Standing With Israel
At a time when Israel is seeking to boost its ties with Arab and Muslim countries in order to counter the threats posed by Iran and terrorist groups, could the world's largest Muslim country become the Jewish state's new friend?
In a March 28 meeting with a delegation of senior Indonesian journalists visiting Israel as guests of the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for a normalization of ties with Indonesia.
"The time has come for official relations between Indonesia and Israel. We have many opportunities to cooperate in the fields of water and technology. Israel has excellent relations with several countries in Asia, particularly China, Japan, India and Vietnam," Netanyahu said.
The prime minister added that Israel's "relations with the Arab world are also changing."
"Indeed, we are allies in the fight against radical Islam," he said. "Relations between Israel and Indonesia must also change. I have more than a few Indonesian friends on Facebook. The time has come to change our relations. The reasons that prevented this are no longer relevant, and I hope that your visit will help with this."
Indonesia, however, pushed back against Netanyahu's call for diplomatic relations, with Foreign Ministry spokesman Arrmanatha Nasir saying the country regrets "that such activities are politicized by Israel."
"We want to assert that Indonesia's support and efforts to push for the independence of Palestine will not change," said Nasir, The Jakarta Post reported on March 31.
Whether or not Indonesian-Israeli relations are imminent, Shira Loewenberg—director of the Asian Pacific Institute for the American Jewish Committee (AJC)—said she views Indonesia "as being of critical importance to Israel, both symbolically and in actuality."
"As the world's largest Muslim-majority country, Indonesia's recognition of the Jewish state would have tremendous symbolic value for both countries as well as for democracies around the world. It would have great meaning for Muslim nations and populations around the world as well, which is perhaps why diplomatic recognition has not already taken place," Loewenberg told JNS.org.
A former Dutch colony, Indonesia is a volcanic archipelago of more than 14,000 islands in southeast Asia that is home to roughly 255 million people, the world's fourth-largest population. More than 87 percent of Indonesians practice Islam.
"Indonesia does offer an important opportunity, as part of the general trend in Israel, of opening up to Asia," Natan Sachs, a fellow in the Center for Middle East Policy at the Brookings Institution think tank, told JNS.org.
Unofficial contact between Israel and Indonesia began under former Indonesian president Abdurrahman Wahid from 1999-2001.
Indonesia's relationship with Israel "warmed as Wahid aimed to establish closer commercial ties with the stated goal, eventually, of establishing formal diplomatic ties," Loewenberg said.
While Israel has formal diplomatic relations with some Muslim-majority countries, like neighbors Jordan and Egypt, such cooperation is mostly limited to the nations' governments and militaries due to lingering anti-Israel sentiments within the countries' actual populations. Israel has also sought informal or even secretive ties with some traditional foes like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to trying to repair ties with Turkey. Muslim-majority Azerbaijan, meanwhile, has already become a diplomatic and economic ally for Israel.
In March, Israel prevented Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi from entering Ramallah to meet with the Palestinian Authority because Marsudi intended to skip a state visit to Jerusalem. But during a Knesset debate on the issue, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely revealed that Israel has had "continuous contact" with Indonesia, including an unofficial visit to Indonesia by Israeli Foreign Ministry Deputy Director-General in the Asia-Pacific Division Mark Sofer. During that trip, Israel and Indonesia had secretly agreed that Marsudi would visit Jerusalem, but Masrudi later backtracked on that deal.
In the business world, cooperation between Israelis and Indonesians is a poorly kept secret. At a foreign trade conference in Israel in January, an Indonesian investor who did not want his name used in the press confirmed those ties in a speech to more than 600 people.
"There's already a great deal of business going on between Indonesia and Israel. Indonesia is a quickly growing country with a lot of needs in areas where Israeli tech has made important breakthroughs, like agricultural technology," the investor said in Tel Aviv.
Unlike some of its neighbors in southeast Asia, Israeli allies Thailand and Singapore, Indonesia is not home to an official Israeli trade mission. As such, most Israeli-Indonesian administrative or economic matters are handled through Israel's mission in Singapore. These unofficial ties have allowed for nascent trade between Israel and Indonesia.
"As the world powers pivot to Asia, Israel, of course, is pivoting to Asia too," AJC's Loewenberg told JNS.org. "Asia represents more than 60 percent of the world's population, and the current trajectory and future economic growth of the region point to Asian dominance. With economic power comes political power, already visible in Chinese and Indian aspirations and actions. Cultivating productive, warm ties to Asia is critical for Israel and friends of Israel and the global Jewish community."
Despite being a Muslim-majority country, Indonesia differs culturally and politically from its Muslim brothers in the Middle East, which also lends itself to viewing Israel differently.
"The Indonesians don't quite share the same characteristics of some of the Sunni [Muslim] Arab states. Indonesians are more pluralistic and view themselves that way," said the Brookings Institution's Sachs.
Yet according to a 2014 BBC poll, roughly 75 percent of Indonesians had a negative view of Israel.
"In Indonesia, a lot of the [population's] support for the Palestinians comes not because they are Muslim, but because Indonesia has a very long-held anti-colonial attitude. ... In that sense, many Indonesians see the Palestinians as the underdog and suffering from colonialism, so they identify with them in that regard," Sachs said.
That attitude was reflected in Indonesian officials' statements following Netanyahu's recent appeal for normalization.
"We will not forge diplomatic ties with a country that colonizes another country. That is the mandate of our constitution," said Tantowi Yahya, a lawmaker from the Indonesian House of Representatives commission that oversees foreign and security affairs, The Jakarta Post reported.
The Indonesians "are far from the [Israeli-Palestinian] conflict geographically and are not major players," Sachs told JNS.org, explaining that the conflict "is an important point for them, but not central part of their foreign policy. It is more symbolic."

