Training in the bitter cold - Anat Schneider ISRAEL TODAY

Training in the bitter cold

Monday, February 08, 2016 |  Anat Schneider
ISRAEL TODAY
It was freezing outside as we communicated with Moran via our family's WhatsApp group.
My son Moran is someone that has always endured the cold without discomfort. Since he was a young boy he liked to lie on the floor in order to cool down.
While everybody was warmly wrapped in sweaters and jackets during the winter, he would be wearing shorts. He would usually comment how warm it was.
A couple of Shabbats ago, when he returned home, he expressly stated, "I do not like winter!"
The week that followed, Israel was enveloped by an unusually cold spell and the temperatures dropped below freezing.
He and his whole unit were in the field training during that whole week.
They were out in the field exposed to the elements without tents, without warm jackets, no hot showers and without hot food.
In the howling wind and freezing rain they slogged on with their training.
All honor to those kids who, just a year ago, were spoiled high school scholars who got up to the usual mischief.
Here they are, having matured enormously from teenagers to IDF combat soldiers full of discipline, understanding the responsibility entrusted to them of defending the country and her citizens.
"What a man he has become!" says everybody.
But for me as a mother it is not always easy. I want my 19 year-old son at home! I would like him to remain a child for another couple of years. The transformation from child to soldier has been so sudden and drastic.
What choice do I have?
But to sit in a cosy home and pray that as he and his soldier buddies sleep on the cold earth, it will only be in training.
That they will return home healthy, safe and sound is the prayer of mothers and fathers.

Need a Dad? - Lesson Taught. Lesson Learned. - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Need a Dad?
- Lesson Taught. Lesson Learned.

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“And He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse." (Malachi 4:6, NKJV)

In prayer this morning the Lord reminded me of my dad, Louis James Martin, who graduated to his heavenly reward over 15 years ago at the age of 67, as a result of lymphoma cancer. I was giving thanks to my Father that my Dad had taught me practical things while growing up – like putting away the wrench tool after I used it, so it wouldn’t rust in the rain. You know – just practical, common sense things like that.

As I continued praying, I realized that many of the current generation we gave birth to don’t have a “real” Dad, or Mom, who were/are around to teach them even the basic, practical things in life. Sure, each of us had at least one parent in the beginning at the hospital, but not many then had a father or mother, who loved them enough to train them, encourage them, or show them how to live, after they left the place of their birth.

Few had a real mentor to teach them that they weren’t given life to just exist for themselves. But their life is to have life, a life with purpose, and understanding of the Creator’s plan, as they were created to be. Not only in the natural realm, but especially even more so in the spiritual one.

I mean – how many of this generation now in their teens, including even those hitting their 40’s, know what life is all about, other than playing video games for hours, standing in line for the latest hot movie a day before it opens, or getting drunk, taking drugs of all kinds, or having sex (with whomever), beginning in their middle school years?

Where are the fathers? Where are the mothers?

How far we have fallen.

The verse written just before Malachi 4:6, before the restoration of the fathers to their children, says it even more which is worth noting.

"Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse." (Malachi 4:5-6, NASU)

Our Father in heaven clearly states that He is going to do something about the mess our kids, and their kids, are in. God the Father says He is going to send Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. To do what? To restore the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers.

As for me, I think that day is now. Certainly we are approaching the great and terrible day of the Lord, in these last days. Thus so, I am looking, I am expecting, I am believing the Lord is going to keep this promise, His promise to His people.

Will each child have a father and mother to train them, to teach them, to instruct them in the ways of the Lord? I don’t think so, but I do believe that those who are longing for such a one in their life will certainly be given one – a “parent” who will care for them. Teach them right from wrong. Black and white. No gray stuff here.

And for those of us who know what to do, how to do it, and when to do it – live as we were created to live– we will be given these ones to do just that. Show them the way they are to go.

