The Lord Said, "The Church Is On The Edge Now of The Great Harvest"

Todd Bentley, The Elijah List

I had a powerful vision and encounter with the Lord recently during a church service at Queen City Church (QCC) in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Todd BentleyThe Vision

I saw a great harvest field. It was like a field I had never seen before and very large. There were many bundles (sheaves) of wheat already gathered. The wheat was white, ripe, and golden. I remember the sun shining down and how blue and clear the sky was. My heart yearned to be in this field. I said, "Lord, I'm a harvester. I've been in the harvest for many years. Why am I not in this field?"

We were standing on the edge of the field. I felt the Father (Lord of the harvest) say, "The Church is on the edge now of the great harvest at the end of the age" (see Matthew 13:24-43).

The Hammer

HammerIn the prophetic experience, the Lord gave me a hammer. I thought, "A hammer, Lord? Why not a sickle or a sword?"
The Holy Spirit spoke to me saying, "All you need is a fire and a hammer to break through the strongholds and penetrate the hearts of the religious minds and darkness of the people."

(Photo via Flickr)

"Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD, "and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?" Jeremiah 23:29
In the vision, the hammer was called "George Whitefield." He was part of the first Great Awakening, and many referred to him as the "field preacher."

Sometimes crowds of 20,000 to 30,000 would gather, and he would preach the Gospel with a booming voice. No amplification system was needed. George Whitefield had charisma, and his voice, according to many accounts, could be heard for over five miles.

Edgefield
Edge of the greatest harvestI saw in the vision that the Lord was speaking about being on the "edge of the greatest harvest." We are now stepping into the fields. I also knew by the Spirit that some of the greatest revivals would literally be in open fields again.

I believe the grace that was on Whitefield, Jonathan Edwards, and the first Great Awakening is now upon us in a new season of harvest and preaching.

We are being commissioned into a new season of harvest like we have never seen before. In this vision, we were stepping into the great harvest after many years of being trained and equipped. More than ever, we are entering into a reaping season. We are moving from just sowing and seed time to a harvest of all the seeds of promise.

Bob Jones' Passing

For many years, Bob Jones was a spiritual father in my life and ministry and also for countless others around the world. His death was on the day of love (Valentine's Day). On the night of his passing, there was a small earthquake in South Carolina.

CNN: "A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Friday night in west central South Carolina, the U.S. Geological Survey reported... The quake was centered 7 miles (12 kilometers) west-northwest of Edgefield..." One prophetic voice said that Bob Jones' death prophesied there is a "door standing open in Heaven" (Revelation 4:1).

The door is now open to the great harvest. We are at the edge of the field (Edgefield).

Hollywood And The Bible

The Bible SeriesWe are entering into a new season of harvest, and God is giving many a fresh revelation of the Cross and true grace so we can be a part of this great movement. Even Hollywood is calling this year "The Year of The Bible."

I believe a large part in the coming great harvest is God anointing and using the arts and entertainment. Even reality TV shows and series are moving to more shows like Duck Dynasty and the History channel's The Bible Series

There is a new interest in America and the world for truth and The Bible. It's being preached in the Church, and it needs to be. It is also being preached through a revival media. I believe Hollywood plays a big part in spreading the message of the Cross.

Accelerated Harvest

I'm talking about accelerated breakthrough and harvest. A time of supernatural harvest of all things sown. I love the story of Peter and the supernatural harvest of fish after he toiled all night and caught nothing.

Think of the times in your life when it seemed like nothing was happening; you labored and worked so hard for the Lord. Then one word from Jesus and you are reaping so much that immediately the nets are now breaking.

The Miraculous Draught of Fishes by James TissotAnd Simon answering said unto him, "Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at Thy word I will let down the net."

And when they had this done, they in-closed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake. And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. Luke 5:5-7 KJV

This was a harvest so great that Peter's breakthrough enabled others to step into his blessing. He had to signal for the other boats to help him. Could you imagine getting such a breakthrough that it would be enough to bless you and the rest of Body of Christ?

