Palestinians: Our Kids Have Right to Stone Jews - Israel Today Staff

Palestinians: Our Kids Have Right to Stone Jews

Tuesday, November 17, 2015 |  Israel Today Staff
Earlier this month, Israel’s Knesset enacted a minimum prison term for minors who throw stones and firebombs at vehicles. An outraged Palestinian Authority called the measure “punitive and racist.”
Stoning attacks in Israel go largely unreported, but on average there are several such incidents every day. The perpetrators are usually Palestinian Arab youth, and their victims are almost always Israeli Jewish motorists.
A number of these attacks have resulted in severe injuries and deaths, including Jewish children.
There are certain areas of Jerusalem that the police, ambulances and other public services simply won’t enter for fear of being stoned.
But engaging in such violence is the “right” of every Palestinian Arab child, insisted the Palestinian Authority’s Committee on Prisoners.
The committee accused the Israelis of attempting to “deprive Palestinian children of their ability to exercise their rights in an attempt to kill their sense of belonging to their land.”

Franklin Graham: ISIS Terrorism Is at Our Doorstep

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

While the city of love was in rampant chaos following multiple terrorist attacks, many took to social media to call for change to prevent violence from coming closer.
Among them was evangelist Franklin Graham, who spoke up about the ramifications of immigration around the world.
"We cannot allow Muslim immigrants to come across our borders unchecked while we are fighting this war on terror. If we continue to allow Muslim immigration, we'll see much more of what happened in Paris—it's on our doorstep," Graham posted.
"France and Europe are being overrun by young Muslim men from the Middle East, and they do not know their backgrounds or their motives and intentions. Islam is not a peaceful religion as George W. Bush told us and as President Barack Obama has said—that is just not true," he continued. "Our president and our politicians in Washington need to wake up before it's too late. This is not the time to be politically correct. Our nation's security is at stake. The future of our children and grandchildren is at stake. We should not allow any political or religious group who want to destroy us and our way of life to immigrate to this country."
Graham blames hate and evil for the increased violence around the world.
In a separate Facebook post, Graham pointed that the attacks will not stop until people understand the power of prayer.
"My heart is still very heavy as I think about the 352 people injured and the 129 lives that were ended much too soon in Paris Friday night—all because of hearts filled with hate and evil," Graham posted. "There is only one who can change the human heart and that is God. The Bible tells us, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). The good news for our world is that God can change any heart willing to turn to Him in true repentance and faith in His Son Jesus Christ. Prayers do make a real difference—so let's continue to let the people of France know that we support them and are praying for them during these difficult days."

It Is A Necessity - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

It Is A Necessity
Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“But know that the Lord has set apart the godly man for Himself; the Lord hears when I call to Him.” (Psalm 4:3 NASU

Usually if one writes a message on prayer, many won’t read too much further than the first paragraph, or even sentence. I think it is because we have heard many sermons already on the subject; have read more than one book about it over our adult life as we try to walk the talk; or we carry a guilt complex because we know we should. But don’t. Or not enough.

My sentiments exactly.

Taking the time to pray requires just that – taking the time to pray. But we get up 5 minutes late after hitting the doze button; rush out of the house with coffee and donut in hand; do the normal daily grind; drive the commute to and from work in traffic that grows in numbers daily; watch four hours of TV “to relax”; and then fall into bed hoping for a good night sleep. Maybe throw up a weak word to the Lord. Right?

There are several methods in praying. Some work for others. Some don’t. As for me, I have kept lists so I don’t forget those I really did promise to pray for. But they eventually get lost or forgotten about. My best friend Kevin diligently keeps with a prayer list. How do I know? He tells me, but also faithfully asks me six months later if a prayer request I had told him about was answered yet. And I have seen his spiral notebooks he has saved for decades. Now that is a commitment to pray!

