Zebra, Moon & Truck. What? - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Zebra, Moon & Truck.
What?

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.” (1 Corinthians 2:13 NKJV)

It is a snow and ice day here in Charlotte, NC this January day. No uptown office open for work. Schools are shut down. After all, there is an inch of snow on the ground. I love how this global warming fantasy hits us! (But in all fairness to Charlotteans and many Carolinians, there is a ¼” of ice under the snow. Treacherous.)

So great! I can write another Now Think On This message!

This past week I attended the Wednesday night classes our church, MorningStar (Rick Joyner) in Fort Mill, SC, started up again with the new year. Being I want to have the Holy Spirit more develop the prophetic gift He has given me in some measure, with further training, I selected the “Prophetic 101” six week course. There was a good turnout. People are getting more hungry for His Word.It will be an hour of power.

After listening to a time of instruction, which I had familiarity with much of it already, the teacher asked us to pray a short moment at our tables. (We use tables rather than rows of chairs. Works good in getting to know others.) She said to then write down words or phrases that the Holy Spirit would give us, with us assuming and believing that we would then share them with another, as something to encourage them with.

So I did. (I was always a good student!)

As you will see in the photo, I wrote in one column down the left hand side of the page the following words:

Zebra, moon, blue, river, truck, anticipation, songbird, elation, joyful, and simplify.

What?

I had no idea what they meant, or stood for. I knew the Holy Spirit knew, for He normally either gives me a “prophetic word” as a picture in my mind whenever I receive a prophetic word, to start with, or just one word, as a word of knowledge (literally, right?)

Then the instructor told us that those words or phrases we had written down were actually for us. Oh really? Nice. Now I was certainly intrigued. This class will be good I thought.

As I usually do, I shared the words with Laurie once I got home, and being past my bedtime, dutifully went to bed. I would have to ponder over the words in the days to come.

Well, that was three days ago, and I had just initially put the words in my “Prophetic Words 2016” 3-ring binder, along with other personal ones from 2015. But this morning I took them out of the protective plastic sleeve and asked the Holy Spirit to give me further revelation. He did.

Zebra” to me represents black and white. I am a “black and white” guy. No gray in my character, or so I hope. Others, even my boss at Derek Prince Ministries back in the day, once told me I was “too black and white.” At the time he wasn’t congratulating me. (Basically, I was be asked to “expand” my viewpoint in a situation, as he saw it.) I still see things either black or white.

Moon” – well, I desire to reflect the Son. I hope we all have that heart’s desire within us, and that we shine in the darkness growing all around us.

“Blue” – the color blue in spiritual, prophetic words represents “prophetic”. I want to grow in that gift of the Holy Spirit. Thus the weekly Wednesday night class attendance for me.

River” – may the Holy Spirit’s “river of life” flow through us, bringing His refreshing and provision!

Truck” – moving in ministry should be our desire - to have that “vehicle” to hear and then obey the Lord as we move forward. I want a big truck!

Anticipation” – without hope our vision fails us. Without having an anticipation for what the good Lord has planned and purposed for us will leave us in discouragement, defeat, and ultimate death in our walk with Jesus (Yeshua).

Songbird” – one who is singing praise, proclamations and declarations of the Lord. Yes! Love it! May we have a heart of worship towards the Risen King of Israel and the nations.

Elation” – not sure on this one yet. Any advice out there?

Joyful” – a fruit of the Holy Spirit. May His joy be ours, so we can be overcomers in all that we will face today, and tomorrow, with His grace and power.

Simplify” – the times are coming when we will have to simplify our lives, not only for ourselves, but also our families. “The times they are a changin’” as Bob Dylan sang in 1964. Even more so in our time, and we best get ready for it. This won’t be our daddy’s lifestyle for that which lies ahead of us. We will have to cut back in our consumption of worldly goods, and be ready to share what we have more so with others.

Ask Him to speak to you today. He certainly wants to. Together we need more of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We need You daily Lord, so we can hear and obey.

More Lord. We need more of You.

