as Teshuvah. Teshuvah comes from the Hebrew root word shuv, which means to turn or return. It coincides with the Hebrew month called Elul. This month-long period of introspection ends with the Feast of Trumpets (which begins Sept. 20 at sunset).
During this month, I encourage believers to spend time turning to God to compare where your life is to where it should be. It is a time where we examine ourselves, as Paul instructed us in 2 Corinthians 13:5. "Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified."
We need to take serious time and compare our lives with the example of Christ. Where are we falling short? Ask God to forgive you for where you are falling short, but also ask for more of His grace and strength. Ask God to impart more Holy Spirit power into your life so that you can overcome your areas of difficulty.
This period is also called the season of the open windows of heaven. "Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near" (Isa. 55:6). This is the time of the year to make serious petitions to God for areas where we have need in our lives. Do you have family members who are lost? Have they strayed from God? This is the season to ask for God to bring them back. Of course, our nation definitely needs prayer at this time.
Does your family or marriage need repair? Really begin to seek God about how it can be turned around. Do you have other needs such as health or finances? I encourage you to make a list of areas you need God's provision and begin to declare God's provision over them. Make goals and plans to achieve the areas that need attention. After all, God wrote down His plans in the Holy Bible.
As we enter this special time of the year, you will see more and more people online sharing understanding on the season of Teshuvah. What you may not be aware of is the special prophetic meaning concealed in this time.
We will finish this two-part series next time!

What Would Pope Francis' Second Visit to Jerusalem Mean for Revelation's Impending End-Times Showdown? - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

What Would Pope Francis' Second Visit to Jerusalem Mean for Revelation's Impending End-Times Showdown?

KELLY MCDONALD JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
Recently it was reported that Pope Francis is considering a second trip to Jerusalem. While we do not know the details of the visit, it is believed that his key focus will be peace in the Middle East. Could this be the beginning of the "covenant with many" from Daniel 9:27? Only time will tell. Of the many implications from this visit, it reminds us of a coming showdown in Jerusalem that is depicted in the book of Revelation.
The book of Revelation is a book of opposing entities. In Revelation 6, we see a white horse that seeks to conquer. In Revelation 19, we see Jesus on a white horse, riding to conquer the enemies of God. In Revelation 12, we have a pure woman, but in Revelation 17, we see a harlot. In Revelation 11, we see two true prophets sent from God. In Revelation 13, we see two beasts. The second beast is a false prophet who causes people to worship an image. These beasts will wage war against God's people and all who refuse to submit to idolatry.
The second beast of Revelation 13 has uncanny similarities to the pope. In Revelation 13:11-18, a beast comes up out of the earth. Just as Adam came from the dust of the earth, this beast represents a person (Gen. 2:7). This beast has horns like a lamb, but it speaks like a dragon. Jesus said that "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks" (Matt. 12:34). This human appears to be Christ-like, but it has the intent and heart of the dragon (Satan, the devil). This second beast breathes life into an image or idol and causes people to bow down to it.
The pope outwardly looks pious, wearing white and performing acts of kindness. The danger, historically and today, is the words spoken by the pope. In 1095, Pope Urban II told the Crusaders that Christ commanded them to invade the Middle East. He then goes on to say that, "All who die by the way, whether by land or by sea, or in battle against the pagans, shall have immediate remission of sins. This I grant them through the power of God with which I am invested." But only God can grant forgiveness of sins (I John 1:5-10).
In Sept. 2015, the current pope said that Christ's life "humanly speaking, ended in failure, the failure of the cross". Paul said the cross was proof of Christ's triumph (Col. 2:15). In 2016, the pope said that our family life must be guided by conscience, not dogma. Yet Paul informed us that we should be led by the Holy Spirit (Rom. 8:1-14).
In addition to these statements, the Catholic Church advocates the use of idols and images as instruments of worship. This mirrors Revelation 13. Not even Islam advocates idols and images. The pope also wears a garment called a pallium, which is made from lamb's wool.
Let's consider these details. The pope always dresses in white, wears a garment made from a lamb, advocates images and idols and speaks against God's will. The pope is the second beast of Revelation 13. He will call down a false fire from heaven that imitates the real fire from God (Rev. 13:13).
During the great tribulation, the pope is going to face a major showdown in Jerusalem. The two witnesses of Revelation chapter 11 will be God's true prophets during this time. They will tell the world to turn to God Almighty.
There is some debate as to the identity of the two witnesses. We know they are prophets, and they are presently in heaven waiting to be sent to earth (Rev. 11:3-4). Most ministers would agree that Elijah has to be one of the two witnesses. First of all, he is specifically mentioned in Malachi as returning to earth before the return of Jesus. "See, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreaded day of the Lord (Mal. 4:5).
Revelation 13:5-6 describes the two witnesses as being able to send fire from their mouths and cause drought. Elijah manifested these signs as well. He called down fire from heaven (2 Kings 1) and caused a drought to occur (I Kings 17). Some believe that Enoch is the other witnesses since (among other details) he has never died. These two witnesses prophesy for three and a half years. Once that time is finished, they will be killed in Jerusalem. The pope and the beast government will put an end to them. However, they will be resurrected and called to heaven.
As we see this pope or any other pope preparing to visit Jerusalem, we are reminded of these two powerful prophetic chapters—Revelation 11 and 13. We learn of true prophets that have the true fire of God that battle the false fire and words of the pope. I encourage you all to seek the true fire that comes from God alone, even more so as we see the day approaching.

