Where Should the Church Stand Regarding Israel?

Where Should the Church Stand Regarding Israel?

Note: This is the second of a two-part series on the reconnection of Jews and Gentiles in the end times. For part one, click here.
Isn't it interesting that whenever God shifted His focus from one part of the family to another that it always comes as a surprise to each group (see Colossians 1:26,27; Romans 11:25-27), and it is not easy to admit being wrong.
In each case, however, God began to shift His body with the revelation that was necessary at that time, which He is also doing now, as both mysteries can be clearly seen in Scripture. Yet before each shift there was an apparent blindness to the call, which the revelation subsequently lifts. And to be perfectly honest, the church is all over the place in how they view Israel in the end times and are in need of a greater revelation and understanding from the Messianic side of the family to help them see the fullness of God's plans to establish His kingdom upon the earth.
Let's not forget that it took the apostles some time to recognize that the fulfillment of the mystery of the gospel to the Nations through Messiah/Christ was now upon them. Just as it is now taking time for the church to recognize that we are also at the door of the mystery to unveil Israel spiritually and restore it to faith, but also our role and participation in God's plan to bring it to pass.
Where Is The Church Regarding Israel?
So where is the church now concerning this shift, it is mostly still divided. Interestingly though, along similar lines to those in the church who are holding to more conservative and liberal interpretations of Scripture. With those from the charismatic and Pentecostal denominations along with a mix of evangelicals opening up more and more towards the restoration of Israel and those from the liberal side of the church where church growth has been shrinking rapidly, still holding to the teachings of replacement theology.
The early church spurred these teachings on, as it was breaking away from its Jewish roots and they believed the church had superseded Israel and fully replaced them spiritually. However, there are also some conservative churches that still hold onto replacement theology, or fulfillment theology as noted by theologian N.T. Wright and there are also some liberal churches that are holding to Israel's election.
This is also evidenced in our reactions and responses to the Israeli/Palestinian crisis, with one body leaning in support of the Palestinians and the other in support of Israel. The latter hold to the truths and fulfillment of God's covenants in Scripture in regard to Israel's spiritual unveiling and pending restoration (Deuteronomy 30:4-6; Ezekiel 36:22-28; Jeremiah 31:37), while liberal viewpoints continue to cave into man's humanistic values.
For while we should keep both Israelis and Palestinians in prayer for salvation and how they are treated, the land rights to Israel belong to God, who has unquestionably given it to the people of Israel (Genesis 13:14,15; 17:7,8; Ezekiel 37), with Israel's physical restoration in biblical prophecies already being fulfilled. Honestly though, who are we in the scheme of things to question God (Romans 9:20)? But, in light of Israel's current spiritual condition, not everything they do is necessarily correct and they find themselves in an extremely challenging situation that, ultimately, only God Himself can solve.
So when we pray for the peace of Jerusalem, let us understand that it is only when Yeshua/Jesus returns to us that there will be everlasting peace in Israel. Until Satan is locked up he will always wage war against the kingdom of God, of which Jerusalem is at its center.
However, praying for Jerusalem's peace is not always about blessing, but rather praying for the complete and utter fulfillment of God's word to awaken His people and restore the earth to Himself. This requires a great deal of wisdom and discernment, but also a much greater dependency on the Holy Spirit to guide us into effective and fervent intercession that will help to get the job done.
Could the Israel reconnection be the final piece that actually divides the church? I would not want to be one of those who opposes Israel when Messiah/Christ returns. Pray God for this part of the church that their blindness would be lifted. Could those holding to a continued separation between Israel and the church be bordering the arrogance that the apostle Paul spoke of in Romans 11, thinking like the Pharisees that they have had God to themselves?
These are strong words, but they are written in a spirit of love for us in the church to re-align ourselves with our Father's plans. Yeshua/Jesus is very close to the door and we are still in a time of mercy for us to come into repentance and get it right (Romans 11:32).
For He is intricately linked to both His Jewish and Gentile children and our unity now is essential for all of this to take place. Let us not forget His name is The Lion of the Tribe of Judah and He is coming back to a Jewish city to establish a Jewish monarch upon the earth, of which, His children from the Nations are grafted into its commonwealth. Pray to God that we would never forget our humble beginnings and who we are grafted into.
Pray also for the church that is opening up towards Israel that they would come into a fuller understanding, seeing this time more through our Fathers eyes and lens, rather than our own, and not funding the wrong groups. For there is still a lot more for us to learn, as we fully embrace our Jewish brethren.
It is not just about blessing Israel, but fully reconnecting to them spiritually as family. For God has already re-formed the Jewish branch of the olive tree with many thousands of Jewish believers like myself throughout the U.S. and Israel, and in other nations who are in great need of the church's support and love to fulfill their own destiny, which is to be a light back to our own people.
Like Aaron and Hur, who lifted up the arms of Moses so they could succeed in battle, pray that we in the church would properly connect and support our Jewish brethren first. And, that through our intercession for the rest of Israel, we would start to see this covenant people as the Scripture tells us they will be, and not as they are currently.
Isn't that what faith is all about? (Hebrews 11:1)