So think on this, with the compassionate love of the Lord,

9 Signs of the Modern-Day Remnant Church - JOSEPH MATTERA CHARISMA NEWS

9 Signs of the Modern-Day Remnant Church

As the persecution of the Bible-believing church becomes more intense, there will be a greater manifestation of what I am referring to in this article as the "remnant church." By remnant church, I am referring to the surviving vestige of the body of Christ that remains true to biblical principles in spite of cultural opposition.
There is always a true remnant left during times of apostasy and persecution. Elijah the prophet found out that God always preserved a remnant, by His grace, that held true to the faith (1 Kin. 19 and Rom. 11:2-5). By remnant church, I am not merely referring to so-called "cultural warrior" churches who seem to always be battling for a cause (which can be part of it, although the gospel is always much bigger than one social cause).
I am also not referring to so-called Christian churches that do idiotic things (like burning the Quran) or exhibit intentionally hostile (and un-Christlike) behavior by so-called churches (such as the Westboro Baptist Church). (I cringe even calling this group of hate-mongers a church.) I am, however, referring to those of plain and simple faith and obedience to the Word of God, which is practiced by humble, people-loving, community-serving, compassionate churches that do not compromise the Word of God.
The following are characteristics of the modern-day remnant church:
  1. They will become more entrenched in the Word of God the more the world opposes them.
The more resistance they face, the more the remnant church will become resolute in their faith (sort of like the way the muscles in our body get harder with resistance training). Instead of compromising the message of the Word, they may change their method of presenting the gospel but will never even consider watering down biblical ethics, values and the message of the cross of Jesus Christ.
  1. They will become the vilified in society.
The remnant church used to be merely unpopular in the past but has now gotten to the point where they are hated. It is very apparent that Christian values are constantly mocked, such as by popular voices like Bill Maher, Rachel Maddow and the like. This can give you an idea on how popular it is to hate biblical Christianity.
  1. They will preach countercultural biblical messages.
The remnant pastors will continue to preach the gospel of Christ, which always has vast implications related to human sexuality, the sanctity of human life, the definition of marriage and family and such; albeit, they should apply the gospel to cultural issues in a wiser, more winsome way. The remnant church will remain faithful in preaching the gospel in spite of the possible backlash they can receive from church attendees and or the public.
  1. They will produce the most committed Christians and make disciples.
It is a known fact that liberal, progressive, compromising churches are shrinking, while conservative evangelical churches are the ones growing in numbers. Also, when a church is on the tip of the spear in regards to biblical truth, it is able to produce disciples because it takes great sacrifice to believe in Jesus in the midst of hostile environments. Consider the Christians still living in Iraq, Syria, Iran, Northern Nigeria, Sudan and similar persecutory regions. Compromising churches produce wimpy believers and the remnant church produces committed disciples.
  1. They will experience a greater presence and power of God than other churches.
The first-century church was a hated minority, yet the great power and presence of God that accompanied its ministry (Acts 3-5)! I have found the more difficult it is to confess the truth of the gospel, the more God shows off His glory! Where sin abounds, grace does more abound (Rom. 5:20).
  1. They will become more visible and distinct as the culture becomes more decadent.
I believe that in any entity, secular or religious, about 25 percent of its members are the most committed to its vision and mission. They are the ones willing to endure the most pain for the cause. That means that most of the people in any entity detach when the going gets tough. From this we can expect that the harder it becomes for the church to practice biblical Christianity, the more evident it will become who the remnant church is.
  1. They will be more excluded and separated from mainstream secular evangelical churches and denominations.
The more uncool it becomes to be a biblical church, the more the so-called cool (or, as I call them, compromising) churches will distance themselves from the remnant church. Presently, it is still not as easy for the average person to discern between remnant and compromising churches. (Most folks still lump us all together.)
However, as the heat gets turned up more and more, compromising pastors and churches will choose to accommodate culture and compromise Scripture, thus making a clearer distinction between the remnant and mainstream church. Not only that, these (compromising) pastors and churches will continue to do their best to distance themselves in public from remnant pastors and churches. (This is what happened in Nazi Germany when the nationalistic churches separated from the confessing churches to avoid persecution and death.)
  1. The remnant church will change the world.
Sometimes God allows difficult circumstances to weed out the uncommitted followers from the committed followers. (Read the story of Gideon's army of 300 in Judges 7.) As it was during the days of Elijah, the early church period and the time of the Confessing Remnant Church in Nazi Germany, only the remnant has what it takes to change the world! Only the remnant church has the conviction, the sacrifice, the devotion, the endurance, the message and the power to change the world. The compromising church will enjoy their temporary popularity in the present time, but those who are wise and turn many people unto righteousness will shine as the stars forever and ever (Dan. 12:3).
  1. The remnant church will endure while the compromising church will fade away.
In Malachi 3:16-18 God promises that He has written a book of remembrance for those who speak of Him and fear His Name. The reward for them (the remnant) is that He will spare them as a man spares his son. The implications of this are vast. While the spiritual children of the compromising church will probably become agnostic, the children of the remnant will carry the torch of Christ to the next generation, which will increase in strength and do greater works (John 14:12). The remnant church goes from strength to strength and faith to faith (Rom. 1:17). Meanwhile, the compromising church goes from strength to weakness and from faith to apostasy and eventually into oblivion.
May God help us all remain faithful to the end and participate in the remnant church.

