According to Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson, “the word for water, מים ('mayim'), provides an interesting example of how the Hebrew word expresses the essence of the thing it names. This word is made from two of the letters 'mem' (מ) and one letter 'yud' (י). Science tells us that a water molecule, H2O is made up of two atoms of hydrogen surrounding one atom of oxygen. In the Hebrew word, this exact structure is reflected; the letter 'מ' represents the hydrogen while the 'י' represents the oxygen.” Just as Hebrew represents a word's essence, one's Hebrew name encapsulates a person's essential essence as well. Our personalized Hebrew name certificate will provide fantastic insight into the essential you.

Pastor Saeed Describes Details of Torture He Endured in Iran Prison
Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.
Saeed Abedini, an American pastor freed this month from an Iranian prison as part of a U.S.-Iranian prisoner swap, said in a television interview aired on Monday that he was tortured and left in solitary confinement for refusing to sign a false confession and saw other prisoners being taken to be hanged.
Abedini told Fox News that while in Tehran's Evin prison he was beaten by interrogators, left with an al Qaeda prisoner who tried to kill him and watched people screaming and crying while taken to be hanged.
"Yes, in interrogation once they beat me very badly because they wanted me to write something I didn't do ... Actually it was in a courtroom that the judge closed the door and the interrogators started beating me, and at that time I got a stomach bleeding," he told Fox News.
"The worst thing that I saw was when they took some Sunnis for execution...Most of them were Sunnis, some of them were political prisoners.... I can say most were executed for their faith."
Abedini was supposed to be reunited with his wife and children on Monday at a Christian center in North Carolina, but it was delayed because the family's travel plans have been "in flux day-to-day," a spokesman for the center said.
The Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove, founded by the famed evangelical minister and his family, said Abedini wanted time to adjust and reconnect with his family after more than three years of imprisonment in Iran.
Abedini's wife, Naghmeh, told Reuters last week the couple would work on their marriage. She said in a message to supporters that became public that her husband had been abusive and suffered from a pornography addiction.
Abedini arrived at the Asheville, North Carolina, center on Thursday. He and his avid supporter Franklin Graham, Billy Graham's son, have so far declined comment.
Abedini, 35, a naturalized U.S. citizen, was sentenced by an Iranian court in 2013 to eight years in prison for allegedly compromising Iran's national security by setting up home-based Christian churches there.
Abedini was one of five Americans released by Iran in exchange for clemency to seven Iranians who were convicted or facing trial in the United States. The swap was announced at the same time as international sanctions on Iran were lifted in a deal with the United States and other major powers to curb Tehran's nuclear program.