In at least two churches that Laurie and I have been members with, New Covenant Christian Church in East Lansing, Michigan and also All Nations Church in Charlotte, North Carolina area, we have been on a 24/7 prayer team rotation (I got the 3 am shift on a Wednesday morning), and were founding members of a Friday night, 10 pm – 6 am “Watch of the Lord” for almost six years. The amount of literal hours spent in worship with a full team during those eight hours was the best part!

My current customary method of prayer is to take time in the early morning, when others are sleeping - when it is really quiet. That didn’t happen overnight (pun intended). It was a gradual intent and commitment on my part, knowing the necessity of doing it. Too much was happening in family and friends’ lives, the friends of the ministry of Love For His People who gave us prayer requests, the people of Israel, and beyond. I couldn’t honestly look my Lord in the face and say, “Yes, I pray” until I now actually do.

Because the Lord Jesus baptized me with His Holy Spirit, when I asked in 1973 as a senior in high school, praying in tongues is the way to go for me. As I think of those people and situations He reminds me of and leads me in, the prayer language gives me confidence that the best prayers are being said aloud. In several verses of Scripture, the apostle Paul says that he would pray in tongues often. After these many years of experiencing that truth, I see he was right as prayers are answered. Some responses to see evidence may take years to happen, but faith keeps me going.

Throughout the day, when I have a quiet moment at lunch, or as I walk the streets during a break, I pray in tongues. I may not see all that results now because of it, but I expect later to know the effect it was having. When I am in heaven and witness the testimony of those who were saved, healed, or had a supernatural move of the Lord in their life, as a result of my prayer, it will have been worth it.

If you are not baptized in the Holy Spirit, ask the Lord for His power to be given to you. He will give it. Others who know of this gift can help if needed to exercise the prayer language that will come.

We will need more of the Lord’s power in our life in the coming days. As evil becomes more abundant, the necessity of prayer will be more known. His people will pray. He will empower us through prayer, and we will see victory in our lives, and those He has given us the heart for.

Something to think about. And then do.

Netanyahu on Radical Islam: It's Time to Wake Up by Julie Stahl CBN News

JERUSALEM, Israel -- Around the world, authorities are on high alert to prevent any more strikes by Islamic terrorists.
In Britain, Prime Minister David Cameron announced Monday that seven terror attacks have been foiled in Britain over the past six months.
President Barack Obama and other world leaders are meeting at a G-20 summit in Turkey, working on the next steps to end the war in Syria and respond to the escalating ISIS threat.
And in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Monday that radical Islam is responsible for terrorism around the world.
"In Israel, as in France, terrorism is terrorism and standing behind it is radical Islam and its desire to destroy its victims," Netanyahu said. "The time has come for the world to wake up and unite in order to defeat terrorism."
Following the attacks in Paris, Netanyahu repeated what he has said for years, "militant Islamic terrorism attacks our societies because it wants to destroy our civilization and our values."
The Paris attacks happened just hours after a Palestinian terrorist murdered Rabbi Ya'akov Litman and his 18-year-old son, Netanel, in a shooting attack on their vehicle. His wife, three daughters and another son had minor injuries. The family was on their way to celebrate a pre-wedding Sabbath with their fourth daughter and her soon-to-be in-laws.
Netanyahu said it's time for the world "to condemn terrorism against us to the same degree that they condemn terrorism everywhere else in the world."
Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas condemned the attacks in France. Netanyahu said it would be appropriate for Abbas "to condemn ruthless terrorism against innocent people in Israel and fight the incitement that motivates it."
Israeli security services arrested the perpetrator of the attacks on the Litman family. Netanyahu said the terrorist is a member of Islamic Jihad. Apparently his father and brother turned him in due to Israel's policy of destroying the homes of terrorists.
Netanyahu said Israel is no more blame for the terror against it than France is.
"It is the terrorists who are to blame for terrorism, not the territories, not the settlements and not any other thing. It is the desire to destroy us that perpetuates this conflict and drives the murderous aggression against us," he said.
"The terrorists who attack us have the same murderous intent as those in Paris. Thanks to our aggressive policy against terrorism – to control the ground, go into the villages, demolish terrorists' homes and take preventive action against the infrastructures of terrorism – along with the determined action of the IDF and the security services in carrying out this policy, we succeed many times in frustrating and preventing more serious disasters," Netanyahu said.
In a separate case on Monday, two Palestinians and a third wounded when they opened fire on Israeli troops who had arrived to destroy the home of a terrorist from an earlier attack.

