Mike Pence Casts the Deciding Vote to Allow States to Defund Planned Parenthood
Even with a 52-seat Republican Party majority, the U.S. Senate isn't as pro-life as you might think.
Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had to go to the bullpen, pulling in Vice President Mike Pence to cast the deciding vote on a joint resolution to disallow an Obama administration rule that required states to provide Title X funding to abortion providers—much of it going to Planned Parenthood. More than a dozen states have already adopted laws that pull that funding, but under the Obama rule—enacted in the final weeks of his presidency—states would have to forfeit the federal funding in order to fulfill their commitments to voters to fully "defund" Planned Parenthood.
Ahead of the vote, the Family Research Council urged its members to put pressure on their senators to vote in favor of the resolution. That wasn't enough to convince Sens. Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) to vote for the measure.
With all 48 Democrats and independent Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Angus King (I-Maine) also voting against the resolution, the vote was deadlocked at 50-50. Pence cast the deciding vote in favor of the measure, which now goes to President Donald Trump for his signature—which should be a foregone conclusion, given Pence's vote.
Because the resolution was identical to one passed in February in the House of Representatives, under provisions of the Congressional Review Act, it was not subject to Senate cloture rules and could not be filibustered by Democrats.

Air Force Officer Punished for His Christian Beliefs
U.S. Air Force Col. Michael Madrid is a flight surgeon and former naval aviator with 26 years of decorated service. He's also a Christian who believes in biblical marriage between one man and one woman.
And because of those beliefs, his attorneys affiliated with the First Liberty Institute claim, he has been punished and now the Air Force is attempting to destroy his career. First Liberty asserts that he's being discriminated against on the basis of his religious beliefs and his beliefs relating to marriage to human sexuality.
"Colonel Madrid is the latest victim of the extreme political correctness that is destroying our military," First Liberty Director of Military Affairs Mike Berry said. "The military should never discriminate against a service member because of his religious beliefs."

The Facts of the Case
In 2014, an openly homosexual airman who worked with Madrid was court-martialed and found guilty of serious misconduct. During the court-martial process, however, the airman accused Madrid of having made derogatory comments about homosexuality.
The colonel denied making such comments and submitted to a thorough Air Force investigation, where he explained that he holds traditional Christian beliefs about marriage. The Air Force found the allegations unsubstantiated, cleared Madrid of the charges and closed the investigation.
Madrid's real troubles began last year when he was placed under a new commanding officer who, without any new evidence, allegations or investigation, determined Madrid lied during the original investigation and was guilty of making derogatory comments about homosexuality.
The new commanding officer placed a Letter of Admonishment in his permanent record, which essentially guarantees Madrid—whose otherwise stellar record was likely to land him a flag officer promotion to brigadier general—will never be promoted. It's been a devastating blow to the colonel.
"I feel like the full power of the Air Force is coming down on me because of my faith," he said. "Now, after more than a quarter-century of service to this nation, I feel like I constantly have to look over my shoulder. It's incredibly intimidating."
Attempting to Restore His Reputation
First Liberty has taken the first step in attempting to restore his reputation, however, by sending a demand letter, asking that the Letter of Admonishment be rescinded.
Berry stated:
"Colonel Madrid submitted to an extensive military investigation, and the Air Force cleared him. Major General McCoy has no right to ignore the rule of law and arbitrarily decide, more than two years later and without any new evidence, that he can punish Col. Madrid.
"At First Liberty Institute, we've seen multiple cases in which military officials have refused to tolerate service members' traditional religious beliefs. Colonel Madrid doesn't hide the fact that he is a devout Christian.
"We are concerned that Major General [John E.] McCoy (Air National Guard Assistant to the Commander, Air Education and Training Command, Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas) judged and punished Madrid—a decorated Air Force officer—because he became aware of Colonel Madrid's traditional religious views. If so, that not only harms the military, but it is illegal.
"Religious intolerance and discrimination against anyone in the military is inexcusable. We ask the Air Force to take immediate action to hold Major General McCoy accountable and to provide justice and due process for Colonel Madrid."

