For Israel My Glory (Bill & Cindi Duerfeldt) - The Jerusalem March - Sukkot 2015

Jerusalem March -- Sukkot 2015
Bill & Cindi Duerfeldt
Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 Jerusalem

On the same day (1 October 2015) in which Prime Minister Netanyahu made his
excellent and impassioned speech before the United Nations (I hope most of you
got to see it), more than ten thousand Christian Believers from approximately
100 nations participated in the annual Sukkot Jerusalem March, declaring their
solidarity with the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.

Cindi and I; our children Amy and Todd; our grandson Christian; Cindi's parents;
Cindi's sister-in-law Vicki; and Cindi's cousin Robert -- have all participated in
this march at one time or another in years past. It is an indescribable experience
to realize that the Holy Spirit is moving upon the hearts of Believers all over the
planet, and compelling them to physically come to the Land of Israel (HaEretz)
and to say, by coming, "God is with you, and we are with you too, and praying
for you." And just as every year before, the response of the Jewish people toward
the Believers who come to bless them, is both powerful and overwhelmingly positive
as you can see below.

This year we had the privilege of seeing the march from the vantage point of the
Israelis -- standing on the sidelines and watching the parade pass by. It took two
full hours for those 10,000 Believers to pass in front of us!! In many ways, this
experience was more impacting on our hearts and spirits than being a part of
the parade itself. I don't think Cindi and I had a dry eye for the full two hours!

The verse from the Song of Songs kept running through my mind as I watched
the procession: "You are as beautiful as Jerusalem, and as majestic as an army
with banners." (Song of Songs 6:4).

I will say no more, but I will simply let the photos below and the three short
video clips, representing just a snippet of the two hour pageant, tell their own
story. Oh how I wish each one of you could have been here to see it all!

The march begins, up the hill toward the center of Jerusalem.

Annual Day of Prayer for Jerusalem - Sunday Oct. 4, 2015

Annual Day of Prayer for Jerusalem

Sunday Oct. 4, 2015

JERUSALEM, Israel -- This Sunday Christians around the world will join together for the annual Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.
The event is sponsored by Eagles' Wings Ministry and is televised live overlooking Jerusalem's Old City.
At last year's event, Eagles' Wings Director Robert Stearns told Christians what the basis of the annual Day of Prayer is all about.
"But this day, this day is different. This day is a day of prayer in a city whose ultimate calling is to be a house of prayer for all nations," Stearns said.
Organizers estimate hundreds of millions of Christians join together on the first Sunday of October each year to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).
They say the day is set aside to raise global awareness and intercession for God's purposes in Israel.
Their goal is to unite believers worldwide on this day in what they say is "raising a cry to heaven on behalf of this troubled, but strategic land and its people."

"The Angel and the Scarecrow and Your Harvest"- Kathie Walters

Several nights ago I had a dream. In the dream I saw a scarecrow walking towards me. He was carrying a silver bucket, full of seeds. For those of you who may never have lived in the country – when the farmers planted seeds, they would often put a scarecrow in the field to scare away the crows, who would come and try and steal the seeds.
Well, I was a surprised to see an angel dressed like that – and he was smiling.
So, I woke up and there he was, standing right by my bed. "Put your hand in the bucket and draw out a big handful of seeds," he said. I did, and I could feel the seeds falling over my hands as I scooped a big handful. "These seeds are from your harvest." (Photo via Freeimages)
There are times and seasons in the Spirit: times to pray, times to declare, times to receive the answers, and declare the answers. When people pray and give, and give, and minister, etc., guess what? Then there is a time of harvest.
The angel is bringing your seeds of harvest – but when he told me to dig in my hand and get a whole handful of seeds, he also said, "Be sure and re-plant some of the seeds, especially towards Israel."
I immediately had a vision of my friends, Sid and Joyce Roth. I knew that Sid is wanting to get his book into every Jewish household in Israel. It's called, "They Thought for Themselves." I made up my mind to plant some seeds right there and got up and immediately wrote out a check. The other seeds will manifest in the next few days. God is good.
You Will Have Help Defending Your Seed
Now, I have to tell you something else about your harvest field. This is the field where you have watered and planted and prayed, and helped and ministered and traveled, even when you were tired and just wanted to go to bed and close the door.
There is a time to do that, by the way – Jesus did it. Remember when Jesus and the disciples were being crowded out? "So many people were coming and going," that Jesus said, "Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest(Mark 6:31). I like that – although I love the crowds too sometimes, if God is moving that is.
So, the "scarecrow" angel will help you defend your seed against the "crows," but there are some things that you may still have to do.One thing is to learn to say, "No – this is my harvest," to the enemy. Too many times we just roll over. "Whatever will be will be" is Doris Day's theology; it's not God's theology. (Photo via Pixabay)
"No, This is My Harvest"
One time after a battle with the Philistines (the Philistines were notorious for looking around after a battle to see if there was any harvest fields they could rip off), the Philistines saw a field of barley (see 1 Chronicles 11:13); "Ripe pickings," they thought. But good ol' Eleazar (Eleazar was one of David's three mighty men, and Eleazar means "God helps") saw them go after the barley field.
Well, you just didn't mess with Eleazar, and he got in the middle of the barley field and he said, '"NO WAY!" (my words), "That's our harvest." It says God gave him strength and he defeated a whole troop of Philistines.

