A Nugget for Living Life - "Men are men. Women are women..: by Steve Martin

"Men are men.
Women are women.
Simple as that.
Don’t get confused.
It's a basic of life."

Prepare for Persecution:
A Message From Billy Graham

10/27/2015 BILLY GRAHAM CHARISMA NEWS

In the event of a national catastrophe, much confusion, terror and consternation would reign. What would the Christian do? What should our attitude be? Which way would we turn if the country in which we live were suddenly wrecked and all the props gone?
As a whole, our nation does not know what privation is. We do not know what sacrifice is. We do not know what suffering is. Suppose persecution were to come to the church in America, as it has come in other countries.
The immunity to persecution that Christians in our country have experienced in the past two or three centuries is unusual. Christ strongly warned Christians that to follow Him would not be popular, and that in most circumstances it would mean cross-bearing and persecution.
The Bible says that all who "desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12). Jesus said that as the time of His return draws nigh, "They will seize you and persecute you" (Luke 21:12). We have no scriptural foundation for believing that we can forever escape being persecuted for Christ's sake. The normal condition for Christians is that we should suffer persecution. Are you willing to face persecution and death for Christ's sake?

What Would You Do?

Since we have experienced little religious persecution in this country, it is likely that under pressure many would deny Christ. Those who shout the loudest about their faith may surrender soonest. Many who boast of being courageous would be cowardly. Many who say, "Though all others deny Christ, yet I will never deny Him," would be the first to warm their hands at the campfires of the enemy.
Jesus, in speaking of the last times, warned, "Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake" (Matthew 24:9). The Scripture says, "because iniquity will abound, the love of many will grow cold" (Matthew 24:12).
The apostle Paul, referring to the coming evil day, said, "Therefore take up the whole armor of God that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done all, to stand" (Ephesians 6:13).
Here are five ways to fortify yourself so that you will be able to stand in that day.

1. Make Sure

First, make sure of your relationship to God. Amos the prophet saw the Day of Judgment fast approaching for Israel. He warned the people to prepare to meet God. The word preparedness should be a key word for everyone.
It is strange that we prepare for everything except meeting God. We prepare for marriage. We prepare for a career. We prepare for education.
But we do not prepare to meet God. Even though most Americans see the storm clouds gathering on the horizon, by and large we are making few preparations to meet God. This is a time for repentance and faith. It is a time for soul-searching, to see if our anchor holds.
Have you been to the cross where Christ shed His blood for your sins? Have you had the past forgiven? Have you come by faith, confessing that you are a sinner and receiving Christ as your Savior? I tell you that this cross is the only place of refuge in the midst of the storm of judgment that is fast approaching. Make sure of your relationship with God.

2. Walk With God

Second, learn now to walk with God in your daily life. Abraham walked with God and was called a friend of God. Walk with God as Moses did on the back side of the desert; when the hour of judgment fell upon Egypt, Moses was the one who led his people to freedom. Walk with God as David did as a shepherd boy; when the time of crisis came, David was prepared to meet it. Daniel and his three young friends walked with God in Babylon, and when trouble came, God was beside them—whether it was in the lions' den or in the fiery furnace.
However, God does not always deliver His saints from adversity. God says in Hebrews 11 that others were just as faithful as Abraham, Moses, Daniel or David. They, too, walked with God—but they perished. God has not promised to deliver us from trouble.
But He has promised to go with us through the trouble. Stephen was a young man "full of faith and of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 6:5). They stoned him to death, but his was a triumphal entry into heaven. If you are not strengthening the inner man or woman by daily walking with God now, when a crisis comes you will quake with fear and give in, having no strength to stand up for Christ.