In Him,

What has Already been Set in Motion - Part 2 by Bill Click

Jesus told the Apostles:
"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20)
Last time, we emphasized that what Jesus commanded the Apostles to do was to continue what He had set in motion. It was a succession of faith that would reproduce the very same dimension of who He had not only been to them, but through them, and was getting ready to release throughout the earth (Acts 1:4-8). This reflects who Christ must become to us, through us, and that: throughout the earth until His return (Ac.1:8; Mt.10:23).
We emphasized that the Lord said they were to be, “teaching them to observe all that I commanded you.”  The word translated as “observe” is the Greek word tereo, meaning to make, guard and keep as a fortress, to prevent from loss. This means Matthew 28:20 could actually be translated, “teaching them to keep doing all that I commanded you to keep doing.”?
We stressed that the Apostles DID evangelize under Christ’s authority, but they did so with an anointing (Mt.10:8). This was also carried out by the seventy: heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, “the kingdom of God has come near to you.” (Luke 10:9)  Their effectiveness was verified by testimony: the seventy returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your Name.” (Lk.10:17). Jesus established an ongoing apostolic dimension that could, should and must flow through His Church. That is God’s normal for the Great Commission (Mt.28:18-20). But to be and do this, we must first abandon non-biblical doctrines that allow these commands to no longer be valid.
Healing, Deliverance & the Supernatural: God’s Status Quo
Because of our experience, we have often made being healed, delivered and experiencing God supernaturally a “bonus” to salvation, instead of being part of God’s total package. Jesus accomplished these and freely gives them by His authority through the Cross, Resurrection, Ascension and ongoing intercession.
Being brought up in a traditional church, I always thought that when it came to God healing someone, that was certainly in His ability, but was an exception, not the rule. I cannot remember any reports of deliverance. The Supernatural of God was limited to someone having a burden to pray or, on very rare occasions, someone would confess that “God told me to...” (& such persons were not really seen as socially palatable by the “in-crowd” of that religious setting).
After becoming Spirit-filled and seeing the Lord begin to move in revelation gifts, I still saw very little healing, deliverance and the Supernatural. I began to have more opportunities to pray/speak deliverance (the devil seemed to be responsible for just about everything at times). And it seemed that ALL the “God told me to...” people came to the churches I was part of (& it became evident later many were not really hearing Him). That in mind, it was easy for me to maintain very similar attitudes about the works of God that I had held in the more traditional setting (Jn.6:28).
I did update from a “God can heal, but we don’t know if it is His will,” mentality to “Jesus wants to heal today, just as He did then,” but without seeing much difference in what actually took place. A few years ago I then further adjusted my attitude to “All healing comes from Jesus.” I start and stop with the Lord. If a Doctor is to be involved in the process, that will be at His leading. He is the Great Physician, they can be at God’s leading His assistants.?
This last view was mostly because of (1) my personal experience, (2) the fact that Luke traveled with Paul, (3) Paul confessed to having an illness (Gal.4:13-14), (4) Paul may have had issues with his hands (Ro.16:21), and (5) the “thorn in the flesh” dilemma. (2Cor.12)  Additionally, I didn’t like to see people beat up for their insufficiency in faith (I knew what it was like to have pain either so loud or for so long that belief didn’t come easily). This view seemed to make everything neat, tidy, and especially nice.  But as I continued to receive words in my spirit about healing and the Supernatural that didn’t match up with my updated experience and teaching, I knew something was lacking.
Our primary issue is that we theologize what God wants to actualize; we seek to doctrinally institute what God has released in order to Spiritually activate. We find our experience in the Word and then make it God’s status quo. In Golf there is an expression, “Think long, think wrong.”  As I have heard people in the church say, “when all is said and done, much more is said than done.”  True! So whenever faith rises, we need to get into that stirred water (John.5:1-4). Later, we can reflect on what took place. Much more often there will be praise to God for all He has done.
Your Freedom is to Become the Liberty of Others as Well
My lack of seeing healing, deliverance and the Supernatural take place has not been the hardest aspect of my personal experience to ignore. Instead, it has been the discrepancy between that and the instantaneous deliverance I myself received from the Lord. It had happened just before my 27th birthday. I experienced it 4 days after saying “yes” to the Lord for life, as opposed to when I didn’t follow through on my commitment to that same call 10 years before.