EU to Give Palestinians 9.5 Billion Euros to Build Arab Settlements in Judea and Samaria - BIN

EU to Give Palestinians 9.5 Billion Euros to Build Arab Settlements in Judea and Samaria

“And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them: ‘If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, my heart shall be knit unto you; but if ye be come to betray me to mine adversaries, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and give judgment.'” (1 Chronicles 12:18)
In an agreement reached yesterday between the European Union (EU) and the Palestinian Ministry of Local Government, the EU agreed to provide approximately two million euros in grants towards social infrastructure projects in Area C. The region referred to as Area C is comprised of sections of Judea and Samaria that are still under full Israeli control.
“The European Union is committed to continuing its work in Area C on two fronts—humanitarian assistance and development,” explained EU Representative Ralph Tarraf.
“The EU provides humanitarian assistance to Area C communities in need in accordance with the humanitarian imperative,” continued Tarraf. “The EU is also working with the Palestinian Authority to develop Area C and to support Palestinians living there.”
Although Tarraf stressed the EU’s commitment towards providing both humanitarian and developmental assistance to Palestinians, the EU assistance package totaling 9.5 million euros is primarily geared towards “master plans” of developmental assistance rather than humanitarian assistance to Palestinian communities in Area C.
“The ‘master plans’ are more of a developmental approach on how to develop the communities, such as providing water networks to the people living there,” EU Palestinian Delegation’s Communication Officer, Shadi Othman told Tazpit Press Service (TPS).
The “master plans” have been developed in coordination with the EU and with Palestinian localities.
“They don’t have a zoning plan for the community so the EU works with the communities and with other donors and organizations to develop these ‘master plans’ in the first phase and to be sure that they are in line with all the requirements. It then submits them to the Israelis,” elaborated Othman to TPS.
The first package of EU assistance will provide funding for 15 social infrastructure projects in nine Palestinian communities thus supporting approximately 3,000 Palestinians. The social infrastructure projects include financial assistance for kindergartens, water networks, roads, playgrounds, and additional classrooms.
Othman told TPS that despite the absence of Israeli opposition to the development of “master plans,” Israel still requires that such plans be submitted for approval.
NO to BDS and YES to Israel!
“The Israeli government has said that it does not oppose Palestinian development in Area C in principle, but it still asked for ‘master plans’ to be submitted,” he said.
Othman also explained to TPS that the the structures that have been built from such plans have not been targeted by recent demolitions of illegal Palestinian buildings in Area C.
“So far, the projects that were demolished have to do with humanitarian assistance packages provided by the EU,” Othman noted to TPS. “We’re talking about ten shelters or caravans in some cases that were confiscated. We are in touch with the Israeli government about that and we have an open dialogue about these issues.”
Othman said that these developmental projects in Area C fall in line with the EU’s statement of expectations for both Israel and the Palestinians that was released earlier this week.
“There was a clear call by the EU Council and the 28 EU foreign ministers in their conclusions this past Monday to allow for social and economic development in Area C,” Othman explained to TPS.
This was also expressed by EU Representative Tarraf earlier yesterday.  “I would like to reiterate Monday’s Foreign Affairs Council conclusions. EU foreign ministers emphasized that a fundamental change of policy by Israel with regard to the occupied Palestinian territory, particularly in Area C, would significantly increase economic opportunities, empower Palestinian institutions, and enhance stability and security for both Israelis and Palestinians,” Othman said.
Othman told TPS that the request for a “fundamental change of policy” calls upon Israel to allow for many more social infrastructure projects to be developed.
“The EU believes that Israel has the responsibility to facilitate, accelerate, and allow for all forms of development in Area C, whether social or economic,” Othman told TPS. “For the EU, Area C remains part of occupied territory of the West Bank [Judea and Samaria] and without it, there will be no Palestinian state.”

