Jerusalem Inspiration

We gain beautiful insight into Solomon's role as King of Jerusalem just by studying his Hebrew name. In Hebrew, Solomon is שלמה/sh-lo-mo. Look for the root of the word and you'll see שלום/sha-LOM, peace! King Solomon built the first Temple in Jerusalem, without "hammers, chisels or any iron instruments" (I Kings 6:7), so that no instruments of war would be used and peace would be built into its very foundation. It symbolized complete peace between man and God and between all the nations of the world.

Fantastic Flight; Soaring Across the Israeli Skies

Starlings from Russia and eastern Europe have created a spectacular show in the Middle Eastern sunset. They group together to help find food and fend off foes. Check it out as they sail across Israel.

An Inside Terror Job

A Jewish woman was brutally murdered while defending her children from a terrorist who broke into their home in Otniel on Sunday afternoon.   Preliminary investigation points to the murderer being a worker in the area.

Book of Revelation: Not as Mysterious as You Might Think - RICK JOYNER CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Book of Revelation: Not as Mysterious as You Might Think

Jan. 18, 2016  RICK JOYNER  CHARISMA MAGAZINE

The book of Revelation was not meant to be a mystery, but to be understood. Its name means "what is revealed," not "what was hidden."
However, there are some basic keys to understanding it. These are the same keys to understanding all revelation in the Bible. We will begin our study of this book with the first of these keys—the first statement made in Revelation:
'The Revelation of Jesus Christ'
The book of Revelation is a revelation of Jesus Christ, period. Possibly the biggest reason why there is much confusion about this book is because people try to see it more as a revelation of the Antichrist or of the events prophesied in it. These are important, but only as part of the revelation of Jesus. We must view everything through Him, rather than trying to see Him through everything else.
Just as some get distracted from the River of Life by the tributaries that feed it, many get diverted from the main revelation of this book by majoring on minors. Some of these sub-themes are fascinating, but as our friend Peter Lord likes to say, "The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing." Even as we seek to understand the sequence of events and different manifestations of evil in Revelation, we see them in relation to the ultimate purposes of God in Christ.
This is not just key to understanding this book, but to understanding the Bible, and indeed all understanding. As we are told in Colossians 1:16-17:
"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they are thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers. All things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
All things were made through Him and for Him. All things are held together by Him. As we are told in one of the most important verses in the Bible:
"... making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Himself, as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Christ, which are in heaven and on earth" (Eph. 1:9-10, MEV).
It is all about Jesus. To fully understand the creation or events of history, we must see from this perspective. All things work toward the ultimate purpose of God—the summing up all things in His Son.
To understand our own lives we must see through this key. Everything in our life was allowed to lead us to the Son and to have our life summed up in Him. All events in Revelation work toward that end. Jesus is the lens we must look through to understand everything.
So why is there so much about the Antichrist and the great evils that come upon the earth in Revelation? As bad as they may seem, they too will lead toward the ultimate purpose of God—the redemption, reconciliation, and restoration found in Jesus alone. The "man of sin" is a personification of the sin of man. In this vision, we see the ultimate result of sin and rebellion, causing us to know that this is not what we want to do again.
To understand our times, we must stay focused on Jesus and what He is doing. We need to understand the evil and the unfolding of events, but even more we must understand the work of God. In the midst of all the evil, the city of God is being built. So we keep our attention more on Him than we do on the Antichrist or all the evils. Even these will work toward a greater revelation of Jesus by revealing the depth of the depravity of fallen men—exposing the depth of our need for the Savior.
Ultimately, the entire history of man on earth will be one of the greatest revelations of God—His grace, mercy, goodness, and power of love over death. This Revelation given to John was the foretelling of how the final stages of God's plan will work out.

Prophetic Dream: God Did It Before and He Will Do It Again - JANE HAMON CHARISMA MAGAZINE

God showed His mighty power by parting the Red Sea for Moses and the Israelites. He wants to show that power again, but it's up to us to proclaim it.