I am glad my Dad taught me the basics of life. That wrench that I would have left out in the grass, after adjusting the motor on my lawnmower, would have rusted after the first rain. And then I would have had to buy another one, using money I would have spent on a nice hamburger and French fries.

I am very grateful for that, but even more so, how he taught me, by example, how to live right.

Lesson taught. Lesson learned. We have to do the same for those who need it now.

My eyes are open. My heart is ready, as a father, to teach those who want to be taught.

My heart has been turned to my children, and those who need a dad.

So think on this, in the love of Jesus,

Steve Martin

Throughout our lives, God keeps His hand on our shoulders and nudges us on to more than what we could ever realize. I am excited to share how He did it this with me, and am confident mine will be a story you’ll be able to relate to.

As I unveil my story, think back to those times when you knew there was some¬thing more but you just couldn’t put your finger on it. You knew deep down that life wasn’t what the TV sitcoms portrayed it to be. In our souls there is the hope, the cry for more, that someday questions will be answered and promises fulfilled if we just kept plugging away at what we know to do.

In The Promise I share my 40 year journey with you, and show you that dreams do come true. Though Peter Pan isn’t real, the Lord, the One Who created us, certainly is, and He has a plan in place for each one of us. When you are done reading this story, my prayer is that you too will know more of that good plan and His purpose for you.

Rapid Increase For Those New in Christ - Darren Canning

"Rapid Increase! Healers, Prophets, Dream Interpreters, Seers Receiving a Double Portion"
Darren Canning, Ontario, Canada
The Elijah List

Rapid Increase For Those New in Christ

In a recent dream, I saw that there is a new anointing rising in the earth in this hour in order to bring in the harvest. God is about to teach people to walk in the gifts in the spirit at a very rapid pace. I see people who are "new to Christ" learning to fly in the things of the spirit quickly, because they will be aligned to Godly mentors who will teach them quickly.

This will be like on-the-job training in the things of the spirit learning to operate in supernatural ways. God is going to bypass the normal learning cycle and even train people through dreams and visions.

This is the hour of Ezekiel 37 when the army of God is being resurrected from dry dead bones.

Those that are about to rise in the army are not even aware that the army exists, but arise they will into greater destiny than they ever imagined possible.

Let Them Join Our Flight

I saw in this dream that there was a young person that started to fly alongside of me. I was moving very quickly in the spirit, flying from city to city. I was operating by faith as I flewbetween cities. The person next to me said that the gate to the city is not opened, so you will need to slow down, but in the spirit I knew we didn't have to slow down because the gate would open as we got near to it. (Photo via Pixabay)

We were flying side-by-side, and as we came to the city a glass door opened before us and we flew quickly into that city. We then began to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit in a way that I personally had not operated before. There was a young lady in that dream who was an aspiring actress. Because of disappointment she was not actually acting. She was living below her potential because depression came against her. She was far from Christ and banqueting at the world's table.

In my heart I was trying to get to as many people as I could in order to get the message of Christ to them. This young girl and those sitting with her, mocked the message of Christ when I approached them; but then I began to tell her things that only she and God knew, and as I did something shifted in her mindset. I told her that she would have been in the movies now if she had listened to the advice that one director had given to her a while back. She looked at me shocked and then began to listen to the message of Christ that we preached.

The person flying with me was learning as we walked together. I know that in this hour that many of us who have been in the things of the spirit for some time will be taking responsibility for training those that are young in the things of the spirit, but these ones will actually learn to fly by being with us. Those of us who have exercised our faith will have many people who will want to learn from us and we must let them join us in our flights.

We don't have to slow down for them. We don't even have to worry about them. They will keep up with us because the Holy Spirit is guiding them to us and teaching them to fly like us. All we have to do is be open to the possibility that God has them coming to us, and when they do just let them hangout and ask questions. There will be an impartation in the process of mentoring. (Photo of Darren Canning)

They will learn to fly in the same way we do. They will also have gifting that we don't have and will teach us a thing or two. God is uniting the army in this hour. Get ready for expansion on your left and right.