Without prayer by others or medical assistance, God freed me from a root of bitterness that (over 9 years) had led to stage 3 alcoholism, amphetamine addiction, and other multiple daily drug abuse issues. A few days later I was set free from smoking tobacco. I had been completely delivered without any withdrawal, rehab, working of the 12 steps, or seeking out prayer from others. To insure it was real, I waited 2 weeks before returning to church after 9 years.
This deliverance had come through a Supernatural encounter with God. The closest I have seen to it in Scripture is described in Ezekiel chapter 1. Yet it was still very different. I heard the Voice of the Lord coming through (actual) thunder, lightning, and pulsating Heavenly lights. Through those the Holy Spirit took me through 1Corinthians 2:11-16 over and over again until I received impartation of His Word. I had received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that (I) we may know the things freely given to (me) us by God (2:12). As I was made to go over that again and again, the previous words of 2:11 were also made clear: who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God.  Eventually, the Spirit focused me on 1 Corinthians 2:14-16:
A natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised. But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one. For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he will instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.?
Somehow, through the miracle of grace and faith received in that moment, God had made it clear to me that by His own power I was free, and that through the mind of Christ in the Spirit I knew what was being imparted to me. As I was still taking that in, I received the specific call, “go to Florida and study the Word.”
From the beginning, I knew God was real, I knew what I had experienced, but I later became compromised. Unknowingly and over time, I chose to offend God and deny Christ’s authority because of observing what took place around me, my need to package everything neatly, and my own present experience which didn’t match up with what He had clearly said we are to be and do:
“As you go, preach, saying, 'The kingdom of heaven is at hand.'  Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts, or a bag for your journey, or even two coats, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker is worthy of his support.” (Matthew 10:7-10)
Faithfulness with what You have is the Gateway to Much
During the first few years of my growth into ministry (1984-1991), I saw God deliver people in ways similar to my own. Whether in state substance abuse centers, treatment hospitals, rescue missions and prisons, I allowed the Lord to “get some mileage” from my past. God has not sent me in those specific ways since that time. But today, when the opportunity presents itself, I will announce, “if there is anyone here with drug, alcohol, or tobacco issues, God miraculously set me free and will do the same for you.”  This is not only based on “freely you received, freely give,” but also 2 Corinthians 1:3-4:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
The Lord has given us two clear witnesses: whatever we have already received from Him is active within us to be released, and is to be done so freely. While you may very well need to stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high to see Christ heal, deliver and release His Presence in ways you have yet to, you have what you have to give away and can, should and must do so.
Jesus said faithfulness with what we already have is the gateway to much:
"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the use of unrighteous wealth, who will entrust the true riches to you? And if you have not been faithful in the use of that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own?” (Luke.16:10-12)
We must allow God to use the “little thing” we already have as a springboard into much.  If we can be trusted to steward what we have already been blessed with, we will be promoted into more. In fact, if you will serve faithfully in the natural, as well as faithfully under the anointing of others, you can not only expect to receive the Spirit’s true riches, but also that which is your own.?
Last time, we concluded by outlining a process of progressing into receiving and walking in the apostolic anointing of Jesus that has already been set in motion. That call is:
  • We are each to seek Jesus until we truly find Him.
  • After finding Christ, ask Him what He wants you to do.
  • Believe what Jesus tells you to do will result in what He wants done through you.
This process needs to continue, but we do not have to sit on our hands during the process accomplish it. We don’t have to go lock ourselves away either, or (perhaps especially) use our own personal health as the gauge of our progress or readiness. We truly need to seek/find, ask/follow and believe in His process.
We must give away what we have received while we continue to seek to come into full alignment with Christ for His mandate. Our right, privilege and responsibility is representing Christ as He was, is, and forever will be: King of Kings and Lord of Lords, having "all authority….in heaven and on earth.?

