All Wound Up by Elaine Tavolacci

The Holy Spirit brought me back to a prophetic word that I shared some time ago. He showed me a picture of a multitude of people with wind up keys on their backs walking around like wind up dolls. Each person was walking in a different direction. Some people were walking to and fro wandering aimlessly without hope and some were being swayed in the wrong direction. 

Some were lagging behind while others appeared to be in a trance of fear. There were some walking in a circular motion not realizing that they weren't going anywhere, just like a hamster running around on a wheel. Many were distraught as they were going through fiery trials.

But then I saw those who were marching with determination knowing exactly what their destination was as they were trusting Jesus. They marched on with courage and confidence. They had fire in their eyes, and the Word of God as a sword in their mouths. They stood upright, they were bold and radical in their faith, and they were steadfast in what they believed. They seemed to have a protective shield around them as every fiery dart that came against them was extinguished. They were not swayed by adverse circumstances or evil reports, but they stood on the word of God. 

What are You Wound Up In?

I asked The Lord what this meant and this is what He showed me. Every person in the universe is walking around wound up in different situations. Some people are wound up in worries, some are wound up in confusion, some are caught up in the love of money and many are wound up in fear. But then there is the remnant who are stirred up in faith, stirred up in joy, and they continue to stir themselves up spiritually by praying in the Spirit. 

The Lord says, allow Me to unwind you from the pressures that so easily beset you. Do not fear this dilemma that seems to be too large for you to handle in the natural, and allow Me to release you from the tormenting anxiety and confusion in your mind. Trust in Me to provide all your needs in every area. 

Allow Me to remove the burdens from your heart as you are entangled in complicated situations. Those of you who are fatigued from the cares and the weights of the world, come and rest in Me and I will restore your energy and revive you physically. 

Take your eyes off the circumstances around you and allow Me to direct your path. Trust in Me when all else fails. Don't allow worry or fear to overtake you. I will release you from this distress as you position yourself and come into the secret place of My presence. Be bold and be strong, as you follow My leading. Allow Me to stir up and resurrect those dreams that have faded away through discouragement.

As you put your trust in Me, you will gain the tenacity to become steadfast once again and pursue the plans that you have been contending for. You will then have the endurance to run the race with determination and strength. Keep your focus on My Word rather than the way that your situations appear in the natural.

Staying Steadfast

Everything in the natural is subject to change. I am the God of restoration and nothing is impossible with Me. As you stay steadfast in these trying times, you will come forth as gold. I Am your deliverer, I Am the God of your destiny and I Am with you in the fire of affliction. Although it may look like the waves of adversity are pulling you in a vortex, fear not. Rejoice and know that this too will come to pass and know that I will bring you in to My plans and purposes for your life. 

As you trust Me, that very thing that is coming against you will be your greatest testimony. Stir yourself up once again, and I will bring you out stronger as you endure and put your faith in Me says the Lord.

1 Samuel 30:6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

1 Peter 4:12 -13 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Jude 1:20-21 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

My Dream of the Courtroom

I found myself sitting in what can only be described as a frantic "courtroom". I sat and watched as one witness after another presented their evidence.

One came forward and shouted with tears, "Look at this wickedness!" I looked and saw horrific pictures of dead babies and children.

Then another came and shouted, "Look at this greed."

Then another, "Look at this pride."

Then another, "Look at this corruption."

This went on as more and more irrefutable evidence of guilt was given. It got to the point that the courtroom was in a frenzy of outrage. Yet the high Judge just sat and listened until every accusation had been given and all the evidence had been submitted.

Once all this was done He still sat silent. All the people stood and chanted, "Guilty, guilty. Judge them, judge them!"

Finally, with a loud voice the Judge said,"Silence!" Immediately every person became silent and sat down. (Photo via flickr)

The Judge spoke and said, "I have heard all and seen all. The guilt of these lands of the United States of America is indeed great! I have decided judgment is indeed due and right!"