Hundreds of Muslims Convert to Christianity Amid Violent Persecution

JESSILYN JUSTICE  charisma News

Hundreds of Muslims fleeing their home countries are finding their peace in Christianity, according to recent reports.
In his Berlin church alone, Pastor Gottfried Martens has seen his congregation swell to close to 600 as refugees accept Christ, the Associated Press reports.
However, the nagging belief remains that the men and women are only in church to claim asylum and not give their hearts to God.
"I know there are—again and again—people coming here because they have some kind of hope regarding their asylum," Martens tells the AP. "I am inviting them to join us because I know that whoever comes here will not be left unchanged."
Martens' Evangelical Lutheran Trinity Church started as a small community earlier this year, according to a translation of their website.
Now, it's a congregation full of refugees from Iran, Afghanistan and Syria. CNN reports millions are flocking to Europe amid the violence in their homelands.
The news site reports France will take in 24,000 in the next two years, and Britain will take in up to 20,000 in the next five years. Meanwhile, the United States will only accept 1,500 each year.
But Germany appears to be the new choice location for many fleeing persecution. Bloomberg News reports the European nation has accepted more than 200,000 migrants this year alone, and is expected to overtake its record of 438,191 set more than two decades ago.
For Germans, Bloomberg reports, immigration is not a political issue, but an economic one. Instead of stopping the flow of refugees in their country, "there is a lot of sympathy for 'true' refugees from Syria—that they're fleeing war makes sense—Germans have little time for 'bogus' asylum seekers."
Many look to German Chancellor Angela Merkel as the reason the refugees make their way to her country.
The minister's daughter, also known as "Mama Merkel" by those seeking asylum, has been called "Europe's conscience."
"Angela Merkel shows a lot of understanding for people who flee from war and despair," Stefan Kornelius, author of Angela Merkel: The Authorized Biography, tells Newsweek. "There is no moral questioning of her motives."
And so her country begins to fill with refugees seeking more than a safe haven, but also searching for peace.
These Muslims are turning their hearts away from Allah and toward Jesus at a rate which Pastor Martens calls "miraculous."

Darkness is falling in the Middle East, but the light of the Gospel is shining brighter than ever - Joel Rosenberg

Darkness is falling in the Middle East, but the light of the Gospel is shining brighter than ever. [NOTE: I will soon be discussing these trends at events in Texas, California & Toronto, Canada. Here’s my schedule.]

by joelcrosenberg
lighthouse"A great storm is being stirred up from the remotest parts of the earth." (Jeremiah 25:32)
As we head into autumn, darkness continues to fall and raging storms continue to spread across the Middle East.
From Iran's latest vow to annihilate Israel, to Russian combat troops entering and operating in Syria, to the Islamic State capturing and using chemical weapons, to the persecution and slaughter of Muslims and Christians across the region, we are seeing wickedness on the move.
The Scriptures warn us that even darker days lie ahead.
But we must not lose hope. For amidst all the bad news, there is much good news, too.
  • I can tell you first hand that the Church in the Middle East act as a lighthouse in the darkness.
  • I am seeing followers of Jesus Christ boldly proclaim the Gospel, bravely preach the Word of God through satellite television and radio and on the Internet, and faithfully make disciples and shepherd growing congregations of believers, against all odds.
  • I am seeing precious followers of Jesus Christ in this region live every day with deep and profound -- even electrifying -- hope that the King and His Kingdom are coming soon, and the Rapture is coming soon, and that now is no time to give up and succumb to the darkness.
It is breathtaking to behold.
So, in the weeks ahead, I will be sharing both trends -- the spreading darkness and the shining light -- at events in the U.S. and Canada. Please see below for my current schedule. I would love it if you would register and plan on joining us, if at all possible.
What's more, we still have a few spaces available on The Joshua Fund's October tour of Israel that I will be leading. Please click here to find out more our Israel tour details and to register before it's full. I can't wait to share the Scriptures with you and introduce you to all kinds of interesting and wonderful people and places as we take you all through this beautiful and fascinating Land that we have come to love so much.
In the meantime, please keep praying for the believers throughout the epicenter, for the pastors and shepherds serving in this beleaguered region, and for the lost to find the light and hope of our Great God and Soon-Coming King. Thanks so much!
MY UPCOMING SPEAKING DATES IN THE U.S. & CANADA