Illustrated Newspaper, New York, April 18, 1858, Library of Congress)  Note the rabbi watching.

The Library of Congress Archives has preserved several 150-year old engravings of Jewish customs in New York from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper. [See Purim celebration]

The story we bring today is unusual because of the writer's attempt to describe the New York Jewish community and the Passover holiday.  The first element, rich in Faginesque imageries,  would be considered anti-Semitic by today's standards.  The second element, a description of the holiday customs, is woefully full of mistakes.  Excerpts below:
Any one taking a morning walk through Chatham street will meet enough men whose low stature, shining black eyes, crisp laky hair, stooping shoulders, and eager movements proclaim them of the Hebrew race, to convince him that Jews are prevalent in our city in large numbers.  Exactly how many thousands of the Hebraic people have their present sojourning in New York we have no means of ascertaining, but the number is very considerable, and is on the rapid increase.

Weighing and kneading of the flour with the rabbi
The Israelitish race preserve to this day their peculiar characteristics as strongly marked, and their national prejudices is as full force as in the days of Darius, King of Persia.  They exist among us, a distinct race, preserving an identity of their own... but whilst constantly intermingling in trade and business with the Gentiles, keeping themselves as separate from the uncircumcised dogs in all social and religious intercourse....They could not keep themselves more apart if they were walled out from the Christian world....
The eating of the unleavened bread for the seven days of the Passover is obligatory on all of the Jewish faith, and it is observed with the most punctilious exactitude by all, old and young, and no matter how poor or rich.  During the seven days this unleavened bread is the only sort permitted to be used, no meat is allowed, and no drop of wine or spirits or fermented liquors.  Fish and some kinds of vegetables are eaten sparingly....

'God's Not Dead' Makes Box-Office History

'God's Not Dead'

Makes Box-Office

History

Divergent may have been the No. 1 movie at the box office this past weekend, but the movie everyone is talking about is the independent faith-based movie God's Not Dead.
Pulling in $8.5 million on the first weekend and amassing an impressive $10,979 per-screen average, the movie stands as further proof of the desire to see faith-affirming movies on the big screen.
God's Not Dead is a movie about Josh Wheaton, a freshman college student who is forced to defend his Christian faith against an angry philosophy professor. Starring Kevin Sorbo as the atheist professor, David A.R. White as a priest who encourages Josh and guest appearances by Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson, the movie also ends with a performance from the Newsboys as they perform their song "God’s Not Dead."
Freestyle Releasing co-president Mark Borde, who distributed the Pure Flix Entertainment movie, states, “While this huge opening may be a surprise to the industry, it is not so much to us. The in-house tracking, the legitimate 1 million Facebook fans, the very high trending on Twitter and Fandango among many other platforms, and the huge positive reaction from the hundreds of screenings over the many past months, gave us hope for a significant opening.”
With Son of God already pulling in $55 million domestically and several other-faith based films slated for the next month, including Noah and Heaven Is for Real, it seems quite clear that more than ever, God is working in the hearts and minds of Americans through the medium of movies.

Blood Red Moons

Blood red moons are due this year

Should we run and hide with fear
Or should we practice standing firm
Armed and ready with this concern:
That we've have asked and been forgiven
That we are Holy Spirit driven
That we are called to watch and pray
With loving hearts, prepare the way
Oh, may we live what we believe
Speaking truth that can't deceive
But cuts to marrow and to bone
The very Words that bring us home

May G-d bless you
and cause His face
to shine upon you always,

“Release” Now Think On This by Steve Martin

“Release!”
Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

“At daybreak, the court judges sent officers with the instructions, "Release these men." The jailer gave Paul the message, "The judges sent word that you're free to go on your way. Congratulations! Go in peace!" Acts 16:35-36 (THE MESSAGE)

In the late 1980’s Laurie and I, along with our four kids, lived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As part of my being on the Derek Prince Ministries staff, our likely church choice was Good News Church. That was Derek’s home base from his worldly travels. And because of his time away so many months each year, along with the other apostolic teams of Mahesh Chavda and Jim Croft, the local elders had asked a pastor by the name of Geoff Buck to come from Carmel, CA and serve. Geoff did come, and was a great pastor and teacher, with a prophetic gifting too, whom we much appreciated.