Prophetic Insight, from Charisma Media
On the morning of December 24, 2015 I dreamed for hours with God speaking the same thing to me over and over. He would say, "If you will show up, I will show off!"
In the dream I saw different scriptural scenarios in which this occurred. Jesus showed up at the pool of Bethesda and showed off God's power to heal. Jesus showed up at the tomb of Lazarus showing off God's power for resurrection life. In 2 Chronicles 20, God told Jehoshaphat that they would not need to fight in the battle, but that they still had to show up on the battlefield and He would show His power to destroy the enemy that had them surrounded.
I heard a second phrase in these dreams. ... "If I did it then, I will do it again!" Every miracle we have ever read about in the Word, every revival or awakening from a past season, every example of a city or nation turning towards Christ becomes a foreshadowing of what God desires to do again!
In the dreams I was also reminded of Exodus 9:16 where God says that He raised up Pharaoh to show His power and that His name would be declared in all the earth. The word 'show' means to show or present oneself. In Egypt God first presented Himself and declared who He was to all the earth. God used an obstinate, hard-hearted, impossible situation to demonstrate His goodness and His power to His people. God partnered with Moses and Moses partnered with God to see a nation set free so that the whole world would know God's name!
The Lord says "I will cause heaven to partner with earth in a new way in 2016. My people, if you will show up, I will show off! There are "Pharaohs" and "Pharaoh situations" that I have raised up which I will use as examples to demonstrate My power in the earth and make My name great.
As Moses showed up before Pharaoh, I showed off with signs, wonders and miracles that caused My people to be set free, the enemy to be destroyed and the wealth of Egypt to be released. I brought a divine reversal, out of slavery into freedom, out of besiegement into Jubilee, out of poverty into wealth. If I did it then, I will do it again!"
What miracle that God did THEN would you like to see Him do AGAIN?

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog: Which, if any, of the presidential candidates understand Apocalyptic Islam?

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

Which, if any, of the presidential candidates understand Apocalyptic Islam? My conversation with Todd Starnes of Fox News.

by joelcrosenberg
ToddStarnes-columnonApocalypticIslam(Dallas, Texas) -- The other day, I was interviewed by Todd Starnes of Fox News. He asked me about my family's move as a family to Israel and my experience writing novels that seem to foreshadow future terrorist attacks and wars. He also asked me about my take on the 2016 presidential campaign and whether President Obama or the leading presidential candidates understand the threat of Apocalyptic Islam and are prepared to deal with it.
Todd just finished reading The First Hostage. He very graciously called it "a page-turning political thriller" and "a riveting account of Islamic radicals kidnapping an American president." And as he opened the podcast, he took me aback by saying, "one of my favorite authors on the entire planet is a guy named Joel C. Rosenberg," noting that he was introduced to my novels through Rush Limbaugh talking about them on his programs.
I very much enjoyed our conversation, and it was one of the more thoughtful discussions I've done on the book tour so far. It runs about 30 minutes. Hope you'll take time to listen to the podcast (I've just become a subscriber), and share it with others.
“Once you understand Apocalyptic Islam, you understand just how dangerous it is to give Iran not just one path to nuclear weapons, but two,” he said. “This president doesn’t understand the threat of radical Islam. He won’t even define that – much less Apocalyptic Islam.”
And he doesn’t hold out much hope for the current presidential frontrunners [Secretary Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump] either.
“This is a very challenging year when you have a president and two frontrunners who just don’t understand the most serious foreign policy threat of our time,” he said. “That is not comforting.” Rosenberg has offered counsel to several Republican presidential campaigns including Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.
“Senator Rubio totally gets it,” he said. “He’s been using that language in the debates and in his speeches.”
Among the others who “get it” are Cruz, Jeb Bush and Rick Santorum.
What about Donald Trump?
“It’s clear [Trump] doesn’t understand this,” he said. ‘It’s just all bloviating.
It’s not so much that the world is facing a future threat -- the threat is already here.
“These people are crucifying Christians, they’re beheading people" he said. “They are creating mayhem and really genocidal conditions in Syria and Iraq and our current president is just using half measure to run some sort of public relations war against them."
He [President Obama] doesn’t have a plan.