BIBLE VERSES TO CONSIDER
"Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, 'I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.'" (John 8:12)
Then Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." (Matthew 5:14)
The Apostle Paul wrote, "Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain..." (Philippians 2:14-16)

Wanted: A Million More Bold Christians Like Kim Davis

Wanted: A Million More Bold Christians Like Kim Davis

For the first time in American history a woman has been imprisoned by the government for merely exercising her Christian faith. War has been declared on Christ and His followers.
And there's no turning back.
Anti-Christian persecution is the civil rights cause of our time. The cultural Marxists in power have seceded from our constitutional republican form of government, with its Judeo-Christian moorings, and have supplanted, in its place, a secular-socialist oligarchy. Like Union troops hunkered at Fort Sumter, faithful Christians are now exiles in our own land. Anti-Christian "progressives" have demanded unconditional surrender, and federal Judge David Bunning has fired the first mortar.
Even as I write, a kind, soft-spoken and well-respected civil servant of 27 years sits languishing, like some violent criminal, in a Kentucky prison. She is confined, indefinitely and without benefit of a trial, to a tiny cell. She is a political prisoner in a spiritual war. Like so many accidental civil rights heroes who came before her, Davis, a Democrat who was overwhelmingly elected as Rowan County clerk, has peacefully and graciously refused to violate her Christian conscience.
She has declined to sign her name to marriage certificates that defy God's natural design for the timeless institution. Instead she has requested, as a simple accommodation, that either her name be removed from the marriage licenses, thus eliminating her personalized acquiescence to the Supreme Court's novel attempt to usurp God's authority and redefine this cornerstone institution, or, alternatively, "to allow licenses to be issued by the chief executive of Rowan County or [by] developing a statewide, online marriage license process."
That's it. Simple, reasonable and fair. Our nation has a rich history of respecting the rights of conscientious objectors, and Kim Davis, like tens of millions of her brothers and sisters in Christ, is exactly that.
"There is absolutely no reason that this case has gone so far without reasonable people respecting and accommodating Kim Davis' First Amendment rights," said Mat Staver, Davis' attorney and head of Liberty Counsel, a Christian civil rights organization.
"This is a heaven or hell issue for me and for every other Christian that believes," Davis said on Thursday. "This is a fight worth fighting. ... I've weighed the cost and I'm prepared to go to jail."
And so she has.
Reasonable people can disagree on the propriety of Kim's actions. Some say that she was right in refusing to violate her conscience by signing her name to a legal document that presumes to solemnize that which God condemns. Still others say that she needs to either "do her job" or resign—that she took an oath and is violating that oath.
Nevertheless, all reasonable people must agree that imprisoning this innocent woman for her conscience is both an absolute outrage and gross violation of her constitutional liberties. Even the ACLU thought it was a bridge too far. The fact remains that people don't shed their First Amendment rights when they become government employees.
Kim Davis swore to uphold the U.S. Constitution, the Kentucky Constitution and the laws of the Bluegrass state. When she took her oath, United States law, the Kentucky Constitution and the Kentucky Revised Statutes all reflected the millennia-old definition of natural marriage: "Only a marriage between one man and one woman shall be valid or recognized as a marriage in Kentucky."
The Kentucky Legislature has yet to change this law one jot or tittle. Instead, five left-wing extremist lawyers in Washington, D.C., issued an opinion presuming to move the goalposts mid-game. Court opinions are not "the law of the land." Judges don't make laws—only the legislature can do that. Kim Davis is not defying the law; she is upholding it as codified.
Accordingly, she has repeatedly asked, "Under what law am I authorized to issue homosexual couples a marriage license?"
Neither Judge Bunning nor anyone else can answer.
Because no such law exists.
In a statement on Friday, Mat Staver made the same point: "Not long ago 75 percent of Kentuckians passed the state's marriage amendment. Today a Christian is imprisoned for believing what the voters affirmed: marriage is between a man and a woman. Five people on the Supreme Court imposed their will on 320 million Americans and unleashed a torrent of assaults against people of faith. Kim Davis is the first victim of this tragedy."
Indeed, many scoffed at our warnings that Christians will someday be forced to either endorse "gay marriage" or go to jail. Well, scoff no more. That day has arrived. In just two months since the high court's disgraceful Obergefell v. Hodges opinion, the full-on criminalization of Christianity has begun. You must either bow a knee before the false gods of same-sex "marriage" and "gay rights," or face the fiery "contempt of court" furnace. We have moved from anecdotal instances of anti-Christian discrimination to systemic religious persecution.
Here's the formula: 1) Force affirmation of homosexual behavior, abortion or some other institutionalized sin via judicial fiat; 2) Christian objects, refuses to disobey God and requests a reasonable religious accommodation; 3) accommodation is denied and Christian is jailed for "contempt of court."
You're going to hear that term a lot in coming days, weeks, months and years—"contempt of court." It's the straw man charge that will be utilized to imprison not just Christian public officials, but others as well. Christian business owners, lawyers, private sector employees, parents of school-age children who don't want their children indoctrinated by sexual anarchist propaganda and many others will be held in contempt of court, denied due process and incarcerated indefinitely.
The persecution isn't coming.
The persecution has arrived.
And that's what it means to be a Christ follower.
So pray for a million more like Kim Davis.
Become like Kim Davis.
Is she perfect? Certainly not. None of us is. Indeed, before Kim's transformational Christian re-birth four years ago, she was thrice divorced and "played in the devil's playground" for much of her life.
She was lost.
But now she's found.
God has an amazing way of taking empty, broken vessels, rebuilding their lives and then using them mightily for His glory and honor.
Stand, like Kim, fearlessly, lovingly and boldly for Christ, declaring, as did the apostles when faced with a similar decision, "We must obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29).
Indeed, as the Bible's Daniel, a "public official," boldly refused to disobey God and commit sin by worshiping a pagan king, so too has Kim Davis honored our Lord by refusing to bow before a pagan court—by refusing to call evil good and good evil.
They wanted to make an example of her.
Instead, they made a martyr of her.
And awakened a sleeping giant in the process.