Government Bows to Muslim Pressure to Close Churches in Indonesia

Government Bows to Muslim Pressure to Close Churches

Authorities in Indonesia's conservative Aceh province said on Sunday several Christian churches would be shut down this week, just days after a mob burned down a church, killing one person and injuring several others.
Tensions have been high among the ethnically and religiously diverse population of Aceh, raising the risk of further religious violence in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim population.
The vast majority of Indonesians practice a moderate form of Islam and Aceh is the only province to adhere to Islamic Sharia law, putting it at odds with the rest of the country.
Aceh was granted special autonomy as part of a 2005 agreement to end decades of separatist violence, which allowed it to implement Sharia law.
Christian groups in Aceh Singkil district, where the churches stand, had been consulted on the matter, authorities said, and members of as many as six churches had agreed to dismantle their houses of worship after admitting they did not have the required building permits.
"All houses of worship, regardless of the religion, need to be in accordance with the laws of Aceh," Bardan Sahidi, a member of the provincial parliament, told Reuters after attending a meeting of political and religious figures, including representatives from the religious affairs ministry in Jakarta.
Local Christian groups were not immediately available for comment.
The move comes after Muslim residents, including members of the hardline group Islamic Defenders Front, demanded that the local government shut down 10 churches, citing a lack of permits.
A mob of hundreds of people burned down a small church in Aceh Singkil district last week, forcing thousands of Christians to flee to neighbouring villages.
One Muslim member of the mob was killed, police said last week, adding that at least 10 people had been detained on suspicion of inciting violence.
The government has since deployed 1,300 police and military personnel to the area, with hundreds more on standby, to patrol the streets and stand guard outside churches that dot the small palm oil plantations in the district.
Christian residents of the run-down village attended a service on Sunday right next to the charred remains of their church, under the guard of about a dozen armed security personnel.
"At the moment, things are calm but we are on standby for any further incidents," said Saladin, spokesman for Aceh police, adding that evacuees had since returned to their homes.

Amid Christian Persecution, There Is Good News in the Middle East

Egyptian Coptic Christians have suffered mass persecution recently.
Egyptian Coptic Christians have suffered mass persecution recently. (Reuters )