COMMENTARY: Is God Still Hiding His Face from Israel? | Brian Hennessy ISRAEL TODAY

COMMENTARY: Is God Still Hiding His Face from Israel?

Monday, November 16, 2015 |  Brian Hennessy  ISRAEL TODAY
For those who subscribe to the false teaching of Replacement Theology (RT), God is not only still hiding His face from the Jewish nation, but they will never see it again. Even their miraculous return to the homeland after 2000 years of exile was not considered a game-changer. For them, the Church is the only apple of God’s eye now. Physical descent from Abraham no longer matters.
But the truth is, even though God’s face had been hidden for so long, He never rejected the Jewish people: “For the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable” (Rom. 11:29). And for those with eyes to see, the reestablishment of the Jewish state has signaled a paradigm shift in God’s relationship with the sons of Judah. Though the nations may still rage, it is obvious God is clearly standing with Israel. His face may not be in full view yet, but even the most cynical of Israelis sense He is smiling again.
But still we must ask, what provoked this centuries-long banishment of the Jews from God’s favor? There’s no question the national rejection of Yeshua as Messiah precipitated it. But that is not the whole story. For God’s judgment of hiding His face from Israel began long before they said “no” to Yeshua. What’s more, His ‘hiddenness’ was destined to fall not just upon the Jews, the descendants of the House of Judah – but upon all Israel.
The national sin that provoked this awful punishment actually started way back in Egypt. That’s where Jacob’s family first became addicted to the idolatry that quickly manifested itself in the golden calf at Mount Sinai. The Almighty, knowing this sin would continue even after they entered the land, prophesied of a future judgment through Moses, saying, “I will surely hide My face in that day because of all the evil which they will do” (Deut. 31:18).
That judgment fell first upon the northern tribes of Israel when Assyria removed them from the land for their apostasy and turned them into goyiim. But Judah was given a pass at that time, even though God revealed she was even more sinful: “Samaria did not commit half of your sins” (Ezek. 16:51). A hundred years later Judah would be exiled to Babylon, but God never totally hid His face from her. He continued to encourage and chastise her through the prophets, restoring her to the land seventy years later.
Then Yeshua was born. And even though unbelief would bring on the beginning of sorrows for Judah – it was the end of God hiding His face from the northern tribes now assimilated among the Gentiles! For in Yeshua, God’s face of mercy had shined forth, just as Isaiah had foretold: “The people who walk in darkness will see a great light” (Isa. 9:1).
Tragically, when we came to the light we showed we had not learned very much from the years of exile due to the sins of our forefathers. For just as the nation had reverted to Egyptian paganism as soon as Moses was out of sight, so did we. Within four centuries of Yeshua being taken up to Heaven we allowed the High Priest of Rome, Constantine, to incorporate the Christian faith into its idolatrous religious system. It was an apostasy that plagues us to this very hour. It is only by the grace of God that a remnant has finally begun to come outside this religious camp and to turn their faces towards Jerusalem.
So where are we today? Drawing closer to the moment when all Israel, a remnant of both Judah and Israel, will again experience the glorious unveiled face of our God. Soon these words of Isaiah will resound within the hearts of all God’s people: “For a brief moment I forsook you, but with great compassion I will gather you. In an outburst of anger I hid My face from you for a moment, but with everlasting lovingkindness I will have compassion on you, says Yahweh your Redeemer” (Isa. 54:7,8).
And then –all Israel will  be saved!