Have you ever watched the news lately and wondered what on earth liberals, in general, have against Russia?
Sure, during the Cold War, the Soviet Union was definitely our enemy. And, in recent years, Russian president Vladimir Putin has acted in ways that have not been good for his neighbors, or for U.S. national security.
But, as Dr. Lance Wallnau pointed out in a recent commentary he posted to his Facebook page, there's definitely something deep-seated about modern mainstream liberals' visceral reaction to anything that has to do with Russia. Here's what he wrote:
What is it about Russia that obsesses Washington? North Korea and Iran want to nuke us. Why is Putin the focus?
It may be more spiritual than you think. Remember this - the modern angry activist liberal embraces an anti-Christian bias and hence an anti-Christ spirit. I know this offends some folks but all you have to do is look at the endless stream of assaults and protests and organizing and anger to see this is no longer the party of Hubert Humphrey and JFK. It's gotten weird. It's a spirit of rebellion - and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and witchcraft operates through manipulation, intimidation, and control. Otherwise known as Alinsky's training on community organizing.
The liberal east and west coastal elites are incensed that Putin rejects homosexuality and embraces the Russian Orthodox Christian faith. This spirit is a global power that even Donald Trump tries to accommodate (though he gets nothing back from this.) I even understand Republicans like McCain and his buddy Lindsey Graham. This Batman and Robin duo have a lot of ego wrapped up in their role on the Senate Armed Services Committee. They need Russia to be an enemy. They have a lot of billion dollar military contracts riding on their ability to justify the threat they think Russia imposes. Never underestimate the corporate profits and military contract aspect behind foreign policy. Trump and McCain/Graham are competing for control of foreign policy. That's why McCain and Graham are trying to set up the President to look like a fool for saying he has been under surveillance with private calls that have been leaked to the press by Obama loyalists. They want this President impeached. McCain and Graham are part of the elite beltway democratic/republican alliance against Trump. I am calling them out and alerting you to pray that they fall into alignment or fall into the ditch they have dug for Trump.
Back to Russia. Ann Coulter put it so clearly this week, saying..."Back when Russia was actually threatening America with nuclear annihilation, Jimmy Carter warned Americans about their "inordinate fear of communism." Sting sang that "the Russians love their children, too."
"But now liberals are hopping mad with Putin. They could never forgive Russia for giving up communism."
"To add insult to injury, Putin embraced the Russian Orthodox Church! This was deeply offensive to fiercely Christophobic liberals."
(Lance: love that- Christophobic liberals. So true. Liberals have Jesus jitters.)
"Russia's descent into insanity and madness was clear when Putin refused to allow LGBTQ marches through Red Square. For having the same position on gays as Obama did, circa 2008, Russkies were walking on the fighting side of liberals!"
(Lance: hard to believe Obama could not get elected supporting same sex in 08 so Axelrod told him he had to lie to Pastor Rick Warren at Saddleback and say he stood for the Christian definition of marriage! Biggest Lie told in church in 2008. Now gay marriage is a weapon used to put Christians out of business.)
"Trump's election victory was the capstone of the left's rage with Putin. To explain the inexplicable, Putin was made the center of liberals' axis of evil, the mastermind of a malevolent plot to steal the election from Hillary Clinton."
"That's how liberals became born-again John Birchers, seeing Russians under every bed. Now, no fear of Russia is inordinate. The Russians do NOT love their children, too."

Alabama's Dismemberment Abortion Ban Is Under Attack
With the West Alabama Women's Center—with support from the ACLU, Planned Parenthood and other liberal pro-abortion activists—challenging Alabama's law prohibiting dismemberment abortions, Liberty Counsel has stepped forward in defense of life.
In filing an amicus brief on behalf of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians & Gynecologists and the American College of Pediatricians, Liberty Counsel attorneys have written that dilation and extraction abortions, based on the medical evidence of unborn children's ability to feel intense pain, are both "barbaric" and "gruesome." It argues that the Alabama law protects the health and safety of the mothers as well as furthering the state's "compelling interests in respecting the life of the unborn child, preventing cruel and unusual punishment and protecting the ethics and integrity of the medical profession."
The brief details medical experts' testimony to Congress and in other states that demonstrate unborn children can respond to painful stimuli as early as the eighth week of development. It also details the emotional and psychological toll that can be inflicted upon physicians who perform these D&E abortions.
"We give our pets greater legal protections than we provide to the future citizens of America who have proven their humanity and their sensitivity to pain," Liberty Counsel Founder and Chairman Mat Staver said. "Alabama's law is a commonsense solution to a barbaric and gruesome procedure."