Why Your Prayers for Jerusalem Are Vital in These Last Days - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

We are called to pray for Israel's prosperity. (Pixabay)

Why Your Prayers for Jerusalem Are Vital in These Last Days

"Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they prosper who love you! Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!' For my brothers and companions' sake, I will now say, 'Peace be within you.' Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek your good" (Ps. 122:6-9).
In our last article, we looked at the dangers that the Jewish people and Jerusalem face nearly every day. There are terrorist threats and national threats, both near and far, against the very existence of God's people.
How do we pray for the peace of Jerusalem? The Hebrew word translated as "peace" is shalom. We tend to think of the English word "peace" as referring to the absence of war, but the meaning is much deeper. It literally means "wholeness," referring to prosperity, health and happiness. It can mean "to mend broken things."
When we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we still want to pray for the absence of war. However, we are also praying for the broken things to be mended. Not only do we want the absence of war, but we also want to see love between different people groups in the city. While God is always capable of preventing war, we also want Him to heal the underlying hatred that causes these radicals to want to hurt God's people.
We should pray for Jerusalem to see booming prosperity as it pertains to the city's infrastructure, economy and innovation. We want the Jewish people to dwell in wholeness so that every aspect of their lives has wholeness. However, there is an even deeper reason to pray for these items, and it involves our Savior.
Many people from all over the world visit Jerusalem. If the city is prosperous and safe, then more people will be encouraged to visit. We want to pray for people to experience Jesus when they visit the city, no matter their background. He was crucified just outside the city gates (Heb. 13:12).
There are also archeological digs in and around Jerusalem. Every year, these digs yield archeological evidence that affirm the truth of God's Word. There are also digs revealing more about the specific details surrounding Jesus' arrest, death, burial and resurrection. These discoveries will help us reach a dying and lost world as the Lord's return draws near.
Today, I encourage you to take the time to pray for shalom or peace for Jerusalem. When we see the city in greater distress, let our prayers be offered in greater intensity. Pray for the city to be whole and the world to be reached for Jesus through it.

Will Germany Unwittingly Step Into This Daniel 9 Prophecy? - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

Will Germany Unwittingly Step Into This Daniel 9 Prophecy?

KELLY MCDONALD JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
"The end of it shall come with a flood. And until the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator" (Daniel 9:26b-27).
In January of this year, Germany attempted to control Israel by discouraging new settlements. This stance came after a meeting of ministers from 30 nations that came together in Paris to discuss Middle East peace. This past February, Germany cancelled a meeting between their Prime Minister, Angela Merkel, and the Israeli government. One of the reasons cited was the new settlements that Israel continues to build.
Daniel 9:26-27 speaks of the end times. Specifically, God tells us that wars will continue until the end. A covenant with many for one seven-year period is then mentioned. Presently, war and the threat of war rock the Middle East. Many threats of war come from entities (terrorist groups and nations) who want to destroy Israel.
Just last year, Angela Merkel was quoted as saying that she was "hopeful" that a peace deal could be brokered between the Israel and the Palestinians. In fact, Germany presently acknowledges the peace talks between the two sides to be mediated by four entities: the UN, EU, US and Russia. In 2010, Germany held a direct conference between Israel and the Arab League chief to find a two-state solution.
Their involvement in the peace process also makes sense in light of an increase in military trade between the two countries. In the past few years, Israel bought five submarines from Germany. Last year, they formulated plans to buy more. Germany is looking to purchase drones from Israel. These are just a two examples of their close military cooperation. Interestingly enough, they have also made deals to provide some Arab states with hundreds of their Leopard tanks.
From the Bible, it is clear that some kind of covenant or treaty will be formed with many nations. The UN, EU, US and Russia clearly represent many nations on earth. However, one nation has to be the driving force in pursuing this policy. Could Germany be this nation?
These recent political and economic moves show us that Germany is presently making a power play in the Middle East to bring a peace between all sides. They have the economy, military and political connections to make such a deal happen.

