NOW Is The Time - Now Think On This by Steve Martin
NOW Is The Time
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin
“There is an
appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under
heaven.” Ecclesiates 3:1 NAS
When the Word of the Lord comes to you and speaks softly in your
inner spirit, saying, “NOW is the time,” you know that you know it is time. Something
in your spirit then responds “Yes!” He doesn’t have to spell it out for you. That
“it” – that something you have been waiting for, is now going to happen. You
just know that it is the time. He has spoken.
Each of us are waiting on something. Some of you for a decent job,
to replace the one or two part-time ones that you have had for awhile. Or the current
job that you now have causes you to drag yourself out of bed each weekday
morning, hoping that soon another will soon come along.
Others are anticipating the day when they will meet “the one”,
trying not to lose hope in the process.
One of you reading this just wants the Lord to heal that nagging,
hurting nerve. It has been painful for over a year now, causing loss of sleep
and all that comes with a chronic issue. Enough already with the Aleve twice a
day.
And yet several of you have been waiting for that release into
your God-given dream; to touch the nations, to help the helpless, to have your
life count for something, for all eternity. After all, the prophetic word came
when you were 24. Now you are almost 40. What is up with that?
Waiting on the Lord and His timing can do one of two things. One,
it can make you resentful that it hasn’t happened already, eventually turning your
heart into bitterness for the Lord and His people, which then ultimately has
you believing nothing that the Lord has spoken to you will ever come to pass.
Or two, you are maintaining that trust in His faithfulness,
knowing deep down that though you can’t see the promise fulfilled, which may yet be far off, you keep pressing on. Because He has proven Himself to you in your past, you
know that somehow, someway, someday He will be there to do it again. You are
believing the Scripture for what it exactly says, and which has been speaking directly
to you.
You really believe the Scripture, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1. NASB)
You really believe the Scripture, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1. NASB)
I especially
like these following verses that talk about Abraham’s and Sarah’s faith. Being
in my “latter” years, or better yet, my “fine wine prime time golden ways of
gray hair days” years, they are especially meaningful to me.
“By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by
going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; and he went
out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he
lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in
tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; for he was
looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
By faith even Sarah herself received ability to
conceive, even beyond the proper time of life, since she considered Him
faithful who had promised. Therefore there was born even of one man, and him
as good as dead at that, as many descendants as the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. (Hebrews 11:8-12
NASB)
The Lord understands our weaknesses. He knows
where we are at. After all, He created us.
Today I heard the Lord say, “NOW is the time.” I
have been waiting. Let it now be done according to your word, my Lord.
He is speaking to you too. The waiting is over.
NOW is the time.
Now think on this,

"Do You Need a Miracle in Your Marriage?" Bill Yount
"Do You Need a Miracle
in Your Marriage?"
in Your Marriage?"
Bill Yount, Hagerstown, MD
The Elijah List
The Elijah List
Marriages are being bombarded by severe, raging storms like never before. Did you know that when you were even thinking about marriage, God was already thinking of miracles? God spells the word marriage... m-i-r-a-c-l-e! The Lord actually created marriages with a built-in need for miracles. The Lord ordained marriage to not only require miracles but to demand them. Marriages demand miracles!
Marriages and Miracles Go Together
From Heaven's perspective, here is how it works. The Lord will allow your wine in your marriage to run out to get you on miracle territory... just like at the first marriage wedding feast in Cana! Did you know that when the Lord brought you and your spouse together, He knew you would need a miracle? In fact, there is something wrong if your marriage doesn't need a miracle sooner or later. Marriages and miracles just go together!
I believe Jesus chose to create His first miracle on earth where He knew it would be needed the most – at a wedding feast, so everyone will know they can have a miracle in their marriage. Study the couples throughout the Bible who had great destinies and you will find that they faced the greatest impossibilities and nothing less than a miracle brought them through to God's purposes. (Photo via Wikipedia)
Abraham and Sarah were destined to conceive and bring forth a son of promise. But "Houston, we got a problem!" Sarah wasn't able to conceive. Let's forget about this miracle stuff and get Hagar ("another woman is what I need" ) to fulfill my destiny..." they thought.