Another time Shammah – another of David's mighty men (Shammah means "astonishing" or "one to be heard") – saw the Philistines had their eyes on a field full of lentils (see 2 Samuel 23:11-12), so Shammah "took his stand in the middle of the field."
He said, "No way, this is our lentil field." He defended it and struck down the Philistines, and the Lord gave him a great victory. You see, it was harvest time.
Well, for a lot of people now is harvest time. I know it doesn't look like it, I know it doesn't feel like it, and you don't hear too much about it – especially if you listen to the news. But I posted several things about people walking on water recently – even from one island to another in Australia. So God can't be asleep, can He?!
The angel is there to protect your seed and to bring your seed – but don't forget to replant some. (Photo via Pixabay)
But you have to do your part – it's your field. It's your harvest. Learn to say "no" to the Philistines. Stand up – do some declaring or speaking in the spirit; Jesus said "speak to the mountain," not make a fuss about it and whine about it and get 50 other people to pray about it. "Speak to the mountain," Jesus said. He didn't say, "This is a good suggestion." It wasn't a suggestion.
There is power in your words, you know. "Declare a thing, and it will be established for you." Your heavenly Daddy spoke and the worlds were framed – how about you? You have the same Spirit.
The scarecrow angel is here to help you – no more rolling over – or, as Godfrey Birtill sings: "No more eagles in the chicken coop."
Live in God's Economy

Live in God's good news economy not in the government's failed economy, but in God's abundant economy. I want to pray a prayer for you that my friend Prophet Rusty Russell prayed for me a while ago. Ready? You have to receive it:
"I pray for divine encounters and a wealth of revelation and fun that causes you to no longer know debt, but to know wealth... We live in God's abundant on-going, never-failing economy." –Prophet Rusty Russell, Gainesville, FL

Oregon Gunman Asked Victims If They Were Christians

Chris Mintz - Oregon college student and Army vet

Oregon Gunman Asked Victims If They Were Christians

By Heather Sells, CBN News Reporter  Friday, October 02, 2015

Witnesses are saying the gunman in Thursday's mass shooting in Oregon asked students if they were Christians before murdering them.

But they're also talking about student and Army vet Chris Mintz, who they say charged straight at the shooter.

Thirty-year-old Mintz is recovering from surgery after Chris Harper Mercer shot him seven times. Witnesses said Mintz told other students to run, then charged straight for the gunman.

"He actually ran back towards the building where the shooting was and he ran back into the building and I don't know what happened to him," witness Hannah Miles said.

Mercer wounded six others and killed nine people. The father of a wounded victim told CNN that Mercer reportedly ordered students to stand up and asked if they were Christians.

"And they would stand up and he said, 'Good, because you're a Christian, you're going to see God in just about one second. And then he shot and killed them," CNN's Stacy Boylan said.

Thursday night, family and friends of victims mourned the tragedy and their loss.

"This doesn't happen in Roseberg," a local resident said. "This is small town America - it's not supposed to happen here but it happens."

The community of Roseberg is grappling with the enormity of the tragedy which has raised all kinds of questions. Why would the gunman have wanted to know the faith of the people he was about to shoot? And what was his motive?

A profile of the suspect is beginning to emerge as authorities search for a motive.

On MySpace, Mercer posted a photo of himself with a rifle and other photos glorifying the Irish Republican Army. On another website he described himself as a conservative Republican who's not religious but spiritual.

Neighbors at his apartment complex say he was as shy, reserved and familiar with guns. Investigators don't believe he had a criminal history and said he may have been a student at the college.

"He was just silent. He didn't really speak much. If you approached him, he kind of seemed hesitant," one neighbor said.

"He had no friends. He was just kind of like off to himself," another one said.

On one Internet site, called Spiritual Passions, he described himself as "not religious, but spiritual." He didn't like "organized religion" and said, "I'm looking for someone to share my beliefs."

He used similar language online when he said he was looking for a woman who was "pagan, wiccan, not religious, but spiritual."

Within hours of the shooting, President Barack Obama called a press conference to demand new gun laws, saying that gun violence is "something we should politicize."

"Somehow this has become routine," Obama said in a White House briefing Thursday. "The reporting is routine, my response here at this podium ends up being routine, the conversation in the aftermath of it -- we've become numb to this."

The FBI and other law enforcement officials are now combing through Mercer's emails and online activity trying to figure out a motive.