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia—a group comprised of 17 Muslim-majority countries and the Palestinian Authority—has determined Israel is committing apartheid against the Palestinians. (Official photo)
In the past decade, the United Nations' one-sided approach to the Israel-Palestinian issue has been best exemplified by the 223 resolutions it has passed that condemn the Jewish state.
If a new report from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia is any indication, don't expect that to change anytime soon. In that document (click here to read in full), Israel is accused of committing racial apartheid.
"This report examines, based on key instruments of international law, whether Israel has established an apartheid regime that oppresses and dominates the Palestinian people as a whole," the report's preface states. "Having established that the crime of apartheid has universal application, that the question of the status of the Palestinians as a people is settled in law, and that the crime of apartheid should be considered at the level of the State, the report sets out to demonstrate how Israel has imposed such a system on the Palestinians in order to maintain the domination of one racial group over others.
"A history of war, annexation and expulsions, as well as a series of practices, has left the Palestinian people fragmented into four distinct population groups, three of them (citizens of Israel, residents of East Jerusalem and the populace under occupation in the West Bank and Gaza) living under direct Israeli rule and the remainder, refugees and involuntary exiles, living beyond. This fragmentation, coupled with the application of discrete bodies of law to those groups, lie at the heart of the apartheid regime. They serve to enfeeble opposition to it and to veil its very existence. This report concludes, on the basis of overwhelming evidence, that Israel is guilty of the crime of apartheid, and urges swift action to oppose and end it."

Codebreakers Share Kim Clement's Word for Today
During Saturday's House of Destiny livestream, Sunil Isaac of Codebreakers shared some of the prophetic visions the late Kim Clement had shared with his followers regarding the moment we are in right now.
Three years ago—before President Donald Trump had even announced he was thinking about running for office—the world-renowned prophet shared a vision of a "WikiLeaks CIA exposure," "Another Snowden," and cries of "Impeach! Impeach!" Those are words we very much see and hear 24-7 in the liberal mainstream media today.
But the reminder is that God has now forsaken us, nor will He forget us. As was written in the Gospel of Matthew, which Clement also shared with his vision:

Lance Wallnau Prophesies the Ezra Move
Lance Wallnau was among the first to see and share that the Lord was setting up President Donald Trump to be the "Cyrus" leader to the United States.
And now, over the past weekend, he has shared what he is seeing and hearing that will come next in this new movement God is making in America. In the video above, which he shared live for his Facebook audience, he urged prayers of divine protection continue over the new president and his family.
"No person ever shook up the global order like this guy," he wrote. "Some people are dreaming of explosive devices.
"We thank you God for President Trump and cover him and his family in the mighty blood of Jesus and decree that this President will complete his divine assignment to tear up to plant and to build."
Wallnau shared this new word while "in the mountain tucked away in Moravian Falls where Rick Joyner writes his books and angels have been sighted." He said this "fresh download from the Lord" came to him while he met with Joyner, and shared a part of it during the video above—the discussion of this new word begins at about the five-minute mark.
He spoke in greater detail about what the Lord shared on Sunday night. He shared that via Facebook Live in the video below.

Can We Put the 'Trump Encourages Anti-Semitism' Narrative to Bed Now?
The FBI made an arrest Friday in its ongoing investigation into anti-Semitic threats targeting Jewish Community Centers in the U.S.
Agents arrested Juan Thompson, 31, in St. Louis. He is alleged to have made at least eight bomb threats and is accused of cyberstalking of an ex-girlfriend. You won't believe what he did for a living, though.