3. Assimilate Scripture

Third, we should fortify ourselves with the Word of God. Begin reading, studying and memorizing Scripture as never before. The Bible says, "Stand therefore, having your waist girded with truth" (Ephesians 6:14). The truth is the Word of God. We are to be girded and undergirded with the Word. Read it, assimilate it, feed on it; let it be your staff and strength. It is quick and powerful. It is the bulwark of the soul. Too many Christians today are entangled with the affairs of this world, caught in a net of material interest and diversion. Scripture, to many, is little more than a reference book for biblical facts. It is seldom opened and rarely relished as the spiritual staff of life that it is.
Many souls are anemic and starved for the things of God. They are totally unprepared for a time of crisis. Store these Scriptures away so that if your Bible is ever taken from you, you will have the Word of God written on the tablet of your heart. Many stories have come out of prison camps, of Christians who had no Bibles but had committed to memory great portions of Scripture. What a comfort, blessing and strength these Scriptures were as they repeated them over and over again to themselves. One missionary who was in a concentration camp for three years in China told me that during that time his greatest regret was that he had not memorized more of the Bible.

4. Pray Always

Fourth, fortify yourself with prayer. The Bible, referring to "the evil day," says, "Pray in the Spirit always with all kinds of prayer and supplication" (Ephesians 6:18). If we are to stand uncompromisingly for Christ when a national crisis comes, we must rediscover the power of prayer.
The early church knew the value and necessity of prayer. Earnest, fervent prayer preceded every major triumph. Prayer preceded Pentecost. Peter and John were en route to the temple to pray when they witnessed for Christ, and thousands were converted. Paul and Silas prayed in prison, the Philippian jailer found Christ, and Paul and Silas were delivered.
If Christianity is to survive in a world filled with materialism, the church must have a revival of prayer. As individuals, we must repent of prayerlessness. The prayer meeting must become the vital institution it was when evangelical Christianity was the mightiest force in the world.

5. Meditate on Christ

Fifth, we must fortify ourselves by meditating upon the person of Christ. Charles Haddon Spurgeon once said, "There have never been 15 minutes in my life when I did not sense the presence of Christ." We must learn again to practice the presence of God. We must say with David, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer" (Psalm 19:14). Christ must be vitally real to us if we are to prove loyal to Him in the hours of crisis.

Will You Stand?

Today our nation ranks as the greatest power on the face of the earth. But if we put our trust in armed might instead of Almighty God, the coming conflict could conceivably go against us. History and the Bible indicate that mechanical and material might are insufficient in times of great crisis. We need the inner strength that comes from a personal, vital relationship with God's Son, Jesus Christ.
The wheels of God's judgment can be heard by discerning souls across the length and breadth of nations. Things are happening fast! The need for a return to God has never been more urgent.
The words of Isaiah are appropriate for us today: "Seek the Lord while He may be found, call you upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon" (Isaiah 55:6-7).
God needs men and women who will "stand in the evil day." Will you be one of them? Will you come to the cross and in humility confess your sins to God and receive Jesus Christ as Savior? Will you become one of God's warriors in this crisis hour? You can enlist today in the army of God by giving your life to His Son Jesus Christ and letting Him become the Captain of your soul. "Yet to all who received Him, He gave the power to become sons of God, to those who believed in His name" (John 1:12). ©1957 BGEA

"Many Are About to Sleep Their Way to Freedom" - Al Thomas

"Many Are About to Sleep
Their Way to Freedom"
Al Thomas, Hagerstown, MD
The Elijah List

Slumber for the Body of Christ

Six years ago, God gave me a word about the benefits of sleeping...here's the word He just gave me about slumber for the Body of Christ.(Photo via Pixabay)

Matthew 11:28-30 says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest...and you will find rest for your souls."When you sleep you rest. While praying for the Body of Christ, I heard God say:

"Many of My children simply need to go to bed..."

I Heard God Say, "I Will Put Your Enemies in a Deep Sleep"

First, remember David: "So David took the spear and the jug of water from beside Saul's head, and they went away, but no one saw it or knew it, nor did any awake, for they were all asleep, because a sound sleep from the Lord had fallen on them" (1 Samuel 26:12).

Discouragement, confusion, and fear will weaken the enemy's camp as God's slumber will disable them. While they sleep, many in the Church are going to walk right into the enemy's camp, take their weapons, fresh water, and walk right out. They will not destroy them (the Lord will do that). They will simply disarm them (see Ephesians 6:10-17).