I was greatly encouraged to read the report from David Lazarus about a group of prominent rabbis calling for a renewed look at Jesus. At the same time I have been greatly inspired by a book about Joseph, the Jewish patriarch, and how he offered total forgiveness to his brothers who had sold him into slavery.
God Meant it for Good by R T Kendall was published by Kingsway 30 years ago, and is an absolute classic that could transform lives, communities and nations. The author’s main purpose was to deal with the issue of forgiveness, so vital in all our dealings. But I want to deal with the issue of Joseph, as a type of the future Messiah, revealing himself to his brothers in the flesh, and of course forgiving them.
Effectively given up for dead, Joseph is finally unveiled – alive and in charge of all Egypt – and instead of wreaking vengeance by handing out the punishment they fully deserved, he astonishes them by saying: “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good.” (Genesis 50.20)
This is the gospel, and especially so for the Jew, to whom it was first given; that though we put Jesus on the cross – and the Jewish religious leaders were especially culpable – it was meant to happen. “…It was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer…” (Isaiah 53.10)
Despite his brothers’ rejection, Joseph became the saviour of Israel, and was a sign of what would happen 400 years later when God’s method of substitutionary sacrifice for sin was demonstrated on the night before the Exodus from Egypt. Although Moses was the chosen human instrument in Israel’s deliverance from slavery, the vital spiritual element was the blood of the lamb daubed on the lintels and doorposts of their homes, prefiguring the death of the Lamb of God who was to lead them into true freedom.
Joseph’s brothers threw him down a well in a fit of jealousy over their father Jacob’s misplaced favouritism. Thanks to Reuben’s influence, they thought better of it and rescued him, only to sell him as a slave to passing Ishmaelites. But when, many years later, they were forced to go down to Egypt during the famine predicted by Joseph in interpreting Pharaoh’s dream (of seven years of plenty followed by seven years of famine), they felt they were being punished for their wicked deeds and began to repent among themselves.
They did not at first recognize their brother, whose wisdom in hearing from God and thus storing up grain in preparation for the lean years was to save them from starvation, but of course it was a great shock when he was finally revealed as the Prime Minister of the greatest nation on earth!
And I imagine it was an even greater shock when they realized that he held nothing against them; that he wept with joy at being re-united with his brothers; and that they were totally forgiven.
It’s interesting that Joseph was taken into Egypt after being rejected by his brothers. After Jesus was largely rejected by the Jewish people (though a significant number accepted him, of course, or the Church would never have come into existence), the message about him was taken to the nations, and the Gentile world elevated him to a prominent role in their affairs. Isaiah had prophesied that the Gentiles would put their hope in Him. (Isaiah 42.4; see also Matthew 12.21)
As far as the UK and the USA are concerned, it would be true to say that from the 17th through 19th centuries the gospel of Christ and the Bible itself was the most influential teaching they possessed, affecting virtually every institution and producing great wealth and power in the process. At the same time a host of passionate preachers went out to the far corners of the world spreading this gospel to heathen nations. Jesus had in some respects become Lord of the Gentile world, a situation that would, in time, make Israel “envious”, according to the Apostle Paul, an orthodox Jewish rabbi who led the mission to the Gentiles. (Romans 11.11)
But just as Joseph never forgot his brothers, and longed for reunion with them, so Jesus – actually descended from Judah and described in the Bible as the Lion of the tribe of Judah (Rev 5.5) – reaches out in love to his long-lost brothers in the flesh, for whom things got worse before they got better. Now, over the past two centuries (even in the midst of multiple pogroms and the Holocaust itself), He has been revealing himself afresh to his people.
Though sadly Jesus is still seen largely as God of the Gentiles, Jewish eyes have gradually been opened. It is believed, for example, that there were as many as 100,000 Jewish followers of Jesus at the outbreak of World War II in 1939. Tragically, many of them would have perished in Hitler’s gas chambers. But out of the ashes of the Holocaust, we not only have a re-born nation of Israel, but a growing number of so-called Messianic fellowships bringing Jesus back to where he belongs.
Just as Joseph was a sign of what was to come 400 years later with deliverance from Egypt through the blood of the lamb, so the voice of the prophets recorded in the Jewish Tenakh (what Christians call the Old Testament) fell silent for 400 years until the revelation of Jesus in the New Testament.
Joseph provided his brothers with grain amidst the famine. And now Jesus is “the bread of life” – the manna from heaven – as he “fills the hungry with good things” (John 6.35, Luke 1.53)
There will come a time when, back in the land of promise and delivered from bondage in a hostile world, all Israel will recognize Yeshua, their Messiah. (Zechariah 12.10, Romans 11.26) What a day that will be – life from the dead as he who was despised and rejected of men is revealed to his brothers alive… and as Lord of all!

The Anti-Defamation League recently hosted a memorial event marking the first anniversary of the “Charlie Hebdo” and Hypercacher terrorist attacks in Paris, and recognizing some of the French Jews who made aliyahto Israel as a result.
The event was attended by the French Ambassador to Israel Patrick Maisonnave (pictured), former Israeli Ambassador to France Daniel Shek, cartoonist Michel Kichka, and Patrice Valid, the manager of Hypercacher who was wounded in the Muslim terrorist attack on the supermarket.
Maisonnave told the gather that “radical Islam is our common enemy. Terrorism is terrorism no matter where it happens in the world.” A night earlier, during a memorial service in central Paris, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls insisted there was no justification for the attacks.
Patrice Valid, who has since moved to Israel, recalled the events of that fateful day. “The terrorist instilled in us fear. He wanted to kill us because we were Jews,” he explained. “But I did not move to Israel out of fear. I came home.”
Carole Nuriel, director of the ADL in Israel, said it was now clear that the anti-Semitic and anti-Western terrorism plaguing Europe had nothing to do with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as is so often claimed.
“The conflict is just an excuse,” stated Nuriel. “Understanding that anti-Semitism affects not only the Jews, but any society in which it exists is very important.”