Israel's Prophetic Role in Fulfilling the Passover Right Before Jesus Returns - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

Israel's Prophetic Role in Fulfilling the Passover Right Before Jesus Returns

KELLY MCDONALD JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
Standing With Israel
"When the hour had come, He and the twelve apostles with Him sat down. And He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will never eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God" (Luke 22:14-16).
In the first part of this series, we reviewed the basic understanding of Passover. We also discussed the powerful revelation Jesus gave us at his last Passover on planet earth. He said that it would not be fulfilled until the Kingdom of God. There is a fascinating prophecy in Jeremiah 23:1-8 that helps us unlock the puzzle. I have included an excerpt from verses 5-8.
"The days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the earth. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. And this is the name by which he will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore, surely the days are coming, says the Lord, when they will no more say, 'As the Lord lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,' but, 'As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and from all countries where I had driven them.' Then they will dwell in their own land" (Jer. 23:5-8).
Just before and during the return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign on planet earth, the children of Israel and Judah who are scattered across the world will return back to the land. It will be so great that in the kingdom of God we will not discuss the Exodus from Egypt. Instead, we will discuss this final return from captivity.
There are parallels between the Exodus from Egypt and the coming return from captivity. For instance, 10 plagues struck Egypt. The first three hit Egyptians and Israelites alike. The last seven only were poured out on the Egyptians. In Rev. 18:4-6, an event that happens just before the return of Jesus, the people of God are commanded to leave Babylon and not share in her plagues. This refers to the seven plagues of God's Wrath found in Revelation 16.
A couple of weeks ago, we reported on the Ethiopian Jews who are returning back to the land. The prophecy in Jeremiah specifically mentions a return from the north. Just two years ago, Benjamin Netanyahu called for 'mass immigration' of European Jews to Israel. Just last year, a report was released detailing how many Jewish people in France are moving to Israel. We are seeing some Jewish people return now. Many more will return home.
As we remember the Passover season this year, let us remember the Lamb that was slain. But also, let us not forget the Lion that is returning to bring Passover to its full meaning.

Will We See the Fulfillment of Prophetic Third Temple in Our Lifetime?

KELLY MCDONALD JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
The end of it shall come with a flood. And until the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall make a firm covenant with many for one week. But in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And on the wing of abominations shall come one who makes desolate, until the decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator (Dan. 9:26b-27).
The book of Daniel has many references to end-times prophecy. One of these, found in Daniel 9:26b-27, refers to a special event at the end of days. Before Jesus comes back, there will be a seven-year treaty formed with many nations. This is often called Daniel's 70th week of prophecy. In the middle of this seven-year period, the temple of God will be defiled; sacrifices will be ceased.
Interestingly enough, no temple stands in Israel today. No animal sacrifices are taking place. This means that for the verses in Daniel to come to pass, this temple must be rebuilt. What will surprise you is that the heart of the Jewish people is turning towards the restoration of the Temple.
At the end of 2016, UNESCO ruled that the Temple Mount has no connection to Judaism. This has caused outrage on both sides of the political spectrum in Israel. Last week, some in the Israeli Parliament decided to respond. Leaders in the Likud party put forth a proposal to create a new foundation that would educate people about the powerful connection between the Temple Mount and Judaism. The plan calls for the US equivalent of $550,000 to be directed towards this effort.
The creation of this special foundation is just one of several events that have been preparing the way for the third temple. In 2015, the Temple Institute declared that they reconstructed the Altar of Sacrifice for the Third Temple. Last month, the Sanhedrin announced that they were reinstituting the temple tax of half a shekel of silver found in Exodus 30:11-16. Arrangements have been made for Jewish people across the world to pay the tax. This will allow funds to be set aside for construction of the third temple.
The reconstruction of the third temple is a necessary event for the fulfillment of Daniel's 70th week. This year is particularly special because it is the Jubilee, or 50th year since the Jewish people retook the Temple Mount at the end of the six-day war (June 7, 1967). The efforts to bring awareness to the significance of the Temple Mount are a reminder that we are just that much closer to seeing God's Word come to pass.
