The Gospel Is Still to the Jew First! - Dr. Michael Brown

Dr. Michael Brown
The Gospel Is Still to the
Jew First!

Dear Friends,

When Paul wrote in Romans 1:16 that the gospel was to the Jew first, he didn’t just mean historically. He meant in terms of divine priority – and that priority remains until this very day.

Unfortunately, reaching Jewish people with the gospel is not a priority for many churches and ministries, despite the clear teaching of the New Testament. In fact, in Romans 11, Paul went as far to say that Israel’s salvation would be life from the dead for the whole world. It doesn’t get much more important than that!

Others have a sincere desire to share the good news of the Messiah but don’t know where to start.

I can help you fulfill that divine mandate – “to the Jew first” – and together, we can see Jewish men and women in America, in Israel, and around the world meet their Messiah for the very first time.

By God’s grace, I am on the front lines of Jewish evangelism, equipping believers to reach our people, calling the Church to pray for Israel, and engaging directly in Jewish evangelism.

·        My national radio broadcast, The Line of Fire, devotes one day every week to Israel. It’s called “Thoroughly Jewish Thursday,” and we often get calls from religious Jews who do not yet believe in Yeshua. Only the Lord knows how many are listening!

·        My apologetics materials are being used in Hebrew on Israeli websites devoted to Jewish outreach, and the response so far has been terrific.

·        We have a new Jewish staff member who is fluent in Hebrew, Russian, and English, and as soon as we have adequate funding, we will begin live outreach chats in these three languages, which represent the vast majority of Jews worldwide.

·        We are producing cutting edge videos that expose media bias against Israel – we regularly receive “thank-yous” from Israelis who appreciate this work – and I’m able to write articles on a regular basis that tell the truth about Israel, the Jewish people, and the Middle East conflict.

·        We are developing special teaching videos that open up fascinating Jewish background to New Testament truths, like this new video on Jewish tradition and the cross.

·        We are the only ministry in history to air a 32-week teaching series on national TV on Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus.

·        Our Jewish-related resources, including 8 books and numerous debates and lectures, are distributed around the world, bringing a steady stream of fruit to the glory of God.

One man recently posted a note on YouTube, expressing his gratitude for these materials, explaining that he once fell away from the faith because of the arguments of the counter-missionary rabbis and it was through my books and videos that he came back to Yeshua and has been strong ever since. Praise God!

Would you help me multiply stories like this by the hundreds? Your year-end, tax-deductible gift of $1,000, $500, $250, $100, $50, or $25 will help us take the gospel “to the Jew first,” and you will have the joy of knowing that you are playing an important role in something very dear to the heart of the Father.

To stand with us today, click here – and thank you, from my heart, for your solidarity and support.

May this be the time of Israel’s salvation!

Blessings,

Dr. Michael L. Brown

P.S. When I see how much money is spent on political campaigns, knowing that, in the end, only one candidate will get in, I’m reminded all the more of the importance of putting spiritual work first. Thanks once more for partnering with us!

The Most Important Factor in Choosing Our Next President - STEVE STRANG, STRANG REPORT CHARISMA MAGAZINE

A group of Christian leaders prayed for presidential candidate Donald Trump earlier this year.

