Over 50 Churches Burn as Egypt Descends Into Chaos

Love For His People Editor's Note: True colors of the hatred of the so called "peaceful religion." As believers in the True Messiah of Israel and the Nations, Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach, we need to stand with our brothers and sisters against this hatred. We are not to cower in fear, but to stand up and be heard - telling it like it is!  Steve Martin

Over 50 Churches Burn as Egypt Descends Into Chaos

Neither shalt thou stand idly by the blood of thy neighbor: I am the LORD (Leviticus 19:14)
church on fire
As chaos rages on in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood has targeted the Christian community, burning over 50 churches and institutions. Earlier in the week, a young Christian girl was shot dead by the Brotherhood on her way home from Bible study. (Wikimedia Commons)
As the battle between the pro-deposed former President Mohammed Morsi Muslim Brotherhood and the military-backed fighters of Interim-President Adly Mansour in Egypt rages on, with hundreds of daily casualties,  the Christians of Egypt have become one of the most targeted groups of the growing chaos. According to Breaking Christian News, Christian leaders around the world, including in Egypt, are pleading for prayers as over 50 churches and Christian institutions have been attacked or destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood.
According to the Jerusalem Post, based on unconfirmed Twitter reports from Coptic Christian leaders, there have been incident after incident of anti-Christian violence unleashed by the Brotherhood.
Bishop Anba Suriel, the bishop for the Coptic Orthodox Church in Melbourne, wrote on his Twitter micro blog, “over 20 separate attacks on churches and Christian institutions all over Egypt.” Suriel added, ”These attacks on the Copts is unprecedented in the modern era.” He called on the international community not to be passive.
The Egyptian state news agency Mena reported assaults on three churches, including the destruction of the Mar Gergiss church. AFP reported that the attackers tossed firebombs at Mar Gergiss in Sohag, on the west bank of the Nile. The city of Sohag has a large Coptic community.
AFP reported two churches were attacked in El-Menia province, causing fire damage to both buildings. There were reports that one of Egypt’s oldest churches, the fourth century Virgin Mary in Minya, was engulfed in flames.
Speaking with The Jerusalem Post from Ottawa, Irwin Cotler, a former Canadian justice minister and current Liberal MP, said the “Army should be providing more protection to the Copts.”
Cotler spearheaded a report – Securing the Human Rights of Coptic Christians in Egypt After the Arab Spring – in Canada’s Parliament in May to protect the rights of Copts and “hold those responsible for attacks on Copts.” The anti-Christian violence by radical Islamists and Muslim Brotherhood supporters is taking place within “a general culture of impunity,” he said.
Suriel complained on his Twitter feed that Western media have ignored the violent attacks.
Dexter Van Zile, the Christian media analyst for the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, told the Post, “The bishop has a legitimate beef with people.”
The “silence is troubling” from “the people charged with promoting human rights,” Van Zile said. “Progressive Christianity does not want to confront Islamic violence.”
Van Zile added it is “outrageous” that Copts are being scapegoated for the ouster of the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated president Morsi.
According to the JPost, Andrew C. McCarthy, a leading US expert on radical Islam, blamed Western media reports for ignoring and distorting the “Islamic supremacist aggression against Egypt’s Christians – which was a prominent feature of Muslim Brotherhood governance.” He blasted Wednesday’s AFP report for exculpating “the Islamic supremacists by editorializing, in the report, that these were ‘reprisal’ attacks.”
McCarthy wrote, “The Brotherhood is not ‘retaliating’ against Christians. Islamic supremacists are persecuting Christians… which is what they do in Muslim-majority countries.”
All of these tragic reports come after the shooting of a young Coptic girl last week in Cairo. According to the JPost, Jessi Boulus was shot after completing her Bible class at the Ahmed Esmat Street Evangelical Church where her uncle works as a pastor.
According to Arutz 7, the majority of the information is coming via social media. Using the hashtag #EgyChurch, Egyptian users of Twitter and other social networks broadcast messages like “Can’t keep up with the number of churches, Christian businesses, and affiliates being attacked by ‘peaceful’ Muslim Brotherhood”, “It’s clear the Copts are having their churches burnt,” and “This is quickly becoming the worst sectarian catastrophe we’ve seen in our lifetimes.”
According to the Times of Israel, Egypt is anticipating another day of violence as the Muslim Brotherhood supporters called for a “Day of Rage” after security forces cracked down on two peaceful protests in support of Morsi.
“AntiCoup rallies tomorrow will depart from all mosques of Cairo & head towards Ramisis [sic] square after Jumaa prayer in “Friday of Anger,” tweeted Muslim Brotherhood spokesman Gehad el-Haddad late Thursday.
The Times also reported that in anticipation of more violence, the streets of Cairo have been officially closed with individuals setting up barricades and are even checking the IDs of people entering their neighborhoods in hopes of staving off attacks.
Earlier Thursday, the Egyptian Presidency’s office issued a statement criticizing the American and world reactions to the violence, particularly comments made by US President Barack Obama that ”traditional cooperation cannot continue as usual.” The presidential statement said the remarks were not based “on the truth of matters” and could be seen as “strengthening the armed violent groups and encouraging them in their path.”
Earlier in the week, dozens protested outside in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood outside the Egyptian Embassy in Tel Aviv, the Times reported. The protest, organized by the Islamic Movement in Israel, was not allowed by police to take place directly outside the embassy in the center of Tel Aviv, and was instead held at nearby Basel Square, Ynet News reported.
According to Breaking Christian News, an Egyptian Christian leader has asked the world to “Please continue to pray for my country. Those are the hardest days we’ve ever witnessed. The peaceful Egypt is now soaked into violence, hatred and desire to revenge. My heart and the hearts of millions of Christian and Muslim Egyptians are bleeding as we see Egypt turning into a strange country we’ve never knew before.”