Strang Report, by Steven Strang, Founder of Charisma magazine
At the recent meeting at the United Nations highlighting the persecution of Christians, there was a surprisingly positive report from one presenter who said that the church is growing in Iran, in spite of or because of the persecution of Christians by Muslims.
As already reported, there is plenty of bad news from the region. Each year, 100 million Christians suffer persecution, imprisonment and even death for their sacred religious beliefs. According to The Voice of the Martyrs, a ministry dedicated to assisting the persecuted church worldwide, "more people have died for their faith in Christ in the last 100 years" than in the previous 19 centuries combined.
While it seems in some countries we are literally seeing watching the genocide of Jesus' followers in the Middle East, the Iranian speaker who now lives in the United States says the church is growing largely because of Christian television being beamed into the country. There is a real spiritual vacuum; people long for a spiritual reality that Islam cannot provide.
Recently I interviewed Christian leaders from three different Muslim nations. One source explained to me that ISIS considers moderate Muslims as infidels, so they also have a "price to pay." As Shia and Sunni Muslims fight each other, "a Shia mosque being destroyed (one day) and the next day a Sunni mosque being destroyed (isn't uncommon)," he told me. "And in between, of course, Christians were being smashed especially when they are located under the region of ISIS. So, in general, the Christians are paying a very high price, but other Muslims are suffering too, especially those like the Yazidi people. They pay a very high price exactly like the Christians because they are considered as infidel from the ISIS groups."
But, now for some good news. For their security, I am giving no names and being ambiguous about locations. For authenticity, I'm quoting my sources as much as possible within the bullet points. Let the facts speak for themselves. To my knowledge, these stories have never before been reported.
  • "The good part of the story, is that God is using this to change the perspective of Christians in front of many Muslims. God is using this to open the eyes and ears of many Muslims to see the reality of who God is. God is not the God of violence. God should be the God of love—should be the good God, the God that the gospel is preached so many of them are coming, seeking and asking about the things of Christianity.
  • "While the Christians under the persecution, they were very giving, very loving, blessing. Every time they were interviewed after such a massacre, they spoke positively toward the country, toward Muslims, forgiving their persecutors, praying for them, asking forgiveness for them which is unheard of.
  • "Every time Muslims were killed, their families, their parents asked for revenge. Here, every time they asked for forgiveness so many people started to compare. What is this? What spirit do you have? This is completely out of the box, out of their expectations. So God is using this in a mighty way to bring glory to Himself and to bring people to reconciliation with Him, with themselves and with their community.
  • "More than that, now in Egypt, the government is trying to do their best to pay back what the Christians did to save the country. It could have been a civil war between the Christians and Muslims, but because the Christians reacted in a loving and forgiving way, (Christians) saved Egypt. The Muslim community came to us and said, Because of you, God saved Egypt. God saved us because of the church. For the first time, the Muslim community is changing their perspective about the church and Christians.
  • "Systematically, the radical Muslim, they are doing something to wipe out, if possible, you know, the Christian community, the radical Muslim. But the moderate Muslim actually is good. They are a friend of Christians. But this radical, they are like terrorists, so they keep attacking.
I'll close with an incredible story from Indonesia, where Christians showed love to the Muslims who persecuted them. Outside of Afghanistan, Indonesia, is considered the second largest base of the radical, like al-Qaida, even ISIS. Yet the church is growing at a rate of 2 million converts a year. If you missed my report on this, click here.
Persecution in Indonesia is less in the big cities, where most of the problems where laws are passed to keep churches from renting public buildings. But in some of the outlying islands, there is real persecution. One story of Christian love and forgiveness shows why the church is growing. Again, I'm quoting my source, edited only for space and clarity.
  • "So there was a village in the east side of Indonesia. One day radical Muslims used this opportunity to that village. The village is mostly Christian, so they burned their houses, killed them, and they came with 500 soldiers with all the weapons. But then the Christians were cornered into a church building inside, so they killed 211 of them in one day and injured about 140 people. And then, the church, you know, next day they buried the dead and it was so sad. And so they made a monument there. (After this the Christians ministered to the Muslims) and because of the love of the Christian many were born again. They accepted Christ; there was a revival.
  • "(So the Christians) began to pray, 'Lord, we don't have any building on Sunday to worship You. Can you give us money to rebuild it?' So when they prayed, God spoke to them, you know, 'I don't want you to use the money to rebuild your church first. I want you to collect the first offering and give it to the Muslims who killed you, who persecuted you. Give it to them so they can renovate their mosque also.' So they obeyed. Very hard for them, you know, because they were the enemy of them. But anyway, after they prayed, they were convinced by God and then they said, 'OK, God. We want to obey.' So they took that first offering, which is huge for them, $5,000 U.S. dollars. And then, they brought that money with praise and worship. I think about 2,000 people marched to the next village, you know, with joy, came to them and said, 'God told us to give you this money to rebuild your village and your facilities.' The Muslim leader wept. They said, 'Why you love us? We attacked you. We destroyed your building. Why you love us?'
  • "The Christians said, 'Because Jesus told us to do this.' They all wept and one of them stood up and said, 'Hey, Muslim people, we need to do something. Go to the jungle and cut all the bamboo tree and donate it to the church.' So they took all the bamboo trees and brought it to the church and donated it. So the government was so moved because of this, what the Christians did to the Muslims, so the government decided to give $15,000 U.S. dollars to rebuild the church building and by the help of many churches, you know, the church was able to rebuild and very beautiful, not only the church building but the people now experience tremendous revival. Now they are born again and almost 100 percent of that village become Christian."

Can This Be True? 2 Million Indonesian Muslims Find Jesus Per Year

Can This Be True? 2 Million Indonesian Muslims Find Jesus Per Year

This video is causing quite a stir among the Muslim population in Indonesia.
This video is causing quite a stir among the Muslim population in Indonesia. (YouTube)
Amid all the news about Islam's gains around the world, here is some startling news you've probably never heard: In Indonesia—the most populous Muslim nation—2 million Muslims are converting to Christianity per year. That's right. That's one new convert every 15 seconds. At this rate, Indonesia will be mostly Christian by 2035.
Some Muslims are so alarmed they've created a video on YouTube to alert other Muslims to this menace and are trying to raise $2 million to start a TV station aimed at Muslim youth to keep them in Islam.
Called "Save Maryam," it depicts a young teen named Maryam who represents all disillusioned Muslim youth that have responded to invitations to gospel events or someone handing them a tract that says "Jesus Loves You." Watch the 4-minute, 45-second video yourself if you don't believe me. It's from Muslims in their own words, alarmed at the rate of conversions to Christianity.
It ends by urging Muslims to stop this trend (thereby "Saving Maryam") by alerting other Muslims to the threat by forwarding the video on social media.
There also are YouTube videos debunking this, using government statistics showing growth of Christianity in Indonesia at a slower pace. Also, the videos cast aspersions on the fundraising tactics of the sponsoring organization and to their motives. However, the Islamic government has incentive to under report the size of the Christian population.
Recently, I talked to an Indonesian pastor visiting the United States that confirmed to me that the Indonesian church is growing despite persecution like churches being burned down and some Christians being killed.
"The Muslim has no answer for their life and they are very depressed because life's so difficult," he told me. "Their religion has no answer. Many of these people are so lonely that they will watch a Christian program and a Christian will follow up (with) them and bring them into the Christian community and disciple them."
In this Easter season, as we remember Christ's death on the cross and His resurrection, it's good to be reminded that the message of the gospel is real and it's changing lives—even in the most populous Muslim nation.
So, let's get this word out. The Muslims want this to be shared to alert people that many Indonesian Muslims are becoming Christians. Share this on social media—not to lament this news, but for Christians to rejoice.
God is still on the throne and is drawing all men to Himself (see John 12:32). It's like I heard Bob Mumford say one time: "I've read the end of the book, and Jesus wins!"

