"Your Assignment Is Alive! God Is Paving New Road Ways" - Cindy McGill

"Your Assignment Is Alive! God Is Paving New Road Ways"
Cindy McGill, Salt Lake City, UT
The Elijah List

The days ahead are exciting and we have been getting prepared to navigate them. Many people have been experiencing extremely difficult circumstances lately. Hope has dimmed and it seems, at times, it's been hard to have faith and see a bright future. The battle we all face is a spiritual one. There has been a direct attempt to "wear down the saints". There is a blueprint and pathway to know how to chart our course into this next season.

Finding Your Identity

You are bought with a price. Your value and worth are much greater than you realize. There is a purpose for you and plan for you and because of your influence, the devil has tried to sabotage your future and pollute your mind with thoughts of failure and unimportance. You must know that this is a LIE.

The assignment you have been created for is still very much alive. God is visiting many, many people in dreams to reawaken you to your purpose and destiny.

When you get before God, ask Him to reveal you to YOU. He will tell you what you are made for, why you are placed where you are, and what His plan is for you, your family, your future and your destiny. I like a quote I heard the other day, "Everything will be all right in the end. If it's not all right, it is not yet the end." LOVE IT.

Goodbye Depression

I saw God literally lifting depression off of people and replacing it with supernatural JOY

It has been a prolonged season of hope deferred that makes hearts sick. When our trust is in God, His joy becomes our strength. There is nothing too hard for Him and our lives become easier and filled with hope. He is the joy and the lifter up of our heads.
There has been a spirit of depression that has settled in over people to discourage and vaporize hope. It's a direct attempt to cause us to lose heart and give up.

David cried out to God
in Psalm 43:5:
Why am I discouraged?
Why is my heart so sad?
I will put my hope in God!
I will praise Him again—
My Savior and my God!

Where are we putting our trust and hope? If God cannot lie and is at work within us to will and to do of His good pleasure, then we have to reposition our hope in Him and not in our circumstances and the world around us.

"Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad." Proverbs12:25

Our hope MUST be in God and Him alone. There are specific prophetic words from God's own mouth that are getting ready to be fulfilled. He has full intention on completed what He has started.

Prayer and Houses of Prayer

God is "shopping". He is looking for people who will gather in His name and cry out to Him in prayer. When people will do this, fires will start and the wind will come and blow this small fire into a massive fire that will set fires around the surrounding regions. God has always been a fan of "humble beginnings" and this is no exception. When people are in agreement and come together in His name, He commands His blessing. Sometimes it doesn't take a lot of people, just people who can agree for His will to be done. "Four of a kind" still beats a "full house".

ElijahList Prophetic Resources

Houses of prayer and meeting times of unified, corporate gatherings for the purpose of prayer will cause the raging battle to cease and the atmosphere and circumstances will turn around immediately. We CANNOT navigate confidently unless we can see clearly. Without hearing clearly, we will definitely make choices that could and would hinder our process moving forward. There is a lot of information coming out from multiple sources that are generating confusion and causing us to become anxious.

Just the other day, God spoke almost in a thundering way, Philippians 4:6-7, "Be anxious for NOTHING at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God. Then the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

When we pray and are thankful making requests to God, PEACE is placed as a guard around our hearts. When we position ourselves before God, He literally GIVES US prayer. In other words, downloads or the things He wants us to declare – proclaim and pray, and then He causes them to happen.

Job 22:28, says, "We shall declare a thing and it shall be established." When we pray corporately, the "fog" lifts and we are able to see what is going on and the course direction we are to take. There is always an anointing on "agreement and unity", where God literally commands His blessing.

When people pray in agreement, healings happen, unresolved conflicts end, finances come, wars stop, evil backs down, people are set free from drugs, alcohol, sex, sins and any other "trap" the devil has fashioned to imprison people.

God is Financing What He Wants Done

I have said before that a huge transference of wealth is coming to those who are positioned to accomplish His purposes.

This is not "chump change". It's millions and millions of dollars for His Kingdom. The recipients of this kind of wealth have already been through the test of the "rich young ruler" and have not set their hearts on money. Psalm 62:10says, "If riches increase, don't set your heart on them." This is a warning so that the financial provision coming to God's people is not squandered but is given to the building of the Kingdom.

Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand, Japan

There is HUGE spotlight over the Hawaiian Islands to be a "refueling station" for the south pacific and Asia. God has seemingly marked this place to pour out His Spirit in the next little while. There is a rekindling of the spark of His Spirit which will ignite the whole region.

Australia and New Zealand are going to be hosts of a massive wave of His Spirit that will sweep all around the world. Japan is a going to experience a "volcanic" eruption of God's Spirit that will transform that place, and waves will go out from there. What exciting days.

Porn No More – Women Are Arising

God is invading this hideous industry. There are teams being raised up to go right into that arena and speak to the hearts of those deceived and caught up in this terribly destructive lifestyle. I saw multitudes of women who are willing to go into this field and be a "mom" to young women who need a mom. It is like an underground stream that will erode away at the "foundation" of this industry.

In the five years our teams have been taking teams into the adult industry, we have seen amazing favor from God on our efforts and He has opened the door for us to speak into the lives of these young people who have been so deceived and persuaded by money and "fame". When the truth about who they really are comes out, whether by interpreting a dream or giving a "spot on" word, their whole countenance changes and the "Truth" reveals a lie. We are watching as these girls make decisions to disconnect from this lifestyle and find their true life path as Jesus picks them up out of the dirt and gives them new life.

God is paving new roadways and we are entering into some of the greatest days of Supernatural expressions we have ever seen.

Miracles will flow easily as God is advancing His Kingdom in this earth and many will come to His light as we go out into places we are sent and to be His mouthpiece to a very dark and desperate world.

My spiritual journey: How my parents & I came to faith in Jesus Christ. Joel Rosenberg

My spiritual journey: How my parents & I came to faith in Jesus Christ.

by joelcrosenberg
Joel-JerusalemAround the world, millions of Jews are celebrating Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. At the same time, Christians around the world have just celebrated GoodFriday and Easter.
In recent days, I've written several column related to these religious holidays, including:
Today, I wanted to share with you some personal thoughts on these important and historic events and holidays, and how they intersect in my life. In this hour-long audio message (divided up in six 10-minute segments on YouTube), I explain the spiritual journey my parents and I were on to come to faith in Jesus Christ, as well as I how I experienced a powerful revival in my junior year of high school that completely transformed my life.
My hope and prayer is that as you listen to the story, it will encourage you in your own faith, and that it will be something you can share with family and friends to help and encourage them, as well. Thanks and may the Lord deeply bless you as you read His Word and seek a personal relationship with Him.

  • Part 2 — how my Jewish grandparents escaped from Russia, my father’s Jewish upbringing, my mother’s Gentile heritage, and how they met
  • Part 3 — my mother’s spiritual journey
  • Part 4 — my father’s spiritual journey, and then how I came to faith
  • Part 5 — how I learned I was Jewish, and then my crisis of faith in high school
  • Part 6 — the conclusion of my story, and so what? Why should any of this matter to you?

The Cry for Spiritual Mothers and Fathers by Steve Porter

The Cry for Spiritual Mothers and Fathers

by Steve Porter

Identity Network

"Even if you had ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel." (1 Corinthians 4:15)

Many people in the church have broken lives and have experienced more rejection and pain than most of us can even imagine. These struggling warriors aren't limited in age; they come from all walks of life, and they're desperate for a nurturing spiritual parent, someone to really care and help them find their identity and victory in Christ. Many are filled with self-doubt, fear, and even shame over the things that haunt their past. They want to bask in the warm glow of God's love, but they feel unworthy. Who will help them?

We should not be afraid to offer the encouragement, love, and support they so desperately need as surrogate spiritual mothers or fathers. In fact, our greatest joy comes when we lift up the fallen, encourage the brokenhearted, and touch others the way Jesus would - we are to be Jesus with skin on, to the world in which we live. That's the reason we're here!

Being a Spiritual Parent

Remember, Jesus himself acted as a spiritual Father to the fallen woman, a young lady with a sinful past. He did not throw stones and condemn her because, in His great love, He wanted to restore her. The Bible is filled with numerous examples of good people who temporarily lost their way but were eventually restored to God - people like Peter and King David, for example.

Many of today's lost children of God feel certain that He could never forgive what they've done. As a result, they walk away from the church and the Lord, feeling unworthy to seek help though they're desperate for it. And believe it or not, some are rejected by church people once they actually muster the courage to return to seek forgiveness.