Thompson was a fake-news-spewing anti-Trump activist with communist tendencies.
At the onset of the 2016 presidential race, Thompson was a reporter for The Intercept, a left-of-center "adversarial journalism" online media outlet that focused much of its attention on documents leaked by Edward Snowden. He was fired in February of 2016 for literally making up the stories he was writing for the publication.
As The Intercept's editor, Betsy Reed, put it:
Thompson fabricated several quotes in his stories and created fake email accounts that he used to impersonate people, one of which was a Gmail account in my name.
An investigation into Thompson's reporting turned up three instances in which quotes were attributed to people who said they had not been interviewed. In other instances, quotes were attributed to individuals we could not reach, who could not remember speaking with him or whose identities could not be confirmed. In his reporting, Thompson also used quotes that we cannot verify from unnamed people whom he claimed to have encountered at public events. Thompson went to great lengths to deceive his editors, creating an email account to impersonate a source and lying about his reporting methods.
Apparently, he didn't learn his lesson the first time. In fact, he ramped it up with his anti-Semitic attacks. The FBI's criminal report states that threats to the JCCs by Thompson were made under both his name and the name of his ex-girlfriend, and that they were made both by email and phone calls.
After dozens of JCCs received bomb threats, which began shortly after President Donald Trump's election, liberal groups and the compliant mainstream media attempted to paint his victory as the cause. And, when the president suggested these attacks could have been caused to make someone look bad, he was ridiculed.
"Sometimes it's the reverse, to make people—or to make others—look bad," he said. The comment, despite his condemnation of anti-Semitism during his speech to Congress this week, was slammed by liberals.
But now it seems, once again, he was right.

Pro-Life Women Organize an Alternative to 'Day Without Women'
When Catholic Lady Blog author Colette Zimmerman learned that the same feminist organizers who put on the Women's March on Women were going to launch a general strike March 8 called "A Day Without Women," she wondered if pro-life women could put together an alternative.
During "A Day Without Women," women are urged to stay home from work in support of causes like Planned Parenthood, abortion and same-sex "marriage." As an alternative to the pro-abortion feminists and their shockingly vulgar antics, participants in "Lady Day" will instead "go to work in an especially ladylike manner, in elegant and modest dresses, to go out to tea with friends and to do works of charity."
Zimmerman's idea took off almost immediately, becoming a nationwide phenomenon. Hundreds of small groups of pro-life ladies with come together Wednesday, March 8, to "celebrate the purity and goodness of true womanhood, which in turn, fosters higher moral standards in society and among children."
"What a wonderful idea!" Moriah Webinger of Chardon, Ohio said. "I have 15 women already signed up for tea—it is a treat really! We are also informing the local paper too."
"I want my daughters to be truly feminine; pure and good," Brenda Asso, a mother of nine from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, said. "Abortion! Never! Don't even think about it. It's contrary to our maternal instinct."
Marie Sallinger of Lafayette, Louisiana, added that Zimmerman's idea of celebrating true womanhood is "inspired."
"I understand the evils of feminism and want to do something about it," she said. I have many good Christian lady friends. And I'm so happy to celebrate this day as a lady."

New Operation Rescue Video Offers a Look at the Life-and-Death Reality of Abortion
With the Senate about to consider a bill from the House of Representatives that would end the requirement that states provide Title X family planning grant funds to Planned Parenthood and other abortionists, Operation Rescue has released a new video that adds to the urgency of the matter.
In the video, the pro-life organization reports that 18 ambulances that have responded to Planned Parenthood abortion facilities over the past year to transport patients suffering medical emergencies to local emergency rooms. It also contains a clip from a tragic 911 call involving a patient death, along with documentation that the woman's fatal abortion took place at a Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Michigan.
The video reinforces what many already know about abortion: It's not safe. Complications include life-threatening hemorrhages, severe pain and seizures. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood continues to receive more than $500 million a year in government funding.
"We understand that the incidents shown in the video represent just a fraction of life-threatening abortion complications that women experience because of Planned Parenthood," Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said. "If they want to maim and kill women along with their babies—something the majority of Americans find abhorrent—it certainly shouldn't be done with the blessing of our hard-earned tax dollars."
The bill approved in the House and now being considered in the Senate Republican would allow states to reallocate Title X funds to only women's health programs that do not supply abortions. In many states, doing so has brought those services closer to home for low-income women.
A vote in the Senate could come as early as next week. Operation Rescue is urging Christians to contact their elected representatives in Washington, D.C., to tell them to get the measure on President Donald Trump's desk as soon as possible.