The people cheered, and He commanded them to be silent! "Before I pass My judgment, I have one last witness. Can the Holy Spirit take the stand please?"

An old woman came forward. She was old but not frail in any way. Her eyes shone as she stood in the stand.

The Judge spoke, "Do you have your evidence?"

"I do indeed," and she pointed to the video screen. There appeared an image of a small child on her knees praying, then a teenager and then an adult. Image after image appeared of more and more Believers of every age, class and race falling to their knees in prayer, then the screen went black.

The Judge spoke, "Is this the last of your evidence?"

The old woman responded, "Yes!"

"Please step down," the Judge replied.

All eyes in the room were fixed on Him. "Your evidence is indeed compelling, yet the guilt of this land is indeed great, in fact it grows daily; I have therefore chosen judgment."

The Judge's Verdict

He placed a black cap over His head, took the gavel in His hand and struck the sound block and said, "I find this land worthy of... a great revival, the likes of which has never been seen before or will be seen again!" (Photo via flickr)

As He said this, Blood poured forth from His throne and swept every accuser out of the room. I then saw a map of the United States going up in flames as God began the answer to the prayers of His burning ones.

The Lord spoke and said, "The guilt of this land is indeed great, but My praying Church and My shed Blood is greater! So I grant a great revival that will take every street, town and city. For I will not have the cries of My people unheard.

"This land will arise and she will indeed shine! In what seems to be her darkest hour, she shall shine at her brightest!"

"Who Rules? A Vision Concerning Washington D.C."

The vision God gave me concerning Washington D.C. which healed anger and fear:

It occurred during my morning journaling time as I asked God to show me His heavenly perspective and how HE saw Washington D.C. It was a life-changing experience!

Seeing evil: I looked in my mind's eye at Washington D.C. and all I wascorruption, lack of integrity and ineptness. It made me angry and it made me fearful: Angry because no one would stand up and do the right thing, and fearful because their terrible spending habits could destroy the entire economy.

Feeling evil: I realized that anger and fear were not proper fruit in my life, so I decided to journal about this in my morning devotions. I asked Jesus to show up in the picture of Washington in my mind. What I was viewing did not have Jesus in it, so it obviously was a lie since Jesus is everywhere, and because it was a lie, it was producing some pretty ugly emotions.

Seeing Jesus: I put a smile on my face, relaxed, and asked Jesus to show me where He was in the scene. Into my mind flowed a picture of Jesus enthroned on a throne above Congress and the White House. Hearing Jesus: He spoke, "I rule in Washington D.C."

Reflection: Well, of course He does. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. And yes, I sure don't know why He puts certain people over us, but the Roman government was far worse than our government, and yet Jesus was clear that they had no power other than what God granted them.

So Pilate said to Him, "Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?" Jesus answered, "You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above." John 19:10-11

I said, "Yes, but God, they are removing You from all institutions in America!"

God reminds me of His reaction in Scripture to the identical situation...

Why are the nations in an uproar and the peoples devising a vain thing? The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers take counsel together against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying, "Let us tear their fetters apart and cast away their cords from us!" Psalm 2:1-3

Will God ever be removed? The nations in David's day were also attempting to remove God from their lives – throw off His moral restraints so they would have no cords to bind them, and they could do anything they pleased.

Well, God wasn't too concerned about their puny efforts...

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; Jehovah shall mock at them. Then He shall speak to them in His anger, and trouble them in His wrath.Psalm 2:4-5

You know, if God can laugh, then I can, too. Laughter is so much better than getting all down in the dumps and getting fearful, angry and depressed. So guess what? I have decided to laugh and set aside my fear, anger and depression, and I highly recommend you do so, too. Taking authority: I can also ask for the nations to become the Lord's, which I do!

Ask of Me, and I shall give the nations for Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth for Your possession. Psalm 2:8

Church, let's rise up with a victory shout and declare the truth: The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof (Psalm 24:1). and the Most High is Ruler over the realm of mankind (Daniel 4:17)!