This is an untenable situation - one God hates. In fact, right now He wants to raise up spiritual mothers and fathers to mentor the broken and lost, to bring healing and hope, to touch, heal and mature them. Our assignment is to refuse to give up on them or let them go until they're whole. This new breed of spiritual parents believes that each and every child of God is far too valuable to the body of Christ to condemn or throw away.

In 1 Corinthians 4:15 Paul himself said this: "…that there were many guardians of Christ but not many fathers." Even after 2000 years, we are still severely lacking in true spiritual mothers and fathers in the church today. Where are they?

It's not hard to minister to these precious wounded warriors. In fact, they eagerly soak up all the love, grace, kindness, gentleness, patience, encouragement, compassion, guidance and forgiveness we can give.

Jesus Christ was the ultimate spiritual Father. He possessed all of these qualities, and, on some level, we all do. After all, we are created in His image. True spiritual parents will lay down their lives for their children, are always willing to help build a child's character and resolve, ready to nurture the special gifts and qualities that others fail to see. Spiritual parents encourage these wounded warriors to make good use of their God-given gifts, and very often show them how. Today God is not only raising up pastors who have true shepherds' hearts, He also wants everyone in the body of Christ to mentor someone else. That's what community should be about.

A spiritual parent has a genuine Christ-like love for others, and wants nothing more than to lift them up, and cheer them on toward spiritual maturity. The mentor has the unique vision and insight for how best to connect with the broken. Once you're called into action by the Holy Spirit, take the hint. Don't be afraid to step out in faith. Once you accept your new role as a parent mentor, God will be with you every step of the way.

Be Supportive and Love Unconditionally

There may be times when the one in your spiritual care wavers or wanders off the path. But it is your duty to be patient, to be supportive while gently wooing them back, and to love them unconditionally, reminding them of their identity in Christ. Many stumble on their way to maturity, but God will be there to support you, to give you the strength to carry on, and the courage to see it through, if you're willing to stay the course.

If your spiritual son or daughter falls, you must offer firm yet loving correction while always communicating your love and hope for them. Be the role model they so desperately need by showing compassion rather than harsh judgment, while demonstrating your steadfast belief that God sees them as winners, victorious in every area. They just need a cheerleader to urge them on, telling them they can do it.

Remember, Paul said this, "Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ." (1 Corinthians 11:1 NIV)

When they fall away, you must pray for them and believe that God won't give up on them, but will grab hold of their hearts and restore them, as long as they repent and seek true restoration. He will heal their wounds, turn their scars into stars and give them the second chance they so desperately need. Wrap your arms around them and show them the love of Christ; weep with them, and listen to them the way few others do.

You don't have to be a biological parent to be a spiritual mother or father. Paul had no children of his own, but he went on to become the greatest example of a father the world has ever seen. Use your past life experiences to offer love, support, and guidance to someone in need.

In the end, there is no greater investment you can make than giving yourself to raise up the fallen and restore them to God. Bandage a wound, hug a neck, and love on the broken. And you may be surprised at how much you are blessed in the process, doing something that will truly count for eternity.

Prayer

Lord, help me to minister to these precious people. Give me the love, grace, kindness, gentleness, patience, encouragement, compassion, guidance and forgiveness for these dear ones.  Enable me to be that spiritual parent with a tender heart to the spiritual children that have no one to love them. Help me to correct them in Love. I refuse to give up or let them go until they're whole and healed. Each and every child of God is far too valuable to the body of Christ to condemn or throw away. Lord, you have no misfits!

Obama: 'Recognizing Israel' Too Much to Ask

Obama: 'Recognizing Israel' Too Much to Ask

AP file photo
JERUSALEM, Israel -- President Obama rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's suggestion that Iran accept Israel's right to exist as part of the emerging nuclear deal, labeling the request a "misjudgment."

Netanyahu had called for a "clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition of Israel's right to exist" as part of any final deal with the Islamic Republic.

"The survival of Israel is non-negotiable," Netanyahu said in response to the framework agreement the president calls a "once in a lifetime" opportunity.

"Just two days ago, Iran said that 'the destruction of Israel is non-negotiable.' And in these fateful days, Iran is accelerating the arming of its terror proxies [Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in the Gaza Strip] to attack Israel," Netanyahu said.