Expansion and Giant Steps For the Kingdom

Isaiah 54:2-3 says, "Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities."

This is what the Lord is saying: Those of you who have ears to hear listen to what the Spirit is saying. Do not fear the finances, do not fear rejection, do not fear fear itself, because you are about to take giant steps for the Kingdom sake.

A few weeks ago I had another dream. This is a season where people are being upgraded into new anointings and mantles. Even with the passing of men and women who have gone before us, there is a transfer taking place between generations. People in their 20s and 30s are about to take their place in the Kingdom.
God is taking your old shoes and releasing new shoes in this hour. People will notice the increase of anointing upon your life. There will be an increase in the healing and prophetic anointing. You will walk in it with greater ease. (Photo via Pixabay)

The Lord showed me in that vision that He is releasing many spiritual blessings over those who are ready to be raised to the next level. This new season will be very exciting for those in-tune with the things of the Holy Spirit. Get ready for a double portion. Even as Elisha received a double portion of Elijah's anointing (2 Kings 2:9-16), the next generation of healers, prophets, dream interpreters and seers are receiving a double portion.

You will move like Philip did, releasing the good news to many places (Acts 8:39). You will be like the man from Macedonia who showed up in Paul's dream to tell him to come preach the Gospel in Macedonia (Acts 16:9). God is going to do this by His Spirit.

Isaiah 44:3-4: "For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring, and My blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams."

Seek the greater gifts and you shall walk in them. Get ready for a new dimension of glory. Get ready for a new shift.

Even as we move between seasons in the natural we will be moving between seasons in the spirit. Watch for what occurs in the next number of months. With the abundant rains of spring will come a new thing in the earth in this hour.

Your Time in Exile is a Set Up for Promotion by John Meyer

Your Time in Exile is a Set Up for Promotion

by John Meyer

Identity Network

There is no doubt that many people are going through tremendous difficulty, trial and excruciating processing. In fact, the last decade has been more than difficult for many of Gods children than all of the previous years combined. Over the last ten years I have heard stories of adversity that would make the hair on the back of your neck curl. I can relate with the stories of many of these wonderful people, and feel for them deeply. The challenges my wife and I have faced have been more mentally than physically, nevertheless they are real and they are not without purpose.

Although there is so much bad news coming at us 100 mph, I am a firm believer that there is so much more in the way of good news that we either don't hear about or we may not be seeing as good news.  In other words, we all have spiritual lenses that we look through every single moment of the day and depending on what we are seeing, will determine the outcome of what we truly believe.  We can listen to the bad news of the world and let it take us out or we can challenge that bad news and let it forge us in the fire by turning something adverse into something good.

Growing Pains

Our insight will certainly determine our eyesight as it pertains to our training and development in Christ. Many times we think that just because we have said yes to Jesus that everything is going to change overnight and we won't have to experience further difficulty in life. While on certain levels this may be true, other levels it is not.  Ever heard of growing pains? The decision to look at the "pain" in the growing in a positive manner can make all the difference in the world.

The Apostle John had an interesting journey and a rather optimistic take on his processing through the adverse conditions he found himself in while living as an exile on the Island of Patmos.

Rev. 1:9-11 (Living Bible) It is I, your brother John, a fellow sufferer for the Lord's sake, who am writing this letter to you. I, too, have shared the patience Jesus gives, and we shall share his Kingdom!

I was on the island of Patmos, exiled there for preaching the Word of God and for telling what I knew about Jesus Christ. 10 It was the Lord's Day and I was worshiping, when suddenly I heard a loud voice behind me, a voice that sounded like a trumpet blast, 11 saying, "I am A and Z, the First and Last!" And then I heard him say, "Write down everything you see, and send your letter to the seven churches in Turkey:[f] to the church in Ephesus, the one in Smyrna, and those in Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea."