Our nation is in a spiritual crisis and I believe we need a leader who can hear from God to turn things around. The secular world ignores this spiritual dimension, so you won't read this in the mainstream press.
In 2016, we will elect a new president in what many are calling the most important election in our nation's history.
In the Republican presidential race there are several candidates who are strong believers and whose Christian values guide their worldview with how they would govern. One well-connected Christian leader told me there are so many good ones that it's hard to know which one to support. He said, in a way, he wished they had been spread out over the past few presidential races, when most Christians considered the Republican nominees to be the lesser of two evils.
I believe the nation's problems cannot be solved only by politicians. We need a major revival. But I do believe we need a godly leader—a person who can hear from God—who will set the nation on a new course. With several good ones to choose from, which one should we support? Many citizens, like me, are taking a wait-and-see attitude.
We can't wait long, however. While the so-called values voters may shift a close election, there are not enough of us to elect a president who will not receive support from other segments of voters. Where we can make a real difference, however, is in the early primaries. Often it's the candidate who wins the early primaries who goes on to win the nomination. It's something called momentum.
The early candidates who have gained momentum based on the polls are outsiders—Donald Trump and Dr. Ben Carson—neither of whom have held political office. (Carly Fiorina, who is lower in the polls, has also never held political office).
The next two, Sen. Marco Rubio from my state of Florida and Sen. Ted Cruz from Texas, are not favored by the party establishment. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush seemed to be the party favorite but is lagging in the polls, and I don't see how his candidacy will ever gain traction.
So far, three candidates have dropped out—all of them governors—Rick Perry of Texas, Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, who made his announcement earlier this week.
Last January I attended a prayer rally in Baton Rouge hosted by Jindal. It was not a political rally, but a solemn assembly: a prayer meeting asking for God's mercy on America. Gov. Jindal did not appear timid about praying publicly with boldness, even though there were those strongly critical of his participation. Later, I attended a private meeting with him and came away impressed by him as a person and a man of deep Christian conviction.
Even though Jindal gained traction in Iowa, nationally his poll numbers were low and his fundraising less fruitful than he had hoped. When he dropped out, he declared this is not his time. At 44, I believe we will see more of him in the future.
Rubio, Cruz and Carson are each well-known for their Christian faith. This endears them to many and makes them despised by others. All three would be godly leaders, I believe.
As for the rest of the Republican group, others articulating strong Christian faith include former Gov. Mike Huckabee, whom I strongly supported in 2008. Others such as Fiorina, Gov. Chris Christie and Gov. John Kasich are on the right side of the social issues and seem concerned that Christians are losing their religious liberties. They all articulate Christian faith, so who am I to judge the extent of it? Frankly, I would support any of them over Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders.
And then there is Donald Trump. Well-known for his casinos and reality television show, he is loud, combative and articulates frustrations felt by many Americans, especially over the threat of Islamic terrorism and unsecured borders allowing massive illegal immigration.
There are good things to say about Trump. I enjoy listening to his speeches, and I'm glad to see him refusing to be politically correct—and seeming to get away with it! Each time he's politically incorrect, his poll numbers go up. He has helped shake up the Republican establishment in a way no one else has in recent memory.
One evangelical leader who has been bloodied by his dealings with the Republican Party told me Trump has done more to disrupt business as usual with the party elite than anyone else. He said that even though he doesn't like the fact Trump owns casinos, has been married three times and lives a lifestyle that in many ways doesn't line up with the Bible.
Nevertheless, Trump articulates Christian values and said the Bible was his favorite book, even though he didn't seem to know much about what was in the Bible. Similar to other Republican candidates, he has reached out to evangelicals.
We ran a commentary by Don Nori Sr. of Destiny Image telling about a meeting where some charismatic leaders including Kenneth Copeland prayed over Trump. Another writer speculated on our Charisma News site that God may have lifted up Trump like a type of Nebuchadnezzar, a view that drew a lot of fire from our readers.
So far, not many Christian leaders have spoken up to support specific candidates. As I travel around, I get the sense people are watching the race, but I don't hear Christians being passionate for any candidate. When there is discussion, some of it is about who can win or who can beat Hillary Clinton.
The fact is that we need a godly leader. While we believe God raises up leaders, if we are discerning, shouldn't we know who that person is? And we need to understand that we can make a difference, especially in the early primary states. So my advice is to pay attention to the races and resolve to get involved closer to the primaries.
And meanwhile, don't go along with trends you hear in the media from the political pundits. Let's believe that God is raising up a leader for America at this very important time.

Israeli Film Festival Hopes for More Faith Films by John Waage CBN News

Israeli Film Festival Hopes
for More Faith Films
ENCINO, Calif. -- For three weeks, Israeli filmmakers have showcased their works in and around Los Angeles. The 29th annual Israel Film Festival wraps up this week.
Organizers of the annual event are happy with this year's turnout. Meir Fenigstein, founder and executive director of IsraFest Foundation, Inc., says the films on display in Hollywood's backyard featured young filmmakers.
"Almost, I can say, 29 years, we never had so many first-time filmmakers making their first feature film," he said. "And that's very interesting because you feel that it is a new upcoming industry, a new wave of younger filmmakers."
Fenigstein says the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was the dominant theme in past years, but today's films deal with Israeli culture and tell stories.

And while the films about faith are growing in the U.S., they're not so popular in Israel, the cradle of both Judaism and Christianity. In the future, organizers hope to include more films about faith.

"You don't see many films about faith -- very few. I don't know why. Maybe the Israelis are not very religious -- at least the filmmakers. So this is not such a topic they are interested in," he said.

But that may change. Fenigstein is already planning for next year's festival, the 30th anniversary, and he hopes to include Christians.