The Existential Elephant in the ‘Christian Persecution’ Room

Open Doors USA recently released its widely cited 2014 World Watch List—a report that highlights and ranks the 50 worst nations around the globe persecuting Christians.

The one glaring fact that emerges from this report is that the overwhelming majority of Christian persecution around the globe today is being committed at the hands of Muslims of all races, languages, cultures, and socio-political circumstances: Muslims from among America’s allies (Saudi Arabia) and its enemies (Iran); Muslims from economically rich nations (Qatar) and from poor nations (Somalia and Yemen); Muslims from “Islamic republic” nations (Pakistan) and from “moderate” nations (Malaysia and Indonesia); Muslims from nations rescued by America (Kuwait) and Muslims claiming “grievances” against America (fill in the space __).

A common denominator, a pattern, exists, one that is even more extensive than Open Doors implies. According to that organization’s communications director, Emily Fuentes, “of the 50 worst nations for persecution, 37 of them are Muslim,” or 74 percent.

In fact, while this number suggests that the other 13 countries making the top 50 are not Muslim—for example Kenya and Ethiopia—those doing the persecution there are.

In other words, those persecuting Christians in 41 of 50 nations are Muslims; that is, a whopping 82 percent of all persecution around the globe is being committed by adherents of Islam—sometimes in Christian majority nations, for example, the Central African Republic which, after the 2013 Islamic takeover, now ranks No. 16, “severe persecution” (the Christian-majority nation did not even appear in the previous year’s top 50).

As for the top ten absolute worst nations, where, according to the 2014 World Watch List, Christians suffer “extreme persecution,” nine—that is, 90 percent—are Muslim.(Indeed,Open Doors’ global map of Christian persecution can easily be confused with a global map of the Islamic world, with the exception of China (ranked 37, “moderate persecution”) and some sporadic countries dominated by crime and godless tyranny, Colombia, North Korea, etc.)

Similarly, a recent Morning Star News report listing 2013’s ten most horrific anecdotes of Christian persecution around the world finds that nine out of ten—again, 90 percent—were committed at the hands of those professing Islam.

Still, considering that the 2014 World Watch List ranks North Korea—non-Islamic, communist—as the number one worst persecutor of Christians, why belabor the religious identity of Muslims?

Here we come to some critically important but blurred distinctions. While Christians are indeed suffering extreme persecution in North Korea, these fall into the realm of the temporal, the aberrant, even. Something as simple as overthrowing the North Korean regime would likely end persecution there almost overnight—just as the fall of Communist Soviet Union saw religious persecution come to a quick close.

In the Islamic world, however, a similar scenario would not alleviate the sufferings of Christians by an iota. Quite the opposite; where dictators fall—Mubarak in Egypt, Qaddafi in Libya, and ongoing attempts to oust Assad in Syria—Christian persecution rises.

The reason for this dichotomy is that Christian persecution by non-Muslims (mostly communists) is often rooted to a temporal regime or ideology. Conversely, Muslim persecution of Christians is perennial, existential, and far transcends this or that regime or ruler. It is part and parcel of the history, doctrines, and socio-political makeup of Islam—hence its tenacity; hence its ubiquity.

Still, the significance of all this is often overlooked. Thus, “Dr. David Curry, CEO and president of Open Doors USA, told The Blaze ‘Not every circumstance is the same. For example, in North Korea, you have a quasi-Stalinist government that is the most difficult place to call yourself a Christian on the planet — and has been for the last 12 years,’ he noted. But while North Korea’s government is the real culprit, in places like Iraq, ‘roving extremist groups’ are waging attacks against Christians, while government officials are seemingly powerless to stop the carnage, he explained.”

True; but atheistic Stalinism/communism is a relatively new phenomenon—about a century old—and, over the years, its rule (if not variants of its ideology) has greatly waned, so that only a handful of nations today are communist.

On the other hand, “roving extremist groups” (also known in other contexts and countries as “Islamists,” “terrorists,” “mujahidin,” “mobs,” “radicals,” “people-with-grievances,” etc.) attacking and killing “infidel” Christians have been around since the dawn of Islam. It is a well-documented, even if suppressed, history

To further understand the differences between temporal and existential persecution, consider: Russia, once a staunch Orthodox Christian nation, led the communist movement and persecuted its own Christians; yet today, a century later, it is becoming more orthodox again, prominent among Western nations for showing support for persecuted Christians

North Korea—where its leader, Kim Jong-Un, is worshipped as a god and the people are shielded from reality, including outside their borders—seems to be experiencing what Russia did under the Soviet Union and thus living in a delusional state.

But if the once mighty USSR could not persevere, surely it’s a matter of time before tiny North Korea’s walls also come crumbling down, with the resulting religious freedom that former communist nations have experienced. Tellingly, the only countries that were part of the USSR that still persecute Christians are Muslim, such as Uzbekistan (ranked No. 15, “severe persecution”) and Turkmenistan (ranked NO. 20, also “severe persecution”).

Time, however, is not on the side of Christians living amid Muslims; quite the opposite. Since the 7th century, when Islam came into being, Muslims have been invading and conquering Christian lands so that more than half of the territory that was once Christian in the 7th century—including all of North Africa and the Levant—are today the heart of the “Muslim world.”