A Man-made Solution
Sarah agreed, "No, I don't have what it takes, go ahead and have Hagar... I am tired of this unfulfilled marriage" (paraphrased).
Through painful experiences Abraham and Sarah learned that they needed more than each other (and a third party) to have their fulfillment in life. Finally they realized that their answer was not in each other.
Through painful experiences Abraham and Sarah learned that they needed more than each other (and a third party) to have their fulfillment in life. Finally they realized that their answer was not in each other.
God waited until they both could not possibly have a child in the natural. Not only was Sarah's womb dead, but Abraham was about a hundred years old... out of commission also. They finally had to take their eyes off of themselves and look to the Lord realizing it was an "impossible mission."
God was waiting all those years to hear from them what He knew all along... "WE NEED A MIRACLE IN OUR MARRIAGE!"
God was waiting all those years to hear from them what He knew all along... "WE NEED A MIRACLE IN OUR MARRIAGE!"
The Greater the Call On a Marriage – the Greater the Need For Miracles!
In the first chapter of Luke, Zechariah and Elizabeth have an "impossible" area in their marriage. There is a barren place in their marriage also. Elizabeth could not conceive. Zechariah, a priest, was in the temple and had the greatest experience of his life. The Angel gave him the word of the Lord about his destiny of having John the Baptist for a son... representing the prophetic move coming to prepare the way of the Lord.
Luke 1:23 "...as soon as the days of his ministration (duties) in the temple were accomplished, he departed to HIS OWN HOUSE." Then his wife Elizabeth who had been barren conceived! Many men today in the temple or ministry are being called by God to return to their own house to their own "barren" situations. Not until we men learn and experience spiritual intimacy with our own wife, so they can spiritually conceive, can we fulfill God's purpose for both of us in our marriage... and this includes bringing forth a godly seed as well, children of destiny!
Wise Men Sought Jesus But Mary Conceived Him!
Women are "Conceivers" both physically and spiritually. Men are "Seekers." Ministries can go no further than marriages if we want children of destiny (godly seed). It's really out of spiritual intimacy with our spouse that ministry is birthed. I sense husbands and wives will have to hold hands (spiritually) to bring forth the next move of the Spirit. Men will have to cleave to their wives because it will take two for what God wants to do next.

Many men and women have received great visions and words from the Lord in churches. But the real conception of these words must take place in our home where we live. "Spiritual Conception" must also take place in our homes if we are going to see our destiny fulfilled and the Kingdom of God advance. Have we men failed to take home what we receive in God's House and neglect spiritual intimacy with our wives at home?
I sense the wine (intimacy) has run out in many marriages but I hear the Lord saying to the angels, "Get the water pots and fill them with water. I'm going to turn water into wine again and marriages into miracles. I have saved My best wine that has been aging for centuries for this last hour. I have saved the best wine for last to be tasted right at home between husband and wife."
Is there spiritual barrenness in your marriage? Need a great miracle? Your great need for a miracle qualifies you to receive one! They say marriages are made in Heaven... so is lightning and thunder. Expect miracles in your marriage today!

Bill faithfully served in prison ministry at Mount Hope for 23 years and now travels full-time, both in the U.S. and internationally, ministering in churches and Aglow circles.
"Humility and humor" characterize his ministry as he brings forth a fresh word that is "in season," proclaiming the Word of the Lord! The shofar (or ram's horn) is often used in his meetings, breaking the powers of darkness over regions, churches, and households. The shofar represents God's breath blowing into the nostrils of His people, reviving them and awakening the lost. Many of God's messages, which Bill ministers prophetically, come out of his everyday life with his family and friends.

"Defeating the Giants with Everlast" Dutch Sheets
"Defeating the Giants with Everlast"
Dutch Sheets, Dallas, TX
The Elijah List
"The year was 2007. I was a boxer in a fighting ring, facing five giants, in five rounds. Alternating fists, I knocked out one giant per round with just one blow to each opponent. When I finished taking out the giants, I raised my fists and said, 'If you are going to take out the giants in this season, you are going to have to wear these two gloves.' On one glove was written the word 'Everlast;' on the other glove, 'Evergreen.'"