"We want to be more connected to the Christian community," he said. "We're already there. And we want to do a really special event with the Christian community and to bring them in to see at least one right Israeli film -- that would be right for them to watch -- and to bring them to be close to Israel."

Israelis Reeling from Deadliest Wave of Terror Yet by Chris Mitchell - CBN News

Israelis Reeling from Deadliest Wave of Terror Yet

ALON SHVUT, Israel -- Israel suffered its deadliest day yet in the current wave of terror.  Five died in two separate attacks Thursday, including an American teenager studying in Israel.
Ezra Schwartz came to Israel to join a program co-sponsored by the Jewish Agency and the Israeli government. The head of the Jewish Agency, Natan Sharansky, said his death was even more tragic because Schwartz came to be part of the vibrant Israeli experience.
On Thursday afternoon, a 24-year-old Palestinian terrorist from nearby Hebron began shooting at cars in the next lane with an automatic rifle. He killed Ezra and two others, a Palestinian and an Israeli, and wounded seven.
A video caught the aftermath when Israeli police surrounded the terrorist.
Chris Mitchell - CBN News Middle East Bureau Chief
Earlier in the day, two Israelis died in Tel Aviv when 36-year-old Raed Mahmoud walked into a worship service and began stabbing people during afternoon prayers. He worked in a restaurant next door.
Hamas praised both of the attacks, which came almost one year to the day after a major terror attack on a Jerusalem synagogue killed four during morning prayers.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the terrorists will pay a price for these attacks, and Israeli officials continue to blame incitement by the Palestinian Authority and its political party, Fatah.
Fatah recently held a rally honoring the terrorist responsible for the first two murders in this recent upsurge of violence.
Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz tweeted that the Palestinian Arab terrorism is simply the same radical Islam as ISIS.
Many Israelis agree.
"Just as the attacks in Paris, just as previously in London and Madrid and New York, the Islamist, radical terrorist just want to kill us -- not because of what we do or because of where we live -- because of who we are," local resident Ashley Perry told CBN News. "And Jews and Christians around the world are on the front lines."

As ISIS Rises, Many Muslims Are Turning to Christ

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

I love reading stories from the great revivalists and evangelists. In fact, I own a number of books that recount wonderful healings and breakthroughs. Many of these are the kind of inspirational stories that make you want to get up and do something incredible for Jesus.
I recently pulled out a little volume called Miracles by the late R.W. Schambach (1926-2012). This book was originally published in the early '60s and recounts some of his experiences under salvation-healing evangelist A.A. Allen (1911-1970) and when he later launched his own ministry. This is an exciting little book that stirs up a lot of faith.
One of the stories Schambach shared in this book really leaped off the page. As I read it, I felt that it really needed to be recounted. As we think about evangelism and what it means to touch a whole new generation, this is the kind of story that needs to be shouted from the rooftops.
Schambach shares that he had been supporting a missionary to India for 30 years. He heard this missionary mention that he had never brought a Muslim to salvation. This statement made Schambach angry.
Concerned that his money wasn't doing what it should, he decided to go over and see for himself what going on. So a big crusade was organized in India with over 50,000 in attendance. Schambach preached for hours; sharing powerful truths from Scripture. He assumed his anointed message would pierce the heart of the crowd. Yet, when it came time for the altar call, not one person out of 50,000 responded.
The missionary's words came to mind. Yet, Schambach had already decided that he wasn't going to stand for this. He knew God had called him to more than just preaching the Word. He was also commissioned to bring a demonstration of the gospel. Although the crowd was ready to leave, he told them, "I am not done yet. God says His signs follow the preaching of the Word. I have done my part and you are about to see Him do His part."
Then, out of the massive crowd, he invited three handicapped beggars to come forward. One was blind. Another was deaf and mute. The last was crippled. After bringing them up in front of the crowd, Schambach openly prayed in the name of Jesus. Healing came to the blind woman as well as the deaf and mute man.
He felt compelled to do something different with the crippled woman. He explained to the crowd that he was going to pray in the name of Muhammad, their supposed prophet, and see if anything happened. He got her up in front of everybody and prayed in the name of Islam's founder. Nothing happened.
Then Schambach said, "OK, I am now going to pray in the name that is above every other name. The name of the Savior, who is alive!" He then commanded the woman to be made whole in the name of Jesus. Strength immediately came to her legs in the sight of everyone.
In the aftershock of this moment, Muslims began jumping out of trees and running toward Schambach from all over the staging area. They were shouting, "Jesus is alive." A group of people who were once completely unresponsive to the gospel became radically changed within a few minutes. Many of them were passionately pursuing Jesus.
The preaching of the Word was essential, but the demonstration of power took things to a different level. Preaching prepared their hearts and provided a necessary clarification of Jesus' role. However, it was the signs and wonders that enabled the Muslims to truly visualize Jesus' authority.
This story reminds me that Christians are being called to greater displays of power. I'm thankful for all the wisdom and truth that we have to share, but sometimes God wants more to be on display. Believers must be willing to take a greater risk for the gospel.
Sometimes what we really need is a demonstration to go with our proclamation.