Muslim persecution of Christians exists in 41 nations today as part of a continuum that started nearly 14 centuries ago. As I document in Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians, the very same patterns of Christian persecution prevalent throughout the Muslim world today are often identical to those from centuries past. The facts speak for themselves.

Put differently, long after North Korea’s Kim Jong-Un has gone the way of the dodo, Islam will still be here and—short of a miraculous “reformation”—still treating Christians and other “infidels” like it did for centuries.

Confronting this understandably discomforting and better-left-unsaid fact is the first real step to alleviating the sufferings of the overwhelming majority of Christians around the world.

Unfortunately, however, while some are willing to point out that Christians are being persecuted around the Muslim world—why that is the case, why 82 percent of the world’s persecution is committed by Muslims from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances—is the great elephant in the room that few wish to address. For doing so would cause some long held and cherished premises of the modern West to come crashing down.

"My Church...My Heart...My Ways for Cities and Nations" - Bob Hartley

Bob Hartley with Francis Low:

"My Church will Bring Forth True Reformation, the Revealing of My Heart and My Ways for Cities and Nations"

Bob HartleyThe Following word from Bob Hartley was scribed by Francis Low:

Radiant, Redeemed Cities and Nations and Hope Reformers

God has repeatedly revealed to Bob the vision of radiant cities and nations, and hope reformers who were on a hill looking at these cities and nations, which had been transformed. These hope reformers had the wisdom to worship Him for Who He really is and had the strength and confidence not to be changed by the atmosphere and culture of a city or nation; but instead were able to effect transformative change to the atmosphere and culture of cities and nations.

Bob saw radiant cities and nations on the earth that had invited Him in, where the atmosphere of these cities and nations were filled with His presence and His glory; where the cultures of these spheres and arenas of these cities had been radically transformed, and the evil mist of despair, hopelessness, fear, and cynicism in these cities had been obliterated; and instead there was radiant hope, health, healing, joy, abundance of peace and truth, creativity, prosperity, and a place where good things thrived and flourished.

And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. Isaiah 61:4

For the past seventeen years, God gave Bob recurring dreams where Bob would see Jesus coming out of cities, running up to him, and telling him that these cities would not let Him help them. Jesus was saddened by this and said to Bob, "I really want to help them and give them My gifts," but they did not know how He was to be invited in.

Cities looked like AuschwitzBob was perplexed by these dreams and did not really know how to respond to the Lord. He then saw over Jesus' shoulder cities which looked like Auschwitz villages; although functioning, they were severely emaciated and depleted in hope.

But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Matthew 9:36

These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. Matthew 15:8

About two months ago, while Bob was visiting Australia and New Zealand, he had an open vision; however, this time in this open vision, when Jesus ran up to Bob, the Lord was like a young child with great joy exploding from Him, and He said to Bob with great excitement, "They are NOW receiving Me and My gifts."
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17

Beautiful, radiant cityBob then looked over Jesus' shoulder, and this time he saw beautiful and radiant cities which were filled with the glory of Heaven. It was absolutely stunning! These cities were no longer desolate places or wastelands but are now His habitation, His heart and joy.

Inviting Jesus in NOW

Jesus said to Bob, "It is NOW that many nations and cities will invite Me in, and they will get their true identity in Me, and Jeremiah 33:9-11 will be fulfilled."

"Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it."

Thus says the LORD: "Again there shall be heard in this place – of which you say, 'It is desolate, without man and without beast' – in the cities of Judah, in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without beast, the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of those who will say:

"'Praise the LORD of hosts, for the LORD is good, for His mercy endures forever' – and of those who will bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause the captives of the land to return as at the first," says the LORD. Jeremiah 33:9-11

ElijahList Prophetic Resources

Bob saw many hope reformers from nations who are now responding to the Lord appropriately. They are now inviting Him into their cities and nations by asking for God Himself to come and abide with them (see John 1:38-39).

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

"I Have an Awesome Variety of Gifts"

Receive gifts from Jesus"How is this going to happen?" Bob asked Jesus.

Jesus replied, "I am going to give them gifts, which are like building kits and a blueprint for the Church to be the Kingdom Church. My Church will bring forth true reformation, the revealing of My Heart and My Ways for cities and nations."

And when the queen of Sheba had seen all the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the LORD, there was no more spirit in her. 1 Kings 10:4-5

Then I arose in the night, I and a few men with me; I told no one what my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem; nor was there any animal with me, except the one on which I rode.Nehemiah 2:12

Jesus then said to Bob, "I have an awesome variety of gifts."

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established. Romans 1:11

The LORD has opened His armory, and has brought out the weapons of His indignation; for this is the work of the Lord GOD of hosts in the land of the Chaldeans. Jeremiah 50:25

Through these gifts, the Lord will move the Church from where she is presently at to a Kingdom reformational place. Jesus said He will give His shepherds these divine building kits and they will understand how to release Kingdom callings, messages, and feedings that are appropriate for this hour.

There will be unique worship and offerings to God in the gates in the city, where hope reformers will be released to bring God's Presence, His heart, and His ways into cities and nations at this time (see Micah 4:1-2).