One of Geoff’s prophetic words on a Sunday morning got into my spirit. It was a word one receives at a particular time and your response is, "Yes, that is good.” And then the Holy Spirit implants that into your heart, and seems to sear it into your brain’s storage files. It is a rhema word, one fresh from the Lord to you, that you seem to never forget.

Geoff spoke a prophetic word about the “silver-haired” men and women of God, who would come into the fulfillment of their calling once they reached the age when the hairs on their head had turned to silver. Being my hair at the time was still a solid brown, being less than 40 years old, I knew the time coming was for a distant future in our lives. But the word was planted, and grew over the past decades.

With my earthly time period of 60 years coming real close on this planet, for this head of hair, I have already experienced the silver-haired reality, but am longing for more. Many of you are too. And as my good friend Morris Ruddick likes to say, and write, there is plenty of “something more” we are desiring ahead for us.

The Lord God of Israel is known for taking young adults in their 20’s and 30’s, speaking a word to them that gets into their spirit, and then using decades of reality living to train, prepare, bring increase of wisdom, and more fully relying on His strength (for the Lord knows our physical strength is waning!) to bring about His purposes and plans through them. We have been so prepared. We are so ready for the release!

As things begin to open up, with ministry opportunities, time and resources to go beyond the 40 hour weekly job, my sense is that those years of longing for the release are coming upon many of us. Having spent the long hours in morning prayer, attending weekly church classes and weekend conferences along the way, our time “on the bench” is concluding, and the launch is most definitely coming.

Daily I have been even more fervently praying for the release from the daily jobs both Laurie and I continue to faithfully serve in, anticipating that time when that will be done. The open doors, allowing us not to be restrained by the needed commitment to these hourly jobs, will be the path we are walking through, to go to the nations. I firmly believe that the time is at hand.

Many of you too have had the same longing, the same calling, the same urge from Ruach HaKodesh (Holy Spirit), these many decades. As Moses was released after 40 years in the desert, as Joseph was released after his time in Egypt, as Jesus was released after His 30 years of training, so we will be released into the greater purposes of our Father. We have been prepared. We are ready.

The time of the silver-hairs has come. Our generation is going to take the nations for the Lord, to lead the generation that will follow behind us, and to do great exploits for the Mighty God of Israel Whom we have faithfully served all these years.

It is not so much a wake-up call for us, as it is a “Here I am, send me now Lord!” cry that is going to be fulfilled.

Release is coming!

Get "Why Israel?" for free with $20 contribution to Love For His People, Inc. and bless families in Israel.

Passover (Pesach) is coming in April. Why would you want to know about that, if you are not Jewish?

My latest booklet, Why Israel? will help you understand our Jewish roots as believers. Learn why our Lord Jesus came as a Jew, and why our support for Israel and the Jews is important to Him today, and thus should be important to us.

Why Israel? Why not?

This little booklet consists of messages previously written in my books, which of themselves contain many various themes. I wanted to devote one book to just Israel and the Jewish people, and so this small booklet was compiled. As you read it, consider the truth contained in Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, which spell out the commitment of God the Father to choose a people who will be a light to the nations.

He chose the Jews, and gave them the Promised Land of Israel. It does not matter what other national governments try to say, do, or accomplish apart from the plans and purposes of the Lord. They will fail. His Word is true. It is eternal. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and thus His commitment in keeping His promises made to the Jewish people will be fulfilled. I hope you stand with them in these last days.