Russian Military Buildup in Syria Concerns Israel

Russian Military Buildup in Syria Concerns Israel

Thursday, September 10, 2015 |  Israel Today Staff
Israeli officials have expressed concern over reports of a major Russian military buildup in neighboring Syria, a move that could have far-reaching ramifications for the Jewish state.
A number of sources have recently noted a major influx of Russian personnel and equipment, including fighter jets, into war-torn Syria, presumably to prop up the embattled regime of Bashar Assad.
“We have been informed that the Russians are entering into active intervention,” Amos Gilad, senior adviser to Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon, said at a recent security conference.
Ram Ben-Barak, director-general of Israel’s Intelligence Ministry, told Reuters that this development “could [have] ramifications for us, certainly.”
The first, and most obvious, concern is that periodic Israeli strikes on Syrian targets could inadvertently result in Russian casualties, bringing Jerusalem and Moscow into direct conflict.
Israel has launched numerous air strikes on Syrian regime military convoys suspected of transferring advanced weapons to its Hezbollah allies. The IDF has also routinely returned fire into Syria any time Syrian ordnance hits the Israeli Golan Heights.
An additional reason for worry is that this development further highlights the waning influence and power of America in the Middle East.
At the same time, ISIS and the other jihadist forces currently tearing the region apart need to be stopped, and many living here feel America and other Western powers are doing far too little to make that happen.

Israelis break power record as sandstorm persists into third day

Israelis break power record as sandstorm persists into third day

High temperatures expected to continue into weekend and holidays even as dust clears from air over coming day

 September 10, 2015

The dense sandstorm blanketing the country with a thick yellowish-brown dust continued for a third day on Thursday, breaking electricity and air pollution records across the country.

A sharp rise in temperature on Wednesday added to the already difficult weather conditions, and the heat wave is expected to persist into the weekend even as the sand is forecast to disperse by Friday.

According to figures announced by the Israel Electric Corporation, electricity use broke an all-time record as Israelis tried to keep cool — surpassing an all-time high set on during a heatwave last month.