It is Time for Hope Reformers to Partner with God

Here in this recent encounter, the Lord turned Bob's eyes toward a number of nations. What the Lord revealed to Bob was so wonderful and glorious it took Bob's breath away! The Lord showed Bob a number of nations that are now inviting Jesus in, and that He was now going to reveal His specific callings and identities for these nations in accordance with the counsel of His heart.

Callings of God on nationsBob was able to share this at the recent Open Heavens conference at Bethel in Redding, California, where representatives from approximately 40 nations were present. The Lord graciously and powerfully confirmed to many at this conference His callings for these nations and to the people who were called to help bring forth radiant, hope-filled cities in nations.

These are some of the nations Bob saw:
– Affectionate Australia!
– Courageous China, a nation that will see God as King!
– Endearing Egypt!
– Faithful France!
– Intimate Italy!
– Intentful Iran!
– Infectious India!
– Irresistible Indonesia!
– Loving Lebanon!
– Nations of Exciting Europe!
– Near Norway!
– Sensitive Spain!
– Soaring Scotland!
– Sweet Syria!
– Tender Turkey!
– United in God, the United States of America!
– Zealous Zimbabwe!
It is time for hope reformers to partner with God by coming into agreement and alignment with the Lord of the nations!

Vietnam Report - Morris Ruddick

             Morris Ruddick

Vietnam is emerging from the catastrophic economic conditions
of the eighties and nineties into a time marked by a mix between
much growth on a macro-level; that offers opportunity for some,
but still is not more than slim survival for far too many others.
Despite the odds, the ratios of new startup successes for those
following God's ancient pathways far exceed those of the
general population.

Simultaneously, the uncertainty and change, along with the pathway
modeled by God's entrepreneurs has provoked unusual spiritual hunger
among the people. Pre-revival stages are being witnessed across Vietnam
as the general population seeks the meaning and purpose that is lacking
in Vietnam's spiritual void.

In keeping with our plans to offer briefings to Western
churches who have a connection with and are praying
for the church in Vietnam, this trip report will be an attempt
to capture highlights from not only our most recent efforts,
but to describe the dynamic emerging within the settings of
Vietnam's committed and faithful brethren.

In the Face of an Ancient Stronghold

Recent months have seen widespread increases in the
persecution against the home church movement. Upon
arriving, we traveled to an area where these pressures
have been severe. As we prepared to leave for our first
meeting, I began discerning that in this locale was the
seedbed of the hidden power of darkness that has long
been gripping this land. With centuries of devastation
and turbulence; this was its place of entrance. It is the
launch pad of the centuries-long spiritual turmoil over
this land.

Despite our having to come in and leave under the
cover the darkness, this gathering reflected a cross-section
of respected pastoral and business leaders, as well
some young adults from the emerging generation. Some
traveled as far as 200 kilometers to attend.

What was most significant was that these leaders were
from both the registered and unregistered segments of
the church; doctrinally diverse people who not unlike
those in the West don't normally relate very well, no less
come together for a gathering. Yet, here they were
together, as one, hungry for the message of God's economy.

An Emerging Unity

Some have concluded the upswing in persecution to be
tied to an increase of a strategy of security police: of
promises to one Christian group who betray another.
The premise being that in return for informing on the
activities of "other Christian groups," the betrayers' activities
would not be monitored.

In other words, it's been a game of dividing and conquering.
One respected pastor has recently lost his passport because
of this. Jesus warned His followers about betrayers.
Regardless, those who compromise for their own benefit
and gain are dancing with the devil; where there is no back door.

Despite these attempts to divide, our strategic gathering
saw a very healthy number of leaders from diverse groups
come together without incident, as they eagerly and joyfully
embraced a meaty message that taps the reasons the Jewish
people have not only survived, but have excelled against adversity.

This is the message of God's economy that restores the model
and the mandate that have been in operation by God's people
since the days of Abraham. At the core of this message is the
wisdom needed to employ righteous power in corrupt settings.
It embraces the wisdom that God always has a strategy for
His people, who don't compromise, even under the most
impossible of situations.

One pastor summed it up this way: that our message was like
heavy artillery against the difficult odds of the strongholds they
have had to contend with. Before leaving, each one eagerly
committed to being a part of our return for more of our foundational
message of God's ancient paths; the pathways God has used
to make His people to be the head and not the tail.

Strangely, within two days of our departure, a huge typhoon
erupted, centered over this very area. It was almost as if, in
our slipping past the enemy's gatekeepers and imparting this
strategy and evoking this unity, that the enemy suddenly awoke
to roar his confusion and displeasure.

Orphans for Jesus

Later in this mission, in getting reacquainted with a leader we
worked extensively with in 2008 and 2009; we were able to
witness some unexpected collateral fruit from our efforts. This
man's activities have included a small home for orphans. Some
of these orphans, all raised as believers, are starting to assume
their roles in the workplace.

Six of them have been training at a very successful beauty
shop in their community.

They have advanced in their trade and trust to the level, that
they are actually running the shop in the owner's absence.
The owner, who has plans to immigrate to the West, has made
the decision to sell them the shop.

Although they are all yet teenagers, they are competent and
confident, knowing that the Lord will be their Senior Partner.
It was a great joy to pray together with them, as they become
one more example of the Lord making His own, even the most
unlikely, to be the head and not the tail.