What I just described is obviously not a real-life scenario, but rather a dream given by God to my friend, Thomas Hall. I am extremely grateful to the Lord for this dream, as it holds great significance for our country – and for me, personally. In it, the Holy Spirit gives us keys that are essential for restoring America's destiny.
Olam-El
Although "Everlast" is the brand name seen on the fight gloves most boxers wear, I knew immediately that it's meaning in Thomas' dream went far beyond a brand of sporting equipment. At the time, I had been studying the life of Abraham. Upon hearing of "Everlast" in the dream, I remembered Genesis 21:33, which says Abraham "called on Olam El," the Everlasting God. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)
El means strong and mighty God. Olam is a bit more challenging to define. One lexicon says it is the most distant time in both directions. This definition falls short, however, as God is not limited by time. Olam existed before Genesis and extends beyond the farthest point into the future. He is the Ancient of Days, the God of Ages, who sits enthroned above the timeline of history and rules over the destinies of people and nations (see Daniel 7:9, 13).
Seeing the past, present, and future simultaneously, Olam perceives the results of an action long before it happens and knows how to deal with the ramifications of events that have occurred in the past. In His faithfulness, Olam uses this unique perspective to redeem and restore people and purposes.
Abraham's Journey
Before Abraham arrived at the point where he called upon Olam El, his walk of faith included many twists and turns. Although Hebrews 11 and Romans 4 refer to Abraham as a great man of faith, he made some pretty big mistakes during his journey with God. On two occasions, powerful kings wanted to marry Sarah; in selfish attempts to spare his life at their hands, Abraham lied, claiming she was his sister (see Genesis 12 and 20). Thankfully, God intervened and rescued Sarah each time.
Also, throughout their 25-year wait for Isaac, Abraham and Sarah repeatedly wavered in their faith; they actually produced a child through Sarah's maid, Hagar, trying to attain God's promise by their own faithless efforts. In His mercy and faithfulness to covenant, however, the Lord overcame all of their failures and kept their destiny intact.
When Abraham called upon Olam El in Genesis 21:33, he and Sarah had finally received their promised son, Isaac – even though they were 100 and 90 years old! Miraculously, they were also enjoying great favor with one of the kings Abraham had previously deceived concerning Sarah (see Genesis 21). Abraham was proclaiming that, "despite my double-minded waywardness and covenant breaking, God's faithfulness is unchanging and His purposes stand firm forever.
In spite of my deceit and unbelief, God has proven Himself faithful to His Word and used every circumstance to grow my faith," (see Romans 4:20). Abraham eventually became known as the "father of many nations," "father of the faith," and "friend of God" (see Romans 4:16, 18; James 2:23).
Olam is stronger than our weaknesses and bigger than the breaches we create along the timeline of history. And just as He did for Abraham and Sarah – cleaning up their messes and resetting them on the path toward His purposes – Olam still reaches back in time to redeem and restore people, so that when the time is right, His purposes are fulfilled.
Olam sees us through the lens of the great destiny He's ordained for us, and goes about healing our past and correcting our course, so He can prove Himself faithful to His promises.
It's Not Too Late For America
Some contend that America has fallen so deeply into sin, evil, and injustice that God can't send revival and restore her destiny. But when I remember Abraham, reflecting upon the name Olam El, I am filled with great hope for our nation. The same God who redirected, redeemed, and "re-lifed" him, longs to do the same for America. We were birthed out of a dream in the heart of Olam El – to be a light to the nations – and He still desires to see that dream fulfilled.
America can certainly defeat the giants of our day and once again be that shining city on a hill and a light to the nations – but not in our own might. Nor will we win because we deserve it. America will experience revival when in humble surrender and repentance a remnant of Believers call out to Olam El, the Everlasting God. He can apply the Blood of Jesus to the mistakes of our past, heal the broken places, and release blessings upon us once again.(Photo via Pixabay)
The significance of the "Everlast" glove in Thomas' dream was apparent to me back in 2007. In the meantime, reflect upon Olam El, the Everlasting God. If you sense you've stepped out of alignment with His purposes for your life, call upon Him, and thank Him for being ever faithful to restore you.