Remnant of Resters Rising! by Lana Vawser IDENTITY NETWORK

Remnant of Resters Rising! by Lana Vawser

IDENTITY NETWORK

"Now God has offered to us the same promise of entering into His realm of resting in confident faith. So we must be extremely careful to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and not fail to experience it." (Hebrews 4:1)

There is a remnant of resters rising up. Those who have been pressing deep into the secret place and the Lord has been bringing them to a greater place of rest. The Lord has been working deeply in their hearts leading them into a deeper place of confident expectation in Him. A deeper place of confident faith in who He is and His Word. A deeper place of settledness of His goodness, His power and authority.

In this place of deep rest, the Lord has been awakening in them a dissatisfaction and insatiable hunger for Him and seeing His Kingdom established. The Lord has broken chains off this remnant in the deep rest and imparted gifts of faith within them to believe for greater things, no matter what their eyes see.

This remnant of resters have been birthing deeply in the secret place. The Lord has been birthing in them a level of confident faith in Him, His nature and Word that they have never experienced. This new level of confidence in Him, is breaking off chains and limitations and they are now arising with great impartations to release across the body of Christ.

Called and Rising

This remnant of resters are now being called out by the Lord and are arising with a greater anointing for breakthrough as they have entered into this deeper level of rest and faith.

As this remnant is arising now and they are arising with angels of alignment alongside them. They are arising and being positioned/aligned into significant places across the body of Christ and places of EXTREME favor to release a greater impartation and teaching of deeper rest to the people of God.

They are partnering with the Lord in bringing a deeper and wider shift in the body of Christ to a place of deeper rest in Him. A place where wavering and 'to-ing' and 'fro-ing' is settled, it's stopped. Where roots and levels of doubt have continually tormented the people of God, it's being broken and settled. The fire of conviction and resolution to His goodness and the TRUTH of His Word is being birthed. A deeper place of settledness in Him and who He is and what His Word says in the victories and in the mysteries.

These remnant of resters are now finding themselves before HUGE leaps of faith. The Lord has imparted into their hearts revelation and rest, He has brought deep conviction of His nature, and now I see HUGE steps of faith before them. As they take these bold steps of faith forward, EVERYTHING is about to change.

He is about to rearrange it all and in their 'stepping out' the provision, manifestation of His faithfulness, increase of their faith and miraculous breakthrough will be seen releasing the testimony of Jesus, the spirit of prophecy right across the body of Christ, imparting FAITH to those struggling, to stand up and move deeper into the realm of rest and conviction of His nature and Word.

Moving to the Frontline of Greatness

This remnant of resters are not only moving out of the caves, out of hiding, into a greater position on the frontline to lead the body of Christ into some of the greatest encounters and revelation of the truth of who He is and the power of His Word, but into pinnacles of breakthrough. These resters are not only going to see breakthrough upon breakthrough upon their lives but begin to move forward and 'arrest' the enemy.

Suddenly schemes of the enemy will be thwarted, assignments will be shut down, the impossibilities he stirs up will be flattened as these ones move forward in their burning conviction and authority of KNOWING in SUCH A DEEP PLACE of rest inside them, who HE IS, that miraculous breakthrough occurs.

The Lord is releasing a TIDAL WAVE OF FAITH across the body of Christ through this remnant of resters arising. Reigniting faith where there has been hurt, pain, brokenness, despair, disappointment and confusion. These resters are moving forward ministering right across the body of Christ seeing the Holy Spirit IGNITE FAITH within the people of God who have lost it and add fuel to the fire of faith to those who are holding on.

I also saw the Lord specifically releasing 'gifts of faith' through this remnant of resters across the body of Christ that when activated and walked in broke some of the hardest ground we have seen. Ground broken open and His Glory displayed.

One of the greatest shifts of increase of faith is happening right now in the body of Christ as we stay positioned and this increase of faith is happening as we come to a place of DEEP REST. We don't change the subject despite what our eyes see, we come into a deeper realm of settledness of who He is and the POWER of His Word.