The Convergence of Light and Darkness

Going back to the stronghold unmasked, at senior government
levels today there is a great struggle taking place between the
progressives who have opened the doors to the West and the
old-guard whose abuse of power was the foundation for the
years when 70 percent of the boat people fleeing their oppression
were from the Northern provinces. It is the age-old stronghold of
corrupt power that oppresses and results in operating essentially
like the old middle-ages, feudal type of society.

Yet, Light displaces darkness. So it was that as these leaders
we ministered to, joined their hearts as one, that the prevailing
principality began losing it grip. Indeed, it is the simple things
that confound the wise. So it has been that as this program has
been implemented in locale after locale, that everyday people
are witnessing the reality of God operating within their midst and
are unleashing the faith and the hope that redefines their pathway.

Navigating the Turbulence

After another of our workshops, the mix of pastoral and business
participants organized to employ our strategy of small groups that
nurture and incubate small businesses, while mentoring the
spiritual maturity needed to become spiritual community-builders.
Our follow-up strategy parallels the role of the Jewish minyon in
providing a means of prayer, helping its participants become
successful and serving to proactively help the broader community.

In short, a very real thrust of our program has been to open the
gates to a higher order of things spiritually. Our agenda consistently
has been releasing and setting things in motion across the many
locales we have served in this nation.

Yet there's been a strong witness in our hearts that the Lord has
even more, in terms of new dimensions for us and for those we serve.
Grasping and setting in motion these new dimensions has been at
the heart of some stretching-level turbulence that we've been
navigating on this trip.

Indeed this trip has been filled with the unexpected. That is the
reality when you venture into new territory. Some of the unexpected
things have been challenging. Still, they've also seen glimmers
emerging, unexpected surprises from the Lord.

New Gateways

First, we unexpectedly were connected to a wonderful Indonesian
church in Vietnam. Even more so, the ones we met at this vibrant
fellowship come from the ranks of those called as modern Josephs
and Daniels; an incredible group of brethren poised and prepared.
This dovetails with a very key part of the turning underway and the
unexpecteds, which has been landing on this key marketplace
leadership dynamic.

In still another unexpected, a modern-day Vietnamese Josephina
has not only graciously hosted us for two nights at her "to dream-for"
facilities, but has connected us with a local university interested in
employing our talents. While this opportunity didn't quite align with our
"next-steps" goal to put together a business-with-values school, for the
broader community of Vietnamese hungry for "something more" with
entrepreneurship; the exchange with this university director triggered
something I've long desired to master: sharing deep spiritual truths
with non-Christians.

The idea that began germinating was very simply to put an article
together for one of the respected English-language Vietnamese
economic magazines. Our program has matured to a level that
putting together a scholarly article on "enduring economic dynamics"
for what's emerging in Vietnam is not beyond the realm of possibility.

As we began wrapping things up, while visiting a restaurant, I
experienced one of those deja vu's that seemed to accentuate
a reality tied to our quest for "something more," the new dimensions
that God has before us. In this restaurant was a passage with a
transparent glass you had to walk over, which traversed a two story
drop. The deja vu was an image from the movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark."
There is a scene in which the next steps in the "quest" appear to be an
impossible precipice, but when taken by faith and acted on, the impossible
hurdle was really an illusion and turned out to be a glass walkway.

Having spent more than a year in Vietnam since Easter of 2008,
we have a tangible track record, fruit that is replicating itself; and
in fact is bearing fruit.

So it is that there are steps that lie before us, unexpected

dimensions from the Lord
that are only on the threshold of our ability to see them.
Indeed, we're poised, prepared and praying. We likewise very
much need your prayers. We also need invitations to speak at
churches praying for Vietnam.

There was an unusual joy that accompanied our departure; a
joy tied to unseen foundations being established; a joy of
expectation. Despite the challenges, the twists and the turns;
before us lies the turning that carries a parallel to the turning
for the Vietnamese believers we've been working with, as they
employ the ancient strategies needed to make them the head
and not the tail. It is a turning into dimensions that ONLY GOD
could bring to pass. Again, thank you so much for praying and
making this all a reality.

Gratefully in Him,

Morris Ruddick

Benny Hinn's Ministry Changed After Reconciling With Wife (Many marriages need help.)

Benny Hinn
Benny Hinn
Benny Hinn is a man on a mission. Since God has healed his message, there’s a new twist to his ministry—praying for the healing of troubled marriages around the world. Charisma News asked Hinn about this new facet of his ministry and the fruit it’s bearing in nations around the world.

Charisma: Has your message changed at all?

Hinn: No, not really. I mean, I've always preached healing, but I'm focusing very much so on salvation. Well, I do three things now at the meeting. Of course, in the first part, I focus on salvation because I always want to see people saved at first before I administer, and the altar calls are always packed. I focus on family healing. In South Africa, 50 percent of the crowd came down in a church of 11,000. Think about it—that many people actually walked down whose marriages were breaking up or on the verge of breaking up.

I was stunned in Madrid. The first night, I asked those that were having marriage troubles to come down. The pastor just looked at me in shock. A stadium packed, and a third of them came down. There’s lot of people in the body of Christ suffering like this, families just broken or breaking up.

I think Suzanne's and my healing has just had some impact. I go through my situation. My marriage was a whole lot worse than I can even talk about. And I say to people, "You think yours is bad. Mine is probably way worse than you could ever imagine. Again, God healed Sue and I. And if God healed us, He'll heal you."