Many think sleep is a waste of time, but not God. He utilizes it for your good. Get this: As you sleep, God is planning each step of your future (see Jeremiah 29:11, 33:3). God did not haphazardly put you here on this earth without a plan (see Proverbs 3:6). He has a future for you. He didn't just save you and then throw you into some strange predicament and say, "Good luck, I hope you make it." You were not just accidentally dropped here due to some cosmic misunderstanding. You are here on purpose.

Angels (and Sometimes Jesus) are in Your Room While You Sleep

After ministering at a church recently, we heard the following testimony: "Last year, when Al & Sherry were here, I came up for prayer. I had had severe neck pain for some time. When they prayed it seemed nothing happened. One night, about 3-4 days later as I was lying in bed, half asleep, half awake, I felt the hands of the Lord around my neck. I knew it was the Lord Jesus. He was turning and twisting my neck and I could feel and hear bones moving. Since that night I have never had that pain again."

I'm always reluctant to share experiences with angels because people shouldn't be obsessed with the supernatural. I don't seek "experiences," yet I constantly have them. I don't know why, but it's happened since Jesus appeared in my living room on Christmas day in 1971 – uninvited, by the way. I have found that the supernatural is very natural in my life. Since that day, I have found, if you seek Jesus, inevitably you will experience the supernatural. We must be discerning and test the spirits (see 1 John 4:1). (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

In the early '80s (while pastoring in Wisconsin), I was awakened by an angel standing in my bedroom. I knew this was an angel from God (since he had visited me when I was saved). He spoke these words to me: "Someone lied to you, and you have believed this lie for many years."

Then I saw a vision of my father screaming at me when I was about 12 years old. My father said, "You will never be anything, you will always be a bum." The angel said, "You must forgive him. He loved you but did not know how to show it, nor did he understand the damage those words would cause you."

I had completely blocked that memory out of my mind. I forgave my father, and I felt a huge weight lifted off of me. The angel said, "You are not a failure. Go forth, knowing you will succeed." Then the angel disappeared. I loved my dad and I know he loved me, but showing affection was very difficult for him when he was a young father.

Peter Slept While He was in Prison. You Need Some Rest for Your Stress. God Will Use Your Slumber Time to Refresh You...

Yes, there is a time to work, to fight, and resist, but there is also a time to rest while God works for you (see Exodus 14:14). Sometimes God can do more for you when you are sleeping than when you are awake.
As Peter was released by an angel (see Acts 12:3-11), God will release you from bondage. But take notice, Peter did not start praying feverishly and demanding to be released. Instead, he was so confident that God would deliver him, he calmly closed his eyes and slept.

Just as many saints were praying for him (see verse 5), be aware that many saints are right now praying for you. Relax. Calm down. "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). You have prayed and made your requests known (see Philippians 4:6). Be at peace (see Philippians 4:7). (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

Do you not know that God has dispatched a divine angelic posse and more is happening than you can see? Angels are ministering spirits for the heirs of salvation. "Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? (Hebrews 1:14). God is on the job and His timing is perfect. While it is true some need to awaken from a slothful faith (see Ephesians 5:14), many more need to rest in God (see Matthew 11:28-30). Where is that La-Z-Boy? You're getting sleepy now...

God Can Move While You Snooze...

I'm not talking about laziness or procrastination (see Proverbs 6:4; 20:13). Working hard actually makes your sleep sweet (see Ecclesiastes 5:12). But this is a divine sleep...a heavenly rest that brings direction and deliverance. Many will experience ministry from God while they have a little siesta.

Hear this: If God put Adam into a deep sleep (see Genesis 2:21) and made Eve...imagine what He can do with a little nap. God will send angels to visit many through dreams. Testimonies will come forth of divine direction as they simply dozed off. As God gave Joseph instructions in a dream (see Matthew 1:20), so He can do the same with you. Forty winks will accomplish for some what a forty-day fast did for others.