There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace! Isaiah 9:7

If The Economy Is Fine, Why Are So Many Hedge Funds, Energy Companies And Large Retailers Imploding?  MICHAEL SYNDER  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG Posted: 18 Nov 2015 04:06 PM PST If the U.S. economy really is in “great shape”, then why do all of the numbers keep telling us that we are in a recession?  The manufacturing numbers say that we are in a recession, the trade numbers say that we are in a recession, and as you will see below the retail numbers say that we are in a recession.  But just like in 2008, the Federal Reserve and our top politicians will continue to deny that a major economic downturn is happening for as long as they possibly can.  In this article, I want to look at more signs that a dramatic shift is happening in our economy right now. First of all, let’s consider what is happening to hedge funds.  For many years, hedge funds had been doing extremely well, but now they are closing up shop at a pace that we haven’t seen since the last financial crisis.  The following is an excerpt from a Business Insider article entitled “Hedge funds keep on imploding” that was posted on Wednesday… BlackRock is winding down its Global Ascent Fund, a global macro hedge fund that once contained $4.6 billion in assets, according to Bloomberg’s Sabrina Willmer. “We believe that redeeming the Global Ascent Fund was the right thing to do for our clients, given the headwinds that macro funds have faced,” a BlackRock spokeswoman told Business Insider. The winding down of the Ascent fund is the second high-profile hedge fund closing in 24 hours. The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that Achievement Asset Management, a Chicago-based hedge fund, was closing. And those are just two examples.  Quite a few other prominent hedge funds have shut down recently, and many are wondering if this is just the beginning of a major “bloodbath” on Wall Street. Another troubling sign is the implosion of so many energy companies.  Just like in 2008, a major crash in the price of oil is hitting the energy sector really hard.  Just check out these stock price declines… -Cabot Oil & Gas down 37.27 percent over the past 12 months -Southwestern Energy down 68.11 percent over the past 12 months -Chesapeake Energy down 73.98 percent over the past 12 months A number of smaller energy companies have already gone out of business, and several of the big players are teetering on the brink.  If the price of oil does not rebound significantly very soon, it is just a matter of time before the dominoes begin to fall. We are also seeing tremendous turmoil in the retail industry.  The following comes from Investment Research Dynamics… The retail sales report for October was much worse than expected.  Not only that, but the Government’s original estimates for retail sales in August and September were revised lower.  A colleague of mine said he was chatting with his brother, who is a tax advisor, this past weekend who said he doesn’t understand how the Government can say the economy is growing (Hillary Clinton recently gave the economy an “A”) because his clients are lowering their estimated tax payments.  Businesses lower their estimated tax payments when their business activity slows down. The holiday season is always the best time of the year for retailers, but in 2015 there is a lot of talk of gloom and doom.  Most large retailers will not start announcing mass store closings until January or February, but without a doubt many analysts are anticipating that once we get past the Christmas shopping season we will see stores shut down at a pace that we haven’t seen since at least 2009.  Here is more from the article that I just quoted above… Retail sales this holiday season are setting up to be a disaster.  Already most retailers are advertising “pre-Black Friday” sales events.  Remember when holiday shopping didn’t begin, period, until the day after Thanksgiving?  Now retailers are going to cannibalize each other with massive discounting beforeThanksgiving.  Anybody notice over the weekend that BMW is now offering $6500 price rebates?   The collapsing economy is affecting everyone, across all income demographics. Last week we saw the stocks of Macy’s, Nordstrom and Advance Auto Parts do cliff-dives after they announced their earnings.  I mentioned to a colleague that the Nordstrom’s report should be the most troubling for analysts.  Nordstrom in their investor conference call said that they began seeing an “unexplainable slowdown in sales in August in transactions across all formats, across all catagories and across all geographies that has yet to recover.”   I think that a chart would be helpful to give you an idea of how bad things have already gotten.  Jim Quinn shared this in an article that he just posted, and it shows the change in retail sales once you remove the numbers for the auto industry.  As you can see, the numbers have never been this dreadful outside of a recession… But stocks went up 247 points on Wednesday so everything must be great, right? Wrong. The stock market has never been a good barometer for the overall economy, and this is especially true these days. In 2008, stocks didn’t crash until well after the U.S. economy as a whole started crashing, and the same thing is apparently happening this time around as well. One of the things that is keeping stocks afloat for the moment is stock buybacks.  In recent years, big corporations have spent hundreds of billions of dollars buying back their own stocks.  The following comes from Wolf Richter… IBM has blown $125 billion on buybacks since 2005, more than the $111 billion it invested in capital expenditures and R&D. It’s staggering under its debt, while revenues have been declining for 14 quarters in a row. It cut its workforce by 55,000 people since 2012. And its stock is down 38% since March 2013. Big-pharma icon Pfizer plowed $139 billion into buybacks and dividends in the past decade, compared to $82 billion in R&D and $18 billion in capital spending. 3M spent $48 billion on buybacks and dividends, and $30 billion on R&D and capital expenditures. They’re all doing it. Later in that same article, Richter explains that almost 60 percent of all publicly traded non-financial corporations have engaged in stock buybacks over the past five years… Nearly 60% of the 3,297 publicly traded non-financial US companies Reuters analyzed have engaged in share buybacks since 2010. Last year, the money spent on buybacks and dividends exceeded net income for the first time in a non-recession period. Big corporations like to do this for a couple of reasons.  Number one, it pushes the price of the stock higher, and current investors appreciate that.  Number two, corporate executives are usually in favor of conducting stock buybacks because it increases the value of their stock options and their own stock holdings. But now corporate profits are falling and it is becoming tougher for big corporations to borrow money.  So look for stock buybacks to start to decline significantly. Even though it is taking a bit longer than many would have anticipated, the truth is that we are right on track for a massive financial collapse. All of the indicators that I watch are flashing red, and even though things are moving slowly, they are definitely moving in the same direction that we saw in 2008. But just like in 2008, there will be people that mock the warnings up until the day when it becomes completely and utterly apparent that the mockers were dead wrong.