Let me begin with the end, as I am afraid you might not finish this blog and the end contains my most important thought. As an Israeli, I feel confident—protected—even bold. Based on events around the Middle East and the collapse of American strength I shouldn’t have this feeling. So why do I? It is the prayers of millions of believers around the world. Let’s start here…

UNBIW is In Full Force

There is no week like this week to enjoy the hatred and verbal wrath from the nations. It is UNBIW, otherwise known as United Nations Bash Israel Week. All the world leaders come together in New York to act out Psalm 2 were it speaks of the “Kings of the Earth” coming together to conspire against God, the Messiah and debate who has the rights to Jerusalem.
The Lord responds to these men with a mixture of amusement and wrath:Come to Israel with Ron and Elana Cantor
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, “I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.” (Ps. 2:4-6)
He laughs at the absurdity of their alliance against Him—indeed, He is their creator. He holds the key to their every next breath. But He then rebukes those proclaiming He makes the rules regarding Jerusalem and who will rule it.
With the Syrian crisis and the battle between Obama and Putin intensifying, Israel has not been the primary focus this week. But most of the Arab states cannot resist attacking Israel on the world stage. Qatar’s Amir Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani is no fan of the Jewish state:
“[Israel is] the last de facto colonial issue in modern history…the persistent violations of the sanctity of al-Aqsa Mosque … extremist religious political forces tend to rely on literal interpretations of text versions dating back to thousands of years in order to desecrate other people’s sanctities, occupy their land and to settle on it. Isn’t this tantamount to a religious fundamentalism? Isn’t this violence an act of terrorism carried out by radical religious forces?”
Of course these claims are fantastic. If he really cared one iota about religious terrorism, he could have mentioned Hamas, Hezbollah, ISIS, Iran, Saudi Arabia or Al Qaeda. Even in moderate Egypt, Muslim fanatics are beheading Christians.

Getting to my Point

But I digress. This blog is not political. I am writing you from a very special conference that Maoz Israel, our parent ministry, hosts every year. It is called the China/Israel Kingdom Destiny Conference. Several hundred Chinese leaders from the underground church come to Israel for this gathering during the Feast of Tabernacles. Last night after Ari Sorko-Ram gave an eloquent message on Israel and the Church, we began to pray. I should say they, the Chinese believers, began to pray. They prayed with passion and tears.
At that moment, it hit me.
I live in Israel. We are the most hated nation on earth. Everyone wants us dead. As I said, it is UNBIW in New York. If we move a flowerpot on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount (which is under Jordanian control despite being in Israel and the most significant site in Jewish antiquity) it is perceived as an act of violent terror and attracts the ire of even moderate Muslim leaders like Jordan’s King Abdullah and Egypt’s President Al Sissi.
We are in an impossible situation. ISIS, which grows stronger every day, is determined to destroy us. Iran calls for our destruction every 24 hours. Jenny Tonge, a Member of Parliament in the UK said in 2010:
“The treatment of Palestinians by Israel is held up as an example of how the West treats Muslims and is at the root cause of terrorism worldwide.”
The Iran Foreign minister echoed this sentiment recently when he said the “root causes of terrorism and extremism in the Middle East are the expansionist policies of Washington and Tel Aviv.” (source)
I am tempted to explain why these statements are absurd, but that is for another blog. My point today is simple: Despite the horrible condition of the world, despite the Islamic appetite for Jewish blood and despite the fact Iran could soon have a nuclear bomb, I feel blessed.

The Power of Prayer

Seeing this group of Chinese Christians pray for Israel (and they are just a small representation of the pro-Israel Chinese Church) didn’t make me more confident, but it showed me why, in the midst of the craziness, I feel the blessing of the Lord. It was through the prayers of Jews like Simeon and Anna that God sent the Messiah and opened the way of salvation for the nations. It will be through the prayers of Gentiles believers, like these from China, and from all over the world that Israel will return to her God and Yeshua will return to planet earth to take up his throne.
Thank you for your prayers!

Jerusalem Inspiration

Sukkot (Tabernacles) is a unique festival in the Jewish calendar. During the Temple times, all the nations of the world were able to participate. Our verse describes the mass ingathering of non-Jews who came to the Temple in Jerusalem on the festive days of Sukkot to pray to God. Today, Sukkot is still a magnificant time to visit the Land of Israel. Though the Temple is no longer standing, Jews come on "pilgrimage" to the Western Wall, with tens of thousands of people gathering there to perform Biblical commandments such as "Birkat HaKohanim", when Jews of the priestly class bless the Israelite congregation. Meanwhile, on the Temple Mount, violent agitators who wish to stop non-Muslim prayer are stockpiling weapons, starting fires, throwing rocks, and barricading themselves inside their mosques in order to attack the Israeli police and Jewish and Christian visitors who come to the site. Temple Mount advocacy organizations such as the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation are campaining every day in the Knesset and the streets of Jerusalem for safety, equality and access for all on the Temple Mount.

Police Battle "Terrorist Wannabes" on Temple Mount

Young Muslim "terrorist-wannabes", incited and directed by the PA and Hamas, holed themselves up overnight in the Al Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount over Sukkot with a stockpile of weapons to prevent Jewish holiday traffic by staging violent riots. The Israel Police have released this video showing the violence, including the throwing of rocks, fireworks, metal bars and incendiary devices. Police stopped the violence, allowing visitors to ascend in peace.

DNA Studies Find Link Between Biblical Figure of Aaron and Members of the Modern Jewish Priestly Class

Scientists have discovered a gene which can be traced from the Biblical figure of Aaron, the first High Priest (kohen) of the Jewish people, to a segment of the Jewish population today which carries the priestly lineage.