Many will experience healing in an afternoon nap...you will slumber and hear His voice; after dozing off, you will awaken with a new enthusiasm for your calling. Some, previously fearful, will fall asleep and awaken with a supernatural sense of peace and safety (see Proverbs3:24).

When in the past dread was your companion, now sweetness will accompany you each time you awaken (see Jeremiah 31:26). Still, with others, before God sets people upright, He will lay them down in a deep sleep (see Daniel 8:18). As you sleep, God will speak. (Photo via Pixabay)

Some must be put out before God can bring them in. No distractions, no doubts, no temptations – and no sleeping pills needed. Some might say, "You're lazy" – but you and God know better. Your eyes are heavy now. Come, it's ministry time...in your sleep. Goodnight, child of God.
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so He giveth His beloved sleep.Psalm 127:2

Major Reforming Happening by Doug Addison

Major Reforming Happening

by Doug Addison

Identity Network

If you are reading this then congratulations, you have made it through some very uncertain times. The good news is that things are going to start getting progressively better after this month.

This is from my prophetic word for 2015 that I released last January: There will be another major spiritual shift in June (the first one was in May of this year) and "June gloom" will lift and the fog of forgetfulness will be removed. God will begin to bring to your memory promises you have forgotten. This will set the pace for the rest of the year. Watch for things to "fall into place" in the fall.

Take Cover

When I say, "Take cover," most people think of something negative coming. But God is saying that if you stay under His covering things will work out great. Don't be distracted by things that are in disarray right now. Things are going to smooth out in July.

Psalm 91:1-4 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.

The enemy wants you to think that you missed something or messed up.

Take cover in God and you will not have to worry.

Major Reformation

Watch for big things from small beginnings. If you have ever heard God say to you, "Don't despise humble beginnings," understand that God is gathering small groups together to do something great. It is important to be aligned in the right place, at the right time and with the right people for the second half of the year.

We will see a shift come as we get aligned with God's purposes for our lives. There is a major reformation at hand!

• Repositioning
• Regrouping
• Reshaping
• REFORMING

2:22

I keep seeing 2:22 on the clock. God spoke to me about this through Daniel 2:22:

Daniel 2:19-22 During the night the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision. Then Daniel praised the God of heaven and said: Praise be to the name of God forever and ever; wisdom and power are his. He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.

Watch for These Things Starting in June:

God is speaking through dreams and visions. The season is changing. Expect to see changes coming as God raises up new leaders for this next movement coming. God is revealing deep mysteries that have not been revealed. Expect to have hidden things revealed and a strategy on how to respond.

How to Move in what God is Doing Right Now

Develop this foundation:
  • Agree that all things are possible for those who believe.
  • "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 NKJV " … but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 NIV
  • Understand that God is not angry and is not out to harm you.
  • God is the giver of good gifts.
  • God is a loving Father who wants to give us good things.
  • God is for you and not against you or mad at you.
  • God is not causing the bad things that we see happening in the world.
  • God wants to give us the desires of our heart and wants to do this as our heart becomes more like His. Psalm 37:4
  • God wants to give you hope, a future, and not harm you. He longs to see you prosper and succeed. Jeremiah 29:11
  • You are truly a new creation in Christ, and old things no longer have power over you unless you allow them to.
Log jams

God showed me that many people are suffering from cloudy vision and confusion because of a critical spirit. When we judge others we can block blessings from flowing to us. Consider these verses that have to do with giving …

Luke 6:37-38 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

People are suffering from spiritual log jams. For the most part it is from holding judgments against others.

Matthew 7:3-4 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?"

Overall it is a time of major transition. Things are going to start to flow more freely. God is going to reveal a strategy that you need to flow in His will and timing for the remainder of the year.

Can you sense the transition? Ask God if you have any areas of blindness due to a "log of judgment" in your eye. God is gracious and is preparing you for increase! Remember to rise above your current circumstance and don't let anything stop you!