United Nations admits bias against Israel

United Nations admits bias against Israel

Sunday, August 18, 2013 |  Israel Today Staff
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Friday finally admitted what most people already knew, that the world body operates with an unfair bias against Israel.
During a meeting with university students at UN Headquarters in Jerusalem, Ban was told that Israelis feel the UN and the international community at large discriminates against the Jewish state.
Ban acknowledged the "unfortunate situation" of automatic and unfair negative attitudes toward Israel and Israeli officials.
The UN chief tried to clarify that as a full-fledged member of the world body, Israel would always be treated equally along with the other 192 member states. But the grossly disproportionate number of resolutions passed against tiny Israel provided evidence to the contrary.

Ahava Love Letter - "Demons & Fire Trucks"

         “Demons & Fire Trucks”

“As I watched, thrones were set in place; and the Ancient One
took His seat. His clothing was white as snow, the hair on
His head was like pure wool. His throne was fiery flames,
with wheels of burning fire.” Daniel 7:9 Complete Jewish Bible

Dear family of friends,

My wife Laurie began her 13th year on staff at the Calvary Development Center this August of 2013. In addition to being a grandma of her own six, she also is one to 10-12 new kiddos each year. All of those will become two year olds during that school year. (Imagine that, those who have raised one or more two year olds.) I highly commend my good wife for her dedication and faithfulness. She touches many lives.
Every August, at the start of each new school year, the daycare teachers have a moment during the Calvary Church Sunday morning service when they are introduced and acknowledged. Thus we attended this church gathering that morning, rather than our usual Antioch International Church. It was a bit different to say the least, for the following reason.
Calvary Church in Charlotte, NC

The meeting was to have started promptly at 9:45 am. After saving our seats in the proper section, with about ten minutes to spare, I went to the bookstore, as custom would have it, to check out the latest. I was glad to find birthday and thank you boxed cards, which I always need. The “Tabernacle & Ark of the Covenant” pamphlet would also come in handy as a resource Bible study tool, so that got put on the check-out counter too. If they had a Snickers candy bar sitting there next to the cash register, it would have been added to the purchase. Gotta have that mid-morning energy, as I figure.
Just before the nice elderly lady rang up the fourth item, the fire alarm went off. It was a different sound than what I would have known, but it brought the intended reaction. Everyone started moving. I calmly asked her to finish my transaction, so I wouldn’t have to come back later. She did, even as the security man said we needed to evacuate. I was thankful for his patience with me.
Three thousand people filed out the doors in orderly fashion, The fire trucks came. False alarm.
#24 to the rescue!