BERLIN — Wednesday is International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the date the United Nations has chosen to commemorate victims of the Holocaust during World War II. Six million Jews were murdered by Germany's Nazi regime, along with 5 million non-Jews were killed.
The anniversary, marked each year since 2005, falls on the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in Poland by the Russian army in 1945. One million people died there.
Here is how countries around the world are marking the 71st anniversary:
AUSTRIA
The Friends of Yad Vashem and the city of Linz will hold a remembrance ceremony at Linz City Hall. Yad Vashem is Israel's official memorial to Holocaust victims in Jerusalem. Yad Vashem works to preserve the memories and names of murdered Jews.
BELGIUM
A university (Autonome Hochschule) in Eupen will screen a documentary about Helmut Clahsen, who hid with his younger brother in dozens of locations in Germany and Belgium after his mother was persecuted by the Nazis in 1941. He died in Aachen, Germany, last October.
CANADA
The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Center is offering visitors free admission to the museum, which focuses on Jewish communities before, during and after the Holocaust. A special emphasis is on the life stories of Montreal survivors.
FRANCE
Prime Minster Manuel Valls will give an address at a commemoration event in Paris that is organized by UNESCO, the U.N. agency that promotes education, science and culture. UNESCO is hosting a number of public events and exhibitions in the French capital related to the theme of antisemitic propaganda and the Holocaust.
GERMANY
Members of the German government will join dignitaries at the German Parliament (Bundestag) in Berlin for a remembrance event that will focus on the topic of forced labor. Numerous cities and organizations across Germany will hold separate ceremonies. A state-funded cultural center in Bremen was forced to cancel an event that was critical of the Jewish state, the Jerusalem Post reported. The event was to be held Monday.
ISRAEL
Holocaust Remembrance Day, or Yom HaShoah — which takes place on May 4 — is the day Israel formally memorializes Jews who perished in the Holocaust. Yad Vashem historians, researchers and educators will nevertheless take part in ceremonies Wednesday in countries around the world, including Belgium, Ghana, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, South Africa, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Brazil, Slovakia, Malta and Russia.
POLAND
The Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and State Museum will host an event that will be streamed live on YouTube. It will be available in Polish and English. More than 1.7 million people visited the memorial in 2015, a record.
UNITED STATES
President Obama plans to attend an event at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, where two Americans and two Poles, all non-Jews, will be honored for their work trying to save Jews. The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington is holding two separate events, both of which will be streamed live on the Museum's web site.
The new year is such a wonderful time, offering us the opportunity to look back on the road we've walked, and then dream with God to set bigger goals and tread higher ground. With the closing of 2015, troubles abound in our nation and abroad; even so, some still find themselves joyfully celebrating great victories in the Lord.
God has blessed us with His goodness and hope for what lies ahead. While reflecting upon these things, the Lord reminds me of a paramount principle He long ago seared upon my heart. It is a fundamental truth that can help us stay in God's will and fulfill His intended purpose for our life.
Horses and Chariots
When an alliance of enemy armies threatened Joshua and the people of Israel in their quest to possess the land promised to them, God encouraged them not to be afraid, promising to deliver the enemy into their hands. But the assurance of victory was accompanied by a set of critical instructions for maintaining their success. The Lord told them to hamstring the horses and burn the chariots they had acquired as spoils of war (Josh. 11:6).
To hamstring a horse is to cut a particular tendon so as not to kill or completely maim the horse, but certainly render it useless for engaging in battle or pulling chariots of war. Disabling the horses and destroying the chariots was God's way of ensuring Israel would not become self-sufficient and dependent on their own military strength and ability for winning future battles. Instead, they would be reminded to trust Him.
The Lord set this safeguard in place because there was a tendency among the people of Israel, as there is within all of us, to lean on Him in times of great need, yet fall back on our own abilities and strengths when our struggles wane. Psalm 106 illustrates this unfortunate truth. After God so powerfully delivered Israel from slavery, they quickly forgot His miraculous works and did not seek His counsel (verse 13).
History repeated itself after Israel's conquest of Jericho when they set out to take Ai, a small and seemingly weak city. Having become overconfident and self-sufficient after miraculously winning the battle at Jericho, they did not seek the Lord's counsel for taking Ai. Attempting to go against the enemy in their own strength and ability, they suffered a most humiliating defeat.
Friends, especially after we've experienced times of great success, breakthrough, or promotion, we cannot forget our source of strength! We must rely on the Lord even more, with all the "more" He entrusts to us.
Lean on the Lord
In this season, God is attempting to give us a greater understanding of His authority and strength for breakthrough in our personal lives and family, for all of our labors, and for this nation as a whole. But we won't grasp the concept of operating successfully in God's delegated authority if, even unconsciously, there is any form of self-sufficiency in us. We must recognize that each day we need God's wisdom for our decisions and His strength for everything we undertake.
There are times in life when we are traveling upon what seems to be familiar ground. In those instances, it is important that one not give place to presumptuous self-sufficiency with a "been there, done that" mentality. Even in the seemingly easy times, we must be careful to heed the words of Proverbs 3:5-8:
"Trust in theLordwith all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;in all your ways acknowledge Him,and He will direct your paths.Do not be wise in your own eyes;fear theLordand depart from evil.It will be health to your body, and strength to your bones" (MEV).
Boast in the Lord
There are other times when the Lord will take us into situations where we feel a degree of intimidation, facing challenges that seem beyond our natural abilities. Following the example of the apostle Paul, we go to the Lord and say, "Lord, I want to glory in my weakness, because You then can be strong in me" (2 Cor. 10:17, 12:10; Ps. 20:7; Joel 3:10b).
Our greatest asset can be our area of weakness if we allow it to drive us to God, His vast wisdom, His limitless ability and His magnificent strength, rather than trust in our own.
"Thus says the LORD, 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, and let not the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; but let him who glories glory in this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, says the Lord.'" (Jer. 9:23-24, MEV).
"But the people who know their God will be strong and take action. The wise among the people shall instruct many"(Dan. 11:32-33).
The Lord desires to accomplish great exploits through those who take time to know Him intimately and hear what's on His heart. He will cause them to rise up in great strength and take bold, strategic action that leads from victory to victory, bringing glory to His name.
New Strength for the New Year
Let's make this simple yet vital principle our plumb line for moving into the New Year: Trust God, not ourselves. In doing so, we won't forget the Lord after witnessing great miracles. We won't let our guard down or act in presumption after experiencing victory. And we won't become like a weakened Samson who awakened from sleep thinking, "I will shake myself free and overthrow my enemies as I've always done," not realizing that the Lord had departed from him (Judg. 16:20).
In this new year, God is releasing grace to trust Him more. Lean into it, take hold of it. As you strengthen yourself in the Lord, He will add strength to your abilities and release creative thoughts, wise solutions, divine appointments, great favor, good contracts and timely sales. Struggling ministries will soar in God's strength and families in need of help will experience breakthrough. The Lord will even bring good from your past defeats.
In this coming year, let's work hard and be diligent, being mindful of His faithfulness, and look to Him for all we need. My friend, put your trust in Him!