Shabbat Inspiration

In today's verse from this week's Torah portion (Exodus 13:17-17:16), the Jewish people are not questioning their faith in God. Rather they are wondering to what extent God is involved in their everyday lives. This question was a natural outgrowth of the presiding worldview regarding God's interaction with Man. In Egypt, and civilization in general, God and nature were viewed as static, with unchanging rules governing nature. The newly freed Children of Israel are therefore challenging God's involvement in day-to-day affairs. In turn, God is educating the Nation about His supremacy and control over nature and all the workings of the world. God created water and it is in God's control to give it forth or to withhold it. This message becomes embedded in the psyche of the Chosen Nation and its practical application bears fruit in the Chosen Land where the Jews pray daily for God to water the earth. After Years of Demonic Abuse, Pastor Saeed's True Condition Revealed - CBN NEWS CHARISMA NEWS

After Years of Demonic Abuse, Pastor Saeed's True Condition Revealed

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Pastor Saeed Abedini is in good physical, spiritual, and emotional health just a few days after his release from an Iranian prison, Rep. Robert Pittenger told CBN News.
Pittenger met with Abedini Tuesday afternoon. The two men talked and prayed together for about an hour-and-a-half.
"His spirits are great. He looked in good physical health," Pittenger said. "I think he's come out of it very well, mentally, physically, emotionally—he's engaged."
The North Carolina congressman flew to Landstuhl, Germany, as part of a delegation to meet Abedini and three other freed Americans. He's been a public advocate for the pastor's release since 2013.
For the most part, Saeed was kept in isolation, but in the past six months the Iranians began to give him better food and treatment.
Pittenger believes that's because they planned to release him once the Obama administration's nuclear deal with Iran was finalized.
"I think the Iranians had probably predetermined they were going to be releasing him, so they took good care of him, I think, the last six months," Pittenger said. "I think they treated him very well and fed him well to make sure he was fattened up and looked good."
Abedini is unsure of his immediate plans but is seeking God's will for his life and his future.
"He is very close to the Lord, we had a wonderful time of prayer. He senses God's calling on his life and he wants to please Him by way of his life and his family first," Pittenger said.
"He prayed very sincerely that he wants to be God's person and he wanted to be responsive to His will in his life and wants to be the caring husband that he desires to be," he said.
The Abedini family faces difficulties upon his return. Saeed's wife, Naghmeh, revealed recently they have struggled in their marriage. An email alleging emotional and verbal abuse by Saeed was published in media reports last year.
Naghmeh admits there will be difficult days ahead as the family seeks a time of healing.
"The reality is that we are not heroes. Jesus is the only hero. He is our only example, and we are broken people with issues," she told CBN News hours after her husband's release.
Watch Naghmeh's full interview with CBN News here: Pastor Saeed home in USA
Pittenger took a pastoral tone when addressing the circumstances.
"It stands in the hand of a healing Jesus. Jesus is in the business of reconstruction," he said. "We come as imperfect vessels to the throne and the grace of God. ... I know he desires to be with his family and be right by the Lord and be right by them, and as I said this is a healing process."
Earlier, Pittenger told CBN News that this phase is very critical for the released prisoners.
"They've come out of a very oppressive environment where they were, for the most part, left in isolation—had a lot of mental torture—and this will take time to process out and help them," he said.
"They've been in a very demonic atmosphere and it's been very oppressive," he said. "The transition in their life is going to be extraordinary. So, just being able to communicate, be back with their families, is going to be a real challenge. This is going to be a very hard process."
Pittenger has been calling for Abedini's freedom since 2013. Evangelist Franklin Graham, who heads the Charlotte-based Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, played a role in enlisting him to the cause.
"Franklin has been a good friend of Mrs. Abedini's through this period. I was encouraged to get involved because of Franklin and also because of Dr. David Chadwick in Charlotte, the pastor of Forest Hill Church. So my interest is there because they asked me to get involved," he said.