2 Evangelical Cabinet Nominees Face Votes in the Senate Next Week
Democrats are back to their slow-walking ways as they force every Cabinet nominee to go through the maximum amount of "debate" allowed by the Rules of the Senate.
The latest to be confirmed was EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt. He was confirmed by a 52-46 vote. Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.V.) and Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) broke with their party to vote in favor of the nomination, while Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) voted against it.
Pruitt, the former Oklahoma attorney general, is an evangelical. Two others are expected to receive confirmation votes next week: former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, nominee to lead the Department of Energy; and Dr. Ben Carson, nominee to lead the Department of Housing & Urban Development.
Family Research Council President Tony Perkins is urging Christians to get on the phone with their senators and tell them to support each of those nominees. He shared a little bit about why each should be confirmed by the Senate.

On Perry: Appointee Rick Perry is the longtime Texas governor and a two-time Republican presidential candidate. An Air Force captain and a graduate of Texas A&M University, Perry has served in the Texas House of Representatives, as Texas' Agriculture Commissioner and as Texas' lieutenant governor prior to his election to the post of governor in 2000. Perry has also been a featured speaker at our annual Values Voter Summit. With a long and impressive history in public service, Perry is a nominee who will chart a course toward smarter energy policies designed to strengthen national security and rebuild our economy. This is particularly good news for hard-working families and for business owners who have been hobbled by federal regulations under President Obama.
On Carson: Ben Carson is a neurosurgeon and former Republican presidential candidate. After his youth in impoverished inner-city Detroit, Carson rose to prominence as a pioneer in the field of pediatric neurosurgery, eventually taking over the department for Johns Hopkins University Hospital. Carson is a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom and founder of the Carson Scholars Fund. Like Perry, Carson has been a featured speaker at our Values Voter Summit. He is a man committed to the sanctity of all life and believes that we the people have an obligation to help lift others out of a welfare environment. House Votes to End Obama's Planned Parenthood Funding Requirement
In the final days of his presidency, Barack Obama's administration enacted a new regulation through the Department of Health & Human Services to require states to provide funding to abortion providers through the Title X family planning services block grant program.
In essence, it was a "backdoor funding" mechanism for Planned Parenthood meant to counter the many states that were following through with their citizens' demands to defund the abortion giant. But that means of providing taxpayer support for abortionists could soon come to an end.
The House of Representatives voted 230-188 to repeal the regulation. Two Republicans and two Democrats crossed party lines. Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) drafted the House version of the legislation, while Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) authored the Senate companion, which will likely take up the measure soon.
Black and Ernst co-authored an op-ed published in The Washington Examiner to explain the bill. They wrote, in part:
Rarely do the American people benefit when the federal government attempts to subvert the will of the people's elected representatives and substitute its judgment for that of state or local governments. State legislatures around the country have spoken out about their preference for prioritizing more comprehensive primary and preventative care providers for the receipt of Title X funding, and their voice should be respected by bureaucrats in the federal government.
The legislation has more than 130 co-sponsors, all Republicans, between the two chambers. For states that have voted to "defund" Planned Parenthood, this would be the final means by which they can remove all taxpayer funding to the abortion giant.

Report: Iranian Missiles Can Strike Tel Aviv in Just 7 Minutes
According to a recent report from Iran's state-operated Fars News Agency, a new ballistic missile just tested by the Islamic Republic can strike Tel Aviv, the seat of Israel's government, with just seven minutes' notice.
Mojtaba Zonour, a former adviser to the Iranian Supreme Leader's Representative at the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, made the claim as the war of words between Tehran and Washington was ramped up over the weekend. He also threatened a U.S. military installation in Bahrain.
"The US army's fifth fleet has occupied a part of Bahrain, and the enemy's farthest military base is in the Indian Ocean, but these points are all within the range of Iran's missile systems, and they will be razed to the ground if the enemy makes a mistake," he said. "And only 7 minutes is needed for the Iranian missile to hit Tel Aviv."
President Donald Trump responded to the threats and additional ballistic missile tests with the following comment on Twitter:
Iran is playing with fire—they don't appreciate how "kind" President Obama was to them. Not me!
Commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh claims the systems being tested are defensive, not offensive, in nature in an attempt to play down U.S. officials' allegations. But in the same statement, he warned the U.S. against taking any "hostile action."
"If the enemy makes a mistake, our roaring missiles will hit their targets," he said. "Knowing the capabilities of our armed forces, I am to ensure you [sic] that foreign threats cannot do us any harm."
