Today's verse describes the very last commandment of the Torah, the writing of a Torah scroll. Moses fulfilled this mitzvah right before the nation entered the Land of Israel. Thus our Sages gleaned that this precious mitzvah is a vital step for the ultimate redemption and the entrance into the Land by all the Jewish people, led by the Messiah, may that day come soon! 75 Torah scrolls are being written to stand as an everlasting memorial for the souls of the 67 Israeli soldiers and 8 civilians killed in last summer's war. Fulfill this precious mitzvah by joining with LIBI USA, the IDF's official social welfare unit, and YOUR Torah will be delivered to army bases and communities around Israel.
Yesterday's trivia was a hard one! we featured the gorgeous Tunisian Synagogue in Acco. The synagogue is literally covered in mosaics, boasting hundreds of millions of natural stones from all over Israel. Inside, the mosaics and stained-glass windows depict the history of the Jewish people and of the Land of Israel through Bible stories.

Dear Rabbi Weisz, I am enjoying reading Israel365. Thank you for this very interesting e-mail. I live in South Carolina, USA. I have been praying for Jerusalem and the Jewish people for a long while. Last summer I read the JP daily to keep up with what was going on and to pray for Israel. Carol Eggers