Blessings,

Survey Shows Evangelicals Confused Theologically - CBN News

Dr. Stephen Nichols

Survey Shows Evangelicals Confused Theologically

new poll from Lifeway Research reveals that evangelicals have a significant level of theological confusion.
The survey, commissioned by Ligonier Ministries, shows a lack of orthodox views about God, salvation, and the Holy Spirit.
The good news is that nearly all evangelicals, about 96 percent, believe that Jesus rose from the dead. And 92 percent believe that salvation comes from Him alone.
Also, close to 90 percent believe that God is sovereign over all people and that the Bible is the word of God.
What are some of the most concerning heretical views some evangelicals hold? For more on this, CBN News spoke with Dr. Stephen Nichols, president of Reformation Bible College and a Ligonier Ministries teaching fellow.

Love For His People Editor's Note: My most recent NOW THINK ON THIS message asked the question, "No More Retraints?" As has been found in the survey above, American Christians in particular no longer know/believe what is black and white and Scripturally based, and thus cannot stand for what is right and wrong. Read below.

No More Restraints?
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

“And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.” 2 Thess. 2:6-8 NASU

The walls are falling down. Many of the restraints we formerly could count on, which have been holding back the onslaught of the evil one as they had been in place over the centuries, are no longer there.

Almost anything is allowed now, as people and governments are using all excuses to serve their own purposes. Often it is heard, “We must be sensitive to others”, or “stop pushing your own agenda or beliefs on us.” It would seem that all situations are ok, as there is no longer any fear of paying a price for sin, no matter how large or small. After all, some would think, no longer is there a need for accountability to anyone or anything having rules, regulations or set guidelines. We are “free to let it all go and do our own thing.”

According to many, there are no longer any restraints that would or should guide us anymore. The concept of sin went out the door decades ago. With a common misconception that one can be called a Christian by just saying you are one, the thought of a God who would judge people is labeled as old school. Why therefore need we adhere to the Ten Commandments or any Scripture? We took those down off the court room walls decades ago, after all.

There used to be a time when at least you could hear, even in mainline churches, good, solid teaching on standards, as they held the ground on what was permissible and what wasn’t. Now, due to the fear of political correctness or attacks from the other side, speaking Bible truth has been so watered down that young kids have no idea what really is right or wrong. The standards have been so lowered that what we once upheld and stood strong on have now been tossed aside, replaced by ungodly standards and immoral judgments. Deception abounds.

Even certain nationally observed days, with foundations from evil origins themselves, have become some of the most celebrated in our countries. Indeed, the ever increasing temperature rise in the frog’s captive water has gone up so high, whereby the “frog” is now being boiled alive, not even realizing the impending result. But death will actually result.

Parents raising kids are confronted daily with sound waves of how all the others are doing it, how it will be alright to give in a little, and why not to be so tough on allowing your kids to explore and try new ways. Weariness takes its toll on those attempting to hold the line, while struggling to stop the onslaught from coming into the home daily from every which way.

So what do we do? Give up and give in? Tell ourselves that the world is going to hell anyway, so just let it happen?

In speaking to those of us who are of the current parental generation, we are called upon by our Lord to stand, even as others around us would give in. We are the ones who must be the lighthouse to those who have lost their way. We must be the “Bible” to those who have never been instructed in the Way, or shown the Truth, or heard of the Life in Jesus Christ.

“Refuse to follow the devil. Stand strong in your faith. You know that your brothers and sisters all over the world are having the same sufferings that you have. 1 Peter 5:9

“So, brothers and sisters, stand strong and continue to believe the teachings we gave you when we were there and by letter.” 2 Thess. 2:15

I know I grow weary at times, with the frequent temptations, the short term victories of the ungodly, and the continuing battle to keep my mind on the Lord and His ways. But I know for the sake of my family, my grandkids, and others who are watching and listening, I, along with you, must hold the line. We must stand for truth, righteousness and accountability.

Be encouraged in the Lord’s strength. Spend the time daily to be uplifted by His Word, His answers to prayers, and His light that does shine in the darkness. Our promised reward awaits us in the end.

Now think on this,