It's stunning. You see them come down, and they start sobbing and crying almost instantly because the pain is so deep in them. I never dealt with that part of ministry in the past with couples and homes and families. I identify with them. They identify with me. It moved me so deeply to tears.

One lady cried so bad, I think she almost fainted, that poor thing. The pain in them starts coming out. The minute they walk down the aisle, before you get the chance to even pray for them or talk to them, they're already crying, many of them. And then you go down and comfort them and put your hand on their shoulders and minister to them.

I’ve looked at many of them and said, "Now, you look at me," and I took them by the cheeks. I lifted their faces because they were bowed with such sorrow. I said, "God did it for me. He'll do it for you. Please believe it." People want to believe it, but it's something hard for them to believe, [that] God can really do it for them. And it's been an amazing eye-opener anyway for me and Suzanne.

Charisma: What do you think is causing so much trouble in Christian families?

Hinn: That's a great, great question. Sue and I have thought of doing a conference for people with family troubles. I want to learn more about it to help them. I don't know what's going on with other people. In my case, it was family and the stress of ministry and being too busy. I didn't pay attention to Suzanne's pain. That's what caused our problem. And then Suzanne having to struggle with what was happening to our family—and you know that story.

In South Africa, people were just weeping everywhere because Suzanne opened up. She said, "Listen, here's what I went through. Here's what I was on. Here are the drugs I did. Here's what Benny did." And then I opened up and said, "So, here's what I did. Here's what I ignored. Here's what I should have not ignored."

And at some point, people laughed and they cried. And we talked for about a good half-hour. A lot of healing took place as we were talking, as they saw we were being transparent. That made them comfortable—that we were ourselves with them and didn't hide anything.

And finally I said to the crowd in Africa, "Now, we were honest with you. Now you have to be honest with each other and yourselves: What is it that has caused your problem?" This is so powerful because they see the love between me and Sue. We're holding on to each other. Suzanne is kissing on me. She's loving on me on the platform, and people see it's real, that it's not phony stuff, that we're not acting. This is real up there.

Then I said, "Now, you tell each other now that you will fix it. Just like we have, you will." And they stop crying and say, "We will fix it. We will fix it." And it's just powerful. Really, it makes you cry. You just stand there, you know. You just think, "Oh, my God! I can't believe I'm seeing this."

Benny Hinn: The Anointing Is Still in Operation

Benny Hinn
Benny Hinn

Healing evangelist Benny Hinn is back with a passion. After restoring his marriage, Hinn is once again traveling the world—this time with his wife, Suzanne—and holding crusades where miracles are manifesting.

Charisma News caught up with Hinn to get the latest report from the field.

Charisma: I hear God is restoring your ministry.

Hinn: The ministry is coming back. The anointing is still in operation. People are seeing that.

Number two, they are coming because of the deep hurt, deep pain, deep need. Sickness is still there. And thirdly, I think they come because they say, "OK, the Lord has done something for him. We're happy for him and Suzanne." They want to support this, and they show up.

So, it's been very exciting. I don't know what the future holds, but we're all excited about it, and I'm happy to see the Lord do it. This is real. Sue and I have never been happier.

Charisma: You’ve been ministering in packed-out auditoriums around the world these days. What’s going on there?

Hinn: Well, since my remarriage I have seen an upsurge. The crowds have come back in most places, especially in the Far East. I was in Manado, Indonesia, in July. We had 200,000 people show up for the crusade. I have not seen crowds like that in three years. It was stunning.

We were only expecting 80,000. They told my team it was the largest crowd they have had—ever—in that part of Indonesia. I was in Madrid last week; the stadium was jammed. People were just ecstatic.

There just seems to be a lot of excitement out there about my reunion to Suzanne. It's just a very, very exciting time in our lives. Sue and I are doing incredibly, marvelously glorious. Really, I've not had such contentment in my life. It’s like this is our time of peace and recovery. I think sometimes when somebody is healed, it heals everything else around them.

Charisma: Tell us about the miracles in London.

Hinn: I was in London at Westminster and rented the Westminster Hall across from Parliament. It was jammed out. It was magnificent. While I was in London, three miracles stood out which were just so amazing. One girl—I'll be showing it on TV in two weeks—was flown in from Pakistan with three holes in her heart and crippled. God healed her.

Two friends in their '60s who were born deaf were both healed. And it just stunned the crowd. It actually stunned me more than anyone else, I think. My son is now working with me. During the divorce, I saw him become so angry and bitter.

And there he was last week, standing, crying and worshipping God on the platform as he saw the miracles and was helping his daddy. It's a precious thing to see your family healed also when God heals you.

Charisma: What’s next for Benny Hinn?

Hinn: Doors are swinging open. I'm going to China, by the way, if you can believe it. I've been invited to preach in two cities, Shanghai and Guangzhou, in January. India has opened up big. I'm going to Buenos Aires, Argentina, in December, and they're expecting massive crowds.

And Africa. Dear God! The invitations I'm getting now for Africa can keep me there probably the whole year. So it's like a resurrection, a resurgence. I'm beginning to do some big meetings again in the U.S. I don't know that I'll ever go back to the stadiums because it's very, very expensive. But I am doing convention halls and centers. In fact, I'm coming to Orlando to the convention center early next year.