Back into the massive, beautiful and glorious sanctuary we went. Seven minutes later - the fire alarm went off again. As one later asked me in a text, “Was that part of the sermon message?” “I didn’t think so,” I responded.
Growing up as a believer in the 1970s and onward, I was privileged to sit under the Bible teaching of Derek Prince, Don Basham, Charles Simpson, Ern Baxter and Bob Mumford. I am to this day very thankful for them and their shared lives. We were taught well, and along with all their other foundational, bedrock lessons for our daily Christian walk, we were also introduced to the reality of demons and their menacing, hateful activity. We weren’t “looking for a demon behind every rock” as some critics would have thought, but we did learn to develop spiritual eyes and discernment, and be aware of that which the human eye cannot detect.
So when the fire alarm went off that second time, my mind kicked into a higher level of awareness, wondering what the Lord had going on here, and what was He trying to say to myself, and others who may have been asking. And no, I didn’t think it was a demon standing by the alarm switch pulling on it for a good time.
My actual thought was, “Lord, are you saying we need to get out of our comfortable pews and into the world that is on fire (both in the natural and the spiritual), and this is just another way how You are speaking? Trying to be loud and clear about it?”
I think so. The alarms are sounding all over in the nations. People are dying and going to hell without the saving knowledge of the only living Messiah, Jesus Christ (His Hebrew name being Yeshua HaMashiach.)
Will this just be another routine week for each of us? Or will we become more aware of the "fire trucks", the demon activity, and the spiritual warfare happening all around us, and take our part in fulfilling His purpose that He has called each of us to? Time is fast coming to a close as we know it.

Barry & Batya Segal's New Music Project - "Day 7" - now released!

The full MP3 with 11 songs was released on Aug. 18, 2013. I bought my copy off Amazon.

There is a lot of electric guitar, with pronounced drum instrumentation. Along with the extra vocal production that has gone into this, their latest CD is a master piece. (I have all of their CDs.)

Several upbeat, Israeli Middle Eastern style songs of course. Batya wrote the songs, and sings them beautifully. I actually didn't hear much of Barry's voice, but my wife did. Overall, very nice!

My favorite, after the first listen, is "Hashkifa" (Look Down From Your Holy Place.)

With the title being "Day 7", it will be very enjoyable listening to it on Shabbat (Sabbath) especially.

And... it is a good way to learn Hebrew! (All the songs are in part or all in Hebrew, with English too.)

All in the Timing

It is time.

"The first thing God spoke to me concerning your word is this – You are going to start seeing the car beginning to go faster. God began telling me this earlier as I was asking God, “What does that mean, the car is going to go faster.”

God said, “Things are going to start moving in a higher speed. Your life has been almost slowed, Things have been at a slow pace. It is almost as if slow, as in getting your hands on things, slow in the progression of different things, but God says the speed is going to begin to get faster.”

I literally saw in the spirit that God Himself was putting His foot to the gas pedal and all of a sudden God says, “Accelerate.”

Your word of the Lord is “Acceleration is happening. It is speedily, it is beginning to quickly happen. Even concerning your life, you are going to begin to be trained, and for some reason, there is a season of Divine appointment of teaching, training, knowledge, learning.  Knowledge is power. I want to be able to infiltrate my Word, My definition, My Spirit into being, to begin to teach you, train you, show you.

There is a man of God in you that has been launched out but he hasn’t even seen the fullness of him yet. You haven’t seen the fullness of who you are yet. You are going to be able to see you, in the mirror, recognizing, noticing that you are a man with a plan. Understand that you have a plan in your life. You are not here just to praise Me, just to do this, you are not here just to do that, you are not here just to work.