How many of us make the decision to patiently worship in the midst of persecution, pain and exile? I don't know about you, but if we are honest, sometimes it can be the hardest thing we will ever do while clinging on to dear life in the midst of a storm. Everything within us wants to either run or shutdown in the middle of a battle; especially if that battle has been raging for a decade or more.

Fighting the Good Fight

But there is something interesting and powerful about the way John carries himself in the middle of his storm. We don't see him complaining about his plight so much as he is revelating about his fight. He is fighting the good fight of faith right in the middle of adversity. He understands something about the nature of his Father, because he had been down this road before, only in smaller doses. He was living in a time of immense persecution, and he knew it well because it ultimately wound up landing him on Patmos. John discovered something supernatural in the middle of his processing. He was beginning to have a deeper understanding of what faith and patience could do in the center of loneliness, pain and trial. He was found worshipping his God, regardless of what happened to him and where he found himself.

Sometimes we don't believe or we just can't see the plan in the midst of our own time of exile, where we feel like we are all alone and abandoned.  The pain can be so great sometimes that we just can't seem to find anything good or purposeful in our circumstance.

The name Patmos actually means "My killing." The island where John was living was also a sterile island where living plants couldn't be found, as the conditions of the soil were not conducive for vegetation to grow. So in other words, this place of exile is supposed to kill something off and sterilize the way one has been thinking. John had been processed and developed enough in his own walk to understand and embrace the "killing off" of his own way of thinking. He knew that the only way to survive and thrive in that place was to go high in worship and adoration.

Notice that when John went into worship a few important things took place.

Rev. 1:10-11 It was the Lord's Day (Rest) and I was worshiping, when suddenly I heard a loud voice behind me, a voice that sounded like a trumpet blast, 11 saying, "I am A and Z, the First and Last!" And then I heard him say, "Write down everything you see, and send your letter to the seven churches in Turkey: to the church in Ephesus, the one in Smyrna, and those in Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea."

John worshipped, then had a SUDDEN encounter with a loud voice telling him to write a message for the churches. He got lost worshipping his Love in the middle of his exile, and because of the relationship he was caught up and heard a familiar voice giving him another commission.

Encounters and Suddenlies

You see, for many of us it has felt like we were going to die in the place of "My Killing," and we may not have understood that it is to be a time of intimacy between us and our Father, as well as a place of development. It's a time of getting lost in His Presence and it's also the time where we begin to here his voice loudly commissioning us to go.

"The journey has definitely been long and the training brutal for many of God's people, but it's important to understand that although it may feel like an Island called Patmos, there is an encounter awaiting us and one that will launch us even deeper into our life's work."

Moses, David, Elijah, Joseph and many others understood the power of processing as well, in their own places of exile. It wasn't as if they were worshipping as a transaction hoping to get out of their pain. No, I believe they had such intimacy with their King that it caused them to go into another dimension to hear from Him and experience His touch. In doing so, the power of relationship began to release the freedom and call of either a life's calling or another assignment in The Kingdom. They were actually receiving promotions in the Spirit.

"Where adversity and exile are present, presence and promotion are known and released."

I believe I heard strongly in my spirit "Many of my children have gone through the pain of adversity's training and I am about ready to perform a suddenly and set them in places they have not even dreamed of."

This is not the time to check out my friends. This is the time to worship and fall in love again. I know you want out of the fiery furnace, but your Father has need of you in the secret place so He can give you a revelation and commission that far exceeds the pain of the processing.

May encounters and suddenlies be yours.

God is after Souls, Cities and Nations
& Many Are In Transition (especially after age 50)

Dave Yarnes
Friday, April 4, 2014

Dave Yarnes shares about God's desire for souls, cities and nations. God is not willing that one should perish.
He also talks about transitions coming to an end, as many are now in (especially after the age of 50) and what is happening with us in that - training, passion, gifting and timing.
Many come into their calling after the age of 50 - (i.e Derek Prince at age 55, Colonel Sanders at 60 with Kentucky Fried Chicken, etc.)