Five Spiritual Trends That Will Change the World in 2016 - Rick Joyner MORNINGSTAR

Five Spiritual Trends That Will Change
The World in 2016
By Rick Joyner

Printer-friendly version

MorningStar Prophetic Bulletin #97 - January 21, 2016

The premise of my last Prophetic Bulletin on the five trends that would change the natural world in 2016 began unfolding faster and with more impact than I expected. I wrote that it would happen in the first quarter of this year, but I honestly did not expect it to begin on the first day as it did. My prayer now is that what I’ve been shown that will unfold in the Spirit will likewise come faster and with greater impact. What is coming in the Spirit is the antidote to the troubles of the world. It is far more exciting than anything the world has seen.
We all “see in part,” but these are the five most important trends I saw unfolding that we will begin to see emerging this year:
  • A new reformation of the church will begin to take definition.
  • Councils of leaders will begin to form with true apostolic authority.
  • A kingdom economy will begin to form.
  • A new generation of prophets and teachers will begin to emerge with unprecedented authority and influence
  • So many Christians will rise up in Europe and North America with zeal and focus that it will be recognized as another Great Awakening, while the moves of God in the rest of the world will gain new traction.
A New Reformation of the Church Will Begin to Take Definition
I have been seeing and speaking on this for many years. Over time, I have seen more of what this will look like. One of the biggest changes with the greatest impact will be the body of Christ beginning to take on the military aspects we are called to have to become the army of the Lord we are called to be. I just published a book on this entitled, Army of the Dawn. One pastor just told me he thought this was my best book yet. That is a matter of perspective and also timeliness, but I know its message is on time. We will see the greatest force for the gospel since the Lord Himself walked the earth. Since this book has already received wide distribution, I will not say any more about this here.
The second aspect of this reformation I was shown is how the body of Christ will become the “city” it’s called to be. A change is coming to church life that will be more profound than we have yet seen. It will be based more on koinonia than ecclesia. This does not negate the need for ecclesia (the government and structure of the church), but according to I John 1:7, we abide in the light by having koinonia, not ecclesia.Koinonia determines if we are walking in the light because it is based on love first, not organization first. Again, this is not negating the need for organization and government, but it is a matter of getting the horse in front of the cart and building on the right foundation. The result will be spectacular.
The fellowship and union coming to the body of Christ will cause the church to be the “city set on a hill” that gets everyone’s attention. It will be the greatest society the world has seen since the first century, eclipsing even what was experienced then. “The glory of the latter house will be greater than the former” (see Haggai 2:9), causing the church to become the light it is called to be in the dark and confusing times the world is sliding into. This fellowship will become so wonderful that Christians will want to meet every day. Christian communities will begin forming again, having their own infrastructure, and ultimately, their own economy.
Of course we won’t see this happen in a year, but we will see the beginning of it. Ultimately no sporting event, entertainment, or other event will compare with the life and excitement found in the church.
Councils of Leaders Will Begin to Form with True Apostolic Authority
I was first shown in 1987 that this was coming. I think this has happened to a degree in some places, but not on the level that I saw. This year we will begin to see the real thing, but in its formative stage. Ultimately these councils will help release extraordinary authority and life in the church. They will moor the church to its right biblical foundation, giving it the stability that some of the greatest missions and ministries will be built upon.
This year we will see increasing grace on leadership meetings, especially those that cross denominational and movement boundaries, beginning to bring the necessary interchange and cross pollination in the church.