My Gut Says Yes, but the Holy Spirit Says NO

If I seek to be a spirit-led leader, I must expect to hear the Holy Spirit say "no."

"They went throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia and were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. When they came near Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not allow them" (Acts 16:6-7).

Imagine the work of Paul and his missionary team in preparation to enter into Phrygia. Surely they had a strategy. The region was not unknown to them and the culture was probably one they understood well. The region seemed like a perfect opportunity for a church plant. We read later in Acts 19 verse 10 that the region was indeed a fertile ground for ministry.

"All who lived in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus."

It's not always easy to understand a "no." But we do have insight into the direction of the Holy Spirit in this case. Perhaps the Holy Spirit knew the time was critical for Paul to meet Dr. Luke. Perhaps the ministry in Macedonia was more important in a timing sense.

I wonder how many ministers and leaders miss a "no" from the Holy Spirit. World history would have been impacted had Paul not been obedient in this one seemingly simple decision to "obey" a "no." Many leaders are challenged when they hear the word "no." Some see "no" as an invitation to press on and find a way. For some, "no" is simply a suggestion.

The difference is that Paul heard a spiritual "no." We don't know how Paul heard from God, we only know that he did. We also know Paul moved with instant obedience to the Holy Spirit.

As we lead our organizations, we must develop confidence in our knowledge that we hear God. We must stay open and willing to hear the word "no."

We must sharpen our eyes and ears and soften our hearts to become willing to hear that our big idea isn't of the Lord. He protects us from ourselves. If we truly expect to receive the favor of God, we must be ready to hear Him say, "No, my son. Not at this time. Check back with me in another season."

Help us, Lord, to receive the favor of a "no."

"Build your audience first, then create your product." My favorite section of the book addresses "content tilting." There is always a niche for your message.

We only need to find the intersection between our heart and a unique message arc.