By Wednesday afternoon, Israelis hit a consumption record of 12,867 megawatts, up from 12,800 megawatts set during a week of soaring temperatures in August.

The Environmental Protection Ministry reported in several parts of the country that air pollution levels were at their worst in 75 years during the storm, which began on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday, air pollution in Jerusalem were 173 times higher than average, 51 times higher than average in the Negev; and in the Galilee, 32 times higher.

The ministry on Wednesday evening re-issued its warning advising Israelis against being outside for extended periods and reminded people to avoid any excessive outdoor physical activity.

The Magen David Adom national emergency medical services reported that 632 Israelis have been treated for shortness of breath, asthma attacks and an exacerbation of existing heart conditions from the effects of the sandstorm.

The storm has been blamed for at least 12 deaths in the region as well as thousands more people being treated at hospitals, according to al-Jazeera.

Poor visibility caused by the extreme weather prompted the Israeli airline Israir to cancel all domestic flights to and from Eilat’s airport until further notice. The carrier said it would reassess weather conditions Thursday and announce when it would restart its domestic service.

Some 800 kilometers (497 miles) above the earth’s surface, NASA satellite images show Israel, Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, Jordan, Lebanon and parts of Syria covered in the thick, brownish-yellow fog. According to the satellite data, the dust cloud rose 600 meters (656 yards) into the air.

Meteorologists estimate the sandstorm to decrease significantly by Friday, however the unseasonably high temperatures are expected to continue throughout the weekend before dropping slightly before the start of the Jewish High Holidays on Sunday.

Tim Tebow is heading back to college football.

(AP)

Tim Tebow is heading back to college football.

Less than a week after being cut by the Philadelphia Eagles, the former NFL quarterback is returning to the SEC Network, ESPN announced on Wednesday afternoon.

“Tim quickly developed into an excellent analyst last year, and we were not shy about acknowledging his home at ESPN should he be available to return,” said John Wildhack, ESPN Executive Vice President in a statement.

Tebow will return to his role on the network’s pregame show, SEC Nation, on Saturday in a broadcast from Nashville.

The former Florida quarterback’s return to SEC Nation was considered by many to be a foregone conclusion if he didn’t make a NFL squad during the preseason. After he left his job at ESPN to sign with the Eagles in April, the network issued a statement saying that he had a home at ESPN when his playing career was done.

“We appreciate Tim’s contributions to the launch of SEC Network and wish him all the best as he pursues his NFL dream. Tim quickly established a tremendous rapport with everyone he worked with in front of and behind the camera. He has a tireless work ethic and a unique passion for football,” Wildhack said at the time.

But for a few months, it seemed like there was a chance Tebow would at least have a few weeks on the field back in the professional game during the regular season. A few days before he was released, Eagles coach Chip Kelly said he believed Tebow “had a good camp.”

“I’ve seen Tim improve since he got here,” Kelly said last week. “I’ve seen him improve his throwing motion … I think he’s really worked very hard at that, sequencing his throwing motion. I think he’s been a lot more accurate with his passes.”

Though he has often said his goal is to be an NFL quarterback, a return to the television screen sends Tebow back to the place many thought it seemed obvious for him to continue his career. In addition to duties with SEC Network last season, he appeared on Good Morning America as a contributor to the popular show’s ‘Motivate Me Monday’ series.

CHRISTIAN CHINA IS RISING - The Right Scoop

Posted by The Right Scoop on Sep 9, 2015 By The Right Scoop

God is moving so much in China that the population of Christians there has already exploded to over 100 million! And with current growth rates, according to CBN News, in two decades China will have more followers of Jesus than any other nation. This compares to just 4 million Christians in China just over 70 years ago, when Bibles were banned and you were thrown in jail and tortured for being a Christian.

Today CBN News reports that a non-stop prayer movement has gripped atheist China and now, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, thousands of Christians are meeting in a corner of northeast China for this unprecedented prayer movement.

This is what Jesus meant when he told his disciples “I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”

Read more: http://therightscoop.com/christian-china-is-rising/#ixzz3lKny6wNr

The mountain in this case is China and the faith of millions of these Chinese Christians is moving it from a barren, atheistic, Communist country to one that feels the very heartbeat of God Almighty. I don’t know about you, but that gives me a huge sense of hope, that my God is so much bigger than I ever imagined, that no government or amount of oppression can keep Him from the hearts of his children.

Simply amazing.