"This deal would legitimize Iran's nuclear program, bolster Iran's economy and increase Iran's aggression and terror throughout the Middle East and beyond," he said.

But Obama says asking Iran to recognize Israel is tantamount to saying "we won't sign a deal unless the nature of the Iranian regime completely transforms."

In a videotaped greeting last month on the celebration of Norwuz, the Persian New Year, Obama called it an historic time for repairing U.S.-Iranian relations.

Fisherman Recalls Miraculous 66-Day Survival at Sea

Fisherman Recalls Miraculous 66-Day Survival at Sea

Louis Jordan's adventure at sea is being called an unbelievable tale of survival. The fisherman survived 66 days in the Atlantic Ocean on a broken boat.

The 37-year-old was reunited with his family this weekend after a freighter spotted him on his disabled sailboat and rescued him some 200 miles off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina. The U.S. Coast Guard then lifted Jordan onto a helicopter and flew him to a hospital.

Jordan's ordeal began on Jan. 23 when he set out to fish from South Carolina. His fishing trip went wrong when a giant wave hit his boat in the middle of the night.

"My boat got capsized, the boat flipped around, did a 180 on me, while I was sleeping at night," Jordan recalled.

"I woke up in the middle of the night, and I was flying through the air somersaulting, and all my junk, and all my equipment, all my GPS devices, even my stove, had dislodged and it was flying with me. We are all rolling around in this water," he said.

Jordan injured his shoulder, but survived nearly 10 weeks by rationing his water and food. He caught fish and drank rain water to stay alive. He told reporters he read the Bible to help pass the time at sea.

"I have never prayed that much," Jordan said.

His parents did report him missing, but the search was called off after 10 days.

Louis' father said he was just beginning to accept that his son was dead. With that, it was an absolute shock to learn Louis was alive.

"I started to think, it's over, I lost my son," Frank Jordan said.

At their reunion this weekend, Jordan's mother, Norma Davis, was in tears.

"It was wonderful," she said. "My baby had come home."

Mystery Picture: A Fountain Found and a Windmill Disappears

Israel's History - a Picture a Day (Beta)

Posted: 06 Apr 2015
Several excellent answers were received giving the location to our latest mystery picture. But where's the windmill?

One caption in the Ottoman Archives labels this picture as the Ottoman Train Station Opening Ceremony. Another identifies it as the dedication of the Fountain in 1902. (Ottoman Imperial Archives)

As pointed out by several readers, the location is the public sabil (public fountain) above the Braichat HaSultan (Sultan's Pool) valley outside of Jerusalem's Old City, on the road between Jerusalem and Bethlehem. The event is the public (re)dedication of the fountain, one of seven built by Suleiman the Magnificent in the 16th century.

Simon provided a contemporary photo and this explanation:  It would be hard and dangerous to take a picture from the same location as today's mystery photo, because you would need to stand in the middle of a very busy road. In fact you would need to crouch down, because the level of the street has obviously risen since the photo was taken.

This screen capture from Google Maps Street View is very close though: Mishkenot Sha'ananim, the arch of the drinking fountain at the end of Sultan's pool, and the Sephardic synagogue in Yemin Moshe can all be seen in both pictures. I'm not sure why the Montefiore windmill isn't visible in the old picture -- either it's behind the flag or it blends into the background.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see where the picture was doctored: the fancy pediment on top of the drinking fountain looks like a wooden attachment made at the time, not photo-doctoring.

Google Street View picture of the site today. Note the windmill of Yemin Moshe

Jonathan added:  Suleiman the Magnificent's fountain "sabil" on Hebron Road (technically the dam at the southern end of the Sultan's Pool). Built in 1536. The entablature above the sabil is not original and was added by the editor. Mishkenot Shaananim is in the background.

What's missing in the Ottoman picture? A whole windmill!

The same dedication ceremony before the 114-year-old Ottoman version of "Photoshop"
 (Harvard, Central Zionist Archives)
Why was the windmill, built for the Jewish community in 1857, removed from the Ottoman picture?  Perhaps because the imposing structure overshadowed the fountain.

We thank Martin for this additional view of the fountain (below), taken from the Sultan's Pool. The hand-colored picture is from Chatham University's collection of Jerusalem pictures.

The fountain is in the center of the dam beneath St. Andrew's Church and St. John's Eye Hospital (today the Mt. Zion Hotel)