THE ELIJAH LIST
From the Desk of Steve Shultz:
This is a most encouraging word by my friend from Australia, Lana Vawser...now this is a WORD OF THE LORD!!!!
Many of you have been waiting, hoping, and praying to see the "fruit of your labors" ...and prophetic voices are declaring that 2016 is a year of breakthrough and promises fulfilled.
Just read what Lana shares here:
"I have seen every time that you have put one foot in front of the other. I have seen every time that you have continued to flow the ground without results. I have seen every time you have cried out to Me and believed My Word, yet there has been no shift.
I have seen every tear you have cried, I have seen every moment that you have continued to follow Me, the call on your life, and have not abandoned the promises I have given you."
I would start praising God now for the breakthroughs He IS bringing into His children's lives!

"It's Time to See the Fruits of Your Labors!"by Lana Vawser, Brisbane, Australia
Recently, I had the words going over and over in my heart, "You will see and enjoy the fruits of your labor." As I have sat with the Lord I heard these words:
"It's time to see the fruits of your labor. It's time to see the harvest! It's time to see the 'fruit' in manifestation of all the times you have said, 'YES' to Me behind closed doors. It's time to see the fruit of your steadfast heart.
"I have seen every time that you have put one foot in front of the other. I have seen every time that you have continued to plow the ground without results. I have seen every time you have cried out to Me and believed My Word, yet there has been no shift. I have seen every tear you have cried, I have seen every moment that you have continued to follow Me, the call on your life, and have not abandoned the promises I have given you.
"There has been a great shaking in this season of fire and what is truly built by Me is coming out stronger!!!! The season of fire was intended to purge, purify, strengthen and increase!!!
"It's Harvest Time! It's Harvest Time!"
"It's time now, where you are going to LAUGH and LAUGH LOUDLY at the enemy and the giants that were mocking you.
It's now time to look at them and LAUGH as the FRUIT OF YOUR LABORS and STEADFAST HEARTS begin to erupt.
"The eruption of the fruits of your Spirit-led labors and steadfast hearts are going to come suddenly and will position you in alignment into a slipstream of grace that will see the tables turned. It will see the season changed from hitting hard ground over and over and over with little fruit, to a grace, a slipstream of ease, and GREAT fruit.
"The dark nights of the soul that have been walked, the price that has been paid, the cost of obedience, the sacrifices, it has not been for nothing, it's all been for Me, and what a delight you are to My heart.
Not for what you do, but for who you are, because you are Mine. My heart leaps and rejoices over you and who you are and I delight in you for YOU and not what you DO.
As you have moved in obedience to Me and not given up, you are now going to see great harvest.
"Where the locust has attempted to keep you 'locked away' from harvest by stealing, killing and destroying, I am now LEAPING YOU INTO HARVEST. You are moving into your harvest moment with great acceleration, joy and strength. In the breakthrough of your harvest, I will reinstall hope, refresh strength and release greater impartations to see and then to shift.
"For such a time as this! For such a time as this! Don't let the enemy tell you all of this and the fruit of your Spirit-led labors has been for nothing. As you have built by the leading of My Spirit and continued to build and contend when there has been little breakthrough, you have been partnering with Me to see a greater display of My promise and fruits of your breakthrough burst forth more than what you have dreamt about.
"I am breathing hope afresh! The fruits of your Spirit-led labors are about to be seen and ENJOYED. A season of ENJOYING the HARVEST is here. Even in the busyness of the harvest, there will be a REST IN THE HARVEST, a REST OF HEART that many of you have not known before. A new level of rest in the harvest will be met. A season to TRULY ENJOY the abundance of the fruit of your Spirit-led labors."

2016 will undoubtedly be a remarkable year. If I could describe what I see in one word, it would be "demarcation."
We are entering the "Valley of Decision." Nations and individuals will be making choices on ultimate issues that determine their ultimate fate. We will have great crises to help illuminate the choices, and their consequences. These crises will have a near equal opportunity for good or evil.
To navigate this time we must have a strong moral and biblical compass, to know what is good and what is evil. We must know what we believe, resolve to live it, and stand for it without compromise.
The more clearly we see this compass, the better it will be for us. Knowledge, intelligence and wisdom can be helpful, but this moral and spiritual compass by which we know where we are going, and how to stay on course, will be far more important.
This great time of decision is coming at a time when there is a great vacuum of wise, competent leadership. This should compel us to faithfully pray for our leaders as we are commanded.
It should also compel us to take leadership whenever and wherever it is thrust upon us, always keeping in mind that the ultimate wisdom is to know that the Way is not just a formula but a Person we are called to follow. That Person is also the Truth and the Life, and He will always lead us to truth and life.