A Kingdom Economy Will Begin to Form
Ultimately the body of Christ will have its own economy that will grow with consistency and strength. Because of this, no Christian will need to be concerned about the mark of the beast. However, this is not just about having an alternative to the beast—it is laying a foundation for the economy of the coming kingdom of God, one built on the greatest economic principle: “Love never fails” (see I Corinthians 13:8).
As world markets continue to shake, plunge, and collapse, the kingdom economy cannot go down because “there will be no end to the increase of His kingdom” (see Isaiah 9:7). Whatever is truly built on the kingdom has to increase. For those looking for a safe place to put investments, it won’t get any safer or better than this emerging kingdom economy. For those saying, “Where is it?”, you can’t see it if you do not see the kingdom. If we can see His kingdom, we will see its economy as it emerges.
We must be born again to see the kingdom, but not everyone who is born again sees the kingdom. To see the kingdom we must use the key to the kingdom. That key is Matthew 6:33: “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."
A New Generation of Prophets and Teachers Will Begin to Emerge with Worldwide Authority and Influence
The Holy Spirit is moving. One characteristic of every true move of the Spirit is a growing love of the truth and an increasing love for the Scriptures (the Holy Spirit’s bestselling book). At the same time, many called as teachers to the body that have devoured the Word of God and accumulated knowledge and understanding on a host of topics will be used to build the church, preparing it for what it is called to be in these times. The Lord really has saved His best wine for last. The quality of what He will serve His people will eclipse anything ever experienced before.
Knowledge has greatly increased in the natural. What is about to be released in the Spirit will mirror this. For those who love knowledge, truth, wisdom, and understanding, there has never been a better time to be alive. This increasing love for the Scriptures will be contagious, helping to feed and strengthen every move of God now unfolding.
Prophetic revelation will also eclipse anything God’s people have experienced before. As we are told in Acts 2:17-18, “in the last days” the Lord will pour forth His Spirit, resulting in “dreams, visions, and prophecy” upon the old and young, men and women. We will begin to see a new wave of the prophetic released. This happens “in the last days” because in these times, we will need this kind of specific direction and guidance. At times it may be life or death to hear Him say to us not to go somewhere, or to go where we are not intending. We will all need this kind of sensitivity to the Spirit in the times to come, and we will get it.
I saw the emerging prophetic ministers as mountain climbers. They would go up a little bit and secure their new position with stakes driven deep into the rock, fastening themselves to the mountain and to each other. Then they would go a little higher and do the same again. This time will not be like having a lot of individuals scattered all over the mountain climbing virtually alone. The emerging prophets will be secured to each other and to the mountain of the house of the Lord.
So Many Christians Will Rise Up with Zeal and Focus that it Will be Recognized as Another Great Awakening
The plagues that came upon Egypt parallel the ones in the Book of Revelation. This is because the plagues at the end of this age have the same purpose as the ones that came upon Egypt—to set God’s people free. For the last few years, some have awakened and begun to seek the kingdom first above anything else. These will be powerful messengers who will help wake up the rest of the body of Christ.
An awakened, encouraged church is also the most powerful evangelistic force there has ever been. As this Awakening continues to unfold, there will be many new believers. We are entering the first stages of the great harvest that is the end of this age. This will be the greatest ingathering there has ever been. It will change the spiritual and moral fabric of nations, profoundly changing the church throughout the earth. The church is then going to help change the earth and prepare the way for the coming King.