Your lifestyle is a man that has a plan and a strategy.  And not a plan to fail but a plan to infiltrate the earth with a Kingdom message.  Whatever that looks like, concerning business, job, church – no matter what it looks like – infiltrate society by being who you are called to be, and the Kingdom of God will advance, quick, when you begin to manifest the things I put in your spirit. So what goes into a man will come out of a man.

I am teaching, I am educating, I am training. God kept telling me over and over again, “Schooling, schooling, schooling. You are at a place where I am taking you, I am taking those around you, those even within your family, to a higher level, to a higher plane.
God says, “Educate, empower yourself. It is the school of the Holy Spirit. I am launching you out in this season so you will know what to do, what to say, and you will always be on in movement. Did you hear what I just said? You will be on time in movement so that you will begin to know that you are ready in season, you are ready out of season, you won’t be taken by surprise, or caught by surprise.

Son, it is time for you to move on. It is time for you to move on and progress in something new. What you have been working with your hands on for a while concerning, I don’t know if it is job, or just the lifestyle what you have been doing recently, but God says that is beginning to change,  for I am causing you to put your mind and your hand to something else .

Yes, to something else, for there is going to be a new refreshing, of a brand new you, a brand new work, a force coming into to play with you. You are going to start demonstrating and literally begin to bring forth to the surface a brand new working skill in you of the things you need to be doing within your life.

I am rearranging and I am changing the way you have been moving, your habits, your patterns. I am rearranging and I am changing and I am moving you into a new pattern in your life. You will quickly see, quickly see, that some things will begin to pass away and God is going to make them new again.

You will begin to see that some things will begin to die, some things will begin to come to life,  in a new area, in a new arena that you have not done before.  It is time for you to get new education, new knowledge, be put through the school  of the Spirit and begin to grab a hold of the new thing that I am going to do with you concerning a new working mentality”, says the Lord.

The new working mentality and the new pattern of acceleration is literally going to be where your anointing is. For some reason I felt in my spirit as if your call and your anointing has been locked up for season. And this is why I say it to you.

I don’t know what you are doing exactly right now in your life, and what you do you are good at it. Everything you’ve been doing you’ve always put God’s heart into it, but the Lord showed me that that season has been over. God says you are on overtime and I want you to shift into the dawning of a new day. Shift into a new work force, a new work place, a new working of who you are. That is your elevation. It is your time for promotion.

That is going to be your promotion, is moving into the new. And when you move into the new and move into the now, God says that is when you are going to start seeing this new anointing and this new knowledge, begin to increase in you and to put you where you need to be in your life,” says the Lord.

Brother I  hope this ministers to you because most of the time, as you know, I will go, “Thus says the Lord” but I felt for you that every time I begin to prophesy, “Thus sayeth the Lord” that God began to shift me into educating you on what is going to be happening in  your life. And I tell you brother that I know sometimes that you think sometimes that you are going round and round, like a broken record, so to say, but I felt as if it is time for you to shift and move on.

I don’t know what that looks like exactly; I don’t know if it is a workplace, I don’t know if it is just a pattern in a working that you are doing within your life style, but it’s like God is saying it is time to move on into something new.

I don’t tell it to everybody, because everybody needs to move on, but I felt as if there is a new you coming to the scene in this hour. So I want to encourage you in that.

Also I will encourage you with the schooling process.   I don’t know what it is with you as well but it is a schooling process coming that God wants you to educate yourself on.

I don’t know what it is, but there is a schooling for you, that God wants you in the school of the Spirit, that God wants to teach you and train you. The main thing that I want you to grab hold of in this schooling process is learning the voice of God.

I don’t know what it is about you but it is like God says I want to teach you and train you how to hear My voice.  He wants to teach you and train you to hear His voice and also how to speak His voice.  That is a big thing that God is going to move you into.

I want you to pray about that as well. He wants to teach you and train you about His voice. It is very imperative that you begin to hear the voice of the Good Shepherd the way that God wants you to. That is what I really felt. That is one of the struggles I felt as if you have been having recently. So pray about that as well brother."