The Lord is bringing His people into this deeper realm of rest and confident faith in Him and His Word, for it is IN THIS GROUND OF DEEPER REST that He is preparing His people for the greatest move of His Spirit, revival and awakening that they have seen.

The remnant of resters are arising and with them are coming angels of alignment to shift the body of Christ into a deeper level of intimacy and seeing Him and higher level of faith to believe for the impossible and take the Kingdom by force. It's time for the remnant of resters to arise!

How to Recognize Signs of Insecurity in Your Wife - B.J. FOSTER/ALL PRO DAD CHARISMA NEWS

Can you recognize your wife's insecurities? How do you handle them?
New Man
In my first year of marriage, I remember lying down on the couch and turning on the television, ready to unplug and relax. That's when my wife came in with a form she needed to fill out.
She started asking me questions about it. Slightly annoyed, I shot back one-word answers. That's when she got upset and told me she needed help. Escalating things, I shot back, "It's a simple form. Why would you need my help?" She ran out of the room, crying.
I was left there wondering what had just happened. I thought, "It's not like I'm smarter or know that stuff more than you. You don't need me. You got it. I just want to relax."
I couldn't understand why she was so adamant about my help or why she got so upset. Immediately, it came to my mind that when she was a kid she struggled with dyslexia. She overcame it, but the experience of not grasping things that seemed to come easily to her classmates left her with a deep insecurity.
The story she was telling herself was vastly different than what I was saying. She heard, "It's a simple form. You're stupid if you can't fill that simple form out. And yourstupidity is annoying me."
The signs of insecurity were there, but I missed them. If I had taken a moment to stop and consider why she wanted my help, it would have changed the entire evening. Her childhood wound was looking for my reassurance.
I could have provided healing, empowerment and security. Instead, I produced the opposite. Understanding our wives' insecurities will help us build them up rather than validate the untrue stories they tell themselves. Here are some common insecurities of our wives.
1. Measuring Up
The Enjoli perfume commercial from the 1980s says, "I can hang the wash on the line, feed the kids, get dressed, pass out the kisses and get to work by 9 to 5. I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan and never let you forget you're a man."
Noted TED speaker Brene Brown while referencing that commercial said, "For women it's 'Do it all. Do it perfectly, and never let them see you sweat.'" She then went on to quip, "I don't know how much perfume that commercial sold, but I guarantee you it moved a lot of antidepressant and antianxiety meds." Women are mostly insecure about how they measure up, constantly comparing themselves with other women who they perceive as better. They feel as though they are never good enough. The following are different areas where this insecurity most prominently plays out.
"I'm not a good enough MOM." Many suffer from mom guilt. They feel like their kids got the short end of the stick because they are not good enough. The birthday party that isn't as good as their kid's friends', homemade Halloween costumes that aren't perfect, not knowing exactly what to say to make things OK, preparing meals, helping at school, being there and available to every need at all times are some of the things their brains obsess over. Comments and questions from us can feel like severe judgment.
"I'm not a good enough WIFE." The house is disorganized and messy. If they don't fulfill their husbands sexual desires, he will go elsewhere. They may see themselves as exceedingly needy, overly emotional or too (fill in the blank) to be married. Or they may feel as though they don't live up to your mother.
"I'm not beautiful enough." This one should come as no surprise. She feels like you fell in love with the way she looked when you met. When her looks or weight change, you will want to move on to someone else.
That story is deeply ingrained in many and may even cause them to dismiss compliments from their husbands to the contrary. That's why husbands even glancing at an attractive woman can set off fireworks. It's a subtle reinforcement in their minds that there is something better out there for their husband to chase.
"My opinion isn't valuable." Those who struggle with this one don't view themselves as smart as other people. It could stem from many sources, such as being shut down by people, particularly in childhood. They may have had controlling people around them in their life. Be mindful of cutting them off mid-sentence. Ask for their opinion and hear them out fully.
2. Worthiness of Love
Much of the insecurity I think is born out of this place. Many unfortunately think they are unworthy of love. They don't feel OK with who they are and live with the belief that when their husbands really come to know who they are, they won't want to be with them. This one creates an incredible amount of pain and brings with it a powerful defense mechanism. They may lash out and cut their husband off first to save themselves from rejection.
If your wife is being cold and distant, before assuming the worst, look for this one. She is probably protecting herself from some hurt. Maybe even from something that happened long before you even met.
